Safanad

I bought Safanad years ago and back then I loved it head to hills. I used about half of the bottle and slowly lost my interest. there were a lot of other perfumes I had that reminded me of Safanad. to name some: JPG Classique, Lancome LVEB Eclat, some Elie Saabs and Micallef Watch.Eventhough orange flower and vanilla are still two of my most favorite perfume notes, I felt I'm done with this scent profile and even some of the mentioned ones gave me headache. but recently I decided to try Safanad again and I was surprised to see I still find this perfume absolutely beautiful! The opening has an amazing bubbly,sparkly, sweet fruityness thanks to the pear note and it's one of the best pears you can find in a perfume.It's sweet as if it's a honeyed pear but it's not a cheap kind of sweetness. I also feel there's something like champagne in the opening.eventhough it evolves to something that's also beautiful, I wished the opening would last longer. after a while it's sweetness calms down a bit and it's floral heart starts to bloom and boy, what a gorgeous flowery scent. ylangylang is not one of my favorite floral notes. I usually feel it has bitterness and gives the scent a dated or too mature vibe or it's chewy and banana like and reminds me of banana bubble gums but not here. Safanad has a detectable ylangylang note but it's the best ylangylang I have ever experienced.I feel it's responsible for the sunny vibe and how sophisticated this perfume feels. orange blossom is even more high quality than the orange blossom in Elie Saab Le Parfum Intense. it's almost as good as the orange blossom note in Serge Lutens Fleur d'Oranger. iris is another challenging floral note for me and fortunately it's not heavy in here. just enough to add to the luxurious feeling of the scent. this beautifully balanced florals wrapped in amber-vanilla powderyness stay the main stars of the show on my skin for a while. the drydown is mostly orange flower, vanilla and amber. Except it's opening few minutes, I don't find it real sweet in other stages (albeit I'm a gourmand lover with a serious sweet tooth so read this with a grain of sugar).It's like a harmonious symphony all through it's life. there's nothing out of balance or cheap in this perfume.not too sweet,not too white floral,not too vanilla centered and not too powdery. she feels feminine,grown up,elegant, rich and sensual without trying too hard.she's beautiful and addictive and classy. I usually see white floral perfumes(gardenia,jasmine,tuberose) as perfect bridal scents but eventhough Safanad never screams the color white, i think it can be a great choice for a bride too. As mentioned before there are a lot of perfumes out there that have some similarities to this one but Safanad is the high quality, more balanced one so unlike it's cousins, this one never feels overwhelming and headache inducing.BTW I don't find Safanad and Love By Killian similar at all. Safanad is more grown up, more classy and more serious while LDBS is sweeter, more gourmand, more youthful and sexy in a naughty,girly way. they're both about orange flower and some sweet powderyness but all together they smell very different.I love both but I love LDBS more because it's more gourmand and more my style. شروع عطر با رایحه شیرین و شاداب و روشن گلابیه، یکی از بهترین گلابیهایی که میتونید تو عطرها پیدا کنید که شبیه گلابی آغشته شده تو عسله و کاملا شیرینه اما شیرینیش اصلا چیپ یا بچگونه نیست. ضمنا شروع عطر حالتی داره که انگار نت شامپاین هم داره. بعد از چند دقیقه، دوز شیرینی کمتر میشه و گلابی به پس زمینه میره و نتهای گلی غالب میشن. یلانگ یلانگ نتیه که من معمولا باهاش مشکل دارم. یا تلخی قدیمی طور و سن بالاطور به عطرها میده یا یادآور بوی آدامس موزیه اما تو سافاناد، میشه یکی از زیباترین یلانگ یلانگها رو تجربه کرد که بنظرم مسئول حس و حال آفتابی و روشن رایحه و همچنین مسئول بالغ بودن رایحه این عطره. زنبق یه نت چالش برانگیز دیگست اما اینجا چندان سنگین نیست فقط درحدیه که حس و حال لوکس عطر رو بیشتر کنه و شکوفه پرتقال که فوق العاده باکیفیت و زیباست. حتب از شکوفه پرتقال الی سابها هم بهتره و تقریبا درحد شکوفه پرتقال سرجی لوتنز فلور د اورنجر هست. تا یه مدت، رایحه غالب عطر ترکیب همین گلهای زیباست تو وانیل و امبر پودری و درای داونش عمدتا شکوفه پرتقاله درکنار وانیل و امبر بجز چند دقیقه اولش، نمیشه گفت زیادی شیرینه. ضمنا زیادی وایت فلورال، زیادی پودری یا زیادی وانیلی هم نیست. همه چی بالانس و باکیفیته. رایحه کاملا بالغ و زنونه، جذاب و شیک و گرون قیمت طوری داره و بنظرم حتی واسه عطر عروس مناسبه. عطرهای زیادی هستن که شباهتهایی به سافاناد دارن. از ژان پل گوتیه کلاسیک گرفته تا لانکوم لاویه اکلت و بعضی الی سابها و حتی تا حدودی هم میکالف واچ. اما سافاناد بنظرم بالانس ترین و باکیفیت ترینشونه و برخلاف بعضی از عطرهای نام برده سردردآور نیست. بنظرم چهارفصل تو هوای معتدل تا خنک قابل استفادست و ضمنا بنظرم هیچ شباهتی با لاو بای کلیان نداره

