Tonka Latte

Way back, at the beginning of the gourmand trend, it was my least favorite type of fragrance. I loathed and continue to loathe Angel, and it seemed like the trend was more for girls and young women who wanted to smell like strawberry cupcakes. I was probably missing out on more mature gourmands at that time out of ignorance, but over the years, I experimented with a few, and grew to love some of them, starting with Coronandel. Which brings me to Tonka Latte. In a way, it reminds me of Coromandel, which I attribute to the white chocolate. TL is softer than Coro, very cozy, and perfect for crisp fall days followed by cooler nights, where the fireplace is used for the first time of the season. It smells like a fine cashmere blanket feels! It is creamy and lactonic from the milk and the white chocolate, which I prefer so much more than chocolate or cocoa in a fragrance. The mid notes of tonka, honey, and almond lend a nutty sweetness that is not at all cloying, and the base notes don't stand out in particular, but do provide some underlying structure that holds things together. I own quite a few Dusita creations, and like all of the ones I own, with the exception of Melodie d'Amour and Rosarine, it doesn't have the greatest longevity. The projection is about elbow length at the beginning, but eventually becomes a skin scent on me. Right now, I own a large decant, but plan on purchasing a full bottle soon and using the decant to touch up. I've come a long way since my initial dislike of gourmand, though I am still choosy about what I like. This, along with the aforementioned Coromandel, are easily my two favorites.

I went to the Paris boutique today and I'm wearing this on one wrist. It's not a soupy tonka (although it's sweet), it has more of a burnt sugar, woody feel, very nice. I expected it to resemble Tonka Impérial or Fève Délicieuse but it doesn't, other than being a strong tonka scent. While it's a departure from the usual Dusita floral bent, it still retains something of their DNA. As for the aforementioned Guerlain and Dior cult classics, I prefer this to either of them, as it's less scratchy than the Dior and less saccharine than the Guerlain. Pissara never misses, and this is no exception! Also, I thought I wasn't getting the white chocolate, but it comes out after an hour or so, really lovely. Despite the gourmand note list, it still smells like perfume rather than simply being cakey/foody, and the almond gives a boozy edge.

I’m shocked at some ppl here comparing it to Bianco Latte. If you smell Bianco Latte in this you probably got scammed. They sold you something else. I see here a soft honeyed fusion, milky but not fluffy lactonic. Very well blended with white chocolate and tonka beans. Almonds are secondary to the nose. It’s beautiful, sublime and wearable all year round. I guess some ppl rating fragrances here get nasty because either they don’t like the perfumer or they dislike the fact that they didn’t get a PR/free bottle. Either way you got to be realistic and grow up. This is though very similar to Signature Aurum by Zaharoff.

Airy, floating on a cloud-like perfume. You can smell each delicious note of tonka, vanilla, honey, white chocolate & caramel. The musk & almond is simply gorgeous, makes it have this touch of floral to my nose. Yes, sometimes almond can come off a little synthetic smelling in some products but I love it in this perfume. Dry down is slightly artificial but not as plasticky as BL (and yes I like Bianco latte but I think this is better). It’s got a little more soul. Mouthwatery, delicious & SUGARY. It smells like the inside of a candy wrapper. YUM. Full bottle on the Christmas wish list.

This is actually pretty gorgeous....I wasn't expecting to like it so much as I'm learning I'm more of a gourmand adjacent lover than a true gourmand enthusiast. This opens with the white chocolate note but softens to a warm, creamed honey vanilla. Definitely gives Bianco Latte vibes without the artificial/plastic opening, softer and more elevated, with less projection. It reminds me a little bit of Lira where you get this cozy and comforting creaminess. I think Tonka Latte will be a beautiful one to layer with, definitely getting a full bottle.

To the reviewer below : No, I would never choose Bianco Latte over the beauty that is Tonka Latte. Sorry. Bianco Latte is not ugly but there 0 artistry in it, and it smells chemical. On the other hand, Pissara managed to make a truly gourmand fragrance with nearly 0 sweetness in it. And that to me is a tour de force. She created the perfect buttery milky fragrance, to me at least.😄 Bianco Latte to me doesn’t smell like an actual perfume, but more like a consumer product.🤷🏻♀️

This is a beautiful sweet warm gourmand. I get a lot of tonka and honey enveloped in a glass of warm milk. This is a cold day with a cozy drink ready to cuddle into bed with a good book. This will be a favorite fall/winter fragrance! Note: Tonka Latte is not Bianco Latte at all. They have very different notes. Tonka Latte is tonka and honey milk. Bianco Latte is caramel milk. They are very different to me and I love them both.

