The primary notes I get are cinnamon, praline, bourbon vanilla, and cardamom, with cinnamon and praline clearly leading. Cinnamon opens the fragrance with immediate warmth and spice that feels more like bakery cinnamon than dry or woody spice. It’s cozy yet tenacious, instantly setting the gourmand tone. I’m reminded of Big Red gum here, not because it smells synthetic, but because it has that same fiery, nose-tingling effect that almost feels present on the tongue. Just beneath it sits the praline, adding a sugary, caramelized, almost chocolatey sweetness that gives the opening a dessert-like character without becoming syrupy or cloying. Bourbon vanilla follows closely, weaving into the cinnamon and praline with a smooth, creamy sweetness that feels indulgent and slightly boozy. However, you do need to genuinely enjoy rich sweetness, because this fragrance does not hold back in that department. Final Verdict: Althair represents exactly where modern fragrance trends are headed. Sweet, gourmand-leaning profiles are extremely popular right now, and Althair hits that sweet spot with precision. Pair that with the craftsmanship of Parfums de Marly and strong performance, and it’s easy to see why this fragrance is so hyped and widely praised. got a decant from nordstrom and seriously considering this as my first pdm, almost ran through the entire decant in 2 days opens very sweet, theres a slight but very smooth spice from the cinnamon and i pick up on the tiniest bit of cardamom as well but doesnt really last, the orange blossom note is subtle but still noticeable and lasts for about an hour before fading, throughout it all is a sweet and light vanilla that makes up most of the scent it remains very sweet and gourmand for the remainder of the drydown, im picking up mostly vanilla thats pleasantly sweet, very similar to the vanilla in maison margiela's afternoon delight and a toasted caramelized sweetness with a slight twinge of nuttiness, presumably from the praline and remains linear, no real changes from this point onwards smells very edible from opening to drydown. havent had a creme brulee in a while so i dont remember nor can i compare how it tastes nor how it smells, however, althair strongly evokes the image of creme brulee. personally imagining a cup filled with creamy custard with the iconic hard, caramelized sugar crust on top, maybe sprinkled with some cinnamon and/or garnished with cinnamon sticks, a vanilla blossom and a vanilla bean on the side. think it projects fairly decently? id say maybe arms length, lasts pretty long, 8-11 hours depending on climate from my experience overall a really pleasant smell, nothing too inspiring nor anything unique. its versatile although more inclined for the colder weather, but its a mostly linear scent that doesnt transform too much aside from the initial spice and white floral note fading. its simple and very designer-esque but done very well retail price is 400$ for 125ml which is criminal, discounters have it for almost 50% off around the 200$ mark which is a better price for how basic the scent is scent 9/10 performance 7.5/10 cost 6/10 off discounters overall 8/10 wish it was a bit more complex, especially in the drydown

Performance is solid at around 7–9 hours, and while Althaïr is clearly the higher-quality composition, alternatives like Liquid Brun offer a similar experience at a more compelling price point. 8/10

Love the scent, for fall/winter this stuff is great, sweet vanilla with that orange blossom floras to keep it form being purely cloying and adding some great interesting balance in my opinion. And with that being said, and many of you will probably think im crazy, but I truly believe that perfumes like liquid brun really make this redundant. I got the original decant of althair, was very interested in comparing the clone with the OG, I love doing it with many perfumes to appreciate a DNA at its finest and see how good the clone is or how it twists it, and when I smelled althair I was shocked, I was shocked by how well french avenue cloned this scent. I think its the closest out of all the testings I did personally, to the point where I legit dont see any value in buying the OG even if its price was 100$-150$ for the 125ml bottle, let alone the outrageous 300$-400$ retail value. Tried many dupes of BDC EDP, Sauvage EDT-EDP-Elixir, LNDL BE, Layton, Eros, Ysl Edp, Ganymede, Reflection man, etc... Some were closer than others, Some fell in the performance department, some felt flatter or lower quality, some were just far, so I always saw, even in the closer cases, some reason to buy the OG for those who are really in love with the scent. But here, I dont know man, I see the least, if any at all, reasons to buy the OG Still a great scent though, really love it

