Hamdani

This one is such an underrated gem. And I am glad to have found out about it. This one has nothing to do with the aesthetics of the house, it's original, not mass-appealing, very complex, bold, and unapologetic. I find it to be utterly seductive and alluring but I can see why many find this repulsive. First of all, there are no animalic musks or synthetic oud accords in here. However, there are two phases of this perfume that could be challenging for many. This one is a very complex perfume that changes a lot after application, so, do test it on the skin, and do wait for it to transform. The first part, is a weird combination of very dry woods, a powerful clove punch(very mentholated), gummy resins, and a hint of honey. This first part almost has like an antiseptic or shoe-polish vibe from the cloves, and it can be offputting. It's not my favorite part, but I find it to be very intriguing. Soon after this assaulting opening, the leather accord and the incense accord start to creep in and slowly assert themselves as the main players. The cloves dial down, and you start to get this beautiful brown leather, quite rugged, almost baked in the sun, that also has a buttery and salty quality to it. It feels alive and does smell of horses and stables. To that, you add a beautiful incense accord, creating this dirty and smoky leather feel. In the base, the styrax adds a hint of dirtiness, sweetness, and oriental mysticism. As I said, very complex perfume. This one does pay tribute to the two beautiful stallions on the front of the bottle, as it does smell like being around these beautiful and majestic creatures. I would say, if you are a fan of the house, stay away from this. If, however, you like to explore and expand your horizons, and you are into smoky-dirty leathers, orientals, and animalic perfumes, and you find the house laughable, boring, and commercial, then this one is not to be missed. It's quite unique, I can't compare it to anything else, but it is in the same league as Tauer's L'Oudh, Afrika Olifant, Tom ford's London, Dior's Leather Oud (OG). A gorgeous perfume.

Today I acquired a full 125ml bottle of Hamdani. To be honest I never thought I will force myself to put a penny on Hamdani. Those who know this frag know exactly how it smells. It has to be said that Hamdani may be considered as controversial frag and I understand this statement. I was told that niche fragrances evoke images and memories and this quote may be the best association with Hamdani. The first time I smelled it I was actually shocked! I saw a horse stable, stinky, humid, and some kind of strange horse skin smell. Pure magic. Sadly it was discontinued but I'm not sure when but I can presume why. This is not for everyone. It is not a crowd-pleaser nor a freshie. This is PURE sophistication. I bought it because I find it to be very unique and specific. I love it and hate it at the same time. Chapeau bas for this magnificent creation. + funny story today (17.07.2021). My father got me Hamdani instead (i got it already but he doesn't know) of Habdan xD He was so shocked when I told him he made a mistake cause he knows how Hamdani smells xD I always told him HABDAN, not HAMDANI Haha! He is so lovely! I don't want him to get disappointed, this fantastic mistake was great! I love my dad! <3 + if You wish to know the story, please head up to my review of Habdan.

My husband calls this one “Barnyard Ruckus” It took me awhile to make up my mind about Hamdani. It’s a jet-black, inky and dry scent of leather and vetiver with a stearn face, zero sweetness like black coffee. I had to get used to the papyrus note which, when mixed with vetiver and leather, creates an ominous, poisonous scent that reminds me of the peaty notes in Scottish Whiskey or Profumum Roma’s Fumidus. There is also a soft animalic, barnyard kind of vibe in here that is very apropos with the leather. It creates a picture of a man checking in on the horses in the stable, early evening in his Stubbs&Wootton slippers. It’s definitely a masculine-leaning scent but it’s strange enough to work on the right woman. If you try Hamdani and anything about it leaves you curious, keep trying it and you just may wind up really loving it. It has pieces of other perfumes (Mona DiOrio Cuir, Nishane Afrika Olifant..etc.) but as a whole there is nothing else like it. After wearing it ten to twenty times, I finally fell in love. Dry, sexy, complex leather, vetiver and “oud” (or what smells like an oud accord).

Wow. The beginning is almost like Patchouli from Santa Maria Di Novella, but then after about an hour converts to almost identical scent that has Soul Of The Forest from Maison Martin Margiela. Clearly, no one would guess that just by the ingredients. It is a mystery, but that is also a game-changer for accepting the fragrance as much more approachable and likable. Of course, since it evolves like this this fast, you are here in for a surprise, and it definitely creates a deception. In fact, where it works best is in between the sheets. The initial earthiness, smokiness and harshness gives a way to a more sweet and fruity drydown, but no oversweet bubblegum or sap association. The longevity is for about 6 hours. The applicability has been questioned on several fora and I have to agree. It has a limited use, but in a different sense. For anything dirty, this will suit it well. You can't forget that the perfume is quite addictive and in this way sets the mood. This leaves out almost every everyday situation, yet for the right occasion, it works perfectly.

