Fairy Dust

I think people are just so ridiculously snobby when it comes to what name is on the outside of a perfume box. Who freakin' cares! Me personally, if it smells good, I like it. It's not like the celebrity/designer who made it personally put their DNA into every bottle and it's going to contaminate you. It's not like she sat down and mixed every bottle. A perfumer made it, she ok'd it, and she and the perfumer/perfume house share the profits of the sales. I know all of the bad reviews on this fragrance are most likely simply because it's a Paris Hilton fragrance. Slap a Chanel label on the same stuff and half of you would be crooning about how marvelous it is. That being said, I think this smells great. I am a Fruity Floral, Oriental Vanilla, and Gourmand kind of girl. I have ventured outside of those olfactory groups from time to time(I have tried straight florals and aquatics),only to be terrified and running back home to the sweeter things. This is a very pleasant, and non offensive everyday type of fragrance. I'm not really good at picking out individual notes, but to me this smells like sugared sweet roses, which is right up my alley. At work I sit at the desk in the front office that everyone has to walk into to enter the building. All day people kept walking in and exclaiming "oh wow, it smells so good in here!". I told one lady it was Paris Hilton and I saw her kind of give that look like "ew, really?", but she said "well it smells amazing!". Case in point right there. The lasting power is amazing, and the price is unbeatable. I do admit that the packaging and bottle were a little bit of a letdowm. A perfume so sweet smelling should have had a more elaborate and less cheap looking bottle. The etched fairy on the front is just tacky. But again, it's the juice you'll be wearing, not the bottle or the designer. People should have more of an open mind about fragrances. You may be missing out on something you may really enjoy because you're so preoccupied with whose name is on the label. Who cares if it's a celebrity fragrance, or a "drustore" fragrance, or "cheap" or whatever?! On my dresser, I have everything from Revlon's Fire and Ice to Creed's Love In Black. Realize that when fragrances are expensive, it is not neccesarily because you are getting a more quality product. You are just paying for packaging and advertising for a big name. Stop being a snob, cause you're missing out, people!If it smells good, wear it!

I still have no idea why everyone hates this so much! I own all of Paris Hilton's perfumes, and I dearly love her since meeting her back in 2008 showed me how sweet and human she is. I find her fragrances to be incredibly top-notch since they provide complex, unique arrangements of notes for fabulous prices. Aside from Dazzle, you could probably find a 3.4oz of any of her fragrances for less than $30. Fairy Dust is one of those fragrances I bought for the collection, but I always forget about it when I"m choosing a fragrance to wear...today was a very warm, humid, rainy day where I live, and after getting drenched in a thunder-storm, I needed to reapply to enjoy a nice, cozy evening at home. For some reason, I reached for Fairy Dust and doused myself with it since I have such a huge, unused bottle...and wow, I really don't know how I could forget about this one! Everyone screams about how generic it is, but I really don't see how this could be considered "generic" since everything out these days smells like chocolate, lollipops, and cotton candy. This isn't just a white floral...there's something a bit deeper under there that makes this truly beautiful. Don't get me wrong, gardenia is truly the queen of this fragrance, dominating it from start to finish..but the musk and the patchouli creates this beautiful, powdery sheen to the gardenia. My favorite aspect of this fragrance is how the peach really makes this sparkling and fairy-esque, by giving a slight, juicy tinge to it that strikes the nose every now and then, which is reminiscent of high-end nail-polish to me. This is a beautiful, underrated perfume, and it's a shame to see so much hate for it. You have to take it for what it's worth. Paris isn't known for producing masterpieces, so why is everyone holding her line to that standard? Appreciate this fragrance for what it is: A fresh, powdery, fizzy, sparkling gardenia perfume that lasts three to five hours with mid-length sillage.

