Light of Bangkok

Light of Bangkok opens with a burst of bright, sparkling lemongrass - clean, crisp and immediately transportive. Within fifteen minutes it softens and steps back, revealing a heart that's quietly stunning. Orris and jasmine emerge together in a way that's hard to pull apart individually but unmistakably beautiful as a whole - powdery without being dusty, floral without being heavy, with a softness that feels genuinely luxurious. Projection through the heart phase is generous and the drydown turns delicious as sandalwood and musk settle in underneath, pulling everything closer to skin without losing any of the character. It wore gracefully for hours, consistent and elegant from start to finish. I went in expecting a fresh aromatic that wasn't really my thing and came out seriously considering the 50ml.

This one reminds me of Cologne in the past, but with different details of interpretation. A bright, fresh, citrusy, and sparkling Thai lemon grass, an iconic ingredient not only in Thai cuisines but also in perfumery, plays a pivotal role among the others, followed by Italian bergamot, jasmine sambac, orris butter, and sandalwood. The scent conveys an ambience of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Bangkok's interior design alongside the sunlight reflecting on the surface of the Chao Phraya river, which flows through the hotel, you can touch as if stay in your cozy home with happiness. It's suitable for hot and humid weather.

I really loved how the lemongrass unfolds here, it’s very bright, juicy, with a light lemony sparkle. I can also detect a slightly bitter iris root that adds depth, while in the background there’s a soft, delicate floral nuance. The fragrance evolves beautifully throughout 👌🏻 At first, it feels like a burst of energy, fresh and vibrant and as it settles into the base, it becomes softer and calmer, almost like a feeling of relaxation 💆🏻♀️. Yet at every stage, it’s a scent you want to keep coming back to, to inhale again and again 👃 definitely a very captivating fragrance!

A fresh and classy sandalwood perfume , the scent bubble it creates is a very nice one yet this EdP needs to be oversprayed to have some impact . Maybe it needs to oxidise a bit so it will become a better performer in the future . This said I really like it and it will be in my rotation for this spring/ summer

I visited the Oriental hotel in Bangkok to try this. It is a pleasant, fresh fragrance for the tropical climate. It has a focus on citruses and lemongrass blended with jasmine. Unisex and quite reasonably priced. I had hoped though, that I could buy 15 ml travel size to give away a few as gifts. The only available size though is 50 ml.
