I have yet to smell Baccarat Rouge, so I can't attest to any similarity that may exist here. Moonlight in Chiangmai is a pleasant, sophisticated woody-amber scent that is masculine-leaning, but unisex depending on taste. MIC opens with nice bittersweet citrus, presumably the exotic yuzu, a note I'm unfamiliar with. It adds a perfectly judged fresh edge to the dark woody notes that follow. Teak, a fixture of old furniture, is another unusual note, beautifully rendered here. Jasmine rounds it out, adding smooth creaminess. There is some balsamic sweetness in here too. Dry, warm nutmeg follows, enhancing the wood beautifully, paving the way to the resinous amber base nicely. Patchouli adds some earthiness to the late stages, and it fades to a dark woody-amber skin scent with some spice remaining. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting. It is well-blended and fairly simple, but masterfully put-together - it is smooth, natural-smelling, even slightly creamy at times. It doesn't fall into the common pitfalls of this kind of scent - there is no harshness or thinness here, and it isn't too synthetic for the most part. Wearable and elegant, MIC is a lovely, transeasonal masculine that is hard to fault. 4.5/5.

First time I wore Moonlight in Chiangmai, I thought nutmeg dominant in the opening. This morning I pick up a distinct tart yuzu as the most dominant, but clearly these two notes dance and take turns being the lead. Almost transparent in the transitions, with subtle hints of vetiver and benzoin. And like all the Dusita’s I’ve tested, Moonlight is smooth and refined. Absolutely delicious, leaning in a smoky Asian spice direction. I’m fortunate in that I have travelled to Thailand as well as Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, and it’s not hard to imagine that I’m being transported back to that part of the world. Performance is good, projection is not overpowering with decent throw in the first hour from three sprays. I wore this yesterday and kept thinking what a wonderfully balanced fragrance it is, and how it would work equally well for man or an adventurous woman. This is extremely exotic and extremely beautiful.

I received a sample of Moonlight in Chiangmai and instantly loved it. It opens with a light citrus note that never fully fades away. It quickly shifts to a rich warm dry amber woody notes that reminded me of SJP Stash. They are very similar but Moonlight in Chiangmai is softer, more elegant/refined as it retains a citrus note that keeps it light, is not as patchouli dominated and takes on a BR540/Zara Red Temptation quality after a few hours of wear. It also lasts much longer. This is perfectly unisex and has great silage and wear time. I got around 8 hours with just one spray to my wrist and touched to my other wrist. This is definitely going on my wish list and I will purchase after I finish my bottle of stash. ETA: Full bottle worthy. Just treated myself for my Bday. Loving it much more than SJP Stash which can be a bit rough around the edges.

I do respect different views and opinions but this is nowhere close to BR540 on my skin. Not even distantly relatable. It’s very normal for Pissara’s works nonetheless...it varies in a noticeable way on different persons. Opens very brightly, spicy (but not overpoweringly) and vetivery...almost tobacco-like on my skin but in such a pleasant way. Yuzu is in the backdrop right from the start. Not acidic at all. No citrusy vibe on my skin. Just a hint of Yuzu and its peel. Benzoin and myrrh are both present. But they are blended so well with Teak Wood. That bright and light woody balsamic vibe, so warm, so elegant but not in a thick/rich kinda way. It’s airy. I would not call this fresh...at least in a generally perceived way of fresh fragrances. It is sweet but woody sweet. No syrup. No cotton candy. Such a gorgeous and distinctive scent.

I typically love citrus but the citrus in this isn't sparkly and fresh, but deeper and heavier. This is very rich from start to finish with some sweetness and green going on in the background. Although the fragrance is not similar to BR540, it's got a similar vibe and I'd wear them on the same occasions. I wore Moonlight in Chiangmai a couple of times and liked it a lot. But after about the third time I wore it, I was craving it. Like, after my shower I couldn't wait to put it on. I've never had that reaction to anything before! As a woman I have a hard time getting over the fact that this is a "men's fragrance", though. I tried to get my husband to wear it but after one day he said it was "too much". I guess "too much" is just perfect for me!

