Chypre Mojo 45

I came across this accidentally, but it was one of the better scents i tried that day. perfume even though have a very simple notes structure has a good depth to it. on my skin it opened up as a smoky fruity a little sweet warm mango perfume. if anyone had experience with i believe zefiro and either you or someone like you or remarkable people, then this is something around the same alley. very nice, reasonable prices, long lasting which was 8 hrs on my skin. roja extraits hold around 10 hrs only, so that speaks for itself. safe blind buy. works great on man and woman. definitely check it out :)

This fragrance has an addictive quality that's hard to describe. It starts out tropical and pretty sweet, but the middle notes are what I can't get enough. I think it is the patchouli that cuts the (nearly syrupy) top notes and gives it an incredible body that fills your nose to the brim. Dried down, the base notes are very lightly sweet compared to the opening. The bergamot calls directly back to the addicting middle notes, which has me reapplying this after about 4-5 hours. 8.5/10 overall; this is a seriously well crafted perfume.

I was recently at Scent Bar and sheepishly asked if they had anything fruity chypre not even totally sure I knew what chypre was. One sniff and I HAD TO HAVE THIS. The carnation is just the right amount of spicy, bergamot adds some green and juiciness, grounded by a light, woody patchouli and the mango fills all the spaces in between, nicely rounding this out. But really it isn’t one of those candy scents at all. You know how the pit of a mango is slightly pine-like? That sort of mango. Well blended.

This is identical to Vilhelm perfumerie sparkling jo. It is fresh, aldehydic, sparkling, and fruity at the same time. I find this combination unique compared to the usual summer fragrances that are beachy or sickly sweet. There is patchouli so if that is something you don't like maybe stick to the sparkling jo. Otherwise only difference to me is mango vs mimosa in the opening. I honestly can't tell them apart. Anyway, great longevity, sillage, and just fantastic for a unique summer fragrance.

I have been looking for a fruity-floral-chypre that wasn’t candy sweet or heady to no avail since it also turns out a lot of chypres become too medicinal for me. THIS however is just perfect. It’s mango at the forefront and floral-chypre in the background. I love the choice of carnation as a flower rather than other flowers typically used. My family always eats champagne mangos as desert after dinner, growing up and even still. So, this perfume is both alluring and comforting to me.

In small quantities this is gorgeous. It's a more interesting version of fruitchuli. A little overpriced but definitely delicious. It's very rich and blossoms in cooler weather.I first tried it on a warm day and dod not like how cloying and syrupy it was. However, on a cool day it's gorgeous. Definitely in the same family as flowerbomb, less sweet.

Opening to dry down this is an amazing scent. It has a tropical, slighly sirupy sweet smell with an earthiness from the patchouli and freshness from the bergamot, it is also lighly floral but just a tiny bit. Gorgeous smelling. Leans more feminine in my opinion.

So this was the last one I tried from Michel Almairac's brand and probably had the most lasting impression. He's somebody I recently wrote about as not really a one hit wonder but someone who hasn't been as prolific as some perfumers. Maybe this is just because he's done lots of stuff that I wouldn't neccesarily gravitate towards. (most scents marketed for women) If you look at his back catalog he's been consistantly working but considering the fact he created one of the most seminal fragrances of the last 30 years, maybe I wrongly expected to have had more hits from him? However, Parle Moi de Parfum is a really eclectic showcase of his talent. This being a prime example. Now I'm a sucker for a tropical, fruity notes in perfume but it's rare that they don't end up smelling like cheap shampoo, Chypre Mojo just about manages it though. The mango note is MASSIVE and grows from the initial spritz of bergamot and lighter weight citrus into a full grown, fleshy tropicana juice of a fragrance. I was really excited when the SA told me that it was mango and carnation but although clearly floral I didn't get a typical carnation experience from Chypre mojo. Carnation is pretty complex though and The overriding quality smell in here is almost one of resins, maybe labdanum? something in there driving it anyway. I absolutely loved it though, maybe more feminine leaning and totally bonkers really but if you enjoy a cocktail or a fruity smelling fun fragrance but with serious quality this could be for you?

