Lippizan

Sour citrus and very green to start. Lots of cardamom, thyme and bergamot for 30 to 40 minutes on my skin. It goes to a patchouli floral in the mid and ends with leather dominant dry down. Overall for the price it's not for me. The quality is there as always with this house this just doesn't work for me. Glad I got a sample. Neutral rating for me. Try before you buy people! Update. Trying again on 8.17.20 and this is an awesome fragrance. A cross of Lauder for men and the original Aramis just way smoother. It is in the old school classic powerhouse style so try before you buy. After a hour on skin it really doesn't smell dated. More along the lines of a modern gentlemens fragrance. I really like it but the price is very high on this juice. Maybe I can add it one day or get a decant. Enjoy!

pffff..this is a hammer in your face..to be taken in very tiny amounts:) The clary sage note is very sharp in combination with the tarragon and thyme: this is very strong stuff! Spiced and masculine, yeah..finally a real masculine perfume for REAL men:)Jokes aside: It is indeed different from all the mainstream so called masculine perfume of today! After the cutting sharp opening, the scent settles down into a wonderful leathery Iris-Rose scent, but nothing calm or sweet here,nothing darling like, no still macho!! As a woman I dare not to wear this but it should be very gorgeous on a modern day cowboy!! I will order a small decant to sniff it sometimes..dreamily ..maybe I can pursue my hubby to take it on??

Something between Kouros and Antaeus. Not bad — it doesn’t have the heaviness of Antaeus, so it’s more like a resinous Kouros. Nice — it makes sense as a masculine scent. It seems to vanish quickly on my skin and turns into something else entirely, something that doesn’t match the opening. I’ll test it again, but I think the first 10–15 minutes are really appealing — maybe even surpassing Kouros — and then it just fades away and becomes weak. Still, it does have something of Antaeus in it, which I kind of miss.

Sophistication in a bottle. Excellent work day scent which I keep reaching for over my other personal favorites. Like prior reviewers have noted this is a real masculine perfume that lasts and lasts. The top notes are in your face but pleasant and the dry down is just divine with the iris then rose element. I have to give this scent a 10/10 and longevity is outstanding. This is a multi faceted fragrance that is formal yet approachable.

Parfums de Marly Lippizan is one of the pre-Herod releases (2009-10 or so) that flies a bit under the radar, a fresh spicy aromatic entailing a fairly sharp citrus/floral/spicy ensemble of notes, including a medley of citruses, and some standout spices like clary sage and cardamom and florals of rose and iris, with some bassier supporting notes of vetiver, leather, and oakmoss. Vanilla is listed as well but it’s really not a sweet mix, which is perhaps why it is not as often discussed in the current market. The overall effect is that of a slightly fresh and invigorating (due the zest of the citruses/spices and brightness of the florals) but is mostly woodier and spicier, and slightly dark. To its credit, though, it’s not overwhelmingly spicy, floral, or citric—it maintains some semblance of balance. I don’t regard it as particularly masculine (Shagya, by contrast, feels more like a men’s signature scent), as there’s something floral, leathery, and resinous that sort of fits the unisex cold weather mold of a lot of niche scents, or is it something I’d recommend reaching for in warm weather. Lippizan is interesting but is a notch below some of its kin—Nisean, Shagya, and Carlisle are more interesting, for example—but I’d still recommend that fans of the brand, especially, give it a try. It performs fairly well and is priced at $153 on FragranceX and $149 on FragranceNet for the standard 125ml size, which is reasonable, given the quality, in my opinion. 7 out of 10

I blind bought Lippizan (it was a good deal). The first few times I tried it I didn't like it at all. Lippizan is quite agressive at start. there is a sharp herbal note that is overpowering and nose-penetrating. Yesterday I gave it a try again and I got used to the sharp note a bit. And in all fairness, it fades away after one hour. The drydown is a classic chypre, well blended. Still not one of my favorites, but I'm starting to enjoy it. My girlfriend said it reminded her of incense. She liked it. 6,5/10 Edit: I smell a bit Cartier Declaration in it, now!

To my nose, Lipizzan is a barbershop fougère fragrance. It reminds me of both YSL Kouros and Chanel Antaeus but is definitely its own thing. The opening is very fresh, and rather quickly, it dries down to this "hairy, sweaty" vibe, very much like Kouros in that regard. And when the "hairiness" goes away, you get this clean yet manly scent similar to Antaeus. I can see how a lot of people can dislike Lipizzan, but I personally appreciate this a lot. If you like Kouros or Antaeus, you'd probably like this too. Definitely sample first.

