J'ai Osé Baby

Today, I am wearing Jai Ose Baby Powder. This is my second time wearing this fragrance. The first time I wore it was in the summer. I didn't care much for it, thought it would be more of a baby powder scent--instead of just being powdery. I decided to layer it with Love's Baby Soft, which I have adored for many moons; the two together complemented each other nicely. Today, I decided to give Jai Ose a try in the wintertime. This fragrance starts off as a powdery, rose powerhouse--then it dries down to a baby powder-y skin scent. All notes listed above can be detected in the initial spray. Also, the initial spray does smell dated. You would think that this eau de toilette was created in the late 80s or early 90s because of the bold sandalwood and big rose that is so forthright with the initial sprays. However, the initial spray of this fragrance is very loud, so I decided to layer Jai Ose again. This time, I layered it with Victoria's Secret Violet Lily. These two work awesome together. Violet Lily adds charm and youth to Jai Ose, making it effervescent, feminine, and sleek. In closing, I think that Jai Ose Baby Powder works well accompanying other fragrances. It has very little longevity--maybe 4 hours. Also, it has limited sillage. It has to be reapplied throughout the day. The packaging is very cute, making it great for collectors. In my opinion, this is not a safe blind buy.

Laroche J'ai Ose Baby is a dry, not too sweet mix of powdered lemon with a touch of raspberry, blended with soft rose and sweet jasmine. The jasmine here is not the animalic type. There's nothing animalic in this scent. The soft flowers keep Baby from being too tart and too sharp. Strong crisp woody sandalwood and warm amber are noticably ever present, to make this a totally adult scent. It is powdery, like talc, but not too sweet like real baby powder. Baby is great to wear in any season, and is fine for office with just a couple light sprays. First spray is strong, but soon settles down and lasts more than 8 hours on my skin, with moderate sillage. I'm amazed to find I get lots of compliments from men when I wear this Baby. Oh, Baby, you're one of my favorites for sure !

Aldehydes, florals and a little hit of maybe oakmoss or vetiver with sandalwood and musk. Very light. Springtime. Not fantastic or unique. Nice. Okay. Heavy spray was 4+ hours as a soft skin scent, but I don't find this very powdery. It's not like baby powder or talc.

i blind bought this for the bottle. it was cheap enough that even if i hated the fragrance, i figured it would still be cute to have sitting on my shelf as decoration! the initial spray was just SOOO alcohol though. genuinely an assault on my senses for a few seconds there. i was really hoping for a baby powder kind of scent, but i am not getting that at all. it does not smell bad however, which honestly feels like a win when blind buying something this random. it is pleasant enough, just not particularly noteworthy. i do not dislike it, but i do not think i would have sought it out for the fragrance alone. still, i am happy it smells nice and the bottle remains adorable, so no regrets!

Dry and powdery in a woody way. No sweetness, so good if you want a powdery perfume but find baby powder style ones a bit cloyingly sweet :)

Fragrance Review For J'ai Osé Baby Parfums J'ai Osé Notes Lemon Raspberry Rose Jasmine Amber Sandalwood Powder Notes Baby Want A Bottle? 2001 Bottle This is a cute packaging! Comes in a baby milk bottle! It reminds me of the celebrity scent Melanie Martinez Cry Baby Perfume Milk, and it's obvious the designer of the bottle copied it from this one which predates it. So this is a soft powdery floral fruity and very "teen" and school-girly. It reminds me of similarly powdery florals like Dana Love Baby Soft. It's easy to wear and can be worn by girls both under 18 and over 18. This has no age but it's definitely a sweet simple powder based fragrance. Starts off fruited with raspberry candy and with a berry flavor mixed with some tart citrus courtesy of a lemon. Smells like a lemon candy and or raspberry candy. The sweetness is very innocent and smells good when applied to the ends of my hair like a really pleasant kind of hair spray or shampoo. Eventually it turns a bit floral with only 2 notes of rose and jasmine, heady and very dainty pretty somewhat soapy flowers. The rose note is very pronounced. I love the rose in this scent, it's a rosebud with a timid projection. The whole thing turns into a warm powder and amber. Baby can be worn as a casual scent, even an everyday scent if you're just starting to get into perfume and go to junior high or high school. It's more female oriented than male, so I would not recommend this to guys. It's quite delicate and powdery, sweet. This feels great right after a shower or bath, especially after a bath. The dry notes as it settles and finishes is so lovely as all I get is a gossamer fabric of powder, like literally wearing powder. This is not a big statement perfume, not mature, not sophisticated but it's very pleasant and vintage smelling. Nothing out there like this not even the aforementioned Melanie Martinez fragrance. If I had to compare this to another scent besides Dana's Love Baby Soft I would say it's comparable to Versace Baby Rose Jeans. This is more like Baby Rose Jeans as a matter of fact except that one had a really nice violet and was more floral than this. If you like those scents, check this out. These are the listed notes on the perfumes website and the older box. Top notes are aldehydes, coriander, citruses and peach; middle notes are sandalwood, patchouli, orris root, jasmine, vetiver, cedar and rose; base notes are oakmoss, amber, musk and benzoin. It makes a difference because if you are like me, peach is a no no and coriander smells very savory on my skin. Just wanted to inform folks bc notes listed are always an advertising decision, not what the actual chemist/perfumer listed. Marketing looks at trends, looks at notes and commences writing ad copy. It's the norm, not all notes will be "highlighted". Just the popular ones ~ the rest are a free surprise, lol. Now to the scent, for the price this is a nice little 80sh treat. I don't like to wear it, but I like to sniff the bottle bc it reminds me of being a kid at a grown up event. Big, complicated scents were in their heyday. Along with the real scent of Auqanet hairspray, not the stuff of today, but.........put a bunch of ppl together, body heat from the crowd, lots of lipstick/face powder and I get a scent memory.

