A Chaos In The Ocean

This is less a perfume and more an artwork of scent reproduction and synthesis. Its kind of abstract, like an avant-garde painting or a cult movie in scent format. I was looking for something completely different to the other stuff i have in my collection and i've been looking for unique and unusual scents that evoke nature and the organic world as i'm a big nature lover. So this sure fit the bill. Its turned out to be a fantastic blind buy and this is because its almost completely obscure and totally original (to me anyway) I actually HATE blue fragrances and have hated them my entire life. Without exception, i just can't abide aquatics and fresh breezy watery fougeres, i never cared for them even when they were trendy in the 80's and early 90s and all the other guys loved them.....Kenzo pour Homme, Armani Aqua de Gio, Nautica Voyage, Davidoff Cool Water etc...they're all crap to me and always were, they smell like liquid hand soap or freshly cleaned airport toilets. And none of them last 5 minutes on my skin anyway. So i had some doubts and fears of that as i grabbed a bottle of chaos in the ocean. This is actually a work of art. You can't do anything else but artificially synthesize the smell of the sea because you can't simply bottle it, or collect it to refine it. That doesn't work. To create perfumes you collect the raw ingredients to distill them and they give you the notes and therefore the scent. It doesn't work with water, so seawater and aquatic life have to be artificially recreated from scratch from the bottom up. Recent technological innovations and the continuing development of ISO chemicals mean that we can now do that where it was impossible in the past. This actually 100% smells exactly like the sea, including the salty breeze when you're on deck, or that bacterial, sour yet fresh lime/lemon-like scent when you're swimming in it. It smells like the shallow waters of the harbours edge, including the driftwood, the seaweed, the dry algae...its photo-realistic. I love it. Its an amazing creation. I don't know when the hell i'm going to ever wear it but i love it. This is absolutely never going to be a crowd pleaser, this is purely a perfumers kind of perfume. Its an amazing and unique recreation of the sea. To quote a review of megamare (which Chaos in the ocean is allegedly a dupe of) ......."Challenging at first, but charming and familiar once comfortable, much like the sea itself". Its really strong too, but i think it will mellow and blend as the weeks go by. projection filled the room and i felt like floodwaters were coming in! If you like something really off-key in life, get this. Its NOTHING like a regular Aquatic freshie...its just the salty sour smell of the sea. Nothing more. If you're a marine type, who loves sailing, surfing, water skiing etc i think you'll probably love this. UPDATE....Jan 26...I've had this for 4 months now, it settles right down and is not as fierce and strong as a few months back. To me, thats a good thing. Its quite gentle actually now and not as cloyingly potent. This is a perfect beach scent, its longevity is around 9 hours and it settles to a mild medium projection and sillage. It gives me a day by the sea... with the kelp and the driftwood caressed by a sea breeze drydown of hedione and calone and a very light musky vanilla wood to finish. Its developed and is not so linear now, there's a little more to this than just the sea but not much. I love this...its a unique scent and a raw, yet beautifully organic artistic gem. 8/10 for me

@Hridom I've written a bit more about it further down in the comments if it helps at all. But I thought I would update. It's a weird fragrance, weird in a good way, my opinion. It's surely unusual and it does smell like salt, sea, somewhat seaweed, seaflowery, seashell-ey, sweet (in a salty way). More citrusy in the beginning (3-4 hours) then it settles down forever to a rather salty scent. It lasts the day on skin, and it stays on clothes until washing (not in a strong way, but after a few days you can still tell that you've sprayed Chaos in the Ocean on them). However it's not an in your face fragrance, but rather soft and you sure go noseblind to it. You will keep getting whiffs of it throughout the day. Not sure if other people like it or not. When I smell it on my wife, I do like it very much. I don't think it fills the room with two sprays or whatever. It's just an odd, nice, decent performing fragrance in the sense that it's not gone within a couple of hours like plenty of others on the market, say Missoni Wave, or Bleu de Chanel and most "blue/citrusy freshies" (no matter how expensive), which is why I don't buy into freshies. They're a waste of money in my opinion. Bvlgari Tygar clones, say Vie Ciel or SAP Oud Leopard which I have, are also very decent performers, nice and intriguing. And so is Chaos in the Ocean. Worth buying for a decent price, if you find it under £30. My rule is: there is no reason spending over £30 on any fragrance, given the enormous and unbelieveably rapid growing perfume market. Let the hype settle or give it a miss altogether as there will be another release tomorrow and the following day and so on. Down the rabbit hole you go if not careful. Disclaimer: a fragrance can smell good and pleasant and be of high quality or just bad, unpleasant and repulsive. I don't care for notes and minimal differences between each clone. When you smell someone you meet, you're either impressed by an intriguing scent or say to yourself "That's vile? Ugh" and walk away. You never go "Oh I can sense Hedione from afar and a touch of Sandalwood on the exhale.". I recommend getting Chaos in The Ocean or Megara or Atlas or some other I haven't heard of yet. Bet there's more. Whichever is cheaper, they will likely smell the same. That's if you want to show others you smell like something they've never smelled on anyone. Intriguing and confusing, but good.

