Saffron Wood 91

I had the privilege of sniffing this beauty at one of their shops in Paris back in 2019 before it was released. I fell in love with the metallic saffron and rose opening that mellows to an easy rose and then dries down to a beautiful woody leather. I must respectfully disagree with a previous reviewer in that I think this is blended masterfully. I love saffron and this is my favorite saffron scent in my collection. I was already a big fan of Parle Moi de Parfum, having acquired three of their fragrances, and this one sealed my devotion to the house.

Got a tester for this and keep going back to it. One of the few rose perfumes I very much enjoy. It seems people around me also enjoy it as I have gotten multiple compliments whenever I wear it. Metallic rose is definitely an apt description as previous reviews state, but mixed with a woody accord. Unisex. Usually lasts throughout the day.( I wash my hands a lot due to working with paint and charcoal but it stays on nonetheless.) Not SUPER long, but a good time. Definitely debating in saving up for a bottle.

Trying another sample I received in one of the PMdP Paris shops. I'm pretty much in agreement with what everyone below says. It starts off very cozy and woody cedar with some rose, then the rose really dominates and becomes quite metallic. I found this to start slightly more masculine, but the dry down was unisex. Different from other rose scents in my collection, and for this reason on top of really enjoying the opening hour, I might consider it full bottle worthy. I loved that I was able to smell this perfume on my skin for 9+ hours. Normally, either my skin eats perfume or I become anosmic to whatever I'm wearing after around 4 hours. I wish more of that sweet woody opening stuck around for the duration of the day, though. In the evening, still being able to smell this, I layered Eau Duelle on top and it was a lovely cozy combo for bedtime. On my "like" scale of 1<5, this is a 3.

Not a big fan of the dry, not so fresh, sawdusty opening, and I get the metal too, reminds me of a car repair shop. But once settled, it's a subtle wood scent I can imagine using lightly on antique furniture, and I'll probably will use the rest of my sample as a room scent. To me PMdP's perfumes smell like quality, even those I don't especially like, and I've noticed they often get much more appealing after the initial introduction. This too gets pretty pleasant after half an hour or so.

As a hater of rose, I did not expect to like this one bit when ordering the discovery kit from the brand. After all, it is OK. However, I agree with other reviewers: the rose is too metallic. Only after discovering a truly awesome rose scent recently I realized this one is actually not a very well-rounded take on rose. Would not clutter my shelves with this.

Heavy saffron and sour leather. Smells very metallic which I don't like at all. Definitely not for me. nfbw Drydown is better than the opening. Drydown smells like powdery saffron and woody notes. Kinda nice. -

Uh, too rosey. Came with samples and I really dislike it. Feels like they had some rose left from making other perfumes and had to stuck it somewhere. Don't want to sound rude, I am completely in love with some of the creations from this house, but this one is disappointing. Metallic rose, as others have said.

Astringent opening of saffron and a metallic rose. The saffron almost adds a band aid quality to the scent. The rose is airy but I'm not a big fan of metallic rose accords. The leather is barely there in my opinion, feels more like a nondescript woody base than leather. I have tried several from the brand and most of them are very easy to wear. Strangely enough this one is a bit harder to pull off. The band aid-y saffron and rose combo just doesn't do it for me. Unisex but I'd say it would appeal more to men. Performance is a bit better than others but still nothing to write home about. All in all a mediocre release suffering with not so great blending. 5/10

Opening: Metallic rose Dry down: just still a super metallic rose and nothing else. it's a shame i really liked it the first time i tried it in stores on my skin and was so close to buying a full bottle then and there but thankfully i chose to buy a couple samples off ebay first to test out and i do not like it at all anymore

I reallyyyyy love this apart from that whiny plasticky note. What a shame