Safanad is my first bottle from PDM, I was never interested in this house. My friend told me that I would love this one so I ordered it and don't regret at all. The bottle is so pretty and I'm surprised how much I love the juice itself. Safanad is a rich composition with gorgeous, narcotic, natural smelling Orange Blossom with sweet Pear and Orange in the opening, both of them making the florals a bit sticky and candied. An addictive tropical breeze from luscious Ylang-Ylang and hypnotic jasmine melds enchantingly into the base where golden Amber, sweet attractive Vanilla and creamy Sandalwood complete the full-bodied blend. It’s bright and luminous, absolutely a scent of happiness. Safanad was released in 2012 and maybe it was quite unique back then, but nowadays it's not groundbreaking in any way, but it's still beautifully blended, the aroma is very rich and the scent lasts forever even on the skin. I think this can be too much for some people. I don't find this similar with "Classique (Eau de Toilette) | Jean Paul Gaultier" since this is brighter, not so complex and it doesn't have that sensual mysterious character which original blend of Classique had. There is Orange Blossom and many other same notes but Safanad is clearly candied Orange Blossom scent while all the notes in Classique are melting together and it evolves into sensual powdery scent and creates a seductive, irresistible veil into your skin. Even if Classique is more complex I think it's easier to wear. I think "Classique Intense | Jean Paul Gaultier" and "Le Parfum (Eau de Parfum) | Elie Saab" has more similar vibe with Safanad since those are bright, even a bit solar perfumes and the blends are simpler by focusing more on Orange Blossom than the blend of "Classique (Eau de Toilette) | Jean Paul Gaultier" does. An underrated fragrance from this house!! Safanad is absolutely beautiful, one of my favorites I've tried from Parfums de Marly. I recently purchased Cassili, and ended up returning it. For summer, I'd actually reach for Safanad over Cassili! Though I see that Safanad is not generally considered to be a summer fragrance, with the ylang ylang it's giving me summery vibes. Sophisticated summery vibes. Lots of ylang ylang in this fragrance... more than I expected! I'm a lover of ylang ylang so this works great for me, but if you're not a fan, this probably isn't a great option! I would consider it to be ylang ylang forward. At least to my nose! To me, this is a sophisticated fragrance. This does not strike me as an explicit in-the-second-half-of-your-life fragrance at all, I genuinely find Safanad to be incredibly diverse. I really think any age bracket (adult age bracket) can pull off this fragrance! It's just so pretty... and diverse! Though for me it is summer leaning, I genuinely think this fragrance would be beautiful year round... day or night! Strikes me as the type of scent that can be portrayed in many different ways, depending on you!! If you're in a sundress running errands, or in a little black dress and going to a show... I think this fragrance can come off in many different ways! Can be fun, playful, sexy, sophisticated... all up to the person it's living on! Very ylang ylang forward, heavily amber supported. Personally I'm not getting much pear (sadly), as I have a deep love for that note! That said, Safanad is beautifully done and masterfully blended, so really no complaints. I'm actually not really getting a ton of orange blossom, oddly enough. Regardless, it is lovely! Definitely full bottle worthy for me, however because I already own Ylang Ylang Nosy Be, I won't be adding Safanad to my collection just yet. My collection is quite small, so at the moment I must prioritize diversity!! HOWEVER... one day!! One day for certain!