I love niche houses and have just about every PdM scent and quite a few from Amouage. Throw in the right type and amount of incense and I could see this being made in Oman, although when Pellegrin designed Sunshine Man for Amouage it is much brighter than this frag. IMHO, PDM's frags are either niche designed for mass appeal and we love them (Layton, Herod), or they are pure niche and not for everyone (Kalan)--and the latter IS Hamdani. Took me a couple of times wearing it before it grew on me and I really started liking it, this is how complex oriental fragrances roll. Unabashedly Masculine, strong, and unforgettable--oftentimes with enough animalic that it can nip. If you are the type infatuated with pineapple, 'blue', and just stepped out of the shower smells...turn around, you are in the wrong neighborhood. Definitely a cooler weather frag, would Not typically see guys under thirty-five wearing this. Nothing unisex about this, pure male. Giddyap.

I'm not understanding all the hate for this one. The opening is rough. Real rough. Camphor nightmare. As it dries, though, it's a wonderful leathery wood experience. Light cloves and honey in the background. I occasionally get a whiff of a medicinal tea I've had before (couldn't tell you when or what it was called) but it's comforting. Does this smell like a horse? I dunno. Horses scare me lol. If it does, maybe I should go smell horses and see how we get on. I seriously doubt this is what horses smell like though. Long story short, opening is a big no. mentholated, camphoric horror story. Luckily, on me, this didn't last long and developed into something that really is hard to describe. The other people who liked this did a much better job of describing it. I'm a fan. Now to wear it around people and see what their faces look like when they catch a sniff. Nothing off-putting about the dry down to me. Glad I got it.

I was very curious about this fragrance, because of the reviews. I do like challenging compositions.. and actually it isn’t as challenging as I expected. The opening is pretty heavy and medicinal. I can imagine people don’t like it. I don’t like the opening either. But after a few minutes the sharpness disappears and the honey comes through. At this point it reminds me very much of Mugler pure leather.. can’t believe nobody mentioned that one. This fragrance is elegant, leathery, woody, high quality and interesting! The honey and leather combination does remind me of a horse saddle that has been waxed with a sweet leather wax. I don’t think I am going to wear this a lot, but I definitely going to enjoy it while wearing this. Underrated imo.

I love it warmly, deeply, desperately. Go out of your way to find it, but beware, out of the bottle it's senseless. Let it sit on your skin for at least half a day and discover what a true masterpiece can do for you: it not only changes the way you smell, it changes the way you feel about your own smell. It gets inside of you and lifts you up, takes you places you had forgotten about. And as far as seduction goes, this is not perfume anymore, it's an assault weapon. ;-)

I do not understand all the negative reviews. I just bought an entire bottle of Hamdani today, and I am so happy I did. It is not versatile, no, but definitely wearable. It smells like an old house in the woods and an open fire... all in the best way possible. Quite honestly one of my favourite PDMs. And I tried them all. Fantastic

Last week I had a try on Hamdani and this is the results. Hamdani is a Balsamic and Woody fragrance with a lot of Smoky and leather scent. The Longevity is awesome and the projection is moderate. This perfume is suitable for Fall and Winter at night and in the evening.

Ahhh so leathery, so dry and so NOT sweet. Really good for PDM’s standard, ofcourse this a older release, they would never do something close to this nowadays. A lot of olibanum and leather is what I’m getting mostly. I am not expecting anyone under 30 to love this.

I can smell fresh soil, old antiques, and well worn leather. So earthy and masculine. Smells like a hard day at the farm, then retiring to your old Chesterfield couch with a cigarette. This is absolutely gorgeous. It's going right into my top ten.

Interesting fragrance. First impression - smells like a horse. Literally You get a smell of a horse ! Don't You believe me ? Go smell a horse and come back to Hamdani. Still, a 10/10 fragrance but not my cup of tea.