i love this stuff and idc what people say. The love has to be an American thing if i had to guess? It reminds me a lot of Thanksgiving, and that was the consensus among my family who all equally enjoyed the scent. That might not be for everybody but like i can see why this is so polarizing. It's very sweet, but I have such dry skin that it doesnt really project as well as it might on greasier skin types, i can see it being cloying and annoying for them. I just find it comforting, super warm and spicy and persistent vanilla base. I like these scents because they do better on me, but they're also more of a special occasion type of scent. I would never wear this during the day, to work, or even going out with friends. This is for Holidays, date nights, anniversaries, etc. Special shit. I feel like it doesnt need to be said but like yeah, dont wear this in any sort of high heat lol. It belongs in the cold. I will say, the whole dichotomy of sweet scents and how they relate to gender and sexuality are hilarious. People on here love JPG to death but hate on Althair? Idk, u try to make it make sense. Now for the price, I get that criticism. No cologne needs to be that fucking expensive. SOOOO the dupe market might be the way here.

Whoa! I think my wife is going to like this one. Firmly "sweet", but without being too sweet. Just baaarely grounded enough by the spice notes and woodsy notes at the base. Has a lipid/fatty smell to it, very reminiscent of lip balm, like the kinds in very small tubs...not in a bad way. Very slightly medicinal, in that way, plus with the aromatics. Really interesting blending here, on paper I should dislike much of this, but it frickin' works. I am honestly very surprised. A very strong showing from Parfum de Marly. Still has a bit of that "Flintstone's vitamins" thing going on, that all of their fragrances seem to, but it is further in the background given the strength of the other notes here. Fall/Winter for sure. This one is going to be a winner--A "buy" and very nearly a "love". NOTE: As this has dried down, I have gotten less excited...still a pleasant surprise, and my wife does like it, but maybe not a buy. Fits in the same "slot" as Five o'clock au Gingembre, which I think I still prefer. 24 hours later, this is still a very noticeable skin scent...powerful juice.

Every time I smell this masterpiece, I’m transported to the beginning of fragrance journey. As expected, this type of mass appealing scent profile spoke to me very early on, and as such this was my first “niche” fragrance purchased. This instantly became my signature fragrance throughout the colder seasons, and despite the passing of time, continues to be my favorite for colder weather. As I’ve expanded my horizons and developed my personal taste in fragrances, I’ve noticed that I’ve moved away from gourmand scent profiles such as Althair’s in favor of more masculine, resinous scents. Despite that, this fragrance is still a personal favorite, and will be for the foreseeable future. This is such an easy reach and a MASSIVE compliment getter. If you’re looking for something everyone around you will love, I would absolutely recommend this fragrance. 10/10 fragrance, definitely my favorite PDM and a great introduction into the niche world.

Althaïr is such a lovely scent, it has a beautiful combination of vanilla, cinnamon, spice with sweetness that has a slightly musky undertone. The dry down and the opening are nearly identical, with just a little bit of the spice notes retreating to allow the sweet spice to shine through a bit more. Performance on Althaïr is amazing! The longevity is is between 8 and 9 hours on my skin and 6 hours on my clothes. Interestingly I noticed hints of it way past these times going on 24+ hours I’m writing this. It’s very subtle but it’s definitely Althaïr. A 8/10 here! Projection is great as well, quite strong, perhaps a little to strong if you over apply. It projected outsides my arms reach, I’d guess within 6 feet. A 8/10 here as well. Althaïr is an incredible fragrance, it smells amazing and has amazing performance! It feels like the ideal cold day fragrance, perfect for the winter or late fall. A 9/10 fragrance for me.

Simplemente es mi fragancia, mi primer perfume nicho y mi gran amor. Creo que no hay ADN mas rico y que me reprensente mas que este. Dura DEMASIADO y no hay una vez que la gente no se pregunte que tenes puesto. Aunque el dupe es un 95% similar creo que no llega a tener esa calidad que PDM nos ofrece en althair , mi fragancia favoria OAT la voy a usar cada dia importante de mi vida. Ahora si no te importa la colección y simplemente buscas esta locura de ADN liquid brun es tu mejor opcion (se siente la salida sintetica, pero en secado es muy similar salvando las distancias claramente), pero si tenes la posibilidad de tener althair no la dejes pasar es una verdadera experiencia. Agradezco todos los dias el haber tomado la decisión de comprarlo pese que lo pague muy overpriced y entrar al mundo de los nichos con esta bomba, siempre me voy a quedar corto de adjetivos para describirlo. un 1000000/10.