Blunt review in layman's terms. Rule #1: Give these middle eastern perfumes some sprays and time and they will develop and change for the better. Shocking and impressive science. I respect everyone's opinion but I blind buy all cheapies based on reviews and most of the time I'm just confused. Especially by posh words like: gourmand, powdery, ozonic, animalic etc. I'm aware what my labradog's fur stank like, trust me, no perfume is animalic. Just stop using words you or anyone else doesn't understand. Anyway, 9 out of 10 times when I finally test them, I'm impressed by how all over the wrong place the reviews are and how good each scent is in it's own way. I'm very neutral in judging perfumes as I don't dislike anything other than bath tub made fragrances and just mediocre scents that exude poverty. A perfume should do the opposite and mask the poverty we all live in, not amplify it. So, I'm able to appreciate a quality scent. A Chaos in the Ocean: Listen, ignore the bad reviews. This is unique, and pleasant and very nicely done. Synthetic? What does it even mean? Yeah, smells of salt, sea, sweet, fresh, somewhat green flowery. Of course, no one extracted the natural oils from the sea and salt. Sure synthetic, but in a good way. I was expecting it to smell of piss, seaweed and oysters and spread the stench all around my neighbourhood, based on reviews. No, just no. It's neither of those. And seaweed. Ok, maybe a touch of sea greenery, but soft and nice, like ocean flowers if that existed. It's a beautiful, unique, special scent that smells great on a freshly bathed man or woman. It's surely wearable. Potent but soft, unlike ouds and leathers. Projection and longevity: It's in the upper tier, and undoubtedly will get better with time. 2025 batch. Other than that, If you want to figure out longevity on anything, ask someone else after a certain time or breathe in someone else's stench to remind yourself how good you still smell. Never smelled Megamare, Atlas or Megara because I could never find either of them in the UK, but would happily buy them, to at least be able to compare with this as I really enjoy sniffing Chaos for how good it is.

This perfume immediately reminded me of the real sea, not the typical modern “blue fragrance” style we smell everywhere nowadays. This is not a clean shower gel scent, a tropical cocktail, or a luxury beach resort in a bottle. To me, it smells like a restless sea before a storm — wet wooden boats tied along the harbor, salty air, damp ropes, and the smell of diesel from a boat engine lingering between waves and soaked wood. There is something cold, raw, and almost melancholic about it. This is a very atmospheric fragrance, and I think people will either love it or completely misunderstand it. I noticed that some younger people associate these ozonic and mineral notes with new electronics or heated plastic, but to me it smells exactly like old boats, ship paint, wet docks, and the harbour after rain. I also own Lattafa Atlas, and they are indeed very similar, but Atlas feels cleaner and more polished, while Chaos is rougher, darker, and much more raw. That imperfect, stormy character is exactly what makes it special to me. If you enjoy scents of salt, rain, wet wood, wind, and the real sea — not the postcard version of it — this fragrance is absolutely worth trying. 🌊🌊🌊

Wonderful, this is a mood and place bottled. Smells like you're standing on a beach at the crack of dawn. It was raining all night. Sky is cloudy and dark, slight chill in the breeze, air heavy with salt from a churning ocean, high tide just receded and you're surrounded by wet sand littered with freshly deposited seaweed. There's a acidic note that cuts through this like a knife and persists for the whole ride. Melancholic freshness. This will work great for summer, high or low heat. Works amazingly on an warm, cloudy, rainy summer day. Longevity is pretty good on this. Does better on clothes than skin. Will easily carry you for 6 hours. I'm basing this on a fresh bottle, I am sure letting it sit for a few months after initial use will help in this department. Sensitive noses might find this to be too acidic. Spray too much and you can easily get a headache. I wouldn't recommend a blind buy but I do recommend this. If you like sharp acidic scents (Riff Freeze, 4711, Lattafa Emeer) then you will likely enjoy this.