This perfume smells identical to Juicy's Juicy Couture for Women perfume. I used to wear the juicy one a few years back but had run out and didn't feel like spending another $45 dollars on a small bottle. I wanted to try one of paris' scents and decided on fairy dust because of the advertisement commercial that I found on youtube. It was a complete blind buy and one that I am so happy with! I was so surprised when I first sprayed some out and smelled such a familiar scent. If you love the original Juicy Couture scent than you will absolutely love this one. The only noticeable difference to me is that this scent seems a little bit boozy or alcoholic initially although that part of it blends in quickly with the rest of the notes. If you don't want to spend the money on the Juicy one or want to try it before investing more money into the Juicy fragrance definitely try this one. The bottle is kind of eh to me. While I like the blue sprayer and the clear top that covers the bottle I do not really like the bottle itself. If the fairy wouldn't have been printed onto the bottle it would have been like one of the vintage bottles that women displayed on their vanities back in the day. The addition of the fairy imprint makes the bottle seem sort of weird to me though because it is not really playfully designed so it just seems out of place. The bottle is too serious for the fairy image and not playful enough for the theme of the fragrance in my opinion. It isn't a big deal though and is cute enough for me to want to display. Overall I love this perfume especially considering the price point and how unique it is considering it is a celebrity fragrance. Definitely worth a smell at the least, 5/5 for me.

Although I am surprised that more people have not given Fairy Dust thumbs up, I completely understand why some people dislike it. I have found that Fairy Dust can act as a chamelion on my skin. At times I get choked out by thestrongly everesscent opening that reacts like aldehydes on steroids, but I think is only how the bubbly Processo accord reacts.Speaking of which: What happened the Processo on the breakdown of notes?? That part clears fairly quickly, and what remains is the sweet tartness that reminds me of those sweet wine coolers that were so big back when I became of age. I didn't like being reminded constantly of being 19 again spilling wine coolers on my concert t-shirt on a booze cruize in Boston Harbour. This scent plays your senses, at once smelling strongly chemical, while other times developing very beautifully. When that happens, the flowers take front center stage. Those are the times the fragrance smells fresh and summery and comforting. This is because thankfully, I don't get that musk an patchouli listed above...can't stand either!!! I would give Fairy Dust a 3 out of 5. It is ahead of some of the big ticket department store offerings (That's you, Chloe Love Story, you chemical bomb). It's that Paris Hilton did not market it to those who understand just because it is an aldehydic floral-does not make it "old-lady"

I am most proud to say that this has been in my collection for years! It is one of my grab-n-go’s . I have been through several bottles, so I rack up on them when I see them being sold. This smells just like the Original Juicy Couture scent for women. So, if you are looking for an inexpensive DUP of that scent (Juicy Couture, Juicy Couture), then Fairy Dust is for you! Weirdly, every time I visit our local gas station to get gas, I am complimented from wearing this scent from both GUYS and GIRLS. Some look shock when I tell them what the scent is; others are getting out their phones looking it up to buy. LOL funny. This can be classified as a mature scent, however, anyone can pull it off in my opinion! I wear both men and women scents. It depends on your body’s chemistry what you will get from this magical elixir. Tuberose, Creamy Vanilla, & Clean Linen is what I get from this one, and its last a long time on me. I suggest, chunking out the notion that this is an “old lady” scent and dare to be different. All fragrance adjusts to your natural body scent. If it makes you happy, wear it! Who knows, you may discover and new favorite in this one. After all, fairies are full of magic and wonder.

I put that this reminds me of Gale Hayman Delicious Beverly Hills. It might seem totally like no at first but I just received both these perfumes today and realized they both have a similar thing about them did a comparison and I'm pretty sure what I'm smelling is the Gardenia and Patchouli because that's the only notes they have it common. but very significantly. Differences I sense is that Fairy Dust has strong musk (which I feel is a tiny bit tooo strong) and that peach note which is absolutely delightful, I wish it were stronger. I also wish the vanilla was a bit stronger too. I suppose one could layer this with a plain vanilla or peach fragrance;body spray, lotion or something..... Fairy Dust is a Brittney Spears type of perfume. I call it the "hott sexy fun party girl smell". Perhaps one step below Victoria's Secret perfumes. I am glad that the fruit in this is peach. i really like that. I just got this perfume today so I need more bonding time with this. i will update it when able. :)

I really don't understand why Fairy Dust isn't loved by more perfume fans. The formula really isn't bad, No cat pee or other kinds of pussy cat odors. Paris Hilton's name is on it is all that needs to happen to turn many noses. Fairy Dust is strictly a summertime scent. The Processo is bright and sparkles and next the peony blooms. The florals are true. They smell like the first party of the season getting underway at your beachouse on Cape Cod. The warm sunny breeze mingles the scent of sparkling punch with the flowers blooming on your back deck. All of a sudden, lotus fills the air. I dream of finally traveling to Cambodia. Last summer experimented layering it with Yves Rocher Monoi Eau des Vahines, and I created the scent of paradise.. A compliment magnet. As with any fragrance with less than long-lasting longevity, I wish a few spritzes would last all day. Sexy, giddy and youthful!

