Cheyenne Autumn

Love at first whiff. Perfectly captures the smell of autumn. Very high quality ingredients and very natural smelling. Whats well done here is the earthiness is very well balanced by green and woody notes which is difficult to find in a lot of other scents I have tried. In the air the earthibess is well behaved and the scent smells deep yet uplifting. Its not an autumn scent, its autumn in a bottle. This is one of those perfumes that depicts perfumery as an art and reminds you why you got into perfumes. Solid 9/10.

Cheyenne Autumn is a smooth, appealing woody aromatic. Despite the long note list and the house’s description of an untamed landscape, it is not especially animalic or wild. I mainly get conifer lift and sweet hay, with leather, moss, castoreum, vetiver, and woods forming a subtle supporting base. The darker materials give the perfume some grounding, but they never move strongly to the front. It remains fresh and fairly light, closer to a masculine-leaning cologne. The overall image for me is a hay bale at the edge of a field where it meets the forest. More than autumn, it evokes harvest time in late summer or early fall. It would suit casual weekends when someone wants to smell clean and outdoorsy.