OMG!!!! I have just received my Discovery set, and I’ve just started to go through the fragrances, But this one it smells thaaaaat amazing that I had to stop for a moment. For me it’s absolutely a full bottle worthy fragrance and I am a woman, i just know, I want to have this beautiful fougere around me, hopefully my fiancé will love it too, if not, I am going to wear it no questions. It seems. It smells so unique to me, just like most of the collection. A beautiful fruity, green, but also warm and slightly Sweet and nutty fougere. It gives me similar vibes as La Rhapsodie Noire, But this one goes into more fruity nutty direction, while LRN is going to more of a gourmand/ caffe / lavander direction. Love both!

I depicted the soft moonlight and desired nocturnal mood blending the unique energy of exotic Japanese Yuzu with the floral the opulence of night-blooming Indian Jasmin, as well as my own, exclusive Teak Wood accord that lovingly evokes my homeland, Thailand."

From the discovery set. This, for me, is a rather weak woody resinous perfume concoction. Wood and sweet, but on the intimate side. The only thing I find resembling BCR540 is the fact that it’s sweet and ghostly at times. Nice scent but not to the point of being lovely. Edit. After half an hour the scent turned into BCR540. Umm... lovely but not a purchase criteria since already own BCR540 extrait. Edit. Finally got it anyway. The notes from the bottle differ slightly. The opening yuzu is slightly stronger and more beautiful.

INSTANT LOVE. i ordered two samples (this and la douceur de siam) and Pissara was kind enough to send me samples of almost all the fragrances they offer, superb customer service! this opens super citrusy and woody, and dries down to a super sweet, almost syrupy pineapple on me. unisex but it does lean a little masculine because of the teak wood, and lasts on me forever. i have gotten so many compliments on this one and i will def purchase a full bottle once my sample runs out! possibly my new signature, well done Pissara!

Beautiful fragrance! I enjoy this genre of a traditionally labeled men’s Fougere type fragrances ( although there is no mentioned lavender in the notes list) layered with a women’s fruity floral. Floraiku’s And Your Lips is actually quite similar ( compared side-by-side on each wrist). Just swap the yuzu syrup in this for a jujube accord, although i prefer Pissara’s interpretation as it is more elegant and smooth. Hope to add this to my collection soon.

Difficult to pick out individual notes, but a shimmering myrrh, a slightly syrupy and fruity/aromatic benzoin and the shadows of jasmine enveloping the woody notes are definitely there. Well blended and perfectly unisex imo. It feels regal without being heavy and pompous. It shimmers like a jewel, shines like gold and glows like the fire of noble wood. It's the love child of Shamilar, Rochas Femme and Parfum d'Empire Wazamba.

This is a woody citrus that is syrupy sweet. I can see where people are getting the BR540 reference, most likely because of the similarities in the sweetness aspect. With this being said, this is not even in the same realm as BR540 that is musky sweet saffron. This is not close at all. It is good, but not great. I am not blown away, but it has an elegant stride, quite good longevity, and versatile! 8/10

This is a beautiful fragrance. It's fruity, warm, airy, resinous, luminous, well-blended. The nutmeg and wood notes become more evident with wear. And this would be a LOVE and immediate purchase... If it wasn't so reminiscent of other fragrances on the market. Side by side it is not identical to BR540 or Cloud (the yuzu sets it apart), but it's just not different enough to invest in.

This doesn't smell masculine at all on my skin. There's a BR540 sweetness to it and it's very elegant at the same time. Normally I can categorize fragrances into seasons, but this one is really all over the place. I see myself wearing this during the hottest summer days, but during the cold winter as well.

Absolutely stunning presentation First smell I got grapefruit flowers mixed with teak wood and I loved it what a Signature fragrance I got a lot compliments from this fragrance There is a Mix of modern and classic parfum I love it.

I need the reviewers on this site to stop comparing everything to BR540 - this is a woody-citrus scent using mostly natural ingredients. It has nothing to do with the burnt sugar/ambroxan impression you get from BR.

I like this perfume, one of my favourites from Dusita. It is very fruity, a sweet tropical smell that is hard to define. Almost like the fruity notes in white wine. Teak wood is there too, but it is subtle.

yuzu, teakwood, nutmeg, vetiver, myrrh and benzoin; the yuzu, dry wood, spice and myrrh dominate; went on a little bitter but quickly became sweet and interesting, not your typical citrus

Tart and sharp yuzu syrup. It’s gorgeous sugary and tropical. Yes, there are some woods in the background, but that’s not really the point. Love this.

This smells like the freshly shaved, clean skin of a good-smelling man’s face. It’s freaking amazing. And I’m a girl. 🤣

DUSITA CAN LITERALLY TAKE ALL MY MONEY!! I love all the collections...they are all extremely beautiful!