Althaïr by Parfums de Marly is by far one of the best fragrances I have ever smelled! Sweetness from vanilla, praline filling, candied almonds, and ambroxan. Spiciness, warmth, and depth from cardamom, cinnamon, tonka, guaiac wood, and musk. Freshness from orange blossom, bergamot, and elemi. Everything comes together to create a well-blended harmony of scents that I can probably only compare to what heaven must be like. It is very warm and cozy, while at the same time being elegant and complex. It is best suited for the winter months/colder weather, as it can easily feel cloying or suffocating in warmer weather. I would definitely say that it is unisex. However, the woody notes can stand out more on certain wearers, so get a sample before you buy if you are hesitant about wood notes. Althaïr is undoubtedly my new go-to and signature scent when the weather permits. Fantastic!

Genuinely one of the best things I've ever smelled, the vanilla bourbon is very prominent. It's a vanilla delicious explosion that's not too sweet but not too masculine. I can smell a hint of caramel and orange, but it smells just gourmand. I'll admit that the opening is way too sweet, screechy, synthetic, and almost has a bubblegum kind of harshness. After like 30 min it's fine though. The longevity is astonishing; it lasts forever. I put on two to three sprays a week ago, and I can still smell it in my hoodie. I become very nose-blind to it, so definitely don't overspray or reapply. It's not too overpowering for others and it seems to stay in the one to two foot radius of me. It's worth the hype for the smell and performance but I would pay 200 for this at most. If you want to smell a little bit worse for a tenth of the price, then just get liquid brun.

This was my very first niche fragrance. It opened my eyes and nose to appreciating the experience of a fragrance journey. I haven't worn it in months but can't wait to start wearing it in the fall! I often reach for it just to pull the cap and get a whiff. It is comforting and cozy to me, and it makes me feel warm and sexy. For a more feminine feel, ill pair it with Creed Eladaria. Since purchasing this, I've collected so many vanilla woody perfumes that its hard to pick this one over those. I love PDM though, and will start wearing it more when the weather cools down. This definitely projects for an hour or two, and then lasts very long on skin, 6-7 hours or so. Im not sure if I will repurchase when im out, if I ever run out.

I don’t know why but I’m a girl who likes feminine fragrances but I sprayed this on myself and it smells soooo good. I was smelling it all day and I can still smell it now. On the initial spray it smells unisex but slightly masculine leaning. But now I can’t even tell that it’s a men’s fragrance because it smells like sweet Vanilla root beer. I was walking past my family and they said I smelled good. I asked if it smelled like a cologne and they said they thought it was just a perfume. They smelled it and it was just one on my wrist. In my opinion, I can’t understand how this would be marketed towards men since it’s so sweet, especially on the dry down. But also it could smell different on other people.

The worldwide economic crisis is a serious issue, so I did the right thing and bought Althair. One spray of this beauty, and I totally forget that I'm chronically starving because I have no food. Layton gets all the love, but Althair is right behind it, hugging it from the back—with consent. I would argue that if I broke my nose, one sniffy sniff from the pale orange bottle could fix my nose's architecture, making it stronger than a cheerleading pyramid. Also, let's be serious for a second—fragrances contain many chemicals, and a healthy life is important. So make sure to use the 4-ton Parfums De Marly fragrance cap as a gym dumbbell for a workout every time you use Althair. Just a lovely fragrance!

I personally love this fragrance. Been a part of my collection for a while now, here's the best universal way to describe it, it's like walking into a French bakery in the wintertime, and with a little bit of citrus in the air. The smell is gorgeous, a solid 8/10, and the longevity I get on my skin is around 7 hours projecting that goes until 10-12 hours as a skin scent. Overall, I like it, fantastic to wear in the fall and winter months, or just a good date night fragrance. 9/10 fragrance, will forever be in my collection, pulls in hella compliments too.

Review #6 - PDM Althaïr Realistically, this is the smoothest smelling 'thing' i've ever smelled. VERY similar to PDM Pegasus, but swap the almond for a smooth orange... Very mass appealing. Very. I often reach for it whenever I want something that will calm me. I can fall asleep with because ITS THAT smooth. I don't see how someone could dislike it. Unisex, smooth, orange, vanilla, slight cinnamon. Projects moderate, but lasts on clothes for a minute.... Especially cotton. Really, really nice scent. Scent: 9.2/10 Sillage: 6/10 Longevity: 7.5/10

I love to smell this on me all day when I wear it. I had a rooibos tea once called Earl Grey de la Creme that smelled just like this and it's just amazingly warm and cozy for a cool day. To me, I think the cardamom and bergamot shine brightest, but all the other notes are there too and blend into each other so nicely. I wore it today for the first time in awhile from a new bottle and I got a large dose of chocolate that I hadn't noticed in my sample. It's so fun when you can wear a fragrance multiple times and still find something new in it.