The first time I put it on my skin was three years ago when I went on vacation. I just loved it, and my mom (that barely never likes a fragrance) loved it too! The bottle doesn't matter, what's important is the content of it, it's like a book (btw I love reading) I don't judge it by its front, I judge it till I read it... Personally, I carried a Britney Spears perfume in my suitcase, but I decided to buy "Fairy dust" because it really suited on me and everyone around me liked the scent. And it surely has a lasting power! I put it on me during the night, and in the plane you could still smell it, and when I arrived to the airport, there was the scent! (8 hours trip) Beach plus a nice aroma = Amazing vacations :) I truly recommend you all to go to a store to first smell it, there are many people who dislike it, but, there are a few (including me) who love it.

I do not look at celeb perfumes as inferior, and as a result of that mind set I have quite a few of them in my wardrobe. I bought Fairy Dust from fragrance.net for less than ten dollars. I was hoping for something wearable, but I had minimal expectations. I sprayed it and realized that I actually liked it a lot more than I anticipated. Maybe it is because it has that "old lady" vibe to it that others mentioned in their reviews. I do not know nor do I particularly care if it old ladyish or teenagers-ish. I find it quite nice, cozy and wearable. The sillage is moderate and it last for at least four hours on my skin, and for ten bucks that is fairly remarkable. For me the floral notes are well blended with the patchouli and it has a loud opening but a smooth and quiter dry down. I may not buy a back up bottle but I will definitely enjoy this one. .

Warm, bubbly peach wine and vanilla- yum! I truly love this now but that wasn't the case initially. Peach-patchouli-musk unexpectedly dominated and I found it far too heavy. After having been sprayed several times, it's as if the remaining liquid woke up, fresh and lighter. I find the the overall scent to be so comforting. It may be reminiscent of Juicy but it is not the same. I have both and prefer Fairy Dust. Loving the dessert-wine quality! *This is now nearly straight vanilla on me. Deep vanilla with peach slices, a touch of faint flowers and soft musk add nuance.. I can't help but love that. It's not for everyone (what is?) but when it works, it works, and it is beautiful. I laugh at the comments saying this is a grandma perfume. :) I will be one great smelling grandma! ♥ *Now springtime, the dry down on my skin is gardenia and vanilla.

I don’t understand the amount of negativity on this Fragrance! I think it’s because it’s by Paris Hilton but as someone said before; if this was a designer Fragrance there wouldn’t be so much backlash on it. It is a PERFECT dupee for Juicy Couture for Women, the only difference is that Fairy Dust dries down more musky as opposed to a more sweet caramel like Juicy Couture. This was a blind buy for me and I am so impressed by it! I don’t have to spend $70 on a bottle of Juicy Couture when something so similar is only $8 with literally the exact same smell and Sillage. Though I will always buy Juicy Couture because I enjoy prestige and quality, I can easily go to Paris Hilton’s if I can not afford the other! GREAT BUY! would recommend for someone ages 25-45 years!

I got this as a gift many years ago and hated it at first. Then I grew to really appreciate its sophistication. It’s a classy scent, kind of mature a night perfume that can be worn year round I think, but especially a spring or summer perfume. I, being typically into sweeter perfumes and in my early 20’s, appreciated this perfume which really has an old school vibe. I wish I could find my bottle. I would rebuy a small bottle of this as it’s a classy scent for the price. Edit: I found my bottle along with several other perfumes I was missing. It is very harsh at first spray, then develops into a lovely sophisticated floral. So glad I found this. I also smell peach in the mix.

The scent is very special two me it does somthing for my stress. It has the power to relax me ..before i even new that sleeping in perfume was something other people did. i started two with this fragrance. it can be over sprayed i say around 4 or 5 is good for me even less depending on how i feel. It lasts very well on me and has a good non overpowering sillage.. I dont like to use it all the time just randomly here and there but i do love this stuff very much. I have all of paris scents this osnt my favorite Tease is ...but this white floral oarnge blossom scent is very good id it was made by a fashion house i could see this being like the new younger Chanel no5

I love all the references to "old lady" in these reviews. I guess everyone has their own idea of what constitutes an old lady perfume. To me, I'd say something like Chanel No. 5 or Emeraud screams "old lady". This perfume, Fairy Dust, reminds me of being in my 20s (I'm turning 40 this year). With my chemistry, the smell is quite peppery and deep, and it lasts all day. I would definitely call it sexy and ... well, not necessarily mature... but old the enough-to-know-better, kind of mature. It smells the best in the middle of summer. Deep and syrupy and delicious. I will wear this one for the next 20 years if I can.