This is a clear clone of Orto Parisi Megamare that won't choke out the room like the OG; that said it is still definitely strong so adjust your sprays accordingly if you like the spam the atomizer like me. Opens with a bright bergamot, lemon, and some sort of melon. The heart quickly comes through with a photorealistic marine accords featuring seaweed and calone. It is like I'm on a rocking boat with waves crashing, salty oceanic and chaotic. That ocean does eventually settle down to a base of earthy woods, ambroxan, and rather heavy musk. It will be a scorcher today so I want to think aquatic thoughts.

Perhaps the best budget clone of Orto Parisi Megamare. From the first spray, it impresses with a fresh, marine and slightly salty aroma, which is very reminiscent of the original. The beginning is great – fresh, clean and very pleasant. Unfortunately, on my skin, the durability is below expectations, and the aroma fades relatively quickly. The bottle is extremely beautiful and well-made. Overall - an excellent choice for Megamare fans, especially considering the price.

Bought this upon release, and it was nice. However, I didn't use it much, probably once or twice, because I was using Mugler Cologne during the hot days in South Africa. I've recently pulled it out, and wow it's transformed into a really nice salty aquatic fragrance, that's really performing well in the heat. Note, it's also one that I wouldn't over spray, because it can become very cloying. This is one of those fragrances, where less is more.

I absolutely love this fragrance! It has a great citrusy opening. After the dry down it smells like the ocean with a bit of citrusy touch to it. Although it’s supposed to be a megamare clone i dont find it that similar. I could try tge projecion because its winter, but the longevity is REALLY good. I took a shower and still could smell it. I would recommend this fragrance if you like megamare or niche artistic fragrances

just wow. it's not your typical aquatic scent. to put it roughly, in opening there's kinda sweet citrusy vibe, and slapped with kinda smell like medicine(?). smell like realistic salty deep sea. after let it sit for a while the sea notes get toned down and musky vibe takes part. longevity on this thing is absolutely nuts relative to it's price. sillage is pretty decent too. worth trying.

For me the opening is terrible and smells like cough syrup. The dry down smells musky and salty and I really enjoy it, after a few hours it smells aromatic and salty. The performance is excellent. People will smell you strong and on my skin it stays for 14 hours easily. In conclusion, this is a strong summer fragrance. Unusual, some will really love it and some will hate it

Literally smells like new electronics. You can detect some sea accords in the background, but it's mostly dominated by that amazing synthetic smell. Totally unconventional and attention grabbing, even if the attention is not always positive. Versatility is also top tier, I cannot find a reason why it wouldn't work in any season.

super strong and masculine. relatively mass appealing but i can see how it might be cloying to some as it leaves its scent bubble around you for the first 2 hours or so. also lasts well over 7 hours but havent tested it for longer (im sure it would make it to about 10 hours as its pretty much nuclear)

the cap on the bottle with leather wrapping is loose, scent is kinda synthetic at first, I can tell because i bought a decant before the bottle. set it aside coz smell awful to my nose, tried for like maybe after 3months or something and its smells smooth, salty and fresh. got a bottle rightaway

This is a killer parfume, i really love this one, this might be one of the best i ever have, amazing notes of seaweed and bergamot, this parfume is the best you can get for summer and spring. i rate it 10/10

A Chaos in the Ocean I got off of a review from TLTG fragrance. Whatever, hate on him and hate on me. That said, it was my first Paris Corner release. I have found most Paris Corner releases to be tacky and cheap but not at cheap pricing compared to alternatives. For instance, the Mancera clones I would only suggest that getting the Mancera. Kismet Angel is a cheaper alternative to Fire Your Desire. A Chaos in the Ocean however doesn't really have a similar clone at a lower price. Alexandria, Dua and a number of the extrait companies have them but not near the price. That said, I think I know why. I'm not sure if it is a Megamare thing but A Chaos in the Ocean is banal. If you have had a number of aquatic fragrances, you've smelt it before or at least parts of it before. A Chaos in the Ocean opens with a mix of bergamot and lemon in a Light Blue Pour Homme and most flankers way while there is a seaweed undertone to it similar to L'eau d'Issey Pour Homme and Cool Water Ocean Extreme or Acqua di Gio Abolsu Instinct. A Chaos in the Ocean is basically a bleu take on Light Blue. The mid is very much seaweed with calone and jasmine. The base I just notice a slight ambroxan. A Chaos in the Ocean does project pretty good initially but I notice it does not last all that long sadly. I get five hours with about two/three hours of decent projection. You will smell nice, but compared to L'eau d'Issey, it doesn't last. I think A Chaos in the Ocean is a common scent that you can get in other fragrances. It does combine Light Blue Pour Homme with more deeper Bleu aspects but I feel if L'Eau D'Issey had its calone and seaweed turned up, it would make this redundant. For this I rate it a 7.0 out of 10.

