Oud Royal

I ordered this fragrance a week ago, but once it came in the mail, I was eager to open it up and have a sniff. As I was opening the box, I noticed I could smell the fragrance from inside the box and it smelled pungent, but as I was finally able to hold the fragrance in my hand, I took the cap off and took a sniff. It KICKED me in the face, the first impressions was just immense, it was very pungent, with a scent of musk and powder, it was kind of unbearable to smell but It was still addicting... I sprayed some on my wrist to see how it would do on dry down, however the atomizer is very nice and sprays a fair amount considering how strong it is. An hour later that powdery smell was still there, and the musk was still there, but still growing. Hours later the powdery scent went away, leaving this smoother sweet musky citrus smell which actually made me feel better. It wasn’t as strong and overbearing, but just smooth and sweet. The smell is definitely masculine. A week later, while I kept it in my drawer to stay dark and cool, I noticed the smell has became less overwhelming, and now it smells a bit more light and powdery with that hint of musk. This was the smell to die for, Its very addicting. And the more I kept wearing it, I noticed on the dry downs it becomes less stronger throughout the day, but it smells incredibly smooth and earthy, sweet and spicy. I can’t even explain it. But It does last the whole day but somewhat well on clothes, as it will last much longer on skin, but it won’t be as strong to smell. This was a blind buy so the first impressions were kind of doubtful and interesting but after giving it a couple uses, it does get a bit light and smoother, but it was definitely worth it.. I personally use this fragrance for school, its not too heavy, not too strong, its masculine and smooth, its not too spicy or too thick. It gets sweet, citrusy with a bit of spice, and has that musky and woody tone throughout the day. Overall I give this an 8/10, It’s an interesting fragrance. and I’m looking forward to using this everyday, everywhere.

I’ve tried many new fragrances as of late and this was about the only one that was LOVE at first sniff !!! This scent opens up kind of bright green, and with an ivy type of smell that I’m guessing is the Angelica accompanied by the red berries adding a slight fruity touch of sweetness. Once this dries down the greenish vibe stays but is pushed to the background and I get a nice woody touch of cedar and sandalwood. However sandalwood and that green touch are what dominates the scent ! The drydown is pretty much the same except the scent becomes more rich,smooth and with the very small amount of oud you get a slight bitterness but honestly if I didn’t know oud was in this I wouldn’t detect it at !! I was very surprised at this scent as it really goes well with my skin chemistry and I get a barbershop scent that is sandalwood dominant with a slight tea vibe! I This has a lot of notes that mesh well with my skin chemistry so I’m not surprised I love this smell !! In comparison to Creed Royal Oud. .. Royal Oud on my skin was great as well but gave me a more mature vibe that smelled great but sometimes reminded me of a bookstore whereas Oud Royal smells more attractive to me and wearable as a 37 year old. I also detect more Oud In Royal Oud as well as more cedar. I think Royal Sandalwood would have been a better name for the Oud Royal. Performance was decent as it lasts me 5-8 hours but with only light to mild projection. This is where Royal Oud was better as it lasted me 10-12 hours with better projection. Overall rating -8.5 out of 10 ! One of my new favorite barbershop scents that smells similar to Royal Oud but i actually prefer this twist over the much more expensive counterpart it’s trying to dupe.

#752 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I'm not a big fan of Creed Royal Oud in the first place, so I wasn't looking for a clone and this isn't one. I'm not sure why they went 90% of the way to duping Creed Royal Oud then went with red berries instead of red pepper unless they just misread the notes list for Creed Royal Oud. I think Lomani Intense Black is a better choice than this for something like the Creed, but it is just an EDT. This is my sixth and final bottle of Ministry of Oud and I am content to have them all. They're solid scents at a bargain price, but like any oud scent, not that versatile. Judged on its own merits, instead of on how close it recreates Creed Royal Oud, this is a nicely balanced Indian Oud scent that's a better performer than you have a right to expect from scents this cheap. But much as I enjoy oud scents and have dozens on the shelves, I struggle to find appropriate venues for wearing them. This is probably not something I'd ever wear in a car pool. I wouldn't wear an oud scent stronger than EDT potency in a closed environment anyway. Nothing stronger than Jacques Bogart One Man Show Oud Edition. Even if you end up throwing these Ministry of Oud scents away you're out the cost of a cheap lunch. And I think if you like oud you'll like them all. For me this scent would be okay casual wear for outdoor dining, concerts etc. Might even be a scent I'd wear to a formal event where you're mingling in a large space. But not something I'd wear around the office or on a date. Update: Two months on the shelf made a marked improvement in this scent. Changing my vote to a "Love."