I really like this! Cozy, creamy gourmandish but not too sweet. I get all the major notes, honey white chocolate and tonka. One thing I noticed is that it makes me sneeze every time i put it on. Just once or twice just after applying, and then its cool. So strange... but don’t get me wrong I will continue spraying on a daily basis 😁

As a big fan of tonka notes, it’s no surprise I loved this. What sets it apart is the composition and way it sits on skin and clothing. The honey is never cloying and the dry down feels so cozy and delicious. The scent profile isn’t anything revolutionary, but the execution is. My perfect gourmand winter fragrance.

Musky honey with a bit of vanilla to my nose. Honey note definitely the strongest. Lasted about 9 hours on my skin without fading too much (only gone with my shower), but wasn't overpowering. Reminds me of the scent of the honey lip scrub from LUSH.

It’s similar to vanilla sex by tom ford but with a honey note added on love it

Even my least favorite perfumes by Pissara are still magical.

I attended an event in Les Sentures in London today and got the chance to meet Pissara and smell the new perfume. She is really sweet and amazing! I discovered the brand a while ago but haven't got the chance to try it until about a month ago and I am obsessed with them since then. I immediately ordered a discovery set and I've tried around 13 so far. Tonka Latte is very different from its previous floral and fougere releases. This is a warm and sweet tonka caramel latte with some honey on top. It is not sickly sweet and I also find it quite different from Feve Delicieuse. There is a slight burnt smell there, as mentioned by @tshahb. The white chocolate here is not a realistic one but more like an imaginary concept so it won't become too edible. I agree with @tshahb that although this is a gourmand fragrance, it is more like a perfume than a cake/dessert, which is a merit for me. Pissara explained that she wants to create a scent that provides a cosy atmosphere and reminds people that happiness is so simple. Sometimes we just needs to stop for a moment and enjoy a tonka latte to have a getaway from the buzzing world.

Based on a 2ml sample, this is definitely a tonka forward fragrance and I like it. I’m getting the tonka with the lightest touch of honey and bitter almond. I do not see comparisons with Bianco latte, which to me is nutty caramel. If I had to compare this to other well known tonka fragrances such as ‘velvet tonka’ by BDK, I much prefer this one. Velvet tonka was too strong and pungent for my liking At one point in time I was looking specifically for a tonka fragrance and if that was still the case I might get a bottle of this. If I had a bottle I’d probably use it for layering with something a bit sweeter. However, even though I like this fragrance I think I would prefer to smell it on a man vs on myself (female). I’m surprised at all the votes that think this is more of a feminine leaning fragrance as I don’t think so at all. If you are looking for a crowd pleasing tonka fragrance then I’d consider this one over other tonka frags (that are not as true to the note or very polarising)

Really pretty. Gives a cozy, intimate feeling. I find it lasts long as a skin scent, but others do not smell it on me unless they are very close. I have not tried Bianco Latte so I cannot compare, but I don't smell any caramel and I get lots of white chocolate with this one. Update: I initially thought that it didn't project well because I asked a few people how it smelled and they couldn't smell unless they were right against my skin. But recently, I've been spraying a little more heavily and spraying my clothes as well and I am getting a ton of compliments. So, if you want this to be a skin scent, you can have that option, and if you want to project, spray more heavily and include your clothes!

Vanilla, chocolate, coffee... it’s very hygge. Cozy, mildly sweet, and warm. Starts milky chocolaty, warms to almond and honey. Not earth shattering but it’s still really lovely to wear in front of the fireplace watching Christmas movies on this rainy cold day. Edit: spraying again before bed, I’m getting a lot of honey this time. It’s like a mellower Fort & Manle All the Queens Men with a supporting almond accord. A bit of a shape shifter, this one! I love almond so that makes the honey a bit more manageable for me. I was complemented on the fragrance by a friend, so even if projection feels intimate, it’s still there, and it’s pleasant to others.