This was a blind buy for me. It was down to $5 a bottle and I can't resist a bargain. I am not a fan of Paris Hilton and never bothered testing her fragrances and of course, when this was on special there were no testers to be found. I was initially disappointed, as on first spray all I could smell was fly spray! Within a short time however this fragrance settled down to a mature white floral that I am really enjoying. Completely unexpected, I guess I thought, 'celeb scent, therefore sweet and sugary'. How wrong I was. Longevity and sillage seem pretty good and I will stock up before I can no longer find it again.

This is not Fairy Dust... Smells nothing like what I imagine Fairy Dust to smell like. This is Fairy Farts... If Tinkerbell lived on a diet of Gardenias this is what she would smell like. This would have to be my favourite Gardenia fragrance, it is gentle, a little bit shy but it is all Gardenia with the added sweetness of Peony. Only lasts on the skin about 3 hours (I can still smell it on my clothes the next day though), the scent stays a true gardenia, this is no fading flower. Absolutely Gorgeous, I am surprised by Paris Hilton's taste, she comes off as a pink girly girl but this is all woman.

Not to sound too much of a cynic, but I hate this perfume and everything about it. I think I'm going to chalk it up to bad chemistry with my skin or my dislike for certain notes because if everyone smelt it the way I do, noone would ever buy it and it would be used to scent glad trashbags. Too far? Maybe. The gardenia is cloying and obtrusive. My nose is trying to recover and I can't seem to find any patchouli or basically anything not found in Windex. Sorry Paris, I don't think fragrance is your thing. Maybe stick to your reality show "Paris Hiltons Next BFF", oh wait I hate that too.

I love this perfume. It was a blind buy. No sample bottle in the shop. I've resisted buying Paris Hilton frags but the name Fairy Dust intrigued me. What a wonderful surprise when I sprayed it on. A beautiful burst of orange blossom yes strong and sweet but it settles very quickly to gardenia. I love anything gardenia. It reminds me of hot heady nights. I was definitely sold. The patchouli is gentle. This is a fantastic buy to add to my frag collection. Who knows I might even buy another Paris Hilton frag. I have read good things about Siren. Any thoughts from anyone?

This is probably my all time favorite fragrance. It so pretty, delicate, and feminine. The gardenia speaks to my inner Southern Belle. The other notes play 'supporting character' roles to the gardenia star, and for a minute you might be swept away to an evening walk in a southern estate garden. That being said, this scent is not for everyone and just like any perfume it smells different on every body. My only complaint is the bottle design, and that is simply horrible. But I do hope you will see past that and give Fairy Dust a try.

I love this....and I mean LOVE! Take that Luca Turin! He gave this 1 star and a humorous 'fruity terror' label. Haha! It's the lotus. The lotus is why I love Britney's Curious (another Turin 1 star fragrance!) so much also. It rises above any other note on my skin which is perhaps why this one is not 'grannyish' on me (gosh that's a term I dislike on these reviews) It transcends the gardenia, it's still there but is a creamy background note. Fruit syrupy lotus, unashamedly cheap and cheerful. I'm here for it.

Peony and orange blossoms seem like a pretty scent I should like, and I do, it’s fun to buy at good prices and if it doesn’t work out you haven’t lost much. I like this fragrance. It’s not impressive, but it’s light and daytimey. It’s flowery and has no harsh chemical smell like some inexpensive scents. The thing I like most about it is that it is flowery in a more sophisticated way and is not powdery. Nothing to complain about here. An inexpensive winner!

This is my cozy perfume that I like to wear to bed. This used to be my everyday perfume when I went to high school. People here saying it smells grandma ish makes me conscious now. It make me want to sniff my night shirt over and over because of how cozy and comforting it is. It lasts for hours on me as well. I wouldn't wear it out as I don't wanna give off grandma vibes (supposedly) but this will always be my cozy to bed and weekends at home fragrance.