This fragrance is way sweeter than what I normally go for but I can’t deny that it smells expensive. It’s smooth creamy and comforting without smelling cheap or overly playful like a lot of sweet fragrances do. I don’t reach for it often because it’s not really my style but every time I smell it I’m reminded why so many people love it. If sweet fragrances are your thing this is one of the best I’ve smelled. Honest opinion, go with stronger with you intensely over this and save yourself some money.

At the moment, Althaïr is my favorite fragrance. It has impressed me more than any other perfume I've tried. To me, it smells like a beautiful jasmine green tea paired with high-quality cookies. It's never overwhelming or cloying. It perfectly balances sweetness with a fresh floral character. That's why I enjoy wearing it both during the day and in the evening throughout the summer. It has a very clean, fresh, and gently sweet scent. It's definitely the number one fragrance in my collection.

A runaway success for PDM, I was expecting to find it okay, but it exceeded that easily. It is simple, but it’s executed to an incredible degree. Take the vanillic base from Layton, remove the aromatic elements and push it forward with gourmand and white floral tones, it’s pure zeitgeist perfumery but they nailed it. The bottle is very ugly in colour, the price is too high, the clones and designer alternatives are solid. But althair does definitely command the attention it receives. A

It's interesting, I wrote before on 30th Dec my positive although a bit mixed opinion. Since then it has grown on me a lot to the point where I spray it on me even at home just to smell it. It's really nice and sophisticated. Very pleasant, office friendly. Maybe it just needed a few weeks to macerate. For now it's my most worn (and enjoyed) fragrance. I still think performance is a little on the weaker side but decent enough. Looking forward to see how it smells in warmer months.

got this fragrance as a gift from my uncle in the summer, can't really wear it yet but it smells amazing and way better than the dupe (khadlaj vanilla dunes). haven't smelled liquid brun yet but if you have the money i would buy this (don't take my advice literally cause i can't really give my opinion on value since i got it as a gift). smells like an addictive cinnamon vanilla gourmand with a touch of citrus. 10/10 scent and lasts like 8 hours (4-6 hours of good projection)

This is a wonderful fragrance, I’ve been wearing it a lot lately, especially with the cold weather. Althaïr opens very sweet and gourmand, then slowly dries down into the most upscale, musky cologne. It has this interesting contrast: there’s almost a designer feminine touch to it, with the honeyed orange blossom feeling slightly marshmallowy, but it’s beautifully balanced by the woods so it never goes too sweet. It’s truly enchanting and an absolute compliment magnet.

I love this stuff! Retail is too high but that is with most fragrances. At about $1.50/ml from discounters, it’s a great everyday scent, even in Summer! Don’t let these votes trick you into thinking you cannot wear this whenever you want, I wore 3 sprays in the Florida Summer today and have been told I smell great three times. The dupes are good as well, IMO. Find one with less emphasis on orange blossom, though. The OG also gives me a slight chocolate nuance.

I have both liquid Brun and Althair. Surprisingly my girl who is not perfume enthusiast has straight away identified significant differences. If anyone say liquid Brun and Althair are same that not true. Althair is much more smoother, rich, less harsh in opening. Truly a masterpiece for young lads. Perfect for date nights, clubbing, special occasions and casual wear. Highly recommend to go with Althair instead of any clone

Got my nose on this today, it's vanilla cinnamon milkshake, infused with praline syrup and cardamom powder. Gets woodier and muskier as it dries despite it being so creamy on the opening and on my skin. Great cool/cold weather scent, definitely unisex. Very strong in the air on my skin. I have the dupe Liquid Brun by French Avenue and it's practically identical, though its sweetness lasts much longer than this.

Please don't ever smell this.My first ever time smelling PDM ALTHAÏR was 2 years ago I met my friend and was blown by how good he smelt.He happened to have it with him and he put some on my hand ,for the rest of the day i couldn't get my nose off my hand.Nobody ever could describe how glorious this smells.Ever since i have been addicted and I am pretty sure you will too.My top 1 fragrance of all time.

INJECT THIS INTO MY VEINS!! I have bought the dupes. Liquid Brun was alright. Art of Nature II. Gave it a shot. But nothing gave me that same feeling. No matter what I try, I always come back to Althair. This is not just a favourite. This is the one. My scent. My fragrance for life. If they ever discontinue it, I am buying a crate. My fragrance journey led me here. And I am happy. Althair is home.