So I bought this perfume, because the name intrigued me and I read the notes and thought "I do need a new ocean scent" First spray, you get punched in the nose with this Calone and Ambroxan baby, with some sprinkles of seaweed. And when I mean punched, I mean an overhand right of absolute sillage. The sillage is so crazy on this, it shouldn't even be considered possible. I, being the moron I am, sprayed it 4 times, and within about 3 mins my entire HOUSE smelt of Calone, Bergamot, Seaweed and Ambroxan. Definitely gives me "chaotic ocean vibes", except it feels like someone's got my head and shoved it into the chaotic ocean, and now I'm drowning while being punched repeatedly in the nose. One hell of an experience, and I'm here for the ride. Be careful about wearing this in enclosed spaces. You will gas everyone in the room. You could probably walk into a room and scream at the top of your lungs, and you still wouldn't be as loud as this. It lasts a bloody while too, and on my skin fragrances like Eros Flame and Spicebomb Intense will vanish from my skin pretty quickly. I'd give this one a solid thumbs up while violently coughing in my cloud of Calone, as a matter of fact while I'm writing this review it's trying to invade my nostrils. Sillage: 10000000/10 (help me) Longevity: 10/10 (9 hours for me) Price: 10/10 (Roughy £40 in the UK) Scent: 7/10 (I don't mind being punched in the face, it's just not something I'd do again and again) Looks: 6/10 (Has a magnetic cap too!) - I love the shade of blue, but unfortunately someone printed the wrong notes on my bottle, and the bottle really isn't all that special. Uniqueness: 10/10 (Trust me, you'd know if someone else had this)

I was curious about megamare actually, that's why I bought this. The performance of this chaos in the ocean is scarry. Tested it on a hat and 4 days later it was there 100% nothing changed to the scent... Threw 20 sprays on a stone wall on my corridor, it's been 5 days and everytime I enter my house, it smells like this cheapie beast, even if you go noseblind, you'll still get strong whiffs of it. About the scent: smells like lemon, watermelon and seaweed.. crushed over some creamy stuff... Synthetic. A clothes shop or a hotel could smell like it but I can't imagine someone pulling this out in a beautiful manner. The bottle is ok, the atomizer is ok, the notes listed on the bottle have nothing to do with the juice. Great price for the performance, and the scent. I'll use this from time to time just because sometimes I like to get annoyed by something that performs this brutal.

I bought this around 2 years ago, and I still don't know what to make of it. As far as freshies, it's unique but I'm not sure if it's a like or not. It's salt water heavy, very marine like, but also quite synthetic. Sometimes I'm in a mood to wear it (usually once or twice a hot season year), just to remind myself the uniqueness of it but also to remind myself why I don't wear it more often. I don't want to give it a 3 out of 5 but I don't want to give it a 4 out of five either. For me it's around a 3.5 for uniqueness and price. Sample first as this is a polarizing scent, but not as great or not as terrible as some make it out to be. EDIT: I wore it the other day again after a long lay off and I really enjoyed the experience. The strength on this cologne is potent so don't overspray as it projects and lasts.

Bought this after hearing how different of an aquatic it is. It certainly is different. Airy, Green, Musky, Sharp, Salty as well. I haven’t smelled the original fragrance this is cloning, but I will say I enjoy this as an individual fragrance. This stuff isn’t weak. You will go nose blind to this. Test this while you’re wearing another fragrance and notice how long it lasts and projects. Loaded with synthetics? Yes. Weak? No. You won’t be able to smell this but others will. But over time your nose will be able to pick this out easily. Also macerating helps as well!

this ones nice. performance and uniqueness of this is crazy good for a freshie. i can see how the saltiness of this can be headache inducing or unpleasant to others. i enjoy it though. its oddly cozy, kinda reminds me of the fish tank i got in my room at home. definitely gonna pick up a full bottle because of its cheap price but also thankful i got a decant first because i dont think this is for everyone.

Buy it,spend some eight to ten sprays,then put it in the drawer for six months,shake sometimes.After that this parfume become much more smoother and wereable.In fact,great summer banger.9/10.I am so surprised,because when i bought it,it was syntethic mess.Now is a great parfume.

I like it. Very oceanic and the seaweed is clear note here. Summer ready and pretty strong summer scent as well for day wear. I have no experience in Orto Parisi Megamare so I can not say how close it gets.

This fragrance leans more sweet than fresh, at least to my nose. It actually reminds me more of Versace Eros than Orto Parisi Megamare.