Once again it took me so long to buy this hidden gem because of the false narrative painted...this is the definition of niche, such a provocative, beautiful scent. I can’t wait to give this a full wearing

I believe it can be very challenging leather fragrance for some people, but for anyone who loves the real leather smell, this will be great perfume. Very animalic manly dark leather scent. I love it

The smell of real aged Cambodian oud 10/10

Immediately reminiscent of Imaginary Authors' A City on Fire to due its main spicy and smoky notes, Hamdani combines the strong incense pair of myrrh and frankincense with leather and smoke to create a dark, masculine creation that is much less sweet than any of the other Parfums de Marly men's fragrances that I've tried previously. It becomes less acidic after the opening, as is generally the case, but apart from that, I don't observe much evolution. When compared to the other frankincense/myrrh-noted fragrance that I tried yesterday (Habdan), Hamdani is a little weaker with respect to projection and longevity but overall still decent for an EDP. Still, I'd be remiss to point out that a very similar fragrance in IA's A City on Fire (that is even more sharply spicy) is stronger and less expensive ($85 for 60ml, contra PDM's stamdard $275 for 100ml), so I'd certainly recommend opting for that in lieu of Hamdani, though there may be some merit in trying both. A useful entry for PDM, but nothing overly special in the realm of spicy/smoky since A City on Fire came out the year following Hamdani (2014 vs. 2013). 6 out of 10

Leather, dry wood from the guaiac and papyrus, a soil/earthiness from the styrax, benzoin and myrrh. Hamdani has an almost medicinal quality from the cloves. I get Vicks Vapo Rub at the opening. Benzoin gives it an incense vibe. Dries down to a smokey wood and leather. To my nose this smells like something old; as Fausto74 said: a vine cellar, medieval abbey, catacombs. Sillage and projection seem good but it only lasted about four hours before becoming soft. Mature, "masculine" and for cooler weather. I would be simultaneously intimidated by and attracted to a woman wearing this. More formal though I'm not sure what occasion this would be good for. It's not traditionally sexy and might smell a little weird to your coworkers. This fragrance is very interesting to me. Ingredient quality is there but it should perform a little better at this price. Hamdani might be a little difficult to wear but sometimes I like smelling difficult to others. Very nice!

Very pungent animalic smell not really what I thought it would be for sure off of the notes. That opening is seriously powerful and pungent I kinda do feel like it smells like a horse not that I really remember how one smells but it takes a little getting used to. The dry down is a much better and tamer leather/ Cambodian oud for sure but heavy on the papyrus that stays close to you it probably won’t offend others unless you go crazy but I feel like at around hour 4 this stuff just disappears at least on me. This is a tough one to wear and appreciate but I feel like Hamdani is definitely one that grows over time on you as you go through it’s nuances at first it’s definitely a turn off but has a charm to it that makes it intriguing. It’s not bottle worthy to me but if you want a middle eastern horse smell this is it, really stands out among PDM.

An approximation of leather rather than super realism; dry woods; a balsamic incense, myrrh element. I smell medicinal cloves and more in the opening an almost menthol, Vick's VapoRub. Something in this scent gives me a tobacco vibe though it's not listed; like when you smell a fresh pack of cigarettes. This is some weird stuff. Masculine, mature and for cooler weather. Your coworkers will think you smell strange. Your sweetie won't find it sexy. Applied from a dauber vial (not the best application method) performance was a little quiet. Lasted fours hours before becoming soft. A very interesting, high quality scent; wear this for yourself. I would be interested to test it's performance from the bottle to decide if the price is fair. Definitely try before you buy but a good scent.

Interesting for me to see the comments and how much people hate it. I personally like it but as the case with any heavy-oud scent you don’t wear it anytime. Old money, luxury, raw, and unrefined scent. You need to dress very well to wear this fragrance. Winter and night of course. It’s a familiar scent in Gulf region Saudi specifically because of the Cambodian Oud. Maybe not too Western-nose-friendly type of scent (judging by the comments) The fragrance screams OUD. Hard core oud fragrance. Now with this strong raw oud note there are other heavy raw notes as well. Olibanum but again it’s raw sharp olibanum. Leather is also burnt caramalized leather. Again it’s interesting to see people hate it but that’s cool too.

Hamdani is a dark mysterious perfume, not even who likes mysteries, this perfume is worn by a gentleman in all his nature, dressed in a sweatshirt past the knees, with a hat and leather boots, probably not everyone will like it,, but he will surely turn his head after you,, and he will wonder who that man is, who smells heavy, and enchanted,,, this man represents Hamdani!!!!!🖤🖤

Very earthy, incence(y) and green. Potent. 2013 batch. Projects strongly for 5+ hours. Lasts 12+ hours on skin. Got 2 compliments on 2 different occasions from the same person. He said I smell like when someone rub up themselves in green leaves lol.

