I love it, too; and am honestly shocked that with an uptick in the fascination with vintage modern on social media platforms this fragrance hasn't been embraced more by the fragrance community. Maybe the gluttony of gourmand chocolates & vanillas added to literally everything on the market has tainted the minds of the masses that the expectation is for every fragrance to be foodie, dessert like, sugary sweet..... This is a classic Victorian pure purple floral.🪻🌸💜 I'm confused how someone can wish this smelled like violets? as this is thee violetest of the violets. Marie Antoinette would have loved this. It's clean 🫧, floral, somehow juicy yet "powdery" at the same time. A streamlined, classy yet super playful, fresh violet option; fit for royalty. I enjoy violet in perfumery, so this scratches the itch. It says it has lavender, the bottle is purple. Yet I see comments complaining it smells like lavender? When did the community become a hub for complaining Karens and Shaniquas? Just because it doesn't have vanilla, milk, sugar, or a corny title full of popular buzzwords (Kayali👀) doesn't make it a horrible fragrance. I don't understand all the hate for the pretty purple floral. Ok, rant over.

Once I started seeing the negative reviews I had a feeling I’d like it. This is a love for me and my current favorite fragrance at the moment. When I first tried it on a tester strip, I liked it but wasn’t super impressed. It wasn’t until I wore it on my skin that I really started loving it. My husband also loves this on me and comments on it whenever I wear it. It’s balanced and not heavy on one specific note. It’s a feminine citrusy-violet-woody fragrance with a freshness. I detect a touch of vanilla in the base that rounds it out so it doesn’t go sharp. It’s feminine but not girly. The dry down is my favorite. The projection is moderate but lasts on my skin all day. Is it overpriced? Well, I think all fragrances are overpriced. So for me it comes down to really enjoying a fragrance and wanting to wear it. And if I do, then I’ll buy a bottle. I did purchase this on sale though and I generally avoid paying full retail as much as possible. For reference the only other PdM I really like is Safanad. I strongly dislike all the Delina’s, especially Delina Exclusif as it makes me nauseous.

Beautiful. And this is coming from someone who was unable to like any of the viral PDM perfumes. It is a gorgeously fruity and slightly soapy flower field that leaves a trace behind it's wearer. I can almost imagine myself head to toe in soft white cotton, walking through the sea of violets during the sunset on a summers day. It does not scream potent bomb of notes in your face like the rest of PDM perfumes, which is probably why I like it way more than the other ones, but it works wonders after applying the correct amount and waiting some time for it to settle on your skin. It starts to softly radiate off of you and, if it matches your PH, oh, what an elegant beauty it is. It does slightly remind me of Insolence (comparing to the new version, not sure about the OG Insolence) but to me it is way more feminine and bright. Just a gorgeous blend of feminine notes, proving once again that class never goes out of style. Edit: Just realised what it reminded me of - Solo Ella by Loewe! Pear, Orange, Violets and Flowers. Gorgeous, but Palatine is way more sophisticated.

This is beautiful! It blooms throughout the day. Something about it reminds me of a lighter violet infused version of Guerlain Samsara’s original formula. Which I guess this is why it’s being compared to a lighter version of Insolence( I’ve never smelled Insolence, which is why I thought of a violet infused Samsara)There’s something in here that smells like Guerlain dna in the best of ways. At first spray I thought I was getting a generic, but pretty, “shampoo” scent like Chloe, but the opening is the weakest part! This blooms throughout the day and is just the perfect powdery violet with a touch of fruitiness. This doesn’t need layering but this would smell very nice with VCRS’s or La Belle’s syrupy pear note if you wanted to add a bit more sweetness to it. Not a safe blind buy, unless you love powdery violets! I blind bought this off of the notes, and have zero regrets .

