Evolution De L'Homme Soir

Since There isn't to much on here atm in terms of comparison, let me elaborate. I own both Parfums Vintage Evolution De L'Homme Soir and Roja Elysium Parfum Cologne. First thing I did when receiving my Parfums Vintage was a comparison. The opening of these are both similar with Parfums Vintage however having MUCH STRONGER grapefruit......it's almost all grapefruit. It is pleasant but extremely piercing and not as composed and smooth(well rounded) as Roja Elysium PC. When these both have a little time to settle and dry down is when you notice that Parfums Vintage has a reason for all that grapefruit. The rest of the fragrance begins to catch up and develope a lot more closely to Elyisium PC. At this point they are extremely close to my nose. Sure the Roja does consist of a better quality and depth but the fact that Parfums Vintage is this close to it for a fraction of the price is outstanding. I thoroughly enjoy both and am glad to have this Parfums Vintage within my collection.

My no1 summer scent! I really love this fragrance! This opens with a blast of citruses, it's sparkling, fresh with a beautiful vetiver note. The vetiver is very prominent in this fragrance, it's clean, not earthy and gives to the fragrance some masculinity. I get some sweetness from the vanilla, some fruitiness from the juniper berries and the black currant and some sweet sourness from the ambergris. This is quite complex for a freshy! The performance is really good for a freshy, 7-8 hours longevity and good projection for 2 hours. This is very versatile, it can be used all year round and it can't offend anyone. It's a signature worthy scent! Overall, i am impressed! Fresh fragrances usually don't impress me but this is different. The price is a bit high but less than the overpriced Elysium. If you like Elysium this is a great, less expensive alternative!

cheaper alternative to Roja Elysium, also lasts longer than Roja, just doesn’t open as smooth as Roja, but dries down to practically the same scent.

This is absolutely the best fragrance I have in my collection. The citrus and Vetiver blend together beautifully, and it lasts for 8+ hours.

Parfums Vintage Evolution De L’Homme Soir opens with a moderate projection combining sweet citrus and green woody accords. The grapefruit, lemon, bergamot, and juniper berries are the most prominent opening notes, they create a sharp, sour, sweet note. The juniper berries add a woody, pine-like, and fruity touch, very pleasant. The thyme and pink pepper are just a spicy touch. As the fragrance commences to dry-down, the mid and base notes combine themselves into groups of accords. The jasmine and rose, add a very soft floral touch, the black currant, and vetiver, add a soft but sharp fruity and green accord; the cedar adds its woody accord which is noticeable, and finally, the ambergris and musk add a soft touch which helps with projection but does not change the citrus and juniper berry nature of the fragrance. All remaining notes are very faint. The most noticeable change from the opening to the dry-down is the loss of projection, the fragrance moves from moderate to low projection very quickly. Once Parfums Vintage Evolution De L’Homme Soir has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a low projection, slightly sweet, bergamot, and juniper berries fragrance with woody, spicy, soft floral accords. The fragrance feels diurnal, faint, slightly fruity, masculine, modern, natural, slightly sweet, versatile, weak, woody, and pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2019 WOW RATING: 7/10. Evolution De L’Homme Soir is a pleasant but not impressive fragrance. DISLIKE RATING: 0/10. This fragrance does not contain any offensive notes. UNIQUENESS: 5/10. This scent is relatively common. MASS APPEAL: 8/10. This is a crowd-pleasing fragrance but not the most. PROJECTION: 2/10. Low, about two feet around the wearer. SILLAGE: 2/10 Low, about two feet behind the wearer. APPLICATION: Six atomizations to compensate for low projection and sillage. LONGEVITY: 4/10. About 4 hours but with 1 of moderate projection. SEASONS: Any. OCCASIONS: Formal events, outdoor gatherings, office, business, casual, romantic, dating. This is an office-friendly fragrance. VERSATILITY: 10/10. This is a highly versatile fragrance that will fit almost any occasion. GENDER: Masculine. Its woody accords tilt it to the masculine side but not for much. AGES: Any. RECOMMENDATION: Parfums Vintage Evolution De L’Homme Soir can be found for $135 for 100ml. Although it is advertised as EDP reality presents a less than EDT fragrance which although it delivers a pleasant scent, it gets weak quickly. It is a nice-to-have, but not a must-have. BLIND-BUY: Yes, but only if you are familiar with its main notes. SIMILAR: Bond No 9 Scent of Peace for Him is a great fragrance and features juniper berries, pineapple, woods, juniper berry, and sweet notes; Dua Fragrances – Poseidon's Tux has a great projection and performance and brings pineapple, juniper berries, floral and woody accords. SUMMARY: A low projection, slightly sweet, bergamot, and juniper berries fragrance with woody, spicy, soft floral accords. The fragrance feels diurnal, faint, slightly fruity, masculine, modern, natural, slightly sweet, versatile, weak, woody, and pleasant.