I've found it's impossible for Pissara Divani to release an unpleasant perfume, and this is no exception. A mixture of milky, almond, and tonka notes, this feels like a comforting hug but without being too sweet. Its downside is that it doesn't develop very much except immediately after the initial spritz: what you smell after the first five minutes is pretty much what you get. It also sits very close to the skin, although that might be nice, especially if you want to wear something like this to the office. It very much has the Dusita DNA, and could pair with any of Divani's other fragrances in the line.

Vanilla, amber, spices, honey, almond and musk. Not to shabby. This leans female it is also a wearable version of Xerjoff’s italica, which is overwhelming. This settles down to a nice, soft, fluffy, powdery, musky vanilla. Definitely for the ladies but that won’t stop me from finishing my sample over time. 6 hours in it is almost a soft tobacco. 12 hours in it alternates between booze and chocolate. It projects moderately for about six hours then becomes a skin scent

Just tried this at Esxence; this a grown-up, elegant gourmand, as I expected from Dusita. If you don't normally love gourmands, give this one a try anyway. And if you do love gourmands, this one is appropriate, even for the office. I believe this one will be coming out in April 2025 (someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I'll edit my post once I'm able to sit with it for a bit longer, stay tuned. Bravissima, Pissara!

Another reviewer described this perfectly - an office-friendly gourmand. I'm actually surprised by how light this is given the notes. I'm not getting Bianco Latte or Escapade Gourmande type of sweetness or projection. The almond, tonka bean and a bit of honey is all I pick up. It's not a bad scent at all, it's just not what I thought it would be.

The honey Note reminds me of the honey in Bee from Zoologist...very natural and rich. I smell hot milk in a cup with honey and white chocolate. Very cozy and natural...no weird synthetic cheap smell.Perfect to spray it when under the blanket with a nice book.

Tonka Latte started out so nicely - lots of white chocolate and tonka - but within half an hour all I could smell was honey. It's a perfectly nice honey scent, don't get me wrong, but I was underwhelmed once the gorgeous opening faded away.

Tonka Latte is a lovely, soft, creamy almond perfume, while Bianco Latte is a synthetic caramel-candy flavoring. They are from different leagues. If Tonka Latte smells like Bianco Latte, get your brain checked. Seriously, it's not funny.

My bottle is here! It's so creamy, caramelly, and white chocolatey. Tonka is very prominent as well. It's very warm where I live right now, so this is going to be on hold until the weather cools off!

A white chocolate Bianco Latte.

Sometimes a really exceptionally skilled perfumer (which Pissara U most certainly is) can work strange magic and make a note or genre I usually abominate (like, say, vetiver or marine aquatic or femme-gourmet) suddenly seductive. Here ... well, sorry, not so much. It's just so very, very tonka - an ingredient whose unrelieved, almost plasticky, uniform sweetness often sets my teeth on edge, even though this is a smooth and gentle version. And it's also so extremely latte - lactonic, with such an uncannily accurate note of steamed, almost-caramelised milk, that childhood phantoms of being sent to bed early with a warm mugful of the white stuff to calm me down began to billow up, unbidden, from my unconscious. The whole thing is incredibly skilfully done - it's not too sweet, nor synthetic or saccharine, and it doesn't screech or overwhelm - but the overall effect is so intensely, lulling milky-mellow that on me, at least, it really does cloy when it reaches an adult brain. Rather than calm me down, it begins to make me feel a little clammy and claustrophobic (because I'm a grown-up big girl now!). For those who really gravitate to authentic, clean, relatively serious gourmands, this will very probably hit the sweet (very sweet) spot. But it's just too unctuous to make me want it. I need darkness, caffeine, edge - anything to give these endless waves of eddying milkiness some contours.

Steamed milk is what I get the most and not loving it. Where is the benzoin, where is the almond? I have a Blanche Bete sample, which is a very similar style, on my other hand and I prefer it (but not love it either). I think they share the same milky accord. I had so much expectation to smell this, but I am disappointed. To me it doesn’t compare at all to Feve Delicieuse or Tonka Imperiale, which are rich, resinous and complex. This smells more synthetic than either of those (I guess, the milk accord). Also for what it is, find it missing contrast to the milky sweetness with something else. It just feels too sweet and flat with nothing else to balance or add interest -almost like cloying toffee cake. But it’s probably just not my type of scent- I never much liked the Bianco Latte iterations. Dusita shines in its florals, in my opinion. La Douceur de Siam is still my favourite.

