A Walk on Dirt - Valar Series

Gave this its first full wear on skin yesterday after getting it a few months back and letting it sit. The first week it smelt like a dupe of Oud for Glory, thankfully as the weeks have gone by, its not like that at all. As other reviewers have said, this needs time to be blended and wearable. Its pretty savage the first few months, let it sit 12 weeks minimum. Opening is VERY green and earthy herbal balsamic, almost sage and lavender....seductive and inviting, a little sharp but not excessively so, leads gently into a fascinating and dark broody heart of balsam/incense .... Mid dries down to a scent highly reminiscent of Encre Noir, sour earth, but not quite all vetiver just yet..... Base dries to a wholesome mother nature smell a little like petrichor, wet clay and dusty dry arid scrubland, gorgeous. As you would expect, there's loads of vetiver and it sits nice on me. Its highly masculine, rewarding, satisfying and never too strong or feeble. This fragrance is a winner for me. I love the scent of Encre Noir but i find its just weak. This fragrance is similar but definitely performs better, has more dry earthiness and more of interest going on, with a touch of sweetness. Its also a simple quite linear scent but its really agreeable and blended softly, giving a realistic mother earth scent i love. Its the best in this subgenre i've yet come across. Its Vetiver for ladies and gentlemen, vetiver done smoothly and gently and with a hint of cypress, musk, caramel and jasmine. i don't get much amber from this at all despite being listed in the notes. It needs some pine or green notes badly, but instead they used jasmine which is a shame. I highly recommend this if you're a fan of Encre Noir, If Encre Noir is a damp mossy earthy forest, A Walk On Dirt is a dry musky earthy desert scrubland oasis. Projection average, longevity excellent, lasted me all day and well into the evening in coldish temperature around 15c This is just the perfect autumn scent fantastic for layering a big thick fat basenote under almost anything too. On its own, its just EARTH, as promised 8/10 for me

Very earthy and smoky. It has a dirty, muddy smoky vibe, like you rolled in cigarette ashes and mud. Or like you went camping in a muddy forest and slept near the campfire and got dirty with soil and ashes. Totally the opposite of a clean, fresh fragrance 😂. It does however smell very earthy and soily in a natural realistic way that I find very beautiful. It’s definitely interesting unique and unusual, and I actually like it, but the dirtiness might put some people off... or make them seriously question your hygiene. We could say that this fragrance is the evil brother of ysl y:polarising realistic dirtiness VS crowdpleasing synthetic freshness. I definitely choose the first 😀 8.5/10

For the ultra low price and the great performance alone this is a hidden gem 💎 Emir A Walk On Dirt is earthy, smoky and very alluring. The amber in it radiates warmth ♨️ and makes it perfect for cooler weather 🍁🍂 where it'll definitely warm up your soul. It even has leathery nuances (hence it is wrapped up in leather) and it reminds me of its big brother Emir Smoky Leather. I have both Cuoium and Emir Smoky Leather and the latter performs ten times better than Cuoium, which is why I decided to try this Emir (means Prince in Arabic 👑) and was again pleasantly surprised by it. A Walk on Dirt is one of the best fragrances from Paris Corner. Although it's listed as unisex, to me it’s clearly a men’s scent—and a spectacular one at that. It’s brutally strong with mind-blowing projection, a real compliment magnet, but it’s definitely not for beginners or guys under 30. This is an ultra-masculine, niche-quality perfume. P.S. Go easy on the sprays...

A very good clone of the OG. Terroni is smoother, sensual and more unisex-male leaning while Walk on Dirt smells very similar but manlier and less polite. It passes the opening of Terroni that has a rapsberry note and goes straight in to the mid of the OG. Also seems to be a bit stronger than the OG.

It smells like a combination of a freshly charred wood and smoke from the (almost extinguished) bonfire mixed with a deep black soil in the woods. Vetiver gives it earthiness, Cedarwood woody base, Cypress adds slightly sour, green, woody "freshness" to the Cedar, Labdanum adds dry smokiness while Amber and Caramel sweeten it up a little bit creating an impression of the residual warmth coming up from the embers. It smells surprisingly "realistic" in the opening, although it doesn't come across as "dirty". In the drydown those green and fresh notes go away, leaving you with an earthy vetiver, deep woodiness and ambery, sweet smoke (not very sweet, just enough to make it balanced). Once it goes into drydown it smells clean enough to give you some weighty elegance that could even work with a suit, although it's definitely not something that you could take into the office. It's more for a special occasion, in the evening, during the fall and after spending some time outside. Now about the maturation... It's 100% required even if your bottle, like mine, was made 2 years earlier. Not because it smells weak or something. It's powerful enough. But because of the notes being seriously unbalanced in the beginning, so much that they almost hurt your nose. I cannot describe what was going on there - all notes were correct but they were definitely way too strong, sharp, unbalanced, overpowering and nauseating. It really needs to get some air inside the bottle and spend few months meditating in the back of your shelf before you can wear it. Initially, for the first 2 months I couldn't stand it all, even though I could see a great potential in there since the very first spray. It still took 3-4 months before it finally calmed down but now it's a really great situational fragrance for colder months.

Earthy, smoky, woody, not really sweet. I have had this for about a year now, and haven't really used it because it was a bit harsh when brand new. However, now, after ageing a bit, I think it smells much nicer. I imagine this is what the male character in a Tim Burton movie would smell like - kind of gothic, if that makes sense. This would be a pleasant signature fragrance for the right kind of guy, such as someone with long black hair and a goth or metal vibe. Personally, I will never get close to emptying the bottle, but I will likely use it occasionally for specific situations. I think this is primarily a fall/night fragrance, and leaning quite masculine, but again, on the right guy, this could be a year-round signature fragrance. Moreover, I think this is age-agnostic, meaning you don't have to be very young or mature to wear it.

To me it smells like a campfire in the middle of the woods. When you finish the evening in front of your tent, so it's mostly burned out already. Very smoky, woody & earthy with added aromatics and a touch of sweetness. It evokes pleasant memories, but I'm not sure if I'd be using it often... Certainly it's a niche scent, not a people pleaser. I'll stick to my 5ml decant for now.

Good very dark fragrance for a real man. Reminds of a burning wood in the forest at a rainy day. Its very close to Hawas Viper Rasasi.

there is a nice warmth within this perfume but unfortunately it is guarded by a very strong lemon-y scent that makes me not want to wear it.

To my nose, it smells unbearably sour.