Having never tried the Creed inspiration to this, I thought this might be the way to experience it without blowing up my credit card. Both the original and this copy get rave reviews, so at this price it is a no brainer. And it is well worth its meager price. What a luxurious, elegant scent. Put it on and it just elevates you. Shoulders square back. Head lifts high. The gate of your walk smooths out. I can see why the "royal" title was assigned to it. As far as how it smells, it's a very smooth blend of wood and spices. Very mild oud. Has a sweetness to it. I heard one YouTube reviewer describe the Creed original as having a bit of a root beer smell, and this does. But not in a cheap convenience store way. More like an ancient brewmeister creating a luxurious ambrosia for the gods. Aside from the notes listed, I get little hints of tobacco and spirits. Just a lovely fragrance that leans towards the formal that I feel I could wear anytime. Wore it to work and it starts strong, but I was still getting nice whiffs of it multiple hours in. The bottle is luxurious and heavy. The corners though are very sharp. Could be used as a defensive weapon in a pinch. I will likely never buy the original, perhaps a decant, but this is so enjoyable I really don't feel the need to. If Royal Oud is significantly better than this, it must be amazing.

"woah..." well this is new... but in a "classic" way. Where have I smelled you before? The smell deepens into other notes with complexity from fruit to fruit sitting on a dry cedar sawed log with more. ???...... Theres more, but its all just so good. Hell with it, I'm looking at the rest they have to offer now, I like it a lot. 1 month later its already getting better. Still reminds me of pepper and citrus sitting on a freshly sawed amber sappy log. Still smells "classic", "masculine", "timeless" 5 month update: good god... its getting better and better. 8 months update: This is great in the air, smells like I should be mature and in a suit. 10 months into warm weather even, another couple sprays 60 days after the last ... -.- im annoyed... this thing gets more oxygen in it, it just smells better and better. 1 Year, easily in my top 5. 16 months winter, IT CHANGED AGAIN! Smoother tonka in the middle now. It's weird because this started out as old smelling and evolved into a classy fragrance.

I find this scent to be quiet refreshing, almost "colonia" like. It's opens with slightly sharp citruses, then gets slightly herbal and peppery, and finally settles to a creamy sandalwood base (there's zero oud here). It's classic in some sort of way and I'd rock this any time of year. It's a light scent on my skin and I get around 4 hours of longevity with it. I don't mind over spraying since it's cheap. I treat it as an eau de cologne to be honest. It's marketed as an Extrait de "perfume", not as an Extrait de "parfum", so I'm not sure if it's the same thing. But I know this juice is light and doesn't feel or behave like, at least on my skin, any other extrait I've ever tired. Overall, it's an affordable pleasant smelling masculine scent with an average performance. Totally worth getting, imo, especially for men 30+.

The sandalwood is blended incredibly well in Ministry of Oud's Oud Royal. What an amazing clone of the revered Creed fragrance. I find this sweeter and creamier in the dry-down than Creed's Royal Oud, and for me this means I prefer the Ministry of Oud offering. It might be a dominance of the sandalwood, tonka and musk. In Royal Oud I found a medicinal pepperiness that didn't work in terms of the smoothness of the composition. Still unapologetically masculine. Performance is top notch as well - it lasts at least 12 hours on skin. If you enjoy the scent profile of Royal Oud, then this must be one for your consideration. Presentation is quality. Attractive, thick and heavy glass bottle. And do I even have to discuss price? $20 versus the $400 you will pay for the Creed. Stupendous value on every level.

So they finally have this one in the database. This came out before 2021, I think I got this early 2019 if not late 2018 direct from Paris corner website for about $30. Initially I wasn’t too impressed with it, like mentioned it was a blast of alcohol and then a scent close to creed Royal of that faded in a couple hours. Kept coming back to it here and there and just this week I wore it on a cooler fall day and it has definitely matured. No more alcohol opening, a ton more depth in the overall fragrance and I get a solid 6-7 hours of great scent bubble performance and it smells even closer to the creed. Don’t be quick to write this one off. Especially for the price.

I am not sure which note/s, but something in it reminds me of a perfume that my mom wears to the more formal parties/gatherings. It has that kind of presence and vibe but fresh/citrusy/woodsy enough to makr it a musculine-leaning scent Don't get me wrong, this is something that I like wearing. This is a more dressy parties kind of scent (but not the more serious gatherings- more subtle/neutral scents will fit better), but I sometimes wear it on casual evenings just because I like it. By the way, this is one of the scents that I just have to buy a spare.