I bought this perfume because it was on offer at a discount shop, its was a blind purchase and to be honest I wasn't expecting too much from it BUT I love it! I even went back to purchase a second bottle. When reading the notes I realized why. White Florals with Vanilla, these seem to be a recurring theme in my perfumes without my knowledge. And I Love the Bottle, its not overdone.but prefer the inner packaging to the outer (that's my only criticism)

This is a great fragrance! The box looks a bit cheap but the bottle is lovely and looks great on a vintage dresser! The scent is a very stick floral scent which is a bit like marmite - either you love it or hate it! I love it, it's great during the hot spring days when your just having a casual day! it is quite a mature scent however so i would defo reccomend smelling it first! I got mine from BodyCare in the UK for £7.99

I love this!!!! What a great cheapie, sort of like how wonderful Madonna Truth or Dare was and under $10. Bottle this and call it niche! This is a very dry Gardenia that really smells to me like Tuberose. It has that difficulty level, creaminess and is paired with a super soft musk and some underlying tiny bit of peony. So glad I blind bought this one. Perfect for spring.

Very lovely white floral, big personality and very inviting. Waxy gardenia sweetened by a lightly jammy peach & sweet peony, all balanced on a solid musk. There's a light leather accord I'm detecting, though I don't see it as a listed note. Good sillage (arms' length) and while it stays pretty linear, it's no less engaging for its efforts. Perfect for warmer weather.

This is beautiful! It has to be above 55 degrees to experience it's beauty. I notice when it's too warm to experience my juicy couture to its full potential, then it's time to layer fairy dust and escadas born in paradise. There you have a warmer weather juicy couture! I love this gorgeous floral! Girls like me gotta have our florals! Thank you for this Paris!

I love this! It is all about sweetness, with a lot fizzy processo and peach. Yum!! The other notes seem to stay in the background-except for a little gentle musk that peeks through now and again. Thankfully, I get no patchouli. I don't get an old fashioned vibe at all. For me, Fairy Dust is a really well done fruity floral. I love how it lasts. And lasts.

Just got this as part of one of my best blind purchases ever. I love this! This is sweet white flowers, & peach that dries into a benzoin, musk, vanilla. My husband commented there’s an unripe fruit he smells, so he’s not a fan but oh well!. I think fairy dust is an apt name & I like the packaging. I can see replacing this when it’s done.

I'm wearing this right now, and I just love it more and more. I think if you're expecting something sweet, fruity, and fizzy, try Dazzle or Heiress. This perfume is strongly weighted with white florals, but I like it. i don't get any peach or vanilla. Patch is very mild but lends staying power. It's so cheap, too. More for me!

All the horror stories here made me so curious that I blind bought a bottle just to experience it. It's...great! I get gardenias, musk and a little bit of peach. It's elegant, but not hard to wear. Fairy Dust isnt sweet like the other Hilton offerings, so maybe that's what turned people off.

Lots of gardenia and musk in this fragrance. Pretty, sharp, and sexy. I'm a bit surprised for its quality considering its cheap price and the fact that it's a celebrity perfume. The projection, silage, and longevity are just perfect. Really nothing to complain about. Love this.

I got the samples and later make a purchase. It has strong Jasmine notes and but later Patchouli notes were dominating and made me uneasy. Gave it to my mom and she loves it. She keeps getting compliments for it. Haha :)

It is strong floral, i had it for few daya and then gave to mom. It was never disappointing but i felt its mature for me, but mom loved it.

to veanera, try jontue. not the same, but distant cousin, very flowery, light, beautiful, and not heavy patchouli at anytime of the wearing

I like paris hilton and Iloove Fairy Dust. A little tuberose and applelike smell. Its lasting with good sillage. My favourite fragrance.

One of my personal favourites, smells less floral then i expected it would, i smell a lot of powdery notes and some peach on my skin.