This od my first reviewe on Fragrantica, bare with me. So Moonlight im Changmai turned to be one of my top three favourite fragrances from this perfume house. I have to admit I was surprised when I sad the notes on fragrantica because patchouli and vetiver are challenging notes for me. On initial spray I got a sharpness from the vetiver od patchouli suppose but moments after I am noticing the beautiful yuzu. I think the yuzu and the jasmine ste perfectly balanced with the patchouli and vetiver. From a distance I mostly pickup a woodiness, something herbal ,a bit of freshness. The drydown is probably the best part, i feel that the jasmine, teak Wood and nutmeg come through. Suprinsingly this fragrance doesnt lean too masculine. I think its the perfect unisex. Its a unique scent and if you love woody aromatic scents I would recommend you try it. It is not a safe blind buy and I wouldnt say its mass appealing, but boy od is it unique. However, my complaint is that it isnt long lasting and definately overpriced. After 3-4 hours I cant smell it anymore. THE SCENT ITSELF: 8.2/10, LONGEVITY:5/10 PRICE AND AVAILABILITY (Europe): 3/10 Worth buying a bottle? Not really...But I would be happy if I got it as brithday gift.

This is my introduction to Dusita fragrances, and while I was aware Pissara makes some exceptionally creative fragrances, I did not expect what I got at all. Pissara expresses yuzu in combination with a deep realistic sweet jasmin, so the very first seconds you get this super effervescent bright sulphorous yuzu fizz, underlined by a fruity sweetness, before a warm benzoin and spice kick in to create what smells to me like a sweet exotic jam, slightly tart but also very sweet almost pineapple-y. Very interesting opening. Right underneath you get an explosion of what I would describe as a mixture of a smooth grained guaiac wood, which has always given me a smokey 'meaty' vibe, together with an earthy patch, smokey myrrh and ambergris (unlike many commenters I don't get the stereotypical ambrox BR 450 vibe, but rather a rounder darker ambergris material). The perplexing result is quite a thick round sweet fruity woody fragrance, slightly smokey, radiant, expansive but also thick and robust. Must be experienced. To me it's a celebratory scent, best reserved for fancy nights out.

A vetiver, citrus and spice scent that is very light and delicate in how it wears on the skin. A core of benzoin is blended in well. But, and it's a big but, if you own one of the myriad other 540-inspired scents there's little reason to look here unless you LOVE variations on BR 540. That saffron/540 theme (although no saffron is listed) is becoming a bit overdone in niche perfumery now. That said, if you don't own 540 and want something that direction, it's really, really hard to say Moonlight in Chiangmai isn't worth a sample. I like it more than 540 EDP and it's also a bit cheaper (although performance is not nearly as good on my skin and something like Thameen Patiala is a better 540-inspired scent to me for less $). Longevity is about 5-7 hours with very mild projection. A 7.25/10 for me. It's not bad but really hard to recommend when there are other 540 scents out there in the oriental/citrus market.

This is a VERY interesting scent. Not sure what to think of it but I think I like it. Upon first spray all I get is a freshly grated ginger, especially the ascerbic and acrid aroma of the flesh of the ginger. This might be the teakwood...I'm not sure. After a few minutes when it settles, the floral and citrus components starts to come out. I can detect something in the background that reminds me of instant crush/br540. If I close my eyes, I can definitely imagine myself laying down in a wooden boat floating in the middle of a lake in a woody area as I'm gazing at the stars. What an artistic scent. Like nothing else I have in my collection. While I might not love it, I think I'll keep it and see if it grows on me...and if not, then I'll keep it for art's sake.

I don't get yuzu, but rather a stunning sweet canned pineapple sparkling on top of airy wood and amber. This definitely smells far more synthetic than most scents in Dusita's line, but it doesn't remind me of BR540 at all (I dislike BR540, and love this). It also doesn't contain spiky modern woody ambers, which I hate. This feels quite different from the construction of other scents in Dusita's range, and I think it's quite underrated and hasn't found its audience (I enjoy it for very different reasons than, say, Erawan which is a favorite of mine). I'd characterize this as a unisex fruity gourmand-ish scent, perfect for a balmy romantic summer evening.

