Body Fantasies Signature Cotton Candy

My review for this fragrance is entirely compromised by tooth-rotting rose-tinted nostalgia, but this, along with the other body fantasy fragrances, really are the first that I can remember of my personal journey with scents. Even now as an adult, I am looking at my current tastes and I can pick out a direct line of influence from these fragrances (Toasted Sugar, Pear, Cotton Candy) to my current loves. I recently got a 7ml of Love...Don't be Shy, by Killian, and I love it so much because the gourmande marshmallow notes reminded me of my first love. Love DBS is a much more mature and refined fragrance in it's own right, and I love it because it feels like a scent that has grown and matured with me into adulthood, but the clouds of sugar-floss cotton candy sprays from fantasy, was where this imprinted love began. I can still sing the TV advertisement jingle "I don't do it for anyone but me... body fantasies!". I found a gigantic 90's 8oz bottle of this fragrance on ebay, and when it arrived, I was not at all shy about it and bathed myself in this scent a way that was reminiscent of my teenage self stealing this from my mom to try and cover up the smell of weed after school. Borderline sticky with sweat under the 90s summer sun with butterfly hair clips and portable walkmans and first crushes and heartbreaks. For the rest of my day I was caught up in fits of giggles and pure undiluted joy, transported to moments and memories of my younger teenage self. That inner child was given something special in revisiting this fragrance, and it reminds me that scent is such a powerful thing. For others without such a sentimental connection, this fragrance is no more than the cloying smell of burnt sugar--sticky and overpoweringly sweet in a cheap plastic bottle. For me, this kitsch fragrance has a place of pride on my vanity next to my Chanel, Killian and Guerlains. It is something really invaluable and special in the way that you simply cannot prescribe a value. And I think, in the end, that's what our journeys and relationships with fragrance is about.

This body mist is actually so good! It does open with a grape candy note, but I don’t find it off putting as to me it doesn’t read as grape medicine or nauseatingly sweet. However, the grape note settles into a bright tart raspberry that only stick around for about the first 30 minutes of wear. After about 30 minutes, the fruity berry notes mostly disappear and the scent becomes the most authentic, sweet, sugary, pink cotton candy scent! I was looking for a straight up, genuine cotton candy scent in a body mist which is exactly what I found in this body mist :) I got a 3 ounce bottle for only $3 at Walmart which is an incredible value as well, so I can absolutely say I love this body mist! The longevity is not great, but I’m happy to reapply throughout the day given the price. This scent seems like it would be well suited for spring and summer, but I actually think I’m going to enjoy wearing it in the fall as well because of how sugary it is, it’ll probably be less likely to become cloying in the cooler weather :) <3

Fluffy CREAM-SODA Scent. Opens with hot-pink/purple Fruity Pebbles scent, that dries down on a fluffy vanilla with faintly creamy tones. Doesn't quite get to the level of marshmallow, but gets to a slightly creamy caramel/brown-sugar while retaining the Fruity Pebbles scent in the top notes. Overall I get a cream soda scent that has some faint creaminess - like the elusive creaminess of cream-soda, almost to the level of a grape creamsicle but not quite. For a body spray this is pretty powerful, and one spray lasts 2-3 hours on my skin with arms length projection. It's a love for me. Enjoy! update: I tried this again after a few months, and I was surprised that it evolved. I didn't think that would happen with a body spray. However, under the Cream Soda scent, there's a marshmallow-y vibe similar to Guimauve Reminiscence (although Guimauve doesn't have the Cream Soda top notes). Overall: a cheapie sugar rush, thumbs up.

Alright now, as someone who swears by sweet scents, this one is BY FAR my favorite!!! Even though it's a mist, it stays on my skin for a few hours, and GOD is it delicious :') It is true that it smells more like grapes, in fact, it reminds me of grape Fanta, it has that creamy soda / juicy tinge to it... My bf said that it reminded him of some kind of medicine they used to give him at the dentist, but funnily enough, he actually liked that about it lol?? To me, it smells like all the glossy, pink, glittery things in the world. Think of bubblegum pink, jelly sandals, flavored lip gloss, gemstone stickers, glittery nail polish, scented markers, and all the cutesy toys you wanted as a kid, never got them from your parents, and can finally buy them yourself! PLEASE LAYER THIS WITH FANTASY!!! ♡⸜(˃ ᴗ ˂ )⸝

I'm afraid they're going to discontinue this fragrance - it's getting harder to find, so I'm happy I have a backup! It's amazing. You can clearly smell the raspberry and strawberry over the sweet fluffy cotton candy and a wisp of vanilla musk. It doesn't last, of course, but as we know, fragrance will last better on clothing. Spray this on everything, it seriously smells SO. GOOD. I've been wearing GH Delicious Cotton Candy but this is like a lighter, fruitier version of that. Give me ALL the sweet scents, I literally can't get enough. Also, I'm 31 years old and have truly stopped caring if wearing "juvenile" scents matters. News flash, no one cares, so wear what smells good and makes YOU happy mo matter what celeb put it out or what the bottle looks like.