Not an easy scent, you have to have a strong character and a very classy style to use it. Hard to wear and imo hard to find an event to use it to. As an art and creation it is beautiful scent really a masterclass but it's not for everyone.

To be honest, the smell reminds me of the smell of dried cow patties that were littered on the way to my favorite fishing pond in my childhood days.

a dark incense leather. great scent dark, perhaps among the best. but the performances disappoint. 7/10 price is really too high.

Love PdM. I guess my tastes just aren’t tuned for like something like this. To me this smells like Chigarid...that stuff Mom used to apply to our itchy chigger bites after camping trips. I don’t get Oud or anything else here except that sharp chemical smell. Maybe I got a bad decant, but the only time I would wear this is to fend off huge Jumanji size bugs in some far off exotic rainforest. Will revisit in a decade and see if my tastes change.. UPDATE 3/20/23: I recently wore this while having coffee by myself, on the back porch on a foggy cool morning. I finally got it, something just clicked. If you can get past the camphor smell, this reminds me of like a horse stable in an old rundown barn. Dewey grass, moldy wood. Being outdoors with a cool humid breeze really puts this juice in its element. It's actually quite intoxicating. It definitely morphs and goes through various phases: camphor, animalic, then pleasant woods. You'd have to have balls of steel to wear this in public, and it would have to be the right occasion. Not full bottle worthy, but I admit I do like it as it takes me somewhere mentally.

If Lagerfeld 'Photo' was mixed into a Christmas pudding. Does it work? Kinda. But it's not well blended.

If you google "Parfums De Marly Oud" this will pop up as one of three fragrances that uses it. I've seen oud/agarwood pop up also. On the actual link to the scent, it is not listed as a main note. With the first sniff, I get a very heavy oud opener to this. Anyone not expecting this or have no experience in oud will be put off by this scent. It gives this a very barnyardy animalistic vibe. Again, camphor is not a listed note...but this smells very heavily of Vicks. The smokey incense is rather dominate in this scent also. Personally, I am rather fond of this scent as I've always been fond of this genera. However, it has extremely limited use and appeal. This is a far cry from the normal mass appealing scents from PDM. This may be a hit in the middle eastern market though. Do not wear this to a date. Do not wear this at work. Do not wear this at a formal event. Wear this at home when you want a spiritual journey or really want to make an impression no matter if its good or bad. This is not a safe blind by. Sample first.

The smell of a walk through the woods in the autumn- wet leaves,moss,decaying leaf litter,rotten wood and some smoke lingering in the air. This one isn't a nice safe crowd pleaser,nor is it a 'sexy' fragrance. It's a little bit challenging to wear and I find it pretty much bone dry so often layer it with something else for a bit of sweetness. I find longevity/projection to be average. If your used to wearing one million or the likes....this ain't gonna be your bag.

If anyone from Parfums de Marly ever reads this, please understand that “niche” should not smell like this. It should smell unique, appealing, quality ingredients, etc. Much like the other beautiful fragrances that you offer. The term “niche” should not translate into the most offensive fragrance you can possibly make. That being said, this fragrance should be worn for the sole purpose of smelling off-putting and offending others around you.

This smells like if somebody piss over s wood floor in a big old mansion, is the most disgusting parfum I ever smell along with hyrax (zoologist) and secretions magnifiques (Etat libre d'Orange)

It's smell like when I open my grandma's old rotten wooden cabinet. I don't think someone should wearing this to meeting other peoples, this juice is nostalgic but definitely not a fragrance

Should have been called "At the Zoo". It smells like manure. Animalic notes doesn't equate to a leather accord.