Nice quality for a decent price, got this to have an idea of what Royal Oud Creed smells like and I was not disappointed. Does not last long so I always over spray. The opening is like a wild ride then it dries down to this mature, classic scent which I really enjoy. I will definitely get the Royal oud creed or go with the Highness III Afnan...heard this last longer 🤔 Update I let this seat for awhile and now I get better performance. Spray in the morning and still get scent bubbles when I get home after work✨️

Of course smells a lot like Creeds famous royal oud tho it lacks the opulence and the 3D depth to the notes and the airiness and blending that Creed manages.. But for the price point and closeness to the original.. Its a very decent buy. Montale also makes one called Mr. Aoud which is 1:1 dupe of royal oud but it's not listed on this database and is only available in the middle east. Overall rating.. Smell - 8/10 Projection - 6/10 Longevity - 6/10 Sillage - 5/10 Price - 10/10

This is honestly one of the best oud fragrances I've ever smelt! The red berries, and creamy sandalwood are the stars of the show for me as the oud is very subtle. The only reason this is not a 10/10 is because the longevity is just not there even after maceration. Nevertheless, this is back up bottle worthy and I plan to get another once I am halfway done with this bottle. 9/10

This is a real oud fragrance for people who love oud! The citrus and berries at the beginning are bright and fresh, but then the woody, spicy heart with the beautiful Indian Oud takes over. It lasts forever and leaves this incredible warm, musky trail.

Similar to Royal Oud by Creed? Yes, for sure. Oud Royal is not as full bodied as RO. This lasts about 4 hours on my skin compared to 6 hours for the Creed. This is nice quality at a fair price. IMHO this is a nice alternative to the original. Enjoy!

The scent is so elegant, it definitely is Royal Oud but creamier. Beautiful scent. Update: I ended up getting Royalty from Alexandria Fragrances, a stronger version lasts longer and all around nicer scent. Sold Oud Royal.

Oud Royal is HD, Royal Oud is 4K. As general experience, and on air, they are very similar, but Royal Oud is deeper and more refined. For the price and for what it offers, Oud Royal is a great option. I mean, 20 € ..

this is the best goddamn fragrance i have smelled in my life, if i could i would bathe in this scent. BUT: it only lasts for like 45 minutes on skin, maybe projecting for 20 minutes at most, afterwards it's gone...

Without a doubt, spot-on dupe od Royal Oud. Perhabs just a tad bit sweeter, but 99% the same. Performance is decent, no worse than the original (which is not great). No need for Royal Oud when you got this

I am a man of few words: Oud Royal Ministry of Oud smells like 150.000 Royal Oud Creed smells like 250.000 Chose your destiny.

The difference is tonka bean. Makes this frag smell sweeter than creed royal oud. Spray more and you will get more longevity.

Light version Creed’s Royal Oud with real name "Royal Cedar".

This fragrance has a beautiful opening and you are immediately, without question, pulled back to Creed's Royal Oud. This may sound weird, but if you have ever used the photo editor on your computer to make a photo more transparent, that's what Oud Royal is. There is a little meter that can be moved to the left for "more transparent" and to the right for less transparency. Ministry's Oud Royal is kind of like Creed's Royal Oud with the dial turned left quite a bit on the transparency. You'll also notice different woods being used, and some resins in Creed, which you won't find here. That I think, contributes to the "transparency" of Ministry's version. How do they smell, a nice brisk citrus and a fresh pop of linalyl acetate, in Creed it's similar but with a substantial "oud" wood note, boisiris, and an unmistakable greeness that only teeters ever so slightly towards earthy without ever turning into something like Bleu Noir Narciso and Roderiguez. Ministry Oud Royal does still open and maintain that greeness from the galbanum, but it is so light after a short time, that you could wear it in an elevator and I'm not sure anyone would notice. Even on clothes it sticks super close where you would have to bury your nose into the shirt. I'm wearing it in an airconditioned room and at 30 minutes it's still fading pretty quickly whereas Creed is definitely still there, although not projecting loudly. Neither are monster projectors though and without climate control, it seems like even the Creed Royal Oud's perfirmance is less than expected. I'd really like to see Ministry put out an updated version. I feel that Ministry of Oud is definitely on the right track, they just need to tweek the formula a bit. Add more resins, more wood, give it more substantiability. Still, I'll give it a 4/5 for such a good attempt.