I believe this was the first cotton candy fragrance I ever purchased. And, of course, it all went downhill from there lol (in a good way!) I am, always have been, and most likely always will be a cotton candy fanatic! If I learn that a fragrance has cotton candy notes, it's an automatic must smell for me! I'm pretty certain I have smelled of cotton candy for the majority of my adult life haha! I've been given the nickname "Cotton Candy" by several friends/coworkers/acquaintances because of the fact. I love Cotton Candy Fantasy, it smells delicious! It's tried & true, easily obtainable, and dirt cheap. And most importantly, and repeat after me.. YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD FOR COTTON CANDY! (;

I bought this on impulse after smelling another woman wear it, and I LOVE it. Be aware, it smells nothing like cotton candy, and instead has a very potent grape soda scent, which is strangely intoxicating. It's so lush and bright and deliciously sweet! Although it has great projection upon first spray, it very quickly settles into the skin and lingers; I got around 4 hours out of it when layered over lotion and body oil. It also lingered much stronger in the air in my room where I sprayed than it did on my skin, so I think spraying your clothes would be more effective to making it last. I definitely will be buying more once this one runs out, and I'm so glad I happened upon it.

It's simple cotton candy, and it's great! It's one note, but I don't think it needs to be complex. It has good staying power in comparison to other body mists (which in general, don't last long), but it's not a eau de parfum or anything like that. I hope they never discontinue this scent, because I use it all the time. Because its inexpensive and simple, I use it to supplement other, more-complex, expensive gourmand scents. I even added this to a DIY dusting powder, and it worked excellently! I've had some men call it a "childish" scent, but I disagree. My former boss loved this scent too, and she was a older woman. It's just feminine and fun, almost like the color pink.

Why are people complaining about it smelling "synthetic"? Do you think you can find cotton candy in nature? 🤡 Of course, it's going to smell synthetic and fake; this is not a flower-inspired scent. Others also expect complexity and glamour. IT'S A BODY SPRAY that says COTTON CANDY on the front for a couple of dollars. What elixir are you expecting? This does not smell like grape or cherry medicine; it's straight-up cotton candy, leaning to the colder side, meaning there is no warmth or coziness to it. It's pure cotton candy, straightforward and simple; you get what you pay for. I like layering it with other gourmand scents that lack candy sweetness 🍬💕

In general I like high quality perfumes, but my husband and I both really like this goofy Cotton Candy body spray. We keep it in the car for emergencies like unplanned hiking. It smells great on my skin when it’s hot out. It also works great as an air freshener in the car without choking you to death because it doesn’t have a lot of the things that give you scratchy throat. We’ve had the same bottle in the car for several years and it gets down to -35 F degrees here and it has never affected the quality. Great low cost product that has a very sweet, pleasant quality.

My all time favorite perfume. Smells like the cotton candy you get at the amusement park. Not very complex or long-lasting but its trusty pink yumminess is available almost anywhere, and at a very low price. If I had a daughter this would be the first perfume I would let her wear. My friend once called it my “cheap hoe spray” but I was not deterred. I’ve been wearing this one almost as long as Fresh White Musk Fantasy, which my grandma also told me smells “like a hooker”. Again, I still wear that one occasionally in memory of her.

