Versailles Passion Pour Elle

The pyramid here feels true to the scent. A mix between Burberry Body and Narciso Rouge. Lasting and beautiful. I also agree with the resemblance with Lancome Peut-Etre, which is more powdery-rosey (maybe slightly more vanilic and vintage too), while here you can feel the hint of velvety peach ( peach is a tricky and dated note for me, but very nice here). This one is more versatile than all the aforementioned fragrances. A great day-to-day romantic fragrance. I'd wear it at dinner or lunch with my significant other, should I want to smell pretty and soft. Great for the office too. Extremely inoffensive. I wear it when I'm tired of statement perfumes, but I still wish to be enveloped in subtle beauty.

I picked this up because I’m on a Burberry Body kick and I wanted more sillage and longevity. This is very similar to BB EDP yet I feel it is noticeably more heavy on the rose and peach, and is generally sweeter. I do like it, and this is only my first impression, yet I wish it had the wormwood and freesia too. I think is makes BB interesting. I’ll probably be layering the two from now on for the best of both worlds.

This is a very expensive fragrance for one that is rather simple with only three notes: a top note of peach, a heart note of rose and base notes of cashmeran and musk. I loved it. It's elegant, sweet and feminine. The peach note is delicious and light, the rose is soft and combined with cashmeran deepens during the dry down into a warmth enhanced by the musk. In the end this is a very musky perfume but it's not bad at all. Perfect for evening formal events. I can see why this one hasn't yet caught on. It's not your average designer laber or celebrity label. It can only appeal to a specific audience: history lovers or fans of the Chateau de Versailles, Marie Antoinette and French history. I do have to say, however, that this doesn't wear anything like an authentic fragrance worn by the royal court of Versailles. The cashmeran note is a modern innovation (feels like cashmere on your skin, or satin). While you can say oh it feels like an 18th century ball gown, no such note existed in the composition of fragrances from either the 1600's or the 1700's. But this so beautiful. Another frag to add to my formal evening wear type of night outs!