Received a bottle today, and I'm so sorry I ever doubted this. Safanad is the most gorgeous heavenly orange blossom fragrance I have ever smelled, and the bottle just looks like an expensive liquor. This is what a goddess would smell like. I'm also getting wiffs of something sparkling, almost like soda? It really is magical. Edit: I've been wearing this for ages now, and I have a few more things to say. First spray, this smells like a syrupy, orange blossom marmalade fairy floss. Light, airy, but... syrupy. As it dries down, I get a lot more vanilla and sandalwood, and makes it so creamy and rich and gorgeous. A reviewer above said it smells like Love Don't be Shy and Alien (I'd say the essence absolue) had an illegitimate love child, and I think that's pretty spot on. Sometimes I forget I put this on, and I get whiffs of Egyptian Pumpkin Pie. It's called "kar assaly". It's basically a pumpkin base, topped with sweetened, creamy bechamel, often filled with sultanas and walnuts, and then baked to perfection. I wonder, "who the hell is making this?", but it's really just Safanad. A strange association, but I supposed the creamy vanilla, warm sandalwood, and syrupy orange blossom/amber is just reminiscent of the pumpkin + bechamel + sultana combo. Oh, and this is a compliment getter.

Absolutely gorgeous! Safanad is a masterpiece scent and my favorite orange blossom on the market. One of the most feminine things I’ve ever smelled and my signature scent most of the year- it feels extremely chic and ‘understated luxury’. This has presence but isn’t the type of scent that fills a room; it doesn’t announce your arrival because you don’t need it to. I get lots of compliments on this, especially when people come in for a hug. This opens with juicy, sweet mandarin orange and syrupy pear with a touch of bright petitgrain. They quickly transition to slightly solar florals (OB, Ylang & Jasmine- there is no Iris in this). The Orange Blossom here is perfectly balanced; not too sweet like LDBS or too soapy like La Fille de L’air. Ylang ylang contributes a lot of creaminess and brings a summery vibe (still wearable in 3 seasons). The dry down pulls you in with warm amber and ethereal vanilla. I tested Classique to see if I could get my signature scent at a lower price point. They are definitely not interchangeable. Classique feels heavier, more powdery, and vintage. And, I detect a distinctive ashy cigarette quality when smelling it up close. Safanad is ‘cleaner’, brighter, more modern, transparent and airy.

I've been dabbling in Amouage lately and I just got the PDM sampler set and total night & day in houses, just wow! PDM is def the "easy wear, easy pleasing" house... But anyway, onto the review! I was a little scared by the bottle, I'm not one for big and loud frags. But I should know by now, don't judge a fragrance by the bottle! This is a beautiful, warm and TAME orange blossom. It gets fresher and juicier (somehow) as it dries down. The comparison to Benevolence and Sintra is spot on! But those are reserved for cooler weather or evening wear for me and this is the daytime, warmer weather counterpart! It doesn't have that personality that Benevolence does. It could also be the reformulation... I don't have an old bottle to compare it to. While this is absolutely similar to the above two, it is not a dupe for either! It is different enough to warrant owning it and one (or both) Benevolence and Sintra. EDIT: OMG the quality is awful! This was gone in about 30 min. My Sintra and Benevolence blow this out of the water. Bev is my baby and I need maybe 3 sprays and in warm weather it will "rebloom" it lasts forever. I'm so bummed