This is my absolute favorite perfume in the world!!There is no question about it, i literally wear this almost every single day!But, no matter how perfect a one perfume might be, it still needs to be interchanged. To make it even more wonderful the next time i reach for it. I just cant find a perfume even remotely close to the sweetness of this. Btw, Body Fantasies has put out a new perfume called "Red Velvet". That one is pretty good. Smells exactly like a red velvet cupcake! Great for Arianators! ;)

Please do not let the price tag detour you from this scent if you love sweet scents. I own perfumes such as Viva la Juicy that are over a hundred dollars and none hold a candle to this body spray. It smells delicious and I get compliments constantly from it. This is the way I pictured Pink Sugar to smell and I was disappointed. It is just a fluffy, pure cotton candy smell. I get sugar, caramel, vanilla, and a hint of strawberry. Kids love to smell this and men do too!

i'm on my second bottle of this, and i do think there are potential inconsistencies in batches/bottles. first one smelled very strongly of cotton candy/grape soda (thanks to the reviewers who said that, as now when i think of it, it's what i smell lol), but my second bottle isn't as strong or sweet smelling. still smells nice though and it's worth the $3 imo. definitely my favorite cheap spray, tied w strawberry cheesecake by bodycology of course :]

The one I keep buying over and over even though I can afford Tom Ford. Guilty little pleasure in my gym bag, smells like you’re 14 forever. It’s the truest “Cotton Candy” fragrance I have ever found. Just smells so pink and sweet and yummy. I don’t get grape like some people, to me it smells like raspberry or strawberry hard candy, the European kind with bumps and powdered sugar dusted on it. This magic juice may it reign forever and ever.

I don't understand why people hate it so much after it settle down becomes so girly and soft but if it's still bad then maybe it's your skin chemistry,my mom had a lipstick in early 2000s that smells just like this and somehow it literally smells just like my childhood and plastic baby dolls.I don't know why but if Frank Ocean songs were a scent it would be cotton candy body mist, give it a chance if you are looking for some nostalgia...

Extremely sweet, as others have said it kinda smells like grapes. I feel like it was made for very young children. Smell wise it’s not the worst, but it literally lasts like 10-15 minutes max. Usually I yap but I don’t really know what else to say lol. Would I recommend this perfume? Only if you’re looking for a cotton candy perfume and don’t mind that you’ll need to respray a lot, or if you’re collecting sweet perfumes like me.

Got this back in my collection, was hard to find surprisingly, but smells exactly as I remember it. I still get pure cotton candy with some heavy caramel. Pink sugar is lighter and more like a “airy” cotton candy whereas this is caramel heavy and can smell “dense”. A few people actually thought it smelled like maple syrup. I don’t get the grape whatsoever that a lot of people below seem to get.

Something underrated about this scent is that there is no creamy, vanilla-y backdrop to this, which Fantasy and most other cotton candy scents have. This has more of a sheer background, which I find helps it from becoming sickeningly sweet and cloying.

Just received from Walmart's online site. It smells like grape flavored cotton candy. It stays on pretty long and has decent sillage. For the $7.00 I spent, it was worth it. Now that it's summer where I live right now, this is perfect. It's not an overwhelming cotton candy scent, like some others. It doesn't have that out of place black licorice note, thank goodness. This is a lot more fresh.

If rainbow sparkles had a scent, this would be it. I also imagine fairies would smell like this. It goes from this sparkling cotton candy, to grape scented bubbles, and then finally a realistic cupcake. I know i've written a ton of reviews on this fragrance, but i never seem to outgrow this scent. I might take a break for a while, but when i come back to it i melt. This is a masterpiece!

This is straight up cotton candy! No doubts about it, very sugary and pretty heavy. I’ve heard people ask “who has cotton candy?”when I walk by them. It’s kinda funny to tell them it’s what I’m wearing and see them get confused (mainly the guys because they couldnt understand how I’m smelling exactly like cotton candy) because now all they want to do is eat cotton candy lol.

I really wish Superdrug would stock this again! I can’t find it anywhere in the UK. It’s a super sweet cotton candy smell, when I wear it I get told I smell of those foam shrimps from pick and mix. It’s not strong but enough for people to notice it on you. I’m 27 now and I feel a bit old for this as I started wearing it at 23 but I don’t care it’s so nice !

this literally lasts for hours on clothes. definitely a sickly sweet grape bubblegum smell, kind of like those bubble bath soaps you had as a kid??? personally i like it, more affordable, immature and a less complex fruit punch profile than lush snow fairy or cherrylish body sprays have. i’m in my 30s but i love it for layering or quickie on its own !!!

This is one of my signature scents. It smells like a Britney Spears music video. I've repurchased this multiple times, and the 8oz bottle is such a good value. It's a pretty straightforward scent, sugary and strong. There's a bit of a grape note, like a grape lollipop. My brothers think it smells like Nerds Gummies, and I'm inclined to agree! 💓🍭🍬

The 2000s cotton candy scent of my dreams thnat I have been searching for. I have a feeling I will need several back ups. My entire family will now know me as the one that smells like cotton candy. Apologies to the rest of my more expensive collection. I'm basic, I'm bright pink, and I accept this, now that I have this smell back in my life.

