Cedar Woodpecker 10

Cedar Woodpecker immediately caught my attention from the first spray. The opening gave me the impression of a bright bergamot, even if it isn’t officially listed, adding a fresh sparkle before the fragrance quickly settled into its true character. As it develops, the iris becomes the star of the composition. It’s soft and powdery without feeling cosmetic, complemented beautifully by violet and a smooth, earthy cedar accord. Everything feels incredibly well blended, with no note overpowering the others. What impressed me most is the texture. Rather than relying on sweetness or heavy projection, it creates a refined, comforting scent that keeps drawing me back to smell my arm throughout the day. It’s elegant without being formal and distinctive without trying too hard. If you enjoy fragrances built around polished woods, iris, and subtle sophistication, Cedar Woodpecker is well worth experiencing. It has become one of those fragrances that reminds me not every masterpiece has to be loud. Scent: 9.5/10 Longevity: 8/10 Projection: 6.5/10

There are only two notes listed, but those two are worth an army! Yes, it's quite linear with almost no development, but there's a lot of depth and complexity in just those two notes. Cedar is quite dry and a bit resinous, makes me think about forest in the spring, iris is floral and not synthetic plastic lipstick mess you find in another fragrances (especially designers like Dior Homme or Prada L'homme). Masterfully blended, uplifting and very versatile - any season, any time of the day. It's one of my most loved fragrances and I was shocked to see such a low rating here

It really isn't that interesting and longevity is poor. But, I love it anyways. I think this is first perfume that I would say it leans to masculine that I really love on myself, and would also love to smell it on a guy. It is not cloying, not too strong, nor too bitter. But also not too sweet, vanilla-soft or too lip-stick powdery. It is somehow perfectly packed, I love the scent. I will come up with a word that describes this scent better and update my review, but I really don't believe you should underestimate this one:)

This is the minimalist's woody scent. A very interesting scent that comes across as a modern variant or something like Heritage/Habit Rouge. It's also much better than Santal 33, where S33 is blocky and unrefined this scent uses a few woody notes to create a unifying cedar accord that with the glossy/soapy iris is an uplifting woody fragrance. Decent longevity and silage as well. 8/10

I love wearing this at work in transitional months. Early spring and late fall. Michel Almaraic knows how to blend a fragrance, his experience is on display here. Can’t go wrong with Parle moi de parfum, which is, per capita, the easiest blind buy niche brand bar none.

Very nice clean and elegant composition; smooth woody and creamy. This is for the many men like a sexy lumber jack

A massively sharp citrus and cedar fragrance in the opening, really unrelenting and woody as hell. The cedar starts to turn a trifle pissy for me but it's no where to the extent of some other intense cedars I've tried. Woodpecker seems to just about keep it in check before drying down further to a lovely but slightly lacking, warm woody drydown. On skin it was a nice transition but at no point was I wowed, the card I sprayed and put in my car actually still smells superb. I couldn't really get the iris but the card one, doesn't smell entirely of cedar so I've no reason to doubt it's there. I could see why some might rave about this, I'm less enthusiastic but I liked it somewhat.

I instantly loved this because the opening it's very reminiscent of the colognes and soaps that my beloved grandpa used on himself when I was little. A middle class gentleman through and through, he was a man of quiet elegance and impeccable cleanliness, and I remember him fondly. I would say this is discreet, classy and down to earth fragrance, leaning quite masculine. The opening is a refreshing fir/cedarwood/vetiver concoction, while the drydown is somewhat underwhelming, very soft and mostly powdery with a faint woodiness. Performance is somewhat less than average, so the pricepoint feels a bit extravagant.

Cedar Woodpecker is a delicious woody fragrance - more wearable than CDG’s Wonderwood - that works great in Autumnal weather but thanks to a floral freshness it would probably work quite well even during early Springtime. This is definitely a solid choice for a formal events or at the office - good projection for at least 5 or 6 hours before it sits closer to the skin - with a noticeable but not arrogant sillage... lasts all day long; excellent longevity. It’s great, it’s clean, and could very well make a great workplace signature... but it’s not interesting or alluring enough for wearing at home or on a date.