This one is really close to creed Royal Oud. I'm not good with percentages but to my nose is just maybe slightly sweeter but nothing that change the scent profile. The performance on my skin (3h longevity and 1h with moderate sillage) is not as good as the OG but the truth is that recent batches of the OG also have average longevity and sillage on my skin ( 6h longevity and 2hour with moderate sillage). I will leave my bottle in a dark place for 3 months and see what happen. I have also a Paris Corner bottle that didn't perform well in the begging but improved after a few months not using it. I hope that will helps but if not, nothing that overspray, spray on clothes and a travel atomizer won't help. If you look for performance this or even the OG aren't for you but if you love the Creed Royal Oud scent as i do and want an afortable alternative give this one a try.

This does have that sweet bubblegum note that Lomani Intense Black has that I do not detect in Royal Oud but it also has the musk in Royal Oud that the Lomani doesn't have so I would say it falls somewhere in the middle. I also tried Houbigant Bois Mystique as an RO alternative, and it is very nice but it is also much heavier. The Houbigant is by far the best quality out of the three but this one is the closest to RO, a cheap plasticy bubblegum version of it, but still the closest dupe.

recently purchased oud royal by ministry of oud. it smells like soda, like coca cola not sure if this is how its supposed to smell i haven't smelled royal oud by creed so i cant compare update: more than a month since 1st spray. this fragrance changed for the better, more cedar and sandalwood now. I'll give this more time to macerate, i believe this will get better.

This has a lot of lemon upon first spray. I really don't think the lemon is necessary in this - it's just weird. Then it dries down to a Creed Royal Oud (sandalwood) smell, but with added cedar. I could honestly do without the cedar, as it makes this not a 1-to-1 dupe, but very close. If you like Royal Oud, I'd still recommend checking this one out.

nice i blind bought this since i dont have any oud fragrance yet. to me, the oud here is very subtle, more on the creamy sandalwood with a little bit of citrus. I think it more for beginner who are getting into oud realm.. since i really despise strong oud like in ombre nomade

Classy and elegant smell, not exactly like Royal Oud because this is sweeter and less refined, but it gets the job done for what it costs. Performances wise, this is the worst out of all the Ministry Of Oud Collection unfortunately.

this is about 80 or 85% close to royal oud. it last justs as long projects a bit less for the first 3 hours. greener in the opening. as someone that loves royal oud this is just a must have

After an initial blast of pure alcohol it settles down to a close but extremely weak approximation of Creed’s Royal Oud. Within 2 hours the scent has completely disappeared. Comparing them side by side when I sniff Creed RO first I can no longer smell Oud Royal so it’s about half the strength, certainly less dense and much less peppery, the pepper in Creed RO actually tickles my nose. For what it’s worth though my partner prefers this Oud Royal on her skin over the Creed, so it probably does lean more feminine, and for £35 a bottle it’s probably an absolute bargain

Got it for sgd20+ and it's not worth it. Terrible horrible performance..such a weak performance. It opens so nicely on the blend of 2 critrus but dies down so fast to a skin scent and I have to sniff hard to get a scent outta it. But it's presentation and bottle and quality of note,qc all top notch. The juice inside doesn't compare with the good presentation and bottle quality. Too bad... and yes I have royal oud to compare it and royal oud is much stronger, this is the other way round now, a bad dupe and a good og. Stay with the og.

On my journey to find a good substitute for Creeds Royal Oud, I came across this one. It's close yes, does not develop the same way Royal Oud does, after it settles you have a very linear progression until it's completely gone within 1-2h. What a bummer, this could have been a decent alternative if only the longevity was better. I've found that overspraying won't help much, you have to re apply frequently. Since I won't pay creed money, I think I'll just let that one go.

This lacks the pepper of Creed Royal Oud comparing side-by-side on my skin. After dry down when that pepper goes away they are much closer to each other. A good lighter fresh woody scent. If I bought a full bottle of the Creed (even at discount price) I would have been disappointed. For the price of the Ministry of Oud (especially in their 5-pack set) it is nothing I can complain about.

Basically smells exactly like Lomani Intense Black (which I used to own but gave away), but with way more lasting power and a bit more complexity with the spicy richness and slight sweetness (not too much but pleasant enough). I don't get the Creed Royal Oud comparison. Oud Royal is a peppery oriented vibe as a scent while the Creed's would be an opulent woody scent. I would prefer Oud Royal more than the Lomani Intense Black. The bottle design here on the Oud Royal is both solid and elegant.

The fragrance is very soapy. I wont say i hate it but i am not blown away by it. The performance is poor, i mean really poor. The bottle looks great and classy and creates this great expectation. Overall, i would not recommend this one. Even that the low price point.