I absolutely love this. Soft and beautiful. Sweet orange blossom at the top and vanilla as it dries down with brightness from the pear throughout. Sticks on to the skin like the memory of the beach as a child. Hazy and soft and sun-bleached. I can’t place what exactly the smell is. Orange creamsicles or suntan lotion. Orange blossoms themselves. I’m not sure. A daydream of summers running down to the shore without a care in the wild tumbling world. It’s not a beachy fragrance by any means, but it reminds me of the color of the coast in old photographs. I can see the comparison to Classique, a sweet powdery vanilla floral, but, to me, it is the differences that make Safanad worth the money. I love love Classique, but there are certain elements that make me hesitant to wear it that aren’t present in Safanad. Doesn’t really remind of the Love or Guimauve de Noel or Mon Precieux or any other popular sweet orange blossom perfumes. I bought a bottle on discount but would repurchase even at full price.

Safanad is such a beautiful fragrance. I will say the note breakdown here is incorrect - there is also petitgrain in the top and instead of iris there should be jasmin absolue. This opens with a very fresh and juicy orange note complimented by the green, herbacious and slightly bitter petitgrain, making it almost unisex. Then the warm and sweet ylang ylang and vanilla find their way in and accompany the top notes until they completely disappear. There is warmth and smoothness from the mellow amber and sandalwood at the end as the sweetnes settles. I picture a scene of summer sunset somewhere at a Moroccan coast. First you walk through the alley of orange gardens, then passing by blooming jasmine trees until you reach the beach, where a beautiful sunset is taking place, cozy and warm on your skin. And you still somewhat smell the orange trees in the distance. Sillage and longevity are moderate, but this is my favorite from the Parfums de Marly line so far.

To me, Safanad smells like I am on a tropical vacation with a fruit platter on the beach, surrounded by orange blossoms, honey and vanilla. It also reminds me of a luxurious sunscreen. That combination of scents lasts around eight hours on me, and after that it is a faint orange blossom and vanilla fragrance. I received a bottle of this as a gift, and I am so glad that I did because I love it, but I could never justify spending $410 on a bottle of perfume unless I like the dry down allll day. It's not that I don't like the dry down past the eight hour mark, it's just not strong or complex enough when it fully dries down for me to justify the price. I truly do love this fragrance, and to keep my tropical vacation dreams alive when I decide to wear it, I carry a travel size with me in my bag to reapply throughout the day.

Uh-oh! I am in big BIG trouble. I recently acquired a bottle of Safanad by Parfums de Marly. Every time I wear this I get such strong desire to get a backup bottle. This smells so damn good! Opens up with a blast of fresh yet cozy orange blossom. It gets amber-y as it dries down. The amber note softens down about an hour and a half after the initial dry down. Leaving me with a warm and slightly sweet, creamy vanilla which reminds me somewhat of Alien Essence Absolue but softer and smoother, creamier and without the booziness. Although by the 6th hour, the vanilla in here brings Orchidee Vanille to mind. Projection and sillage are both excellent. Lasts around 12 hrs on my skin but sits close to skin by the 8th hour. This is my new favorite!!!

This is my favorite of the feminine PDM fragrances so far. To me, I get a tropical vibe, though not a cheap, in-your-face type with tons of sweet coconut or pineapple. It's more of a luxurious, elegant tropical vibe, like very expensive luxury sunscreen. It's a little bit creamy, I'm guessing from the orange blossom and ylang-ylang and vanilla, though I don't really detect any notes in a distinct manner. It's very thoroughly blended, which helps I think to evoke that smooth sunscreen essence. I wish the projection and longevity were better - I get 4.5 hours out of this, which seems a little low for a fragrance this expensive. And it's not quite a skin scent, but isn't anywhere near a beast mode fragrance, at least not on me.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I basically love any perfume with orange blossom... Safanad starts off fresh, soapy, and citrusy, but dries down into a diaphanous, creamy pillow of amber and orange blossom. I smell the similarity to JPG Classique, but I find this less cloying and headache inducing. This perfume brings back a scent memory tied to seeing CATS on broadway with my dad when I was little. During the show I kept smelling this beautiful fragrance (probably Classique, cus it was the early 90’s), and I was never able to track it down, but this comes super close! This could be a signature fragrance for sure. I think WifeyPink’s post below hit the nail on the head.