Loud and synthetic. Definitely suitable for younger men , but I like it. And got me the first ever compliment.... from a man. First time wearing , two minutes after I entered the office , a young colleague in his 20's came to ask me what I'm wearing and to send him link or photo. I consider that a compliment. My fav summer scents Platinum Egoiste and Colonia Essenza never got me one. Just saying. High quality doesn't mean crowd pleaser and vice versa - cheap clones can be pleasant. However , you get tired of cheapies pretty quick , but you never get tired of high quality. Save money and buy Megamare. Strange , but I can smell leather. Chaos In The Ocean reminds me of Lattafa Velved Oud for some reason. Like a summer version of it. I must be trippin....

I bought this fragrance believing it was a 100% megamare clone, with its smell it is 70% same. People on here are saying that it is atomic but i only get like 6h longevity and i dont feel like it projects and leaves a trail behind me. Just to say i am macerating it right now for around 20 days already and im gonna do it for around 40 days. The thing is i sprayed this like 10-15 times and i still dont have a feeling it projects. I have a bottle of this. To me it is nothing more than Nautica Voyage on steroids and I don't like that DNA. And yes, it smels a little bit like new electronics or burning plastic mixed with fruity notes.

This one seems to be Megamare wannabe, but too strong on calone and too weak on ambermax so it ends up smelling like something halfway between Orto Parisi Megabomb and Lattafa Wajood. Nice try though.

Since I'm new to the fragrance industry, this was the first aquatic scent I ever purchased. This will undoubtedly become my go-to scent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE : 06/13/2024 Okay, so a few weeks ago there was a deal on different 5ml decants of various perfumes, and I bought them to try different perfumes, this being one of them. I knew what it would smell like because I had owned this before, but to my surprise, the decant smelled terrible. Those who said it smelled like bug spray weren't wrong. Be careful—I'm not sure if this is a bad batch or if it needs maceration. UPDATE : 07/10/2024 I've finally purchased a complete bottle (BATCH 05/24), it doesn't smell the same as the decant I purchased first. I'm going to let it macerate and return to it later.

Unfortunately, the new batches are terrible and don't smell as good as they used to. I bought two samples from different sellers, and they both smell the same.

This was awful. The longevity and cloud are insane but the scent was extremely bitter, plastic-y, medicinal and synthetic. Right from the beginning, you get hit with a chemical aroma plus salt to the nose that will force you out of the room. Once it dries, there's a strange fruitiness. I was excited about this after reading reviews, but once this was delivered, I listed it for sale the same day.

Some people got lucky with the first batch of this fragrance. I presume that I received a new batch of this utterly cheap synthetic mess with an hour (max) of longevity and 0 sillage. Straight into the bin with no regrets. Megamare?????? That was a bad joke.

It's very bad, it smells awful, like fish

The sea and the smell of it, is something that i believe i know very well. This one gives you the sea feeling, however the feeling I get is similar to a cloudy place by the sea, there are oily elements that smell good actually, Ι don't get any citruses, there's also a light aura of seaweed but not like in BVLGARI AQUA were you can actually smell the Poseidonia. I am not getting any woody elements however it leaves a scent that you can find in many Arabic fragrances (maybe ambroxan). I would not call this an easy to wear summer fragrance, people tend to relate summer fragrances to citruses or coconut style fragrances, this is marine, but with some not so crowd pleasing elements. I will wear it for a couple of weeks and see if it works on me.

Im incredibly confused with this perfume - it states indeed an amazing and unique blend of notes, with enormous sillage and even greater longevity. Smells very niche, boutique thus expensive. In terms of quality and price this one is a shameless bargain. But apart of pros mentioned above, it is so ridiculously intense, that even one sprinkle provides way too strong nosal impressions - overdosed itself, drilling right to the brain, just venomous. This poison is sth that might be wearable for strong, hairy, sexy sailor. Im fighting with nausea while wearing on my neck. Well, next time I will use 1/2 sprinkle, closer to my butt.

This uncanny smell is indeed a Chaos. It smells like a stack of old newspaper that has been kept for donkey's years in an unventilated room. Each time I wear this, I keep making jest of myself "why on earth would someone wanna smell like this?". Definitely the nose behind this fragrance is trying to pass a message with this scent to the kind of people that understand him. The annoying part of it is that it has an insane longevity, you either stay with the smell till it dissipates or you don't wear it at all.

dear good feelers, I've used 'Puremale' from this house, and the performance and scent profile is good with sound longevity. But I haven't used 'Chaos in the ocean'. Just purchased this hoping for an ultra strong female aquatic. This juice is too masculine for me, the strong cedar? note makes it too masculine. It is one of the strongest scents I’ve EVER purchased and I have a vast collection. So strong I scrubbed it off and could still smell it! Longevity 10 but not unisex