I'm going straight to the point here, it smells like an intense/deeper version of any typical citrusy-floral body lotion that you can get at Bath&Body Works, doesn't smell cheap at all but gives off designer perfumes vibes. Smells better on skin yet lasts way longer on fabrics (lasted for days on my pillow sheet). I couldn't detect the base notes very well but the top notes (bergamot) was going hand-in-hand with the heart notes (violet flowers). Versatile, not overwhelming at all, Palatine is my 3rd favorite of the line for now but she unfortunately doesn't deserve that price point compared to the other princesses. EDIT after 3 months of use: Yall she grew on me, she smelled like how she looks and I got no sense of designer perfume from her. I'm soooooo using Palatine everyday, even more than Delina La Rosee (which used to be my no.1)

Well I love it! With an enthusiasm of the moment, because there are some downsides. I've already read: happy, uplifting, young, naive, fresh scent... At the first sniff, Palatine brought me back to my childhood so instantly, like no perfume before. It reminds me of a young mom, or a school teacher, who is in her late 20s or early 30s, can't spot a wrinkle on her face, but at the same time, she is mature and serious, proper and polite, leaving a good impression of someone reliable, collected, trustworthy. It definitely brings me some happy memories and for that I am putting it on my wishlist. Downside sadly as usual, it's very gentle and I have a feeling it will disappear in 1-3 hours. Still it would make a good office scent, non offensive, fresh, feminine but not seductive.

I don't understand all the negative reviews, okay perfume is personal and everyone has a different taste, but I really think some reviews seem like this is a terrible perfume. I think it is very good and wearable, it is fresh in the opening, gives an uplifting vibe, self-confidence, the drydown is the best in my opinion, soft and cozy. For me this is a fragrance that I can wear any time, any season, I understand that people expect a special scent, especially from a niche brand, personally I prefer a wearable scent that you can wear at any time. I loved this from the first spray, price is indeed on the high side but for me this perfume is worth it. I also like Valaya but sometimes find it too loud, which can be done at any place/time.

Love it! I tested it on my skin, clothes and paper at the airport. I love violets and vanilla, so this is it. I think I finally found my perfect " romantic clean girl" scent, which is soapy. Unfortunately on paper the next day is just soapy, but the most pleasant one I've tested to date. Bonus: it's NOT melancholic, like the Guerlain Insolence and it smells more youthful and modern. Extra bonus: its sandalwood does NOT smell like BO to my nose as 99% of them do. Thanks God 😅✨🪻🤍 Layered with the mandarin one (Athenais) it gets much better with a playful youthful fun personality. 🍊🟠🧡💛🪻🤍✨ 9/10 for my "clean girl" scents. That's romantic, too, due to the violets.

Soapy powdered violet is the best way to describe this , it’s heavenly! , the initial spray is so much different from the dry down it starts strongly with pear ,I could smell something very subtle almost like lavender no patchouli at all thankfully , and as it dries the violet starts to kick in with the sandalwood and musk then you could barely smell the pear it’s a simple one however you could guess it’s expensive but I do agree it’s not worth the full price of it ( no perfume is) , honestly I was surprised by the reviews here everyone on my region thinks its lovely and so do I , silage and longevity is good as expected with de Marly

The way this perfume develops is just so good. Smells like sweet candy violets that develops into a candy violet meets a fresh powder deodorant scent. I was expecting something bad or less impressive due to other reviews of this fragrance but I'm glad I didn't let those reviews stir me away. It is just the right amount of powder without being overwhelming to add freshness but it's a modern powdery sweet violet not an old-fashioned floral perfume in any way. Just smells soft fresh and sweet. Every time the wind blows, or I get a whiff I fall more in love with this perfume. Such a relaxing comforting fragrance. A perfect fresh scent.

I love this fragrance, she’s soft, feminine, clean without being too soapy. Reminds me of taking a luxurious bubble bath. To me this fragrance is for the times when I want a fragrance but I want something on the fresh, feminine side. This fragrance is very unique I don’t have anything like it in my collection and since getting it I’ve been wearing it often and have been enjoying the fragrance and the compliments I receive. I love PDM fragrances! I recommend this for anyone who likes clean, fresh, feminine scents. This is not an overpowering fragrance but it’s not supposed to be which I appreciate. Definitely recommend!