Amazing scent onto itself. Get's a 'hate' vote-down from me on account of the rash it causes on skin. I've read reviews on other sites, including youtube reviews, and they all point this out. I took a chance as I have never had a reaction or allergy to anything in life--not scents, not any food, not the outdoors, not a chemical, not any product. Within seconds of applying this...a rash. For the first time in my life, something... a rash. As far as the comparison Creed Royal Oud, yes. 70-80% similar. And it’s the prominent notes, the heart of the DNA that this one clones very well. But if I can’t actually wear it, this may as well be 0% similar

This is an excellent dupe of Creed Royal Oud... It's of course not as refined and the very top notes don't match EXACTLY, but for the price point this is sold at, there should be no complaints. Upon initial application, the projection is pretty strong... This dies significantly within about fifteen minutes... But as is the same with the original, this is meant to be an understated, elegant fragrance that sits close to the skin. It would make anyone who likes "dry" and *soft" scents a great Spring or Summer perfume. It's certainly not brash, abrasive, or loud and would also make a great scent for wearing at work. I'm not sure how it will stick on during the really opressive summer heat and humidity in Florida, but we'll see and I'll return here to update my review. So far, all in all, this one has been very satisfying and I personally think that the performance is acceptable... Especially because it's about a quarter the price of the Creed fragrance and delivers most of it's beautiful notes. Cheers

Of all the Creed clones I've ever tried (for any Creed) this one, to my nose, may be closest to the original. I absolutely LOVE Creed Royal Oud. If I had to pick just a few frags for life it would be on that list with no hesitation. Royal Oud is a stunning recreation. Almost perfect. Immediately after spraying I get straight out the Creed DNA. Then, a slight disappointment sets in unfortunately as the scent settles down very very quickly to a skin scent. I go heavy on the sprays with this one, at least 10-15 sprays. And even then sometimes I have a hard time smelling myself after a few minutes. Gosh I wished it had some more power. Creed is way underpowered for its unbelievable magnificence and class. This one is even closer to skin, at least for me. Still. Gentlemen, do yourselves a favor and get this. What a stunning scent.

This one is about 90% of the Creed fragrance. It's projection, sillage and longevity are similar, but the sillage and longevity are a tad bit weaker than the original. However... This is still an excellent Spring and Summer fragrance! This is one of those fragrances that back in the Eighties, we would have said "smells like money". Very classy and understated. Very "soft" and "dry". Perfect for everyday wear. Not in the least bit offensive and would maybe an excellent scent to wear for work. Personally, I get around an hour of really great projection off skin and clothing with this one, but after it's dried down completely in about that time, it becomes a very "close" skin scent that maybe project about an arm's length, but very quietly. And for the price, I'd have to say that the quality outdoes the money spent. Cheers

Right after dry down, I'm picking up on woody, spicy, dragons blood incense notes. It's a fragrance that sits close to the skin, almost muted, in a good way. Understated and elegant. Perfect for work or formal occasions, where you don't want a scent that hits harder than Will Smith smacking Chris Rock at some award show. All the notes in Oud Royal are perfectly proportioned. The only shortcoming is that it doesn't last too long on the skin; loses it's projection faster than Jada Pinkett Smith losing her hair after one chemo session.

This one is okay. The performance is not good on my epidermal tissue. It starts off with a resemblance to Royal Oud in a peppery way. It does its own thing with the sweetness of the Tonka Bean. I wasn't going to keep it at first. Now it's okay. It faintly reminds me of Gucci Pour Homme II in the dry down.

It’s ok, it’s not worth all the hype , just another masculine woody musky smell. An average scent. I was expecting the bright fresh woody scent every one says it is. Could be due to the hot weather in Houston, Tx I only buy fresh or aquatic scents.

I got on here to write a review then read eawatts23 review below. Exactly how I feel about it. If they would thicken it up a little and make some tweaks to improve performance it would be an all time too 5 cheaply/clone. Smells amazing.

While I find this a bit different than creeds royal oud I actually like this one more. It's really nice and especially for the price point. I think I will be trying some of the other from the ministry of oud line for sure.

I brought this one with lots of expectations with heavy shipping cost, but after applying I get very synthetic smell with skin itching and discomforting inhaling issues. So I sold with low price tag immediately.

Very good clone of Royal Oud, it's a no brainer for around $25. Maybe a bit sweeter, but overall very very similar. Unfortunately the performance is kinda weak, same as with Royal Oud.

This smell absolutely blew me away. One of the greatest smelling fragrances I've ever smelt in my entire life. Unfortunately, it doesn't last at all.

Beautiful fragrance that dries to a skin scent within the hour. If you want subtle, it's perfect. Otherwise, overspray like mad.