This perfume isn't sold in my country and I'm interested in celebrity perfumes.it's pretty name,it's lovely notes(gardenia,musk,peony,orange flower and vanilla are my favorites)and it's very cheap price made me order it from a foreign website.I expected to like it and I did when I first tested it.I could see why it's compared to juicy couture but I didn't find them that similar Last week I sprayed it on my skin for the first time.it's opening was nice.very loud and a bit harsh but still a nice,happy floral scent.my husband believed it's beautiful(he's into floral scents).but it didn't take much time to settle down to something I couldn't stand!first I thought why our room smells like cucumber but then I could see that it's not cucumber.it's like melon or watermelon.something ozonic and aquatic(which I hate)and something like spoiled fruit mixed with very intense white floral.I guess I can't handle peach and lotus together.all in all I hate lotus when I can detect it in a fragrance and it's very dominant here(at least on my skin).hubby asked me wether I had sprayed another perfume?I answered no.he was surprised:"but this one smelled nice.now it's disgusting!" In that stage, I found it very similar to juicy couture but JC is balanced and not as loud as this one,also not as ozonic,aquatic as fairy dust though it's the one with water melon note.actually I can sometimes like JC (in rare occasions)but fairy dust made me sick.I'm very easy going and nothing can easily cause me headache or nausea but fairy dust was one of the rare cases I couldn't tolerate a perfume for even one more minute and had to wash it off and for the first time I experienced what I had read several time in negative reviews.it was so strong that I couldn't remove it! Not every people is so sensitive to ozonic scents and not everyone has my skin chemistry which amps up anything aquatic or ozonic so I can get why other people may love it. Today I decided to give it another chance.when first sprayed I could smell something like lilies rather than mentioned florals.then the terrifying phase started and lasted for an hour with huge sillage.it was better in drydown.finally I could smell my beloved gardenia but it didn't go well with ripe peach,soapy musk and sharp lotus to my nose.I won't try it again any time soon It's bottle is another disappointment.it looks very cheap unlike it's nice box.a perfume named fairy dust can be more pretty and should smell totally different,soft and sparkly,delicate and magical,in my book Fortunately it was cheap so I'll probably gift my 3.4oz bottle to a friend who likes it.this bad experience won't prevent me from testing other Paris Hilton perfumes as I also have dazzle from her which is pretty and easy to wear

I blind bought Fairy Dust seven years ago and absolutely hated it. but my sister loved it so I let her use it. she used almost 80% of it before giving it back to me. recently I decided to give it another chance and wow! either my chemistry and preferences has changed or aging has changed Fairy Dust a lot(it's juice is amber colored now) because I had to change the hate rating to like! I remember it used to be very aquatic and ozonic, smelled like cucumber, lots of lotus and overripe peach and I was sad that I can't detect much gardenia and orange flower. It's not ozonic anymore and now I can detect the mentioned floral notes but it's still not a gardenia bomb (for reference I see Kim Kardashian as a gardenia bomb). I wonder if the notes list is complete because I can detect a lot of unlisted notes like lily, lily of the valley, freezia, rose, jasmine, lilac and litchi Fairy Dust has a synthetic, unbalanced opening but after a couple of minutes it settles down to a loud and beautiful flower explosion. peony+lily+lily of the valley +gardenia+rose+orange blossom+jasmine and lilac are all there. the floral accord is heady and loud and proud but also has some freshness to it and reminds me of the floral accord in Estee Lauder Pleasures Bloom,Guerlain Idylle and Lancome Miracle. there's a fruity undertone but it's more like a mix of fruits rather than just peach and reminds me of the fruity accord in D&G The One (peach+litchi+mandarin orange) with a hint of watermelon and there's this beautiful, sensual musk which reminds me of the musk note in Estee Lauder Modern Muse. vanilla and patchouli are not strong but they must be there doing their job as balancing notes, adding warmth and depth and anchoring down fresh florals. flowers have a green, watery undertone in first couple of hours but as it developes, a warm,golden,honeylike sweetness shows up and rounds out the initial sharpness of flowers. in this stage, it reminds me of Micallef Watch a bit Eventhough Fairy Dust is not my style (I'm a gourmand girl), I'm truely impressed by how expensive and high quality it smells. If you test it blindly, it could easily pass as something with Estee Lauder brand on it. It also has an impressive performance and leaves a fragrant trail behind you as you walk. don't overspray this one because it's potent and can get headache inducing. I highly recommend you to try it if you're into classic florals because if you like it, it would be a bang for your buck. BTW I don't find it really powdery or lactonic and I don't find it too similar to Juicy Couture or Burberry London