This was love at first sniff. It’s not too strong and not a gourmand perfume but it’s beautiful! I love the powdery violet, pear, orange, lavender and musk. There is also slight sweetness to it from the vanilla note. I compare it to Guerlain Insolence a little but Palatine is more sweet and more beautiful in my opinion. I wish it was a stronger perfume with longer lasting power (gives me 4-6 hours only) and better silage. It’s more like a skin scent on me but I do get whiffs of it time to time. This is beautiful spring and summer scent in my opinion.

I smelled it from a tester and fell in love! It’s so close to the clean, fresh laundry scent I’ve been searching for. feminine, soft, and airy. It has this refined powdery floral elegance that gives it a luxurious feel to me, even if it does lean a bit vintage. The only thing stopping me from getting it right now is the price... and the fact that my mom said it smells like a grandma. Still, I can’t shake how much I adore ittttt, soft, sophisticated, and comforting. I’m sure I’ll get it someday.

I got a sample Palatin and it is more strong as it was when it's released so it needed to be macerate. I like it in spring much more than in nowember. Palatine is a beautifule modern, ultra feminin violet scent wrapped in plush musk cloud. I like it very much! The sillage is average and longevity is 5-6 hours but it" s ok for me becouse it is a fragile sping flower don't need to be a powerhorse. My next Marly purchase will be!

Palatine is a great light floral fragrance. It is one of the few fragrances that my husband has said he really likes. Every time I wear it, he compliments me on how I smell. It isn't overly sweet. There is a fresh floral aroma when first sprayed and then it dries down to a lovely violet with hints of musk. I think this is a safe, inoffensive fragrance that could be worn in an office environment.

The violet transforms into a soft, luminous floral cloud, and the musk dry down melts into a beautiful sandalwood skin scent. It feels like vintage elegance reimagined for today. I was so excited to try this when PDM announced it, and it didn't disappoint me. It's actually a really good and special version of violet; I liked how it's so powdery and magnificent. It can't be one of the PDM's top 3 but it's elegant anyway. I have been trying this for a few days, and would I buy it at some point? Yes. Would I buy it immediately, no.

We tend to expect something extravagant from a perfume that has this price range..but it doesn't mean Palatine is not beautiful..it's not too powdery..it's fresh,bright,sweet,sophisticated fruity flowery type of scent it very suitable to be a signature scent..or easy reach for going out in daylight or just feeling pretty around the house iykyk

The only feminine PDM fragrance I enjoy. Not because I'm a guy and think wearing fragrances marketed toward women is a no-go. But because they just don't resonate with me. I tried Palatine, Coco Chanel and Coco Mademoiselle in Nordstrom and loved all of them. I might get them all sometime soon.

Beautiful combo of pear, violet and musk. I love it but admittedly it does not last as long as I thought it would (coming from Delina Exclusif which is a beast). Fades after 4 hours, and in the last half it goes more powdery which doesn’t bother me but may disappoint others

Very pretty, soft perfume. Easy to wear anytime. Completely feminine. I'm not a huge PDM fan, but I did buy this one. I actually think this would be really nice for Spring and summer. The violet now is so nice.

So pretty! Yes it's soapy but in a 90s Gap kind of way, a very nostalgic clean floral that's also very happy and feels like the color of the bottle

This is what I think my girlfriend would smell like.