This is more of a true unisex and not leaning towards any gender. It was killing me trying to figure out what it reminded me of, then I read on here what people suggested, and, of course, it’s BR540. That, and a little bit of the Tupperware scent (in a good way) I get from Bal D’Afrique. It does smell expensive, but I don’t want the love child of BR540 and Bal D’Afrique; I’d rather purchase the parents as individual bottles. I think the wood notes in here are just a tad too much, and it’s also a drop sweeter than I would have liked. All in all, it still feels like quality fragrance, and I’d recommend if you wanted a BR540 vibe, but not exactly that.

An easy grab, could be a signature for the not so adventurous wearer. Everyone that been around me has loved it. So if compliments is your m.o. then this would be a good one to try. I like it way more then br 540. But that's just me. Anyways I got a full bottle and I'm liking it Update: haven't seen anyone talk about performance. I get like 3 hours then fades away. About 6 months ago I went Extrait or attars because my skin just won't hold scents. This actually is not bad for an edp. Also Stéphane Humbert does well on me for not being an Extrait, but the have 20 percent oil concentration so pretty close, I would say this sits around that

That opening is yummy, very yuzu forward. After that, it does become fairly similar to BR540 but a bit more masculine (not to say that it feels like a men's scent, but it does feel more masc than BR540) and less "perfume section at the mall". Teak being listed frankly terrified me because I've always hated teak in fragrances, but it's not exactly teak forward. The dry down is a lightly resinous aroma with a bit of vetiver and patchouli. It doesn't last too long on me, at least not strongly. It's a weak dry down, but a beautiful one. I don't really know if I'd ever buy it, but I do enjoy it quite a bit and will happily use up my sample.

To my nose this is a fruit sweet version of BR540. But this scent dries down to resemble Baccarat rather than the whole scent smelling as such. It smells completely different in the opening, but once the fragrance progresses to the heart notes, there it smells like BR540 on skin and then changes again to something different. I would generally not compare this scent to BR540. To my nose it's a sweet and fresh smelling fragrance with a bit of florals in the air. It's pretty light on the woodsy notes until it becomes a skin scent and it's at the base notes. This is nice and I think this is a fragrance that is more feminine leaning.

I bought this as a blind buy over the weekend since Dusita was giving a free travel set with purchase. This is my second day wearing it and part of me likes it - it's sweet at first spray but very complex. Like others on here, this also reminds me of BR540. I even sprayed them side by side and they are so similar! I need to give this a few more days of wear before I decide if it's going to be added to my repertoire. This is silly, but it's really bothering me that Fragrantica is calling this a men's fragrance when it's clearly unisex - I even wrote to Dusita asking them to clarify. Fragrantica - can't you change this????

There are definitely Baccarat Rouge vibes, but make no mistake, this is a unique and different perfume. It's that woodiness with some yuzu zest and sweetness what makes it similar to Baccarat Rouge. I don't find it syrupy or cloyingly sweet at all! I even think that Baccarat is sweeter and this one is much more unisex, even leans a bit masculine, and a bit more down-to-earth. I like this more as that vetiver earthiness is so beautiful here and smells more natural. Very beautiful and something that surprised me. Suitable for anyone looking for a unique scent. That name "Moonlight in Chiangmai" is just dreamy. +

This is a great nod to old fashioned barbershop colognes from yesteryear, it is just done in a modern way. I think the Yuzu is key to that modern feel. Yuzu is different than bergamot, which has been used so widely in masculine fragrances. The yuzu sweetens up the whole composition of this fragrance in a way that bergamot couldn't. It isn't overly sweet, just different enough to be interesting while still remaining familiar. So many things are marketed as unisex today and that is fine but this really reads masculine in my opinion.

A very interesting and off-kilter concoction of notes in this one. The opening reminds me of Ganymede from Marc-Antoine Barrois, with its somewhat mineral and spicy feel. This fragrance is anchored by Vetiver and teakwood, while the yuzu adds a touch of sparkle to the rather mature smell overall. I get the BR540 comparisons, as this has a similar “sweet medicinal” feel to it, but BR540 is sweeter and more round than this. If you’re looking for a woodier take on BR540, this may scratch that itch for you.

Pineapple juice and teak wood shavings, the pineapple juice that is in canned fruit. I guess it is the yuzu and jasmine blended together, cause it doesn't have the underlying bitterness of yuzu. I personally love how wood shavings smell, and it comes through in this concoction. The opening is fruity woody and the drydown is woody. Would make a good summer fragrance. P.S...reminds me of Charlatan by Fort & Manle, especially the opening....may be because both have fruity nuances.