The office smell of paradise A blast of sweet, juicy mango contrasted with a modern soapy chypre accord radiate off you like the sun upon first spray. Then as it dries it gets a solid woody and slightly earthy patchouli that helps fill out the edges of the fragrance and gives it some legs to stand on by itself. A must check out if you’re a huge mango or chypre fragrance fan, as combining the two here has created a lovely clean and refreshing yet tropical and delicious fragrance that would make for a very easy day-to-day, “dumb reach” kind of fragrance; or a great fragrance to layer with to add a wonderful clean and tropical vibe to any other fragrance in your collection (but this house in general is great for layering). Super office safe, and very reminiscent to the vibe of “ACNE studios” by Frederic Malle, as they both take fruity notes and make them fresh and supremely easy to wear. Not a fragrance I personally would pull for a lot, but extremely well done nonetheless. I cannot see many people disliking this. Very good longevity due to the patchouli backbone, with moderate projection throughout the duration. 8/10. Song vibe - L’équilibriste by L’Impératrice TLDR - Very solid clean mango/modern chypre scent with a surprisingly robust yet extremely ethereal performance due to a nice patchouli dry down.

A mango dominant fruitchouli (there’s also citrus, pear, apple, etc) that’s been completely aerated to make it buoyant and light and cheerful. All the notes have been diluted to the most sparkly and transparent versions of themselves, and this causes the perfume to lose all its density and float up into the sky, where it bobs around cheerfully. Carnation is used to add a little of the expected dryness and spice in, which it does, but like all the components of this including the patchouli, it remains a team player and never dominates the other notes. It seems a little weird to say the words “summer” and “fruitchouli” together but that’s what this is, and it’s perfect for that. For all its transparency it lasts a long time and has a pretty extensive sillage, which is impressive. It also smells very appealing in all its stages and would be easy to love for a lot of people.

- Love at first sniff. It put an instant smile on my face after an afternoon of sniffing some weird fragrances from this niche house. It smells fruity without being cloying. The mango is green but on the verge of ripening. There may be a touch of clove and something else giving the CARNATION effect, which I L❤️VE! I barely smell any patchouli which suits me just fine. This is delightful. It might be my favorite of the the entire line. I like this more than "Mile High" from the same house that has a similar vibe (MH is more syrupy sweet, hmmm and probably more "dirty"), but Chypre Mojo has captured me. EDIT: wearing again and smelling more patchouli this time. Seems like I will skip on the bottle but still lovely fragrance

To me this fragrance is a wonder Iam not sure I agree with the notes in the pyramid up there but it kinda feels tropical kinda? The wonder stars to fade away after an hour or two it settles down to something more subdued The opening is where the magic takes place and the effects keep disappearing by time until it stays very close to the skin or clothes which doesn’t give you the pleasure of enjoying it In my fragrance adventure I’ve tried a lot of scents that are marvellous but a scent I cannot smell properly is just not worth adding to my family anymore I’ve been compromising a little too much earlier in my journey but not anymore and this guy doesn’t deserve a place in the family

Genderless, modern, juicy, slightly spicy fragrance. Great longevity and moderately strong projection. I love all patchoulis, but this one is a friendly patchouli even non-patch lovers could get behind. As juicy as the mango and facets of the patchouli are, in the mid and dry down there is also a sandy, scratchy aspect to this fragrance that I really enjoy. I think it's yet other facets of the patchouli paired with the geranium, maybe the bergamot. Is that what's meant by "terpenic?" Makes me think of a warm beach day with fruity cocktails in the sand. This fragrance is a "like" for me, but a strong one. On my "like" scale of 1<5, this is a 5.

I feel like this is what I wanted from Vilhelm's Mango Skin. VMS is more of an indistinguishable sticky sweet fruitchouli to me, and I didn't actually get much mango from it. Chypre Mojo is sweet and herbal (and slightly medicinal, IMO), with a lot of depth. There is a syrupiness to CM that doesn't assault your nose but is slow-moving and warm. I still don't really get the aromatics of a photorealistic mango flesh here, but I still enjoy it. For the Chinese/Viet folks out there- this scent is nostalgic and reminds me of the herbal loquat honey throat syrup (Nin Jiom Pei Pa Ko) that I had to take when I was sick.