In short: a skin scent for people with deep pockets... At length: I was excited at first. Perhaps I was, like the others, anticipating something beastly—but with sparkling, devilish violet this time! Saw it online for a discount so considerable I figured that if it was a dud but in a nice bottle, I’d at least have that. But it turns out I got the real thing, and despite the handling of the fragrance my kneejerk reaction was, “that’s it?” The copy suggests a daring violet, but it honestly just sparkles with a translucency that mirrors its bottle. The perfume is definitely contemporary—taking on modern perfumery’s brushstrokes as well as nodding to a few modern violet-forward fragrances: Daisy, Insolence and Bare are what I sense, but there may be more. This fragrance’s performance pales compared to the previous feminine release, Valaya. Perhaps the comparison isn’t fair—despite those issues, I find the fragrance itself pleasant! The notes are balanced and not screechy—the choice of lavandin as opposed to a more full-bodied lavender feels deliberate, and I can understand the vision. Despite the scripted bergamot and pear encounter, mandarin adds an almost edible warmth and sweetness to the top notes and they blend beautifully with the violet-led bouquet in the heart. I sense waxy flower accords in the mix—peony? magnolia?—and a touch of jasmine and rose. Lavandin keeps the bouquet feeling fresh and cool. A base hinging on a sweetened sandalwood-musk combination reminds me of a much smoother, softer version of Bare’s drydown. I’d argue that this perfume isn’t linear, but I’d imagine that most will only smell one phase of the perfume in the air, and for a few hours at that. This perfume is difficult to dislike in the abstract, but in the context of niche pricing and a suggestion of a more remarkable fragrance profile I can see how it disappoints. I can see it wearing just fine in all but the hottest and coldest temperatures. Not bold enough to be a statement perfume, but could be an easy daily signature, perfect for casual dates and daytime gatherings. Because of the surprising lasting power (the base really does become a second skin), I’d buy this at a basic designer price. Had I not gotten it for an insane gray market price, I think I’d have been just fine without it. Biggest pro is the exquisiteness of the violet. It’s dainty, dewy and fresh. It’s not dense enough to read as violet candy to me, and it’s not very lipsticky or powdery. In general, I think this perfume is well-handled. But I’m on the fence as to whether that warrants niche prices and a criminal pink tax.

Indeed she is very beautiful, but sadly Palatine is also painfully generic... you can absolutely find this elsewhere for much cheaper! This is a paint-by-numbers violet perfume that opens very fresh and aquatic with the pear and dries down soapy and powdery, then later takes on a slight woody and lactonic touch thanks to the sandalwood (sandalwood often reads 'creamy' to me, idk about others!). The violet is present through the majority of the wear time for me which is a bonus. I knew it reminded me of something else and the suggestions are correct - it IS like The Favourite, somewhat. Though that one not only leans sweeter (akin to Parma Violets) but also has a prominent mimosa note, so they're not 1:1. An alternative I'd suggest is Molinard Violette, which is extremely similar to The Favourite so again not a 'dupe' for Palatine but they all have a very similar vibe, and even at full RRP it costs nearly 75% less (£65 vs £245). The longevity isn't great either, which is typical for this scent profile but when you're paying nearly £250... yeesh. It's also a stark contrast to their last release, since Valaya lasts 24h+ on my skin and weeks on my clothes! My final verdict is to just buy Violette lol. In the UK you can buy a sample from Bloom for about £3 if you're not one for blind buys :)

This reminds me of something I smelled in my childhood or early teens. I am trying to scramble my brain to figure out what exactly I am thinking of but I am still not sure. I believe it is some kind of hair or make-up product due to the powdery aspect of this perfume. Even though the smell in my mind must be nearing the 20-year-old mark this perfume still doesn’t smell dated in any way. It is sweet and fresh in its top notes, and with that perfect amount of powder without making it into one of those old make-up powdery scents. When this dries down a lot of the notes end up mixing together and I struggle to pick them apart. Unfortunately, I never get any peach, and just slightly some pear. The violet is detectable and fresh, but the base notes are throwing me off. Vanilla? Where? Patchouli? Maybe? Sandalwood? Never. Musk? Myeaaah, I guess? Well, it really does not matter though, because it does deliver. The scent is fresh and perfect for spring, and it is slightly unique even though it could borderline remind me of some popular designer scents. The longevity is quite good, but it fades down after around 4 hours and transforms into a more skin-like scent. It is still detectable, but the sillage is intimate. I did not order this sample myself, but I ended up really liking this one!