I pick up caramel and almond immediately, which gives it a powderiness. Then the honey kicks in and the overall note composition gives it a coffee latte feel. It is sweet but not tooth aching. It has a very soft presence and not much sillage that I can detect after initial application. I let this one sit for a couple months before writing a review because when I first tested it, all the notes that I described were completely absent and I smelled what seemed to be another basic vanilla. Letting it sit awhile seemed to bring out the notes. This is a light-wearing gourmand and a little too subtle for my taste, but still pleasant. There is also a slight plastic/burnt note similar to Bianco Latte that my nose picks up.

Finally sat with this for months. This is a white chocolate Bianco Latte, lighter and softer and honeyed - the honey is lovely and what keeps me coming back. Not entirely sure why people are denying the resemblance to Bianco so aggressively, the similarities are there simple as. And guess what? It's all subjective anyway so calm down. I just wish this projected better, Dusita seriously needs to work on this. None of their fragrances project or last well. I suspect Dusita expected this to be a much bigger hit than it has been, its not made much of a splash - but it's just too similar to others on the market. I suspect only crazy collectors like me will bite for the full size lol

I really tried to like this fragrance When I first looked at the notes, I was instantly intrigued. Not usually into “latte” like fragrances but gave this one a shot. It looked like it could be one of the best gourmand fragrances ever. But when I sprayed my sample, all that hype died. It’s honey dominant, but not that sweet. The fragrance in general isn’t that sweet. The latte presence is there, however, it doesn’t deliver. I was disappointed. Comparing this to Bianco Latte, it lasts longer but doesn’t have that attention grabbing caramel-vanilla sweetness Bianco Latte has. Kinda ironic since this has more sweet notes in it. If you had to choose between this and BL, go with BL.

I was hyped for this one since I love fragrances with Tonka Bean, however this is too gourmand for me. It doesnt smell cheap, however the caramel and white chocolate note make it a bit cloying for my taste. Like many of Dusita fragrances I've tried, the longevity isnt that good, it doesnt really project either. For 150EUR I expected waaay more. SCENT: 6.5/10 LONGEVITY:4.5/10 PRICE AND AVAILABILITY:3/10 is it blind buy safe? Only for gourmand lovers that dont mind breaking the bank.

Extremely heavy on the honey on my skin. Not a pleasant amount. Disappointing blind buy, luckily I got only the 15 ml bottle... Not even slightly reminiscent of Bianco Latte, which I love. Do not blind buy if you are a gourmand lover. Smells straight up like warm skimmed milk with way waaay too much honey ladeled in. Almost a scrubber for me 😔

Smells like Bianco Latte and Jovoy Fire at Will - but doesn’t have the synthetic cloying vibe that Bianco has. Kinda boring and feels a little redundant considering how flooded the fragrance market already is with the caramel vanilla profile.

Just unboxed Dusita Tonka Latte. First impression? Surprisingly salty on the first spray — not quite the milky, white-chocolate warmth I expected. Letting it sit, but still not getting those creamy amber notes everyone raves about. That said, I’m not giving up on it yet. Maybe it’s a cooler weather kind of scent. Will revisit later in the year.

I was super surprised when I did not like it AT ALL! Notes are perfect, but perfume itself feels heavy, not prominent, lacking of air. Try it before purchase, cause notes don't tell the 'truth' in this case Regarding comparison with Bianco Latte, which I love - no, it has absolutely no similarities in any possible way

I’m disappointed with this to be honest. I sprayed Tonka Latte side by side with Bianco latte and they’re completely identical. The only difference is this one is double the price. I was expecting something more. Something unique and different. It’s nice .... but it is just another boring caramel vanilla.

It’s just ok. On me, a bit of a rubbery, bianco latte. It’s making me a little nauseous as well.

Pissara‘s take on a beastly creamy gourmand, Spicy creamy benzoin heliotropin vanilla amber I’ve always been fascinated by these kind of ambery gourmand constructs in perfumery because they follow rules of their own. Vanillins give soft and tender fluff, heliotropin and coumarin a nutty almond like quality and benzoin-like raw materials give off that deeply enticing seductive depth. Modern perfumers feed maltol and lactones (and often amberwoods) to closer resemble specific dessert-like qualities, but also extend tenacity in otherwise fluffy, sweet, yet surprisingly quiet formulas. Pissara proves here once and for all that she is just as skilled in modern perfumery as she is in recreating retro giants. Chai latte meets almond caramel pastries in a massive overindulgent dance that reminds me of dessert buffets at lavish Indian weddings (see Burfi dessert). Those looking for Pissara‘s prior naturalistic works will not find them here. This is a tribute to modern gourmand perfumery done with quality and balance in mind. While I don’t wear this one myself, my girlfriend loved it, and by extension I get to enjoy it on particularly cold nights that require its booming warmth and playfulness.