Fairy Dust is a good fragrance, but a hard sell. It may be a celebrity fragrance, one in a million under the Paris Hilton brand, but it is far from a fruity, sickeningly sweet Lolita moment the category suggests. In fact, if the Fairy Dust marketing campaign suggests Tinker Bell’s vivacity and lightness, the actual juice lands closer to Wendy’s mom: it is an enveloping, heavy floral, beautifully mature and suggestive of nights at the opera rather than in Neverland. Much more Kathy than Paris Hilton. This is not the fragrance I expected when I bought it at a local drugstore, with no prior knowledge, for next to nothing. As I mentioned, it stands out with an olfactory presence and sophistication that is in stark contrast to its ad campaign (Tinker Bell as Gladiator? Unclear.), which is to say nothing of its tacky bottle. Its strong peony opening is replaced by a well-blended and sturdy gardenia accord, before it settles into a robust musky lotus skin scent. It doesn’t let up for a moment, and is a safe choice for fresh fall weather or a night out — but again, country clubs or galas, and not the more carefree glam the PH brand is built around. Fairy Dust is, without a doubt, a worthy addition to one’s wardrobe, but it requires some Inception-level deprogramming for a truly personal experience. A false advertisement, perhaps, but a rewarding fragrance nonetheless — especially for its current pricing.

After passing by Paris Hilton's offerings in the perfume department I finally came across this beauty. "Fairy Dust" is definitely a lovely intimate scent for a woman who wants to go out to intimate places without smelling obnoxious at night. All of the notes are noted from start to finish. I distinctly got the gardenia (which I thought was jasmine) the apricot and that beautiful musk that lifts this scent to where it should be. I distinctly love the details on the box under the coverlet with Paris looking like a freaky fairy. Nevertheless, the sparkling highlights on dark blue is gorgeous. I think the bottle, though simple, is gorgeous and easy to hold. I appreciate the way the inside blue of the spray cap catches the light of the fairy figure spark on the bottle. I was so satisfied with this fragrance I bought two and I am not giving anyone any. Its the night fragrance I was looking for after searching so hard. I got 2 100mL for $40TT for one! Magnificent in my book. If you are searching for a pretty night fragrance do give "Fairy Dust" a try. My mother smelled it on me on Saturday night and said she really liked how it smelled. Must admit though, like a fairy this fragrance is a shy one during the day but comes out to play and spread its powdery beautiful indolic drama at night. This is my first night fragrance hands down!

I love that this is a really affordable crispy white floral smell. Like the notes are missing the top note of Prosecco which I think plays a huge part in the opening of this perfume as it’s very sweet with a bubbly peach Prosecco accord that makes it stand apart from other gardenia perfumes to me, when that dies down the perfect wet and humid gardenia comes out and it’s so alluring with a faint hint of peony in the background and it stays that way for a while. In the dry down a whisper of patchouli comes out but I feel it’s the musk that stands out the most as it begins to blend In with the heart notes and then becomes stronger as the scent begins to fade. It’s so cheap to pick up now and I love the 80s style lid and the box I was loving all the shimmery art with Paris all over the box. The juice has turned to an orange brown colour but I always think that means the perfume has aged better like a fine wine lol but that’s just me. If you see this pick it up it can be found for around £10 for the 100ml In the uk and it’s a long lasting white floral that doesn’t smell like a normal celeb fragrance. I see the comparisons with Juicy Couture but I feel that’s more of a tuberose watermelon kind of freshness and Fairy Dust is a Gardenia dipped in peach Prosecco.

Anapaul I feel sad that you are feeling self conscious about wearing Fairy Dust. I want to reassure you that this fragrance does not smell like a grandma, although it is appropriate for a wide age range. I'm sure that you smell absolutely lovely while wearing it! Fragrance perceptions are quite individual to the wearer as well as those smelling it around us. If we think it makes us smell like a grandma then that is the perception we will create while wearing it, others will perceive this fragrance based upon their own fragrance memories and tastes. For me, this is a beautiful floral heavy fragrance with a unique musky base. Your referral of this fragrance as cozy is spot on and I think that it projects like that because of the way the base notes work together to create a casual warm feeling while wearing it. I smell the orange blossom on the top and the gardenia and lotus in the mid are predominant, not a lot of peach. This is not a candy sweet fragrance but it's sweet in a floral musky way. I am impressed with the longevity and projection when I wear it, easily 4-5 hours medium projection. I feel pretty and confident while wearing Fairy Dust. It's not a dated perfume in the least! Enjoy!