#FirstImpressions প্রথম যখন পারফিউমের bottle-টি দেখেছিলাম তখনই অসম্ভব সুন্দর লেগেছিল। কিন্তু যেহেতু আজকাল আমি ব্লাইন্ড বাই কম করি তাই ভেবেছিলাম এইটা ট্রাই করতেই হবে। অবশেষে sample ট্রাই করতে পারলাম। প্রথমেই বলতে হয় বোতলটি পারফিউমের স্মেলটিকে একদম ১০০% justify করেছে। এটি Violet হেভি একটি পারফিউম। তবে এটি candid violet না বরং powdery violet। স্প্রে করার পরে আমি juicy pear ও হালকা citrusy ভাইব পেয়েছি তবে citrusy ভাইব বেশিক্ষণ স্টে করে না। Juicy pear আর powdery violet-এর সাথে Clean musk মিলে একটা সুন্দর, elegant ও delicate স্মেল সৃষ্টি করে যা গরম ওয়েদারে বেষ্ট লাগে। ড্রাই ডাউনেও powdery woody clean একটা Aura থাকে যা সত্যিই Classy ও Feminine। প্রোজেক্ট করে খুব সুন্দরভাবে আর scent trail রেখে যায়। যারা out of the shower টাইপের ফ্লোরাল পাউডারি পারফিউম পছন্দ করেন তাদের Palatine ভালো লাগবে। তবে যাদের মাইগ্রেন আছে তারা অবশ্যই ট্রাই করে এরপর Full Bottle কিনবেন। সবশেষে বলবো আমার কাছে ব্যক্তিগতভাবে Palatine ভালো লেগেছে। From the presentation to the smell this captures elegance and feminity in a bottle 💜 #bangla #bangladesh

I can only echo the previous reviews: nice and nothing special. Not worth the price. Violet and musk with some citrus. The opening is quite fresh, the violet shows its powdery side only two hours after spraying it on. At some whiffs the musk reminds me of drugstore fragrances, but it never gets to unbearable territory. I prefer the drydown, it reminds me of Guerlain violets, fresh and powdery in the same time. (I am not a fun of violets in perfumery by the way.) After 6 hours it is a lovely, creamy skin scent, smells like an expensive lotion, I can’t stop smelling my arms, but it has no projection at all at this phase. Not worth the price and for violet lovers I would rather suggest to buy the newer versions of Apres l’Ondee and/or Insolence. It is an indoors fragrance, it gets a little screechy outside. Projection: low to moderate. Longevity: ? Audience: any age group, more suitable for women +: not linear, inoffensive -: boring, average performance, bad price/value ratio

Top Notes Mandarin, Bergamot, Pear Heart Notes Violet Petal, Lavandin, Floral bouquet Base Notes Sandalwood, Patchouli, Musk, Vanilla When I first smelled this I really didn't like it, there was a note that smelled so off on my skin and I couldn't place it. I put it away and brought her back out this morning after someone asked for a recommendation for a clean soapy scent. Let me tell you 😍 I enjoy her now and don't detect whatever was off putting to my nose before. Right away I can smell citrus - a burst of freshness. I wouldn't call it juicy per se but clean and fresh. As it dries down I can really pick up the violet and soft powdery notes. I don't smell any vanilla but I do get a a bit of sandalwood, which adds something special- a depth. It's a great fresh out of the shower clean soapy lightly floral scent. I imagine I would wear this to the gym, out running errands or even to bed. She's subtle, innocent, soft, feminine - she's purple. And that bottle is gorgeous!