I love this! Body Fantasies has the best atomizers ever! This smells so good, I have to resist spraying this every day. This fragrance really cheers me up and brightens my day EVERY time I look at it in my collection, let alone when I spray it. It really smells like a day at the carnival. A happy fragrance--and, it is super inexpensive.

I love this. Exactly as advertised. Cotton Candy. It may smell a bit synthetic grape-y upon application, but I swear when you walk by someone, theyll be able to instantly get that delicate waft of cotton candy. It smells great for what it is. If you’ve smelled cotton candy, you’ve smelled this! It’s a cheapie, but a goodie.

Extremely sugary, slight grape scent. Not warm in my opinion. Really liked it a lot, left a scent on my skin that reminded me heavily of the smell of newly opened doll boxes. It's a shame that it lasts all of 10 literal minutes on my skin. I have had it for less than a week and I'm already hitting the middle of the bottle.

Perhaps it’s the teenage girl in me and I’ll change my opinion about it when I become an adult but I absolutely LOVEEEE this perfume like I wear every single day, I’m genuinely so glad I became obsessed over cotton candy if not I wouldn’t have known about this perfume!!! I'm in my cheap body spray era in my 30s now after a decade of wearing expensive perfumes... This one and Calgon Marshmallow are all I want to wear lately. I want to smell like a walking carnival and this scent does exactly that. It makes me happy. This body spray has been around for decades for a reason!

Very very sweet trashy scent, I personally don’t get cotton candy that much, I get more bubblegum. Starts off with cotton candy sugary sweetness then after a few mins it settles into an artificial bubblegummy sweetness, then the sweetness wears off and your left with the rubbery plasticy gum smell

Mmmmmm.. cotton candy. <3 A forever staple in my collection. Seriously, you can't go wrong with this delicious, super affordable gem. I always get compliments when wearing this, from men and women, young and old. Whether you're 15 or 50, spray it on and rock the h*ll outta this stuff!

Super sweet fluffy fruity scent, call me crazy but i put it on for bed! Its a very comforting childish fragrance that just makes me feel good it smells that good. I’m experimenting with layering it on top of a warmer vanilla scent for fall and winter

Cotton candy and caramel :) Men compliment me on this scent and other women complain that it’s too sweet smelling. I’m gay so I wish it would have the opposite effect, but I don’t wear it for other people any more. It makes me happy 🥰

Used to have this as a kid and recently tried it again. I love the smell, but it personally gives me a headache, so if that's a turn-off for you then maybe avoid this scent. All of the Body Fantasies scents last really long, too.

It has a great sweet smell. I love the grape jell-o note, it feels like 2018 summer in a bottle, girlhood in a bottle, but there could be less vanilla-background notes, they're kind of distracting from the main point

Smell like a grape lolly or drink, there is a cotton candy smell after it dries on the skin, but it's not a true cotton candy. I love it even tho it doesn't smell like the name suggests. Have and will repurchase.

This smells like grape/bubble gum medicine I had to take as a kid. I really like the smell even though it's not this smooth straight-up cotton candy smell to me :) Stil pretty and refreshing!

If you remember the Juice Bar Cotton Candy “Refreshee Spray” that was popular in the 90’s, this is an EXACT dupe. Takes me back to childhood. It’s pure cotton candy. Simple and effective.

Sticky sugary sweet grape cotton candy! Love it. My guilty pleasure. When I want to sweeten up a perfume or alone. $5. Can't complain. Very light but thats expected with a body mist. 8/10

I used to wear this a lot as a teenager. I got a bottle of it a while back and while it's not something I normally wear I do sprits it here and there to get that feeling of nostalgia.

Used this as a kid and found out my mom still had the old bottle. It's such a sugary, fruity, nostalgic scent. If it lasted longer it would easily be one of my all time favorites.

I think this is one of the best cotton candy fragrances. I've tried many, and this outshines many of them. The longevity is awful like 2 hours, but i dont mind reapplying this.

Very pleasant body mist, that will suit anyone craving for a very sweet scent. I get grape soda with cotton candy but it's sadly does not last more than 10min on myself.

Doesn't smell like cotton candy to me. I feel as tho the fruitiness is too much. Pink Sugar still holds the cotton candy queen award imho lol.

This perfume reminds me of middle school. I still love it. Very fruity and feminine, perfect for summer and spring wear.