Safanad is exactly what I want in an orange blossom forward fragrance: beautiful, elegant, and refined with a level of sweetness, and a powdery quality, that perfectly compliments it’s floral components. Prior to discovering this fragrance, I just could not get into the marshmallow-like sweetness that many on-trend fragrances in this general scent family of offer. Safanad, on the other hand, is more balanced, which allows the orange blossom to really shine. In my experience, this fragrance has good lasting power, performs well in cold and warm weather (I don’t wear it in high heat though), and is adaptable, as it can be worn in formal and casual settings.

Sweet, sweet and more sweet in the opening. And not necessarily in a bad way, but definitely in an overly youthful way which does not match what I was expecting from this brand. What I did enjoy is the infusion of ylang ylang, Iris and warm vanilla base. The dry down, which comes very quickly was actually quite pleasant and almost reminiscent of Casamoratti Dama Bianca (an absolute fave), but NO WHERE near as good. Out of all the women’s PdM offerings I have tried, this is the best in my opinion as there is some complexity and elegance in there, once you have endured the opening. Save your money though, PdM is not worth the hype or cost.

Safanad is an absolute gem. Probably my favorite from PDM. Elegant, classy, sophisticated and feminine. It's a creamy, sensual and warm white floral fragrance. It's so pretty! I can wear this any time - day or night and any season. Signature scent worthy. I love the bottle too. The clear glass with the bold, bronze-y orange hue of the juice. Absolutely stunning all around. Edit/ I've been layering Sorcellerie Apothecary I Think About You, Too fragrance oil (which is also heavy on the orange blossom) underneath Safanad and it is absolutely divine. It's my current favorite layering combo.

This reminds me of the beaches of my childhood for some reason...like the smells of the 90s shampoos in the beachside shower rooms mixed with the after sun glow vibes and all the ladies with their creams and perfumes getting ready for a night on the boardwalk. Edit: I figured out why this scent memory, and while I hated having the mystique broken, I thought it might be helpful. This smells a whole heck of a lot like neutrogena body lotion (their original scent / “light sesame formula”) which I guess is now hard to find...?

I received a decant of this to try randomly and this is one of my favourite scents from PDM. The scent reminds me of something else I’ve smelt but I can’t say what (I’m aware others say JPG but it’s been forever since I got my nose on that so I can’t say for sure) It’s office friendly and not too pear heavy. I’m clearly a sucker for orange blossom as I seem to like plenty of scents with that note. I got pretty good performance on this although with that price tag I guess I’d want longer than I got.

I can understand why some reviews say this leans mature and feminine. But let me tell you, as a 30 year-old male who is not afraid of pretty scents or granny chic, this is a beauty worth every penny! I can see this being someone’s wedding scent. Think luxurious aunt with expensive taste (who married rich and moved away), leaning in to greet you with a warm hug/kiss, thus leaving the mark of their lipstick on your cheek. 💋 Also, to me this smells nearly identical to Roja’s discontinued Lily parfum!

WOW. This is incredible. It’s like if the most beautiful orange and pink sunset had a scent. There’s something super nostalgic about it, it kind of reminds me of childhood memories of swimming in the afternoon sunset. A lot of people say that it’s a “mature” scent, but I actually find it quite youthful. I could see this working for any season, day or night. It’s bright and inoffensive enough for daytime and warmer days but also has this sexiness to it that makes it good for a night out

Safanad is my second favorite PDM perfune after Delina Exclusif. I genuinely adore how elegant and feminine it feels. It opens with a soft, juicy pear and orange brightness, but quickly melts into a creamy floral heart that feels smooth, warm, and slightly powdery. The dry-down is where it really wins me over with amber, vanilla, and sandalwood. It’s refined, comforting, and effortlessly chic, and I find myself reaching for it often when I want something soft but still luxurious.