This is my second purchase of Baby. This time around it iis ringing a bell with Creation by Ted Lapidus. . . . (has it been reformulated since 1984?) I recently acquired. Either my sense of memory smell is off or I have acquired a different sense of scents. From smelling the Creation and Baby I see many similarities but Baby is not able to carry off the honey note that Creation does, which makes Creation so much more grown up and Baby less so. This time around it seems less aldehydic and toned waaaayy down. It mellows out after abs 30 minutes to 1 hour and snuggles close. It becomes a softie after having packed such an initial punch. I really don't discern much fruit with this one, more a creamy, soft and faint flowery vanilla vibe, like smelling a package of cotton candy that may have been left open with a smidge of candy apple. Sadly, no rose notes to be found.

I’m usually the one for whom anything possibly sweet or powdery veers off that cliff. I get a little rose, but not a sweet or powdery rose. Almost earthy, maybe a bit woody, not sweet sandalwoody, no candy, maybe dry apple flavor. Maybe more ambery. Low, but hovers. Clean, no sourness. This in a weird and very subtle way, is somehow one of the best rose notes on me. I wish I could find a powder that smelled this good. This is really a treat. Reading notes, this should not work so well for me, but it just suits my skin. It’s like the wine version of what is usually sugary yuk juice on me! Yay! No idea what potion makes you get one vs the other when ingredients are so close, but wish I knew so I could more easily hunt them down. I’d call this soft next to Smokey and almost incense regular ose, but I wouldn’t call it the baby!

I found this for a steal after loving the EDP of J'ai Ose (Current version) and this is amazing! Woody and musky/animalic. I have to disagree with another review that states this is not animalic. I think it is. Sooooo musky and woody, powdery, just a hint of fruit. It's like two sides... sweet and innocent fruit/powder, but then a skanky woody jasmine-rose vintage vibe. This is divine. My first 100ml was only $16, and I bought another backup for $20. Love it. And yeah, that bottle is adorable. Longevity/sillage is average/poor, which is why I bought the back up. Because I love this. It does smell like a "family member" to the EDP/regular J'ai Ose. I think J'ai Ose EDP has poor sillage/potency too, but I love the super smoky leather/earth. The binky on the top is hard plastic, not rubber. ;)

Got this at the flea market today for $5.00 . It's an abstract "baby" smell (powder, lotion and such) however it's not cheap smelling like Love's Baby Soft OR Avon's Sweet Honesty . It's got a bit of body , weight and projection to it! A nice surprise. So I guess; if anyone ever goes to the FORUM in here and asks "Looking for a nicer quality version of Love's Baby Soft / Sweet Honesty". Answer: THIS . One weird issue: it stings my skin a bit. Also ; this has "going to be discontinued soon" stamped all over it. Just a feeling I get ..................

This appears to me as not so much floral-fruity as it seems fruity-chypre. It is a sharp fruity for sure with a melange of florals merging together to make a rather nice fragrance. It may be a little on the sharp side upon first application then dries down to an acceptable level. I admit I initialy purchased this fragrance for the bottle (so kwaii); the fact that the juice is wonderful is just gravy. Lasting power is roughly 3-4 hrs with a light spraying. Lingers on fabric/clothing for a bit longer.

In my previous review I stated: " . . I have worn today and I now get dusty, quaint rose, but still no fruit and not sweet as cotton candy, but more powdery, slightly woody rose and powder, like vintage talc.

How odd. I received the tiny crystal parfum flacon of this today. Sealed. At first I was hit by a powdery muguet. It hit me suddenly that it is very similar to L'air du Temps to my nose. It even has the warm breath accord. I'm not sure how that's possible with the listed notes and everyone seems to be smelling this one differently.

Just bought this as a blind buy. For $19 not bad! Not bad at all! It’s a nice sweater weather scent for fall/winter. Musky and powdery. I get the musk more than anything. I layered it with Demeter baby powder and got an even nicer scent. Very cozy. For $19 I recommend it for powder musk lovers like myself.

Delicate raspberry-rose on total drydown. Quite a fresh and feminine smelling fragrance. Not particularly powdery to me. Similiar to Fidji dna but much simpler and softer. No spiciness here. Paid 8 bucks for the one oz. 'baby bottle' which is adorbs. I enjoy it! Cute packaging. ✨

It's ot a review since I don't have this perfume. Is this a baby bottle? With a binky on top? Is this scent for kids?