Sweet almond opening. Almond note lingers for quite a while. Honeyed, slightly woody core. Tiny touch of cinnamon or spice. Something in the top or mid notes has a kind of plasticky sweetness that's a bit gross to me, but that plastic feeling calms down over the first hour. Drydown is a dark vanilla and powdered milk with a coconut tinge. Can't say I'd wear it again because of the plastic feeling, but I'd probably enjoy it on somebody else. If you often find that sweet gourmands smell plasticky to you, you will probably find that is the case here as well. Definitely one to check out if you love sugary scents, though!

Definitely similar to Tom Ford vanilla sex, and it was interesting because I had just sampled that the day before and didn't even know that this was gonna be under the reminds me of section. I just immediately thought of it and often times I find the reminds me of section to be very very off. Also has similarities to orgasmo in my opinion which I own and had I smelled either vanilla sex or this before orgasmo I would bought either instead because the bottle for orgasmo is horrendous in my opinion and also even more Play-Doh whereas I find this to have the least Play-Doh aspect of the three. I really like this.

I don't agree with the comparisons to Bianco Latte. Here the notes behave differently. The tonka and vanilla notes are very intense. I don't get the lactonic notes nor the white chocolate. In Bianco Latte you can feel the milky notes very clearly and it is mostly vanilla, not too much tonka. Tonka Latte is very different. It is not something I would wear often. The musk and the tonka/almond combo is a little bit too cloying. Too synthetic. The musk feels soapy and clashes with the gourmand notes. On my skin, it ends up smelling like sweet bug spray. Sample it first people.

This is almost a dead ringer for SORCE Strings of Light in the Forest, which is a creamed "honey+vanilla milkshake". They both share that same powdery quality. I really don't get any resemblance with any of the other Reminds Me Of section, but if you've smelled SOLITF then you basically know what this smells like. Except this one loses it's strength within 10 minutes and settles to be a more light honeyed-lotion. If you like the opening of this more then get the SORCE.

This to me smells like a not-so-sweet honeyed version of Narcotica’s love me latte without the weird sour opening. This is airy, cozy with an arms length projection. I like it better than LML coz it is very smooth, and for this scent DNA the performance is just perfect. It’s perfume-y and not so gourmand-gourmand type of a fragrance so i think it is very wearable. Standout notes are Honey, milk, and white chocolate

Was waiting at the mailbox for my preorder! This is the chic, sophisticated interpretation of the category (Bianco Latte, Afternoon Delight). I feel badly even comparing it because this is in a league of its own. It’s the creamy-caramel vibe without the screechy synthetics. This wears closer to skin, comforting yourself with wafts of rich warmth, and avoiding irritating everyone in the room! It’s a winner for me.

This is not like Bianco Latte. It is mainly about almond to me, but not the powdery type. I like it a lot, but it isn’t unique or even really a tonka heavy perfume. It is most like PT Hiver Heliotrope Blanc which is also almond centred. However it is beautifully crafted, long lasting and not overpowering sweet (thank goodness). It is pretty linear and straightforward but still good. Worth sampling, unisex.

I went through an entire bottle of Bianco Latte and Tonka Latte is a dead ringer for Bianco Latte. The coumarin, which I felt was too strong in BL, is even more ramped up in here to the point where I don't notice caramel or which chocolate at all. In this scent profile, I prefer Ellis Brooklyn's Queen's Caramel because that fragrance places more emphasis on the caramel and vanilla notes.

Powdered glacé cherry marzipan. (On initial spray) Reminds me of the palmers cocoa body butter feel in Dream by The Maker. Nothing like BL. Vanilla Sex is way better than this. Tonka Latte is not an exact copy either. Bee by Zoologist is more syrupy and strong and putyournoseinajarofhoney. This, is not that. This is straight up powdered Dr. Pepper. So disappointed.👎🏻