Well this is an crowd pleaser of a fragrance it starts with orange blossom and elemi so it smells rlly creamy with cinnamon and in the dry down it smells like a vannilic cinnamon pie lonegevity is 8h+ and projection is really good I am really young nd this is one of my favorite fragrances ever.Everybody under the age of 30 should love this a solid 9.8 out of 10

this might be the best fucking winter fragrance ive ever smelled. it reminds me of the 2023 fragrancetok era. it smells a lil strange right out of the bottle but give it a month and that sharp nose pircing orange blossom quiets down. blind buy safe but i wouldnt recomend buying it. i live in socal so its not cold much but its a no brainer for those days

This is a SWEET, rich, decadent vanilla. On application I thought this leaned feminine (just due to how sweet it is) but the drydown has a touch more woodiness and spice, making it more unisex after a bit of wear. Not very complex. Very likeable. I'll differ from a lot of the other comments in that I'm not picking up much orange blossom.

This was my first Niche fragrance and will always be one of my favorites. Only cologne in my collection better is Mojave Ghost Absolu. This scent is so good and addicting i love it so much. It lasts 12 hours on my skin. I do love this cologne but i would not buy it again for this reason; liquid brun is nearly 1:1

I am so obsessed with this. It is the perfect creamy, deep vanilla that I was hoping for. It is rich and gorgeous with a real depth rather than a synthetic vanilla vibe. It feels smooth, expensive and addictive. My only problem now is that my boyfriend has now stolen my bottle and made it his signature scent :D

This is easily the best PDM I have tried and the most addictive fragrance in my collection. I always find myself taking a sniff whenever I walk past it. The performance is incredible, and I honestly cannot find anything wrong with it aside from the price. Be careful not to overspray because it is very strong.

really an amazing frag. i could still smell it even after a shower and 12 hrs lol!! people who arent a big fan of this are prob just expecting something more complex from PDM, bc of the price. tbh, liquid brun does the same thing and this is pretty mass appealing, and will continue wearing this until i die

Incredible. I can’t think of a single thing to say that is bad about this fragrance One thing to note for new buyers: orange blossom note is very strong in the opening hours. Does NOT mean it is bad, just very strong. My favourite fragrance and nothing can change that. Picks up compliments like litter

My first niche fragrance. Till' this day i still love gourmands because of it. It does sweet and spicy extremely well and last forever. I receives compliments every single time I wear this, it is damn near nuclear. Only downside is that I am in Florida so I can wear it only 3 months out of the year.

Would say the first true 10/10 I smelled. Loved it right away when I smelled it fist time and still do. Very sweet but masculine leaning. Lasts good amount of time. Gets a lot of compliments. Wear it during winter during the day and all year round at night. (Used 2/3 of 75ml bottle)

I’ve had this a year or so and gave it zero attention. It was a bit “papery” to me initially. Dry if that makes sense. Flash forward a year and wow! It’s so good! It’s orange blossom, vanilla and spice - creamy and yummy! Clearly the vanilla develops. Addictive!

Dictionary definition of a "gourmand", picture in your mind a pastry shop and that is exactly what this smells like. Objectively this is one of the best in its respective category, however if you do not like sweetness then this is not the one for you.

a spectacular gourmand. very sweet and delicious smelling with a nice little kick of spice in the mix. the vanilla, cinnamon and caramel notes are strong in this one. it gives off an aroma that makes you feel like you are in a french bakery

unbelievable scent. dries down into this beautiful pastry scent. Longevity in skin is utterly insane. By far my all time favorite fragrance. Bought a 5ml from a decanter because of the insane price, but I expect the decant to last a while.

such a beautiful spicy gourmand scent without being too spice forward. cinnamon note ie beautifully blended in without being too loud, this is a perfect unisex fragrance for the fall/winter time. Good sillage, longevity is ok.

It is my favourite fragrance all time. The vanilla mix with spices is one of a kind. It has very strong opening and is a long lasting fragrance. I do have over 30 niche parfum's but this is the one that i can't live without.

This smells so good it's like crack. Like gender neutral vanilla extract cologne?? Idk how they are doing this but it's like a hug, so warm and cozy if I smelled this on someone it would be permanently instilled in my brain

one of the best performing Perfumes i have ever had. performs overall better than all the other PDMs. great longevity and sillage as well. A perfume collector with respect for himself should have this in his collection
