Exaltant Le Musc Intense

So I smelt Bleeker street once and thought it was nice, but not something I would have purchased. Having been impressed with some of PV's other frags, I got myself a sample of the intense version (blueberry amped up sounds nice to me). Well I wasn't disappointed. Sprayed this on before work and I instantly really liked it! I do like fruity smells most of the time, but usually find the performance and projection a let down. This was not the case here, I could smell this thing for hours and that fruit was intoxicating - better than bleecker street for me and on my order list!

This one is a major major GO! It's a very nice scent. It's not over powering but it does last a long time. The intense version basically has more of a blueberry blast to it. I really enjoy this one. It kind of reminds me of a old Burberry cologne I had in 2001.

Parfums Vintage Exaltant Le Musc Intense opens with a moderate projection of suede, spicy and violet leaf accords. The suede feels dry and slightly synthetic. The black currant, cinnamon are a soft spicy but noticeable touch, not as prominent as the combination of suede and the green violet leaf. The blueberry and jasmine add a soft fruity and floral accord but are not prominent. The cedarwood and oakmoss join as a soft woody, dry moss, and herbaceous touch; the patchouli and vanilla are faint and almost unnoticeable. The noticeable change from opening to dry-down is some loss of performance and the leather notes which intensifies the suede. The fragrance feels airy, diurnal, earthy, gentle, herbaceous, leathery-like, mature, mild, modern, rare, special, slightly spicy, unique, mildly woody, and pleasant. Comparing to Bond No. Bleecker St. and Parfums Vintage Exaltant Le Musc Intense, Bleecker is less spicy, the green accords feel more leaned to the vegetable side, and it does not have a leather note; Exaltant Le Musc Intense feels spicier, more leathery, and the green accords are leaned to the herbaceous and mossy side. Choose Bleecker St if you prefer the original, less spicy, and more green vegetable-like suede fragrance; choose Parfums Vintage Exaltant Le Musc Intense if you prefer a clone that favors a more spicy, leathery and green herbaceous/mossy-like suede fragrance. This is not a clone of Bleeker Street, this is an improvement on Bleeker Street. This is everything that Bleeker Street should have been. The blueberry/violet leaf forward character of Exaltant le Musc will scratch the itch left by the over-earthy character of Bleeker.

Yes, this will give you the feel of Bleecker Street but if you love Bond no 9's creation/Purple label rip off you will know this isn't quite as good I won't get into the notes too much, but the sharp, almost raw blueberry/cassis (blackcurrant note) isn't as natural smelling or as pronounced as the original. Things do settle down and it does grow closer to Bleecker St with the harshness calming down - the casual passer by is unlikely to notice much difference as the spirit is captured. But a side by side reveals this to be woodier/muskier than Bleecker St (hence the Musc in the title?) and the greenness isn't quite there.. The musky/woodiness may be why the fruit isn't quite as dominant. I have a feeling Exaltant Le Musc intense is likely closer to Purple Label - so I will update later with a direct comparison Performance of Exaltant le Musc Intense would appear to be good . EDIT: Having compared it to Purple Label, I'd say Exaltant le Musc Intense falls in the middle between Purple Label and Bleecker St. Exaltant le Musc Intense is a bit fruitier and less woodsy than Purple Label but more woody and less fruity than Bleecker Street. I'd lean to Exaltant le Musc Intense being slightly closer to Purple Label and I'd say, rather boldy, that this is the BEST Purple Label clone out there. But it isn't the best Bleecker street one I am comparing it right now to Dua's own interpretation called Greenwich Village - this is closer to Bleecker St. It captures better the fruit and greenness although this too isn't as good as the original - Greenwich village by Dua is more Bleecker St with the lights slightly dimmed. But Dua's is the best version of Bleecker that I've found so far. I'm sticking with the original though.

Quick review: Never checked out the inspiration fragrance to compare, though I don't care to, as I'm not fond of this scent. Could be due to the hotter temps, however the notes clash more than co-exist. That blueberry/black current combo is throwin' hammerfist's against the leather/suede duo. It calms down, and then you're left with cucumber smoothie essence... Pass for me. I'll check again in the fall.

I am getting Dior Fahrenheit vibe out of that I do no know how Bond no 9 smells as never had a chance to sniff it...longavity is ok around 8h on me..I do like this one maby cause I do like Dior Fahrenheit as well. I wouldn't pay the price asked by PV..I would rather go for genuine Fahrenheit instead.
