Because I have become like the cartoon characters of old. I have become koo koo for realistic fruity notes in cologne Sweet citrus drips like honeyed sunlight, peel and pulp dancing in the air, then soft vanilla settles — warm, Ambery, Musky like faint funnel cake cooling on a citrus fairground whispering through the lemon peel breeze. It’s loud, magnetic, alive. More Roman piazza than desert market a touch of amber, a whisper of cream, In a large sunny smile bottled for $28. If sunshine had swagger, if joy had a pulse, it would smell like this — the cheapie that feels like freedom. Linear orange candy ? Nahh that could never generate a story like this 😂 Neither can the haters. Your turn

This is an absolute gem, especially if you love bright, citrusy fragrances. It definitely has a resemblance to Afternoon Swim, but to me, it leans more into the mandarin note. I will describe the overall scent as candied orange, being citrusy with a bit of sweetness without going overboard. It's fresh, uplifting, and just flat-out stunning. I like it even more than the Afternoon Swim sample i have! In my opinion, North Stag is about 80% similar to Afternoon Swim but leans more toward sweet mandarin or candied orange. While Afternoon Swim has a lighter, more airy and aquatic orange vibe. This is my review right after unboxing it and spraying a couple of times, so I'm really happy with my purchase. Furthermore, I agree 100% with the comment below me.

North Stag IV is an absolute delight to the nostrils, from the first spray you have an explosion of juicy sweet orange smell, dries down to a sweet orange, musky and slightly salty/spicy scent. I would call it a twist on LV Afternoon Swim. It has that musky, orange smell but the saltiness/ambergris/swimming pool note is toned down a lot compared to Afternoon Swim. Quality is outstanding, no harsh smell in the opening, it even smells very natural from the first spray. I prefer North Stag IV over Afternoon Swim, the heavy salty marine accord makes me nauseous in LV Afternoon Swim. If you want LVAfternoon swim with more orange and less saltiness/ambergris, get North Stag IV. The perfect warm weather scent and 100% unisex.

My Clinique Happy Men is running out and I needed something to scratch my orange itch. I can't afford LV, and I don't want a clone fragrance that also clones the bottle. That's why I got this. I never smelled Afternoon Swim but this thing is amazing from opening to drydown! One spray filled my room for a minute. It's not orange rind, more like orange candy drops or orange juice due to the sweetness. Dries down to something like fresh laundry washed with citrus detergent. Totally unisex. Great for post-shower, gym, slacking around the house, or running errands on a summer day. Lasts for 5 hours but I imagine if this lasted any longer it wouldn't be as zesty as it is.

I don't view this as an Afternoon Swim dupe personally, but I will say this sort of makes me think this is what Afternoon Swim would smell like if it was turned into a lifesaver, at least in the dry down. There's a slight sweetness to it in said dry down... not in an overtly artificial way, but I can get why people may think otherwise. This is more of a fresh orange peel, slightly fizzy mandarin soda scent, though the sweetness is toned down. Lasts longer than AS on me, which kind of shocks me. One of my new favorites for the spring/summer, love it for what it is. PS: bonus points for the incredible packaging. Felt very premium opening the box!