A classic-style perfume with predominance of herbs and spices. At first there is a subtle citrus notes, but herbs dominate the smell from start to the end of dry down. There is the presence of a kind of "sweat aroma" that can bother some people (like my wife). Need to check on your skin before buy. Its performance is good on my skin, but is inferior to other perfumes of the PdM house. Usually 8 plus hours. A purely masculine fragrance. I like it, but I don't recommend a blind buy.

Has a very herbal tonic feel to it, I get lots of herbs, tarragon stands out to me the most, surprisingly. Doesn't last quite as long as others from PdM, but better performance than your average fragrance, still pretty long lasting. Very natural smelling ingredients in everything from this brand. Has a classic feel to it and very manly, almost overly so. I like it, but not bottle worthy to me. Gonna finish my sample and that's probably it for me on this one.

Classic masculine soapy fougere. Well done classic men's cologne, soapy and fresh without being a lightweight. Interesting use of clary sage! I really enjoy it when perfumers use this note - I used it a lot in my natural skin care formulations and so am always surprised to find it in a fragrance. Fresh and clean.

Parfums De Marly Lippizan EDP opens with a strong projection of spicy, mossy, musky, floral, and green notes. The opening is bold, challenging, classy, mature, intense, and unique. The oakmoss, clary sage, thyme, galbanum, and vetiver are the opening most prominent notes. The oakmoss is a strong, inky, earthy, bitter, and musky note; the clary sage and galbanum add a noticeable and intensely green, bitter, spicy, and herbaceous note. As the fragrance enters its dry down, a pinch of rose and jasmine is noticeable, along with an important sweet resinous amber and a sweet vanilla note that softens the initial and very harsh accords. The fragrance has a few but noticeable opening to dry down changes, the opening is very harsh, intense, sharp, spicy, green, mossy, musky, and musky. As time passes, this initial intensity subsides, the vanilla and amber develop smoothing out all sharp edges, cutting down some of that initial muskiness, and adding a needed sweetness to the fragrance. Finally, the initial strong projection takes two steps down to low. Once Parfums De Marly Lippizan EDP has reached its full dry down, it can be summarized as a moderate to low projection, classy, oakmoss, herbaceous, clary sage, galbanum, tarragon, vetiver, spicy, thyme, cardamom, sweet vanilla, and woody fragrance with floral, and leathery and resinous amber accords. The fragrance feels bold, casual, classy, complex, dated, dense, slightly dirty, earthy, elegant, exotic, expensive, formal, grassy, green, herbaceous, intense, masculine, mature, mossy, musky, old-fashion, resinous, sweet, warm, woody, and pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2020. WOW RATING: 8/10. An impressive, classy, mossy, herbaceous, green, spicy, and sweet fragrance. DISLIKE RATING: 7/10. The fragrance feels bold, casual, classy, complex, dated, dense, slightly dirty, earthy, elegant, exotic, expensive, formal, grassy, green, herbaceous, intense, masculine, mature, mossy, musky, old-fashion, resinous, sweet, warm, woody, and pleasant.

Got a sample of this one and decided it wasn't for me after about an hour of wear. Didn't want to take a shower to remove it, so I sprayed Givenchy pour homme over it to cover the scent...It wouldn't go away. I sprayed some Givenchy Boisee over it.....it wouldn't go away. I then, as a last resort, sprayed some Givenchy gentleman edp over it, and it finally went away. Kind of. I still got wafts of it from time to time. So if nothing else this thing is a beast projection-wise, and won't die easily. All that being said, It's not an awful scent and I can appreciate how well-blended it is. For me, this one screams spring. Fresh and herbal with a subtle creamy leather supporting everything.