This week we're going back to the house of Parfums De Marly. At this point I've tried nearly everything from the house that's masculine-leaning. I have 5 more fragrances from the house I need to review, and that's what I'm going to be dedicating this week to. Today's fragrance, Hamdani, is from the same collection as one of my favorites from the house, Oajan. Will Hamdani strike a chord with me in the same way that Oajan does? Let's get into it and find out; Scent: The opening is woody, spicy, and leathery. The primary notes I get are papyrus, leather, olibanum, and myrrh. The strongest of the notes are the papyrus and leather. Right away, the papyrus hit my nose with a extremely powerful woody, smoky, and earthy accord. It comes across as very medicinal to me, and immediately reminded me of something like Vicks Vapo-Rub, but not in a minty way, just the medicinal part of it. It honestly bordered on acrid or astringent, and was very dry and challenging. Underneath the papyrus is the leather with a noticeable, animalic bite. This isn't the designer type of leather that's mellow and smells like leather car seats. This leather is primal, sharp, and challenging. This is followed by the olibanum and myrrh. Both notes bring a spiciness to the opening, with the olibanum being more fresh and the myrrh being more warm. The opening is devoid of any sweetness, contrary to what the note breakdown lead me to believe. The dry down was very faint so it was hard to make out, but it was mostly woody and ambery with just a bit of the medicinal papyrus left in the background. I was hoping I would get some of the sweet notes in the dry down, but there were none. Performance: Projection within the first hour was average at about 3 feet and sillage was average as well with a noticeable scent trail but nothing very heavy. When I checked again about 3 hours later the fragrance virtually gone and barely even left on my skin. When to wear: Hamdani is a fall/winter fragrance most suitable for evening wear. It's hard for me to really categorize when this should be worn because it's honestly a pretty challenging wear. If I was gonna pick a scenario I would say special occasion, but nothing formal. Date nights, anniversaries, things of that nature. But again, I would never wear this for those occasions either. Blind buy: This is not a safe blind buy for anyone. It's challenging and the performance is dismal. If you wanna sample it like I did, go ahead; but that's about all I can recommend. Final verdict: Well I guess it's safe to say Hamdani did not have the same impression on me as its brother Oajan. This was by far the worst Parfums De Marly experience I've had so far. The scent profile was offensive, the performance was nothing short of abhorrent, there's no situation I feel this would be appropriate, and it has exactly zero mass appeal. I gotta say, I'm very glad I sampled this first because if I had paid money for a full bottle of this I would be incredibly pissed off. This is a hard pass for me, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Scent: 3/10 Longevity: 4/10 Sillage: 4/10

I enjoy complicated fragrances but this one is really pushing it. Why would anyone wanna smell this way? I also cannot think of any occasion that is suitable for this fragrance. Bittery harsh stinky oud and animalic leather mixed with bitter myrrh and other bitter dry stuff god knows what...ughhh it is bad, really bad!!! In the notes breakdown, there are appealing notes like honey, benzoin, sandalwood, tobacco etc but I do not get any of it. No sweetness nor any creamy vibe at all. just harsh bitter stinky industrial dumbster smell. This one is a perfect example that some niche fragrances are just horrible. Never ever ever buy this blind, total waste of money,...to make things even worse, they made the performance beast mode. I could still smell it on my arm even after the shower. Stay away from it and thank me later!

I’ve used Fragrantica for years. Today, February 7th of 2024, was the day I was convinced to make an account. I adore PDM’s offerings. I’ve loved almost every single one I’ve gotten my nose on. I also tend to be very forgiving about scents, and I love the weird and funky scents that everyone else hates because I find them interesting. But THIS may be the single worst fragrance I have ever smelled in my life. It smells like a UTI mixed with cigarette smoke, those that work in a healthcare facility will understand. I have never been more repulsed by a scent in my life and I cannot stress to you enough how hard you should avoid this fragrance. Other PDM’s are amazing, but it’s like they were trying to make this one smell terrible.

This is my least favorite PDM so far. I usually like leather accords but this is simply too much, especially in combination with the other notes. Too dirty, wet, animalic. Smells like a flower pot that has been overwatered too many times and the roots in the soil are starting to rot. Hamdani is definitely a niche scent, the exact opposite of mass-appealing. I admire anyone who can genuinely wear this. For me it's a hard pass.

This might be the worse smelling fragrance ever, I actually went to the Parfums de Marly boutique in NY and tried this, the person that worked their laughed at my reaction, cause I felt like I was going to puke 🤢🤮..

It's absolutely disgusting. I love almost any fragrance, but this one made me gag. PDM is my favorite house, but this is my most hated fragrance ever!

Horse... Enough said... Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah way I'm wearing this... I see what you did there....

So it opens up with synthetic animalic leather smells like the stuff you'd buy to make your car smell leathery that cheap synthetic stuff it is a bit more nuanced in quality id say but nonetheless definitely synthetic the myrrh is quite prominent in the opening as well i barely get the Frankincense in here if it were just a bit sweeter that would really improve this fragrance imo It smells rather woody but not that subtle woodiness but that harsh smoky tarry bacon like woodiness I'm not saying that's bad but it's really bold might not be for everyone Will make you stand out that's for sure It smells like an Egyptian Pharoah smoky,resinous,dry,tarry Half an hour into wearing it i get a very subtle mentholic quality like a herbal cough drop but it's very subtle that tarrines really takes over The honey is also not very prominent in here Though if it were it would definitely make this fragrance better imo i do get a spicy eugenol note in here must be the clove The Tobacco should be stronger to imo If there was that fruity,smoky,powdery Tobacco quality in here that would also make it better the Tobacco in here is really dirty like cigarette Tobacco not quality Tobacco it's reminiscent of an ash tray In the base the papyrus really gives it an almost herbal very dry smoky quality What can I say it's interesting i don't regret sampling. So its not a bad fragrance but it could definitely use a lot of improvements imo Get this if you appreciate traditional middle Eastern fragrances.