This is definitely a good perfume. Aromatic, clean, tad sweet. It's very pleasant and many people could pull this off, it's a crowd-pleaser. It's among my favorites from the brand, but probably not one I would have a full bottle of. With this in one wrist and Saffron Wood in the other, this feels a tiny bit less interesting than Saffron Wood. This feels too "shower gel"ish for me to be obsessed with it. Not sure yet though, maybe when I wear this all over for a full day it's gonna hit the top 3 for me.

chypre mojo definitely doesn't read as chypre to me, but it is a refreshingly juicy yet slightly smoked fruitchouli! it combines the balmy spiciness of carnation with a crisp and bitter bergamot, topped with a sweet mango. It reads very much to me like a lush fragrance- a more subtle patchouli bomb drenched in heady tropical fruit notes. sweet but definitely reminiscent of a different time period- i feel like stevie nicks would've worn this in the 70's.

A great modern, unisex fruitchouli. Every is smooth, transitions from one phase to another are nicely done, it definitely smells like quality. Once again, it smells really unisex to me. It also feels sophisticated and yet simple, uncomplicated. As much as I love this and think it's a true beauty, I don't vibe with it to the point I think it suits my own energy. But it's really beautiful, once again. I'd love smelling this on someone.

Chypre Mojo is a nice perfume but is in no stretch of the imagination a unisex fragrance - this is a very feminine, even ‘girly’ scent. The opening is very bright with an almost ‘bubblegum’ mango that smells like a lipbalm and lots of powdery carnation florals - an accord I’d love to smell on a woman but not on myself. Several hours later and the Juicy Fruit aspect disappears to leave a powdery patchouli that remains very feminine.

It kind of smells like opening a mango flavored seltzer drink and I like it . Fruity mango but not too ripe or too sweet or green. The patchouli comes off a bit oak moss like on my skin which I thought there must’ve been some. There’s a dryness throughout wear opposed to the sparkling quality in the opening. I quite enjoy this . The downvotes are probably because people wanted this to be like a mango smoothie or something

Agreeable and strong. Mango and patchouli are the dominant notes here, with bergamot to keep things juicy. I agree with the person below who said this is linear, but it's also very pretty, and if you like mango this would be a particularly fine fragrance to buy, particularly since this lasts longer and has more power than most other fruity chypres. Wearing this has put me in a particularly good mood all day!

One of Parle Moi’s greats, an unabashed bright and playful fruitchouli. After wearing it I passed the sample to my GF because I thought she might love it (and I wanted to smell it on her). She also really enjoyed, but never quite a “love” for either of us. I think the problem is that this is a scent at once both girly and retro, and its Tiger Beat-reading target demographic just no longer exists.

Chypre Mojo is not a chypre but a fine scent anyway. This is dried green mango, boosted by bitter flowers and woody camphor, introduced by a fruity sour opening. A relatively linear, unisex scent with average performance. Appealing, inoffensive, and easy to wear on most occasions. This is a scent for fans of mango and fruitchulis.

If I sniffed this blind I’m not sure the word “chypre” would come to mind, but what a fun, fruity, juicy warm weather fragrance that manages to be tropical without being too sweet. Has a nice subtly spicy undertone from the carnation and patchouli.

Wow, I wasn't expecting to like this but I do! Summery, but not beachy to me-- more like summertime in the hills somewhere, amidst the dry trees. Grown-up, modern, and complex.

It’s like if English pear 🍐 & freesia {x} Music Festival by Maison Margiela had a baby. It’s a very uncomplicated scent tho. The entirety of it is like a rose or red flower + patchouli scent. It does have a bit of the ambiguous red apple 🍎/ pear-ish heart tho. I love those notes but idk if it’s bcuz I expected something more unique with the mango 🥭, but I don’t think I care for this one too much. Maybe it’s the way that the patchouli part of this sticks out.

My review will be the outlier. Upon initial spray, Chypre Mojo 45 came across unnatural and powdery sweet, and I did not enjoy any facet of the opening. Finally the composition settled down and became more wearable after an hour, but still kind of an oddly synthetic fruitchuli. I’m not downvoting because it’s simply not my style. Happy to hit the “okay” option. My least favorite from my Discovery samples.