Very simple and smooth, the powdery aspect to the iris is well balanced with the dryness of the cedar wood which gives this fragrance a bit of a feel like opening an old chest of cosmetics. Slightly antiquated yet simple and a bit addictive! This is quite linear on me as well and neither of the iris nor cedar tries to envelop each other as time goes by.

After the citrus top notes dissipate you are left with a mildly powdery cedar scent backed by some very “interesting” musks. Unfortunately the musk notes don’t react well with my skin and they are prominent enough notes to cause me some discomfort. If there is violet in this it comes across more like a watery melon, although slightly vegetal so perhaps it's violet leaf. I can also detect a watery amber note but I'm not sure if this is from a combination of violet leaf and amber, or ambroxan, or both. Everything about it is fine and it's crafted well enough but I have to agree with the general consensus here and say that it's a little dull.

I get 75% cedar wood 25% Iris. The woodiness is strong and cuts out the powderiness (I dislike powdery notes ) from the Iris which I’m a fan of. This a very crisp, clean woody scent. Great for spring

a ho-hum, low-budget rendition of Santal 33; this perfume is utterly devoid of charm or personality. Unisex. 2.5/5

The dry down loses everything I like about iris unfortunately and turns into this weird powdered soap aroma. I want to say the cedar is interesting and potentially high quality but it's also the first time I can realistically imagine "pencil shavings" from the note and it's not really enjoyable. It's very perfume-y and feminine, but also reminds me of cheap deodorant. It's a shame because I like Heeley's Iris de Nuit which on the surface shares similar notes of iris and cedar, but takes things in a completely different direction. Or better yet Cedre Iris by Affinessence- and exactly similar focus on the pairing of cedar and iris. I can actually think of many iris perfumes that smell much better so don't go into it thinking you'll get beautiful, purple, earthy florals like most other irises. I understand the name implies mostly cedar, but to me the aroma is a pretty even split between ingredients.

I get overwhelming and very soapy/powdery freesia/iris. Being slightly allergic to freesia and even disliking it a bit this is really not a scent I enjoy. (Actually slightly hurts my nose.) I was looking forward to a woody scent, but to my nose the flowers really overpower in the beginning. The drydown is much nicer, but the first hour or so with this scent is so unbearable for me that this is definitely a pass.

Smells nice. Opens with refreshing bergamot citrus and it's so gorgeous!! Followed by iris which fades into the cedar. I love the opening! I'm not as fond of the cedar base at all, where I'm picking up an indolic vibe that I do not enjoy at all. Someone below says its from some unlisted notes. - I want a fragrance that just consists of the opening of this fragrance. I'd buy that one!!

Aghast, dismayed, heartbroken, disappointed doesn’t quite cover it. After the roaring success of Orris Tattoo and Papyrus Oud, I was desperate to try this, fully expecting a kind of perfect synthesis: a marriage of everything that worked so beautifully in those two fragrances. What I got instead couldn’t be further removed if it had tried. Rather than sharing any DNA with its siblings, this feels like it exists in an entirely different universe. I genuinely struggle to believe a single ingredient overlaps between the three, which only deepens the let-down. Given the materials being touted, I expected harmony; instead, the composition feels fundamentally misguided. On my skin, it opens with a dank, stinky patchouli before sliding quickly into a sour, plasticky faux-wood accord that lingers, and not in a good way, for a solid five hours. Eventually it dries down into something arid and nauseating, the kind of scent that demands scrubbing and veers straight into “granny” territory. I’ve tested it five separate times, across seasons, hoping something might click. It never does. In hindsight, I’ll own that my expectations played a role. I wanted this to be more than what the listed ingredients promised. I was quietly hoping for a touch of orris, not declared, but doing what it so often does in iris-adjacent fragrances: lending structure, elegance, and depth. I’m usually very good at detecting it when it’s quietly present. Here, there’s none. The woods smell artificial and sour, and I also pick up a sharp, irritating cyclamen-like note that isn’t listed. It feels as though there should be something interesting happening beneath the surface, but instead everything clashes. The result is a discordant mess, one I don’t just dislike, but actively hate, made worse by how far it strays from what it suggests it will be.

