Evolution De L'Homme Matin

Solar Girl should be corrected, as this is not an inspiration of Frapin L'Humaniste. That one is called Summer Bottled, or Summer Bottled Intense(more intense inspiration), also by Parfums Vintage. This Parfums Vintage release is 1 of 2 inspired by Roja Dove's Elysium Cologne. Evolution De L'Homme Soir having the same vetiver base notes, and Evolution De L'Homme Matin having a patchouli base, giving it better sillage and longevity, better performance than the original. It is a spot on interpretation, more than the 2020 Cologne Parfum. It is also the better of the 3 (4?) interpretations by Alexandria and Dua respectively, as I have tried all of the Elysium clones by those houses as well.

Take the original Elysium and make it more powerful, but slightly less nuanced in the note breakdown, and that's pretty much what Evolution De L'Homme Matin is. I like the patchouli base, and it serves well to give this better performance than the original. For the price, I would reach for this every time over Elysium.

Sweet, citric patchouli mixer. Berries, ambergris. Dank. Unique. Lots of character, especially considering PV is a clone house. I really like the opening and it lasts. Unfortunately falls apart as it develops; the notes muddle together, the scent gets a little musky and loses its intensity.

Great scent in the traditional, after shave ritual, more for the dressier settings, zesty, clean, bright, sharp citric opening, then blends into a comfy leather, almost to a pencil charcoal effect, it is what the label says, vintage after all. For the independent, well dressed.

Dislike. Too sharp. Too sour. Reminds me of dollar store lemon cleaner. I am a BIG fan of Parfums Vintage (Pineapple Vintage, Verbena Fields, X Batch)... but I am apparently not refined enough to appreciate this one.

Purchased a sample via from Parfums Vintage to get an idea on how Roja’s Elysium, which I haven’t smelled, was and see the PV twist too it. I am disappointed that the dry-down is too similar to Aventus.

oh, too bad this one has so many bad reviews. I got the sample by accident in a perfume exchange haul and gave it to my partner, among other samples. This one stood out the most whenever he wore it. It reminded me of raw version of L'Humaniste by Frapin, no surprise because now when I look at the notes half are the same. EDlHM has ambergris and musk which give quite prominent animalic aspect. Not dirty/fur/barnyard animalic, but more modern, polished, iso E super, Aventus (like someone said) "body + men sweat + freshness" animalic :D It works good with all the fresh notes of lemon, lime, bergamot, juniper, thyme, cedar... Really nice. It is fresh, and strong and powerful at the same time. I am sorry that all some people can smell is lemon. Perhaps they should give it a bit more time, since citrus is strong only in the opening. Anyways, I like how it smells on men, performance is above excellent too, and now it is in my few favorites for the next gift purchase.