I owed fairy dust another review When I saw that I can't like it,I decided to gift it to my sister in law.our perfume taste is exactly opposite.she usually hates what I like(gourmands,sweet scents) and I hate what she likes(light aquatic florals,citrus scent) I was hesitant because I never found her liking white florals or heavy perfumes but I was sure that I can smell lots of lotus here and she loves lotus.when she sprayed it,I thought wow it really smells good at first.as time passed nothing changed.it was still very lovely.a clean musky floral which projected very well and when walked,she lefted tail of a fresh,feminine scent behind.she said that she loves it and told me that it reminds her previous signature scent,bvlgari omnia crystalline! I hate to treat a perfume unkindly and now I'm so happy that I could find a place for my full bottle of fairy dust where it's loved Don't pass this one untried.if you like it and of course if it likes you,you may find a great value for the money you pay

Like most of you I wouldn't even give a chance to a Miss Hilton's perfume. Of course I am prejudiced by the image of her personality given by the media: partying, spoiled, rich heiress with no obvious talents... But, it came in a big bunch of samples that I bought and this one was the most pleasant surprise, even though there were few niche samples in the group. Obviously this works great with my body chemistry. It does smell white floral, but to my nose it is mostly like white lily, and it reminds me a little of my teenage years love Anais Anais, or even one of the lily fragrances I like now Lys Fume. OK, OK it so not so complex, or creamy,or beautiful, but it is decent floral that smells very natural to me, as opposed to all the "synthetic" comments most of you made. I don't need to buy a bottle but I can appreciate this, and I think more people would if they do blind testing and disassociate it from the notorious girl. It smells more expensive then it is and it's perfect for spring.

First things first: if this wasn't a celebrity fragrance (and associated with a particularly, ahem, vacuous celeb to boot) this would get so much more love I am certain. Second thing: the name is incredibly misleading. 'Fairy Dust' makes me think of the Lily Flame candle/room spray of the same name - all fluffy marshmallow and pink powder puffs. That's NOT what this is. In truth, Fairy Dust is a very nicely done, grown-up white floral and high quality considering the bargainous price. Its a strong, creamy gardenia and tuberose combination (tuberose is unlisted, but come ON: this is tuberose central!) for about an hour, with thwacking great projection. I really don't get the patchouli at all. It mellows down nicely an hour or so in and the other notes creep in. I get peach, orange blossom, vanilla and a light musk. It has shades of a less potent Madonna Truth or Dare in the dry down, which is a winner with me. Definitely one of the superior celeb fragrances.

I bought This because I loved the original juicy couture, but it was too expensive. This one is really cheap and it does smell similar enough for me to replace the original juicy. But I feel like the juicy couture is more complicated (in a good way) and this one kinda smells cheap. BUT! I'm loving it for the price and it's similarity to juicy. I wouldn't recommend this for its own merit. Edit: Ok.....So i've worn this for quite a bit now, since i really loved it in the beginning. But, it's been about a month since i've bought it, and lately i've been smelling crayon. This perfume is borderline peach-gardenia and crayon! I warn future buyers....this might smell good in the beginning, but it goes bad pretty quickly and i smell crayon sometimes! sad. I should just stop trying and buy the original juicy couture. And to the above commenter: no, the liquid should not be yellow. you've got a bad one.

Well hello Fairy Dust aren't you a lovely surprise! I bought this blind yesterday for $10 at my local Chemist. Thankfully this ended up being a good and happy blind buy for me Its a lovely white floral, with a freshness to it. Maybe its the Lotus or Peach that's doing that? But it also has a musky , vanilla and soft patchouli under tone to it that sits so nice on my skin This lasts a good 7/8 hours on my skin before it starts to disappear , which is pretty good before id have to reapply This is such a pretty scent. I really like it . I had heard this was nice , so for 10 bucks I thought "What the heck. Lets live on the edge! " LOL Ive only ever smelt one of Paris's perfumes before and that was her very first one when it came out years ago, and after that I was turned off by her perfumes and would just walk straight past them. I really did not like that first scent one bit !

What makes you think she made the fragrance? I fathom a personality ascribes a signature to product. Rationale being? This reminds me of a lighter version of Estee's 'Youth Dew'. Sometimes, but not always a hint of a dirty V Gina. Yet sometimes. It's not cheap at all. As for Paris H her projected image has somewhat been tarnished. Mostly to her advantage. What's this old lady crap? You'll all be old ladies and gent's one day too, if you get to live long enough. After all accidents do Happen! Disease and just plain life. This isn't too bad. Like I mentioned in my 'Heiress' review. I smell cinnamon and geraniums. This an acceptable and some what complex fragrance that has staying power and subtleness. Not at first whiff though, but soon after it settles. Quite nicely. Lot's bang, colloquially speaking for one's buck. Your children's children will want a bottle. Cheers T.