Complete pyramid (according to Parfums de Marly): Top notes: Mandarin, bergamot, pear Heart notes: Violet petals, lavandin, floral bouquet Base notes: Sandalwood, Patchouli, vanilla, musk An opening made of citrus fruits (mandarin and bergamot) quickly overtaken by vanilla, then by a floral aspect that I see, at first, rather made of white flowers. The violet comes next but is really very soft, it's not an overpowering scent, rather skillfully mixed with the rest. It's sweet without excess and there's a little fresh side. My nose detects neither lavender nor pear. I find it very pleasant, very pretty but it strongly reminds me of a perfume that I already know or perhaps even several different perfumes that we would have combined. I can't put my finger on it. Palatine is adorable and cute, perfect for all occasions, except that €260 for a perfume reminiscent of other already known perfumes is a bit exaggerated. Sad.

The main notes I get is violet, pear, powder, and sweetness. This is a VERY sweet, powdery dominant fragrance. It's on baby powder territory. It's like, if someone made a high end, very sweet version of baby powder for adult women, this would be it. This is a big projector for about 15 minutes but then it settles back in very quickly. I kinda feel like this fragrance would fit that scene in mean girls perfectly. When Lindsay Lohan gets told that she smells like a baby prostitute. That's the vibe this fragrance gives me.🤣 If you like that powder/violet in Fragrances like Barakkat Satin oud, then I feel like you may also enjoy this. I can't stress this enough, if you don't like a sickly sweet, powder BOMB of a fragrance, then this may not be for you. The powder and sickly sweet violet is the main star of this fragrance, in my opinion.

It offers a prolonged out of shower feel that fits professional environment. It has a romantic quality but is clean, subtle and fresh. Out of the top I feel a juicy pear that pairs nicely with violets of the heart and it sits on a transparent base of musk with a dash of patchouli. Abstract floral notes are also there and the smallest dose of fresh lavender. It has a very calm aura but it is a beautiful scent for a pretty and feminine person. 4 hours on and I no longer feel it around me. Only with my nose close to my wrist. 6hours in and on the skin just a sugary afterscent remains, not even the drydown. Tocca Maya is a better violet scent of a lacy, sheer floral that lasts 8 hours. ETA: it was very hot at night, I could not sleep and a warm, creamy scent emanated from my neck. Probably the missing Palatine's drydown.

I do agree with the notion that Palatine is a beautiful, but not in anyway outstanding scent. To me, it's very floral, to the brink of almost being cloying. I miss the musk, the patchouli, the sandalwood, the pear, and most of all, the bergamot and mandarin. The flowers keep on coming on very strong, so I imagine this being more suited for colder climates in the early spring or late fall. Bearing in mind Marly's vision of recreating the 18th century through perfumery, I feel Palatine might be their piece de resistance - it feels so refined, so classic and exquisite, but also oh, so familiar. Adding the rather high price to the equation, makes me think that if you really fall for this, then go ahead and treat yourself. To me, it's not the main actor in a sea of other talents, but a very sturdy support actor.

Wow, I feel like I had a very different experience from other commenters. I sampled this fragrance twice and wore it on skin both times. I'll admit it was not impressive on first sniff but I loved the middle and base notes. I don't get any citrus in the top actually, just some very ripe pear with some generic purple florals. After about 30 minutes though, the violet really came through. I got a subtle powderiness. There was this creamy fluffy sweetness and woods in the dry down, and the florals still shone through all the way till the end. I feel like this would turn some heads. It's definitely got a date-night vibe. I liked this a lot. Smells expensive. Maybe not the most creative of scents, so I think it's not worth the high price. I do think it's nice, so it's worth a sample.

This one took me a couple of tries but im coming around to liking it. I tried it on in the store and on initial sniff it was a scrubber because that violet was too strong for me. However, it sat on a sample paper in my purse and I would smell it every time I opened my purse and it really grew on me, and now I am able to smell the violet without being reminded of violet candies. I definitely see where people are coming from when they say its safe and a little boring, but I think that powdery violet quality makes it stand out a *little*. If it was a designer perfume and not a PDM one, I could see it being more popular. That being said for this price and following a hit like Delina, its still a tad boring. I like it, but its boring.