Masculine leaning citrus bomb. Lots of muddled nuance. Sharp blend. The grapefruit note is similar to what’s found in Tyger, and the lime is 🤤. Mild musky overtone. Maintains its personality for most of the wearing. One of the best from the house. Unfortunately, the projection leaves a lot to be desired; at least on my skin. Still a VG scent.

Great citric opening intro, but wait You will taken into a richer leather, sour lemon, a tad smoky but this is the night option opposed to the Matin (morning) scent, light and not too imposing like Bleu de channel or elysium.

It smells good... I get a lot of grapefruit from it.

Smelling this and Roja side by side and it’s not even close. Roja Elysium smells creamy and light citrus. Evolution has this abrasive citrus opening that finally settles down to citrus/herbal mess that is sort of in the ball park of Elysium. Unfortunate because Parfums mostly hit the nail on the head with Emperor Extrait => to Creed’s Aventus. As unfortunate as the price is for Elysium, for this from Parfums Vintage I would definitely pass.

Ah, where do I start with this? Firstly, I write this somewhat reluctantly, as I believe that I consistently attempt to be open-minded and objectively analyse the fragrances I put my nose on to give others my honest impressions, even if that means disregarding my own personal taste, preferential notes, etc. I think generally I have more respect than most for fragrance houses that are considered 'clone' houses - I believe there's something honourable about trying to interpret something coveted for an affordable price so the DNA can receive more widespread appreciation - particularly if the 'clone' house in question attempts to put their own spin on it, which Parfums Vintage often does, and with relative success. Rest assured, I'm not writing this out of some kind-of sense of entitlement that often accompanies niche fragrance snobbery on many of Fragrantica's comment sections. With all that being said, I am struggling to understand where the hype for this fragrance stems from. Having not smelt Roja Dove's Elysium Parfum Cologne in person yet, I only have other reviewers opinions to go on, and the general concensus SEEMS to be fairly clear cut - this is as close to Elysium as you can currently find on the market without having the real deal. And if that is true, where exactly does the hype come from? This frag is an absolute grapefruit bomb. From the 3 wearings I've given it so far, I would honestly struggle to differentiate this fragrance and all it's blended notes from 100% pure grapefruit fragrance oil. People often talk about the prominence of vetiver, the spine of ambergris, the sweetness of blackcurrant, in Elysium. Absolutely none of that is evident here. I am willing to entertain the idea that the grapefruit, lime and bergamot in the opening is so aggressive and prominently featured throughout, that I have simply become anaesthetised to some of the subtleties offered in the depth of this fragrance, but in my experience so far, I am yet to encounter any. Another point to note is that when you spray this on your skin, the juice consistency is such that it leaves an oily / greasy patch on your skin for up to two hours after application. I've never experienced another fragrance that does this, at least not to the same extent. Yes, the performance is great - 10+ hours on skin, excellent projection. But, I struggle to see the appeal in that unless you're interested in smelling like a shimmering grapefruit all day. I guess there are worse things to smell of, but for the money, I'd expect more balance, and a greater depth.

Elysium clone with a little more base leaning than original, top notes start to fade after an hour. Lasts longer than original by a 3-4 hours.

I found the opening to be unpleasant, Sort of a combo of herbal tea with some citruses, very bitter. Pass.