A fresh top of yuzu and jasmine heavily tempered by a warm resinous, woody base. Like a hot-'n'-cold kind of effect going on here, with the ambery woods clearly radiating through but the spicy-sweet patchouli intermingles with a watery citrus and jasmine to create a smooth cooling top coat. Consistent moderate projection for ~2hr that limps through a third, longevity 6-8hr. I'm not seeing any resemblance to BR540.

This is delicious, and anyone can wear it, not sure why fragrantica thinks it’s for men. Very fruity, but the nutmeg is so good, it seriously seems like this should be a dessert. The color is a spicy peach to me, and I think one could wear Moonlight in Chiangmai any time of year and be able to enjoy different facets of the fragrance that the changes in heat and humidity would bring out. I may need a fb.

This one opens with a burst of jasmine and nutmeg. It dries down and develops into a woody patchouli. The longevity is good, and the scent is pleasant and well blended. Each note works very well together. Although I enjoyed the scent, the dry down is too masculine to be something I would personally enjoy wearing. It's the woods, my skin despises anything woody.

Give of similar feeling to br540, but it’s far far from being the same. Moonlight in chiang mai is a resinous, with sweet and jammy yuzu, on a bed of woody mix. Very elegant, very luxurious and definitely smell expensive. Although the performance could be better (get around 5 hrs longevity with good silage in the first hour), its really well made.

This is a really nice, playful amber. It starts with a sugar rush that lasted on me for about an hour before turning more salty, woody, and resinous. The initial sweetness felt fizzy, with something like butterscotch zipping around the yuzu. Like candy, but a smoky, heavy, syrupy candy. Then it's all just lovely woods and mineral-rich soil.

Nice, dry, and elegant. Moonlight in Chiangmai truly evolves from the citrusy opening (yummy Yuzu) to the woody base notes. On my skin it has great longevity, with good sillage for the first hour or so. It reminds me of another perfume I've smelled, but I can't quite remember which. A solid like from me.

There's a definite opulence you can smell in all offerings from Parfums Dusita so that you can speak of a "Dusitade" DNA. The myrrh and the benzoin here, coupled with the teak and the yuzu, make everything seem both peaceful and luxurious. I always feel elegant wearing this house's fragrances.

This doesn't smell like BR540. It smells like a a conifer dipped in crystallized yuzu sugar syrup, on a bed of patchouli. "Moonlight in Chiangmai" suggested to me a serious scent, but this is more playful. Definitely unisex, but only for lovers of sweet scents.

"For men"? Really, Fragrantica. Where and when did Dusita make this distinction. In any case, I think this is Pissara's best work--this is stunning. The nutmeg and myrrh make it so cozy and intimate, like a whispy shawl on a warm evening. I love it!

The opening blast of citrus is delightful. It dries down a little spicy and fruity. Overall smells like mangoes and cloves. Smells sweetly exotic and sensual. Interesting but I don't see myself wearing this one. -

Great dichotomy between fresh and warm, sweet and sour, one of the best from the line. Great versatility and signature scent worthy. If it lasted more than 2h on my skin it would be a 9/10.

To me this is an interesting citrus/floral perfume with a woody, sweet amber effect in the base and that hay like warm Pissara likes to get into her perfumes. The most interesting thing for me is that nutty, vetiver-ish effect achieved in this perfume and it reminds me of somewhat of a recent trend (but not really) like that new Jardin one from Hermes, a fresh fruity/citrus but with quite a dense, sweet woods & amber base. Looking at the notes here I'd say yes! Yuzu definitely, the signature floral heart of jasmine yada yada...sure. then we have the vetiver I mentioned, absolutely! Just to speak to the comparisons to BR540 which in a very, crude way, I understand but I'd say it's misleading to say it smells like BR540. This is way less oppressively sweet and cloying and has virtually none of the ambroxan, or 'push' of Baccarat rouge I think there's a maltol sweetness and perhaps mossiness which they have in common and in that sense is more modern and align These qualities some will associate with BR540 but in terms of naturalism and lightness/floracy there's no comparison at all. I say this as someone who doesn't hate the Kurkdjian perfume either. (Although it is irritatingly ubiquitous on the high street these days) I'm enjoying wearing this today but it doesn't blow my skirt up.