If you want to get acquainted with the scent of Chypre perfumes, I recommend that you try this one (Especially the first half hour). For someone who tests the perfume in the shop and buys based on it; Its initial bitterness and sharpness smell can be a negative point for marketing and buying this perfume. First of all, it can be said that it is a classic Chypre perfume. After passing through the initial smell, The middle note of the perfume calms down a bit, and that intense sharpness at the beginning of the perfume diminishes. At this stage, the smell of oak moss appears, and those various and diverse bitter plant compounds become a bit calmer. I can say that if you can deal with that smell for the first one to one and a half hours, then you will reach a lovely smell, and after about 2 hours, it will create a very slight sourness and a special green-loving herbal state. I wish it didn't exist for the first hour; In that case, there would be supreme. It is a perfume that I do not recommend buying without testing. First of all, many people may not like the smell of intense bitterness and sharpness, and it is more similar to classic perfumes than modern perfumes. .عطری هست که واقعا شیپق بودنش رو از همون ابتدا القا میکنه. شروع طوفانی با تلخی خیلی زیاد و تیزی زیاد برای کسی که عطر رو در مغازه تست میکنه و بر اساس اون خریداری میکنه؛ بوی ابتدایی تلخ و تیز اون میتونه یک نکته ی منفی برای بازاریابی و خرید این عطر بشه. اولش میشه گفت که یک عطر شیپق کاملا کلاسیک هستش. بعد از طی شدن بوی نت ابتدایی؛ نت میانی عطر یک کم آرامش پیدا میکنه و اون تیزی شدید اول عطر کم میشه. در این مرحله بوی خزه بلوط نمایان میشه و اون ترکیبات مختلف و متنوع گیاهی تلخ یک مقداری آروم میشوند. میشه گفت بعد از سپری شدن نتهای ابتدایی و رسیدن به مراحل آخر نت میانی بوی عطر دیگه اون شیپغ تند و تلخ نیست و با عطری دلنشین و کمی سبز رنگ مواجه هستیم میتونم بگم که اگه بتونید با اون بوی یک تا یک ساعت و نیم اولش کنار بیایید بعدش به یک بوی دوست داشتنی خواهید رسید و بعد از حدود ۲ ساعت یک ترشی خیلی کم و اون حالت گیاهی سبزدلبری خاصی ایجاد میکنه. کاشکی و کاشکی اون یک ساعت اولش وجود نداشت ؛ در اون صورت معرکه میشد عطری هست که به هیچ وجه توصیه نمیکنم که بدون تست کردن خریداری بشه. چون اولش که بوی چیپق رو خیلی از افراد ممکنه که دوست نداشته باشند؛‌ در ضمن بیشتر به عطرهای کلاسیک شبیه هست تا عطرهای مدرن

Hahaha. Somebody had warned me about this upon my first sniff, it smells like armpit” he said. First 5-10 seconds in the opening I got lots of herbs smell and I thought hmm...it’s not that bad, I can handle this. Then when the whiff of those beautiful herbs fading away, the armpit smell started to peek through, and god I got a good laugh out of it! This is my first PDM that I got my nose into. I don’t really care for this brand as it doesn’t seem to fit into my collection. I still got 14 decants to go through (thanks to my super generous friend who sent me all of his PDM collection to test), and I hope I would find something I like from the house. While typing this, I just went back to smell it again (on paper of course) and it’s totally a smell of BO! Whyyyyyyy?? All in all it’s quite an experience tho. So not recommend this Lippizan from PDM unless you want to walk around smelling like a sweaty armpit. 😝

It is an interesting scent. It has a barbershop vibe at first but then after about 30 minutes it smells almost exactly like a local middle eastern shop/grocery store. Now that isn't a good thing as it smells like rose, incense, some lavender, and, yes, body odor. I'm bugged as this scent is the first time I have gotten a body odor scent off cardamom. I hope it hasn't ruined the other scents I have that contain cardamom for me. I own quite a few.

راستش این عطر بوی بسیار خاصی داره از اون بویایی که تو عطرای دیگه پیدا نمیشه .ولی این خاص بودن دلیل بر عالی بودن نیست. یک ساعت اول که به شدت زننده بود بره من طوری که نمی تونستم تستی که در دستم زده بودم رو بو کنم. بعدشم که ملایم شد اصلا از بوش خوشم نیومد. خلاصه به سلیقه من نمی خوره این عطر. اصلا

با احترام به نظرات دوستان و با کرنش برابر این برند سلطنتی باید بگم هیچیک از کارهای این برند را دوست ندارم.البته کمی شگیا و کمی گادولفین به دلم نشست ولی همه عطرهاشون مثل خود مردان فرانسوی!زنونه و فمینین هستن.انگار هرچی گل تو کاخ بوده داخل عطرها ریختن