I got a sample of this perfume, and I agree with the longevity and the projection. It’s not really the best smells really good. Very soft. I wore it to my haircut appointment and my barber did smell it on me compliment and saying that I did smell really good. Again I had sprayed it within the 15 minutes and he’s pretty close, cutting my hair so you can smell it. It doesn’t linger for too long if you’re somewhere where there’s a lot of smells, you won’t be able to smell it. also similar to 1 Million for her By Paco Ro. & that one smells way way batter and stronger More feminine, that have similar nots. But yah I like it but Palatine needs more Unff..

Today I had the chance to meet with this fragrance. I can say that it is quite pleasant. To me it has a very similar base to the Roja Elysium Pour Femme fragrance. The only difference is that Elysium is louder and richer, while Palatine is softer with a hint of pear in it. However, what I notice most on myself is the sandalwood and musk base, slightly sweetened. It even feels like there's a hint of cedar nuts. Half an hour after applying it to the skin scent became to a light woody-powdery haze (my skin is warm). I think fans of this kind of fragrance will like it. But unfortunately nothing new 🤷🏻♀️

I’ve never cared about a perfume’s gender; not once. So I wore Palatine this morning with zero expectations, and definitely not fishing for compliments. I unexpectedly really liked this fragrance. It smells like a soft, powdery violet. This is how I imagine the color purple would smell. Very feminine, and powdery, and fluffy, but the particular powderiness you get from violets. The perfume is quite strong as well, which I like for longevity. However, something in the fragrance didn’t sit right with me and gave me a headache. I think if you enjoy violet in scents, you would like this. But if you are sensitive to powder notes or are prone to headaches, then I would test before buying.

I see a lot of people looking for that scent that smells like you just washed your hair with a fresh shampoo and stepped out of the shower. Well... this is it! It smells clean but in the classiest way. Fresh—but never boring. I honestly think it works perfectly as a signature scent, especially for those who love clean vibes. It’s great for everyday wear, but it can totally work for special occasions too—just layer it with something woody or oud-based, and the floral notes will blend beautifully with the depth.

I’ve owned a 5ml of this for a while and kind of forgot that I had it. It was a warmer day today and decided to give it a go. A vertical pretty and non offensive spring time office friendly scent. It’s sweet floral on opening but the drydown is where this really shines. I received a compliment From a random nurse who walked past me when I was waiting for an appt so it must have left a nice trail without assaulting nostrils. I am looking forward to wearing this again

I just bought a bottle of Palatine (happy early birthday to me!). This is such a beautiful feminine fragrance - a bright, sparkly violet and pear scent. It’s different from anything else I own, and I don’t understand the overblown hate this perfume gets (is it because it strays from the typical PDM DNA?). It’s uplifting and very wearable. And the translucent purple bottle is a visual delight too. Just looking at it on my perfume tray makes me happy 💜💜💜

I think the negativity comes from how not special this fragrance is for the price and the PDM image. It smells perfumey as in powdery florals, hints of citruses, and overall clean and easy to reach for. It’s a nice fragrance and the performance isn’t bad for me— about 5 hours on skin and all day on clothes. I enjoy it but wouldn’t pay full price since there are so many other soapy, basic (not necessarily negative) options you can replace this with.

Big fan of violets. This is a really pretty smelling perfume, but for this price.....? There are many better violet perfumes on the market. I find this a little bit boring. It’s beautiful, but not unique enough or complex considering the price. I like Accordo Viola L'Erbolario more. It’s also very simple more powdery but much cheaper. Celeste Giardini Di Toscana is more complex and unique I would rather get Celeste than Palatine.

I bought a sampler of several PDM fragrances. I thought this would be one I wouldn't like and ended up being the favorite. Typically lavenders smell too old, to earthy or overly mixed with vanilla. This is very wearable, calming and easy going with a touch of freshness can be worn anytime and anywhere and perfect for those who like bedtime fragrances. Beautiful lavender, violet mix.
