Emir Fascination

Smells beautiful (fruity and floral with a touch of wood). Light projection, not a room-filler, and lasts all day--most of the time as a skin scent. Pretty typical for a fragrance from the Emir lineup. Perfectly suitable for all occasions and seasons. You can probably overspray and get away with it, since it's so subtle. Curious to see if maceration (if this is even a thing?) will change it any? A solid 7.5/10--would be higher if it was stronger. Will revisit in a month or so to see if it matures.

A very beautiful perfume for all year round even for summer nights but the ideal seasons are spring and autumn. Longevity is quite good but projection is relatively weak. It opens with freshness which quickly gives way to a beautiful rose and ends with patchouli and labdanum which is felt in the drydown. Perfectly unisex but maybe it suits men a little more Overall it's a really good fragrance at a very low price point. I bought it for 18€ which is a great deal for what you get.

Wow. Unfortunately I haven't smelled Richwood yet. But it's a banger :))) Strong, fruity, woody and long. After the drydown comes the rich woody vanilla and patchouli. I enjoy it from start to finish. Unisex fragrance - the opening seems basically masculine, but the drydown is more feminine. For autumn, spring and summer nights. I got it under 26$ - for this price it's high quality juice. The bottle and the atomizer are cheapish :((

Am I the only one that thinks this has similarity to A*men? Not a clone or anything but definitely in the same family. This opens up rose heavy, so if you aren't into rose you probably wont like this, however once the mid and dry down come along the patchouli makes it presence known. It's a chocolate patchouli that meshes well with the rose note, in a way a play on Oud and rose but with patchouli in place of Oud. In the far dry down the patchouli becomes a little more earthy. I've never smelled richwood so I can't compare, but this gives me Amen vibes all the way with a SUPER dose of rose. For this price point I'd say it's worth a pickup. Sticks a little close to the skin but you do have a noticeable scent bubble. I still prefer celestial because that's more my type of scent DNA, but this is a solid fragrance especially if you like chocolate with a touch of rose. As for gender, I would say unisex down the middle, with the opening with a slight fem lean due to the prominence of rose and dry down masc leaning due to the emergence of the earthy/chocolate patchouli. On a test strip this thing blasts the whole room to the point it becomes unbearable, with the rose being the strongest note. But on skin the longevity is lackluster as it seems to be 3-5 hours, with last hour or so being a faint skin scent but as with many ME clones this might need time to mature. On skin the main note seems to be patchouli. Never had a fragrance with that much of a difference from strip to skin before.

It is indeed quite fascinating - very fancy. Soft but prominent wood and patchouli, very dry damascus rose that almost smells like raisins when combines with the blackcurrant :P I can understand the grandma association due to that raisine-ness. A little fresh. Overall: a woody-grey perfume. Well fitt to cold, rainy autumn weather. Very soft and calm. Not what young people usually wear - no fruitiness, some cold-ish, fresh flowers, not sweet. Smells expensive. I kinda understand why the "warm spicy" description is present, but the cinnamon in this is not detectable as cinnamon - almost rather like amber, in combination with the other ingredients. If you like this, you should also try Grey Ash from Maison Alhambra.

I think I remember someone here saying "granny smell" and I do get it honestly. When I blind bought this I thought it would smell like A LOT of wood. But imo it's very patchouli-dominated and less typical woody smell. It does have some freshness to it, especially in the start. Old fashioned is the feeling it get from it. When my brother smelt it on me he said he likes it but also that it does smell like our grandpa's old furniture. It's an odd one for sure and I don't think young people can get away with this one. Would I recommend it? meeeh not really. It's unique but lacks versatility. Very cheap though!

I smell neither sandalwood nor chocolate, to the point where I had to double check I was looking at the right perfume notes. On me this smells like lavender, patchouli and roses, like an old scented notebook that I used to own as a kid. First floral scent I actually enjoy smelling on my skin. Smells clean, calming and powdery on the drydown, opening is sharp but still pretty. Lasts all day and isn't offensive.

I get really fresh herbal and flower scents from this cologne. I was expecting something more elegant it is nice but it smells too soapy to me. That soapy smell makes it more feminine to me. It is also musky which is good. It doesn’t have much projection either. As a man I would recommend to pass on this unless you like smelling like soap. Edit: it has grown on me. This cologne shines on the dry down. Especially after being worn all day. Once it dries you smell the mandarin and grapefruit. It remains musky and powedery. Just wish it had more wood.

Right from the start, I get prominent woods and patchouli (almost like warm chocolate), paired with a very dry Damascus rose sitting on a sandalwood base. Also, where I come from, rose x patchouli x sandalwood x musk is a very common attar profile, so to my nose this came across a bit basic. Like someone else mentioned earlier ---> “very soft and calm, not what young people usually wear.” For all practical purposes, this is a patchouli-centric scent that slowly gets a touch mintier/ sweeter as it dries down -- maybe the fruits or vanilla ??. Performance was fairly mediocre for me: around 4–5 hours of longevity with mild projection...Maybe overspraying can help, definitely a winter only scent. Verdict: Definitely try a decant before buying. Even at the low price, this won’t be for everyone.

Synthetic warm chocolate patch, vanilla and rose. Not quite enough Chocolate for me but I actually only bought this to get a rough idea of what coromandel and richwood smell like. It’s not terrible but I want to let it settle for a month and come back to it. Edit: I tested it alongside richwood and it’s somewhat close not 100% I’d say 70% close and the first 20 minutes are incredibly harsh but the drydown 1-2hours later is lovely especially for a cheap knockoff., I felt like the warmth & chemistry of my skin did something to the overall drydown of the scent. It dries down expensive smelling smooth and warm.

Feminine! No idea what it's trying to be, but all I got was turkish delight jam, florals and woody biscuit filling vanilla. Not unpleasant but far from unisex.