I really try to be objective with a scent and respect it for what it is, and really try and push the boundary of things to wear, but this is the first time I’ve ever gagged on a perfume and had to actually scrub this shit. Very very very woody and mossy but there’s just something literally revolting in this that I don’t care to find out more, it’s how I imagine someone who hasn’t bathed in a week to smell like

کارهای کمپانی مارلی با آن همه سابقه جزو عطریات مجلل و گران قیمت محسوب میشوند و به تعبیری امپریال و سلطنتی هستند سازنده این عطریات نام چند اسب مورد علاقه خود را بر روی محسولاتش گذاشته است عطرهایش بیشتر از روایح سنگین و گلهای پر عطر و دوام گرفته شده است در کل شاید بعضی ایرانیها نوع بوی آنرا نپسندند اما خیلی ها نیز فقط از این برند استفاده نموده و عطر دیگری خریداری نمیکنند همانند وفاداری بعضی از خریداران به مارکهای لباس و ساعت در کل اگر مورد پسندتان واقع شود کارهای بسیار مجلل و فاخری به حساب میآیند این کار مارلی نیز مناسب است شیک کلاسیک سنگین دوام و رایحه خیلی خوب از لحاظ آمبولانژ و شیشه جزو بهترین و مرغوبترین شیشه های عطر در دنیا محسوب میشود یعنی بیشتر و شاید بگویم تمام شیشه های عطرهایش کریستال خالص میباشند با آن طراحی سلطنتی ای که دارد در همه جا پیدا نمیشود و در سطح تهران چند فروشگاه بیشتر آنرا ندارند قبل از خرید اگر توانستید جایی تست کنید حتما تست کنید چون بعد از خرید اگر پشیمان شوید با رقم مبلغ حدود 300 هزار تومان به بالایی که دارد تا 450 هزار تومان خیلی عطرهای دیگر میتوانید تهیه نمایید اما اگر پسندیدید مطمئنا یک شاهکار را در اختیار خواهید داشت در کل اگر برای این چند عطر کمپانی مارلی مطالبی تقریبا یکی نوشته ام چون از خیلی لحاظ از بابت آمبولانژ و حتی نزدیکی رایحه ها بیکدیگر با مقداری تغییر مشابهت دارند و در بین این چند عطر مردانه این برند قدیمی و معروف در بین رجال پولدار دنیا همان دارلی شاقیا و طلایی آن میباشد از این لحاظ مطالب را در نزدیک بهم نوشته ام

Oh my...this is horrible! I ordered 6 or so samples of Parfum De Marley, in addition to visiting Nordstrom this week. They have some really wonderful fragrances, and some..... not so good. Quality is one thing. The quality is ALWAYS there. With that being said, you can eat a meal of beautifully aged steak and a cold water lobster tail, table side Caesar, and fine red wine. Later .... when you go to the restroom, guess what? Great ingredients, smells like you know what. What human being wound want to smell like this? I’ve been in cabs in NY City that smell similar to this. Guess what? They didn’t spend $200 to smell awful.... just a few pennies. I love Oajan.... Layton, Shagya,and Godolphin. I’m stunned at some of their releases. Thank goodness I was astute enough to get samples. Big pass on this one... even though the dry down after an hour or two isn’t nearly as foul as the opening. I can’t imagine who would want to smell like a gas station convenience store at 2:00 A.M. Careful with blind PDM purchases.

با سلام یه بحث کلی در مورد این برند در عطرهای این برند از روایح خاص استفاده شده کلاس قیمت آن نسبتا بالاست برای بنده که علاقه ویژه و شدیدی به عطر دارم حتما باید از همه کارای این برند رو داشته باشم و یه با حداقل استفاده کنم برای خرید ان حتما باید ان را استشمام کنید اگر بوی آن را پسند کردین بدون درنگ و تامل خرید کنید چرا که در حال خرید یه کار حرفه ای میباشید که از همه نظر عالی می باشد با احترام

I don't know if this is getting hate from younger guys or what? If you're a guy that likes classic and classy perfumery this is absolutely a must. There's a few left on Fragrancenet for about $147. It is discontinued and it's worth that for the fragrance alone but there's performance too! So old guys and wanna be old guys this is a must while you can still get it.

First few minutes it smells wonderful, almost like vintage Aramis. After an hour or two, a sweat-like note starts to appear. That can be off putting for most people. If you're into stinky sweaty compositions then this is definitely for you. I really do love the opening but the drydown is a disappointment for me. 7/10

I was shocked, complete garbage! And I am a Marly House lover 100%
