Intrigo Devastante Intense

If you're a manly man, stay away from this fragrance. This is a powdery, baby-butt scent that emanates lavender, and talcum. Has depth to it, with light aromas of those base notes flashing through, however I can't stand this scent, as a fragrance I would wear, at all. Check it out for yourself, and at worst, you can use it to lighten up the smell of a room, or for the bathroom. Might be a better fit for ladies, yet, this doesn't have a super feminine vibe either. Weird clone.

I'll be plain....this smells disgusting. It literally disgusted me. It smells like a hundred-year-old lady that soiled herself. Sorry for the image but...better to read it than to smell it.

Little intro to my experience with By Man. I got a 1ml decant of this back in 2018 from Greggieboy (frangrance samples UK). I was aware of it's cult status and had been wanting to try for quite some time. When I first sampled By Man, I was disappointing. I found the fragrance quite sickening to be honest, floral and feminine. I actually washed it off, I couldn't stand it. Now that being said, I still respected the composition but it wasn't for me. Fast forward to February 2020, I visited Edinburgh for a weekend trip and whilst there bought some Dove Antiperspirant for the trip. I showered on the second day and sprayed it on after, I was instantly reminded of something. At first I thought it smelt similar to Le Male, but I knew that wasn't right. I realized after an hour or so that it was the sample of By Man that it reminded me of. It smelt great - albeit, it had that rough antiperspirant vibe. This changed my perspective on By Man. On returning home, I found my decant which was used up but still had one spray left in tube. So what changed? I could see this fragrance now as a masculine, chic, modern barbershop scent which seemed to be perfect for warm nights in Italy. I've hunted for a bottle for over a year now and not found one, well at a reasonable price. I'd happily pay £150 but I've seen it available for £300 up to £500. So after a year of searching, I finally decided to try Intrigo Devastante. I'm weird with fragrances, I've bought clones in the past but something in me stops me from wearing them. I'm a musician and photographer, and my kinda work ethic is that the smallest of details matter to the overall picture. I can't ever overlook the details, everything has to be spot on. So I had watched many reviews, and a lot of people praised this fragrance - but many of them hadnt even tested By Man. I decided to order a sample from Parfums vintage of Intrigo Devastante and the Intense version. Which took one day to arrive and were wonderfully packaged for samples. So, moment of truth. I started with the Intense as the reviews I'd watched favoured this by quite a bit. On first spray - smells almost identical to By Man BUT I find this to be less floral and more masculine than By Man. Which works in my favour. The quality of the fragrance is superb, projection is great for the first 2 hours, after that I still get whiffs of it. I still have my decant of By Man, however, it's empty and the smell remains only as a memory - a small amount of the fragrance remains - I guess soaked into the plastic or something. To my nose, IDI is slightly less sweet/less floral. But this to my nose, is an unexpected improvement on the original. It is truly fabulous and I will be buying a 100ml very soon. Quickly on the non Intense version. It's much lighter, airy but still quite handsome. The Intense is much closer to By Man. However, if this was your signature scent and you wore it as a daily driver, I'd wear Intrigo Devastante for work and the Intense for dates, holidays, events, weddings, bars and clubs etc. But for me, I'd rather save the DNA of By Man for things like holidays say in Naxos in Greece, or the Amalfi Coast - just at sunset when the air is still warm but the suns heat has reduced, the sky is turning pastel pinks and blues, the lights of the restaurants and bars are coming on. This is what this fragrance was created for and I will be taking Intrigo Devastante Intense with me on my next holiday in 2021, which at the moment will be Corfu in May. I'm not sure how this fragrance sells for Parfums Vintage, so in case of this fragrance being discontinued by the company I will get a 100ml and save it until I go away so I can create some wonderful memories with it. At the moment, i'd give this a 9.2/10. I adore this fragrance and even prefer to By Man. If I had to say anything negative about it, I'd say the bottle design leaves a lot to be desired. I'm not fond of Parfum Vintages bottles. I'd prefer to see something more chic and classy. That being said, the original By Man was quite tacky but had an odd charm about it with it's retro feel. Other than that, the fragrance is beautiful.

I've sampled both Intrigo Devastante and Intrigo Devastante Intense from the website and found them to be very similar to D&G's By Man, mainly in the opening. Unfortunately, both stay almost the same throughout without much development where as By Man's magic unpacks once the dry down reveals itself. They're both decent interpretations of the scent but if you are like me who enjoys By Man's dry down far more than its opening then I'm afraid that neither versions capture that aspect. I truly hope that Parfums Vintage would give it a another go to capture that wonderful warm, comforting dry-down By Man possess.

This is supposed to be a clone of By Man from Dolce and Gabbana I never smelled By Man but I have Kristiansand New York and Intrigo Devastante Intense smells a lot like it but is better and with very good overall performance, very unique scent, For me this is an 8/10. I also get hints of Burberry touch for men and English Laundry signature.