Parfums de Marly Hamdani عطر همداني أو حمداني من بارفام دو مارلي كثيرا ما اشتريت وجربت عطور العود لماركات وشركات النيش والديزاينر على حد سواء والمحصلة أنها إما رائحة اخشاب العود تارة أو بخور العود تارة أخرى لكن من يعرف دهن العود الطبيعي ويستخدمه فحتما سيوافقني انه لم يصادف عطرا له عبق دهن العود ولكن عطر حمداني كان له رأي آخر على الأقل بالنسبة لي ولتجاربي السابقة وأعتقد أنه سيكون بهذا الشكل يمثل مفاجأة ونوتة جديدة للمستخدم الغربي الذي لم يحظ بتجربة التطيب بدهن العود وكذا المستخدم الشرقي الذي يشترك مع الغربي في هذه النقطة عطرنا حمداني هو ببساطة وفي عبارة واحدة "دهن العود الكمبودي المبخر" اللاعب الأول: مع البداية بخور المر واللبان المكثف اللاعب الثاني: حتما سيكون خشب الأنبياء اللاعب الثالث: النوتة الدخانية وأجزم أن خشب الأنبياء والنوتة الدخانية هما المكونان الرئيسيان في هذا العطر هذه الأجواء معا هي التي أوصلت العطر لهذا التطابق مع رائحة دهن العود الكمبودي المبخر بعض القرنفل لزوم الخلطة لأن الكمبودي لازم يكون "مشعوط" العسل غير المكثف سيعطي لمحات جميلة للعطر بعض الجلود وخشب الصندل وأوراق البردي ما هي إلا عوامل مساعدة سؤال.. هل اقتربت يوما من أستار الكعبة خاصة بعد تطييبها؟؟ هل جربت عطر حمداني؟؟ هل تطيبت بدهن العود الكمبودي المبخر؟ الأسئلة الثلاث تبدو لي متقاربة الفوحان والثبات جيدان جدا وقد يزيد الأمر ليصل لدرجة الامتياز العطر رجالي ذكور شتوي بامتياز

So the combination of notes; Myrrh, Frankincense, Honey, Clove, Benzoin, Leather, and Sandalwood gives this fragrance a strange aroma. The verdict is still out if whether or not this is bottle worthy. The opening is as some have mentioned very barnyard-like. Very much so leathery and dark, and smoky! A very different LEATHER than say, Camelia Intrepide or Rendez-Vous by Atelier which those have a more fruity or fresh leather smell to them. Again, this has a dark smoky leather. As this fragrance mellows out, there is something surprising that emerges that is kind of nice, yet strange. You have to wait quite some time before the beauty comes forth and I am not sure if the wearer is patient enough to wait for its goodness to arrive after the initial spray. Hamdani has this medicinal airy aura that is quite potent, even a little greenish and woody. I think the mixture of notes in this fragrance are very different; In this difference, those notes together create this weird blend. Again, there are some nice pleasantries with this one however, it just takes too long to get to it. Verdict is, I am not a fan of this one. For some, this is a nice gem to have but for me a pass!.

If you've smelled and enjoyed pretty much any animalics this one is fine, I promise. It wears like the notes would suggest - the initial spray is admittedly a little harsh and pungent but it settles in seconds and becomes a nice, gently animalic and resinous scent. The horse comparisons may be a little apt, but not in a dirty way - it's like smelling a sun-warmed horse's fur up close or something. Nothing fecal or gross about it if you're used to this type of perfumery. My issue with it (and I could just be quickly going noseblind - though I don't find myself catching wafts of it too often even right after application either) is the projection and longevity. I need to get feedback from other people but to my nose it doesn't project much and even pressing my nose into where I sprayed I can only really smell it for maybe 5 to 6 hours. I would expect a scent profile like this to be a 12 hour plus type of affair. Edit: Also not to discount anyone else's scent experiences or anything but I do work in healthcare and I don't get the UTI thing at all.