Say it out loud. Is this really a $145 dollar perfume? This has Surrender to Chance sample written all over it. Actually, this smells like one of those Cremo body washes. I just can't remember which one. In my opinion, the real value for this fragrance would be in layering. I'm not much of a layerer myself and that's because I like for my fragrances to be an event on it's own. Bravo to Luckyscent's writing team for all those glowing adjectives used to sell products! Too bad the summary for this particular fragrance was sensationalized. Luckyscent's gender meter had me to believe Cedar Woodpecker had some umph or electricity(as they stated). I was hoping for this cedar to be a little more mischievous than let's say Woody Woodpecker. This fleecy fragrance is E for everyone and that's partly because it won't offend anyone when worn. The cedar never becomes strident(unless you factor in the 1st ten seconds) and the violet shows itself like a paid speaker; appears for about an hour and then retreats. Cedar Woodpecker is too safe for me to care about. I will say this much...this has impressive longevity to be such an introverted fragrance. It's good to have a safe fragrance on deck that you can reach for no matter the occasion. This is not one of my favorites. I'm gonna let you guys shoot the dice while I side bet.

تست امشب سدار وود پیکر . اولین چیزی تو تست این عطر نظرمو جلب کرد اینه که چرا این عطر مردونه معرفی شده . هیچ اشکالی هم نداره که آقایون از این نوع ترکیبات مصرف کنند . وود پیکر بیشتر از اینکه حس مردونه داشته باشه حس زنانگی . پودری . صابونی و خیلی تمیزی رو تداعی می‌کنه . مثل ی تیکه الوار تازه بریده شده که روش کره زنبق مالیده شده باشه . بشدت معطر و زیبا . تو ترکیبات عطر فقط چوب سدار و زنبق اومده . قطعا فقط اینا نیست . تو فضای کلی عطر واضحا بوی گریپ فروت و هل و موسک و فلفل سیاه هم احساس میشه . پایه گذار این برند میشل المیراک دوست داشتنی هست به همراه پسر دومش بنام بنجامین. المیراک رو با فرمول‌های بشدت عامه پسند و غنی با پرفورمنس های خیلی محشرش میشناسیم که قوانین دست و پا گیر ایفرا ذوق و توانایی خیلی از پرفیومرها رو کور کرده. شاید المیراک با این برند به رویاهای خودش تحقق بده. وود پیکر رو باید ی عطر کاملا وودی فلورال معرفی کرد بنیان رایحه روی آکورد فلوراله . مثل بوی زنبق و بنفشه . ماتیکی . پنکیکی . صابونی . ولی بوی چوب سدار نمیزاره اون حس ناب و نفیس زنبق رو خالص داشت . ی ته بوی چرک و کثیف هم داره که من احساس میکنم از موسک باشه . این عطر اصلا منو بیاد هیچ عطری ننداخت و بنظرم با اینکه سادست ولی خیلی یونیک و نو هست . در کل خیلی ازش خوشم اومد . رایحه بسیار زیبا و تمیزی داره . کیفیت عطر خیلی بالاست . بشدت عامه پسنده پرفورومنسش هم کاملا قابل قبوله .

People complaining this is pedestrian or generic are comical. Yes it is another woody citrus fragrance, but this does not mean uniqueness and quality are not possible. I don't even like this one but anyone with a nose can smell this is crafted well and is quite unique, then it is a matter of taste whether you like it or not. To me this smells like nothing Ive ever smelled before. while it is very woody it is also very smooth like the top of a freshly sawed cedar stump. No spicy sharpness or dryness that cedar can give. But that being said I didn't like this perfume. I haven't seen mentions of this but to me this is quite sweet. Too sweet for a fragrance purported to be primarily woody. Why is it so sweet with these notes? Almost feels like the sweetness of a jammy rose without the rose. orange creamsicle-esque. If we could get this same velvety cedar with a profumum Roma style dry citrus I would pay $300. Not this. Pass.