An enjoyable fruity -floral not really a chypre...at all. Again why doing a very commercial thing (even if well done) with this style from the 2000 when there is already so many in large distribution.

I pulled the trigger when I sampled it at Selfridges a couple months ago. I’m not sure why because it leant quite feminine but maybe I was looking for something new and hadn’t previously had any experience of the house but I was attracted to the mango note. I’d been sampling for over an hour and then began to get wafts of this mango note and of course after a gentle push from the saleswoman and because of the somewhat reasonable price of just under a £100, I gave in. Anyway the first day I decided to wear it, it felt extremely feminine, more so than that day I purchased it. This lasted for about 2 hours and then it dried down to a fruity floral base. I couldn’t wear this anymore so I passed it onto my wife ‘here you go darling I have present for you’. The next day she decides to wear Chypre Mojo and as she always does she decided to spray twice on her blouse and boy did it work for her. One of the best dry downs I have smelled on a ladies fragrance. The fresh fruity opening was still there but this time the florals shone brighter with a touch of patchouli. The big win was after an hour when this mango note turned into something really good. It was like dried mango and woods with a touch of smokiness. I got almost an Oud Immortel by Byredo sort of vibe where you would get sudden wafts of sweet woody goodness. I can’t put my finger on it because according to the note breakdown there are no woods but something is helping the mango in the dry down to create an absolute joyful experience. My wife told me that evening that she’d also picked up two unsolicited compliments from her work colleagues that day. There is something about this perfume. I only wish it worked for me. 8.5/10 on my wife but 4/10 on me. Longevity on clothes is excellent and sillage is incredible. This a real winner for women for the warmer months and maybe even for a man who is patient enough to wait for a really nice dry down even if it means smelling a tad girly. for me it’s most definitely not unisex but hey we can all wear what we like.

How fun and vacation'y this fragrance is...You can't go wrong, it just makes you want to smile and be happy. Guaranteed, the perfect pick me up after a difficult day spray this on and escape from whatever troubles you. Her beach bag filled to the brim with every detail for a luxurious day at the beach she walks along the shoreline at the most inviting tropical beach. She saunters past surfer after surfer in her barely-there white slip of a swimsuit complimenting her sun-kissed skin. The guys want to approach, but it's clear she is in her happy place. A blissfully solo day of beachfront self-indulgence.

Ooh this is so yummy! FRESH & CLEAN, with a cooling vibe- but far from boring. It's sweet mango & tropical - and also smells rich & round. There's something bitter too - like the best fruit that is sweet & tartly juicy at the same time. What a great summer scent - can almost feel sand. I'll bet it will be terrific in cooler weather, too. It's difficult to single out the carnation/patch notes. Could that be what is giving it some gravity? Sprayed on my clothes, I can smell it very well.

Perhaps it is my inexperience with more feminine fragrances that leads to my opinions. Although I can smell the listed ingredients if I pay attention, when I just get whiffs of this in the air I lose all the listed notes. All I smell is a pungent overly sweet rose, a note I really dislike. 3/10 for me. sorry. Edit: on second consideration I have been far too harsh. The mango note is sublime, the juiciest yellow mango with its skin included. 5/10

Initial opening is very fruity but ultimately it dries down to a very heavy patchouli. You have to like patchouli to like this scent! I learned the hard way that I get very overwhelmed with patchouli-dominant scents but if you like it, then this could be a very pleasant scent. The longevity is insane though. I’ve tried washing it off multiple times, including taking a shower, but this scent lasts and lasts and lasts.

Chypre Mojo is basically a chypre accord with mango playing the starring role. It makes me wonder... is "fruitchouli" just a word for a chypre I don't like? Chypre Mojo isn't BAD, but it's not great either, and certainly not worth its very high price tag. Smelled blindly, it could easily have been a short-lived flanker of Miss Dior or a quirky, discontinued release from Roberto Cavalli circa 2008.

It's going to sound weird but to me it smells like dry broom bushes and pine needles (the ones by the seaside) mix with dry earth and fresh air. Basically you're walking in a forest by the seaside in the south of France, it hasn't rain in weeks so the track is very dry, but it is a little breezy and you brought with you a tropical juice to drink.

Less chypre more like a fruity mango juice, still quite enjoyable but expected more earthiness considering the name lol.
