Totally White 126

As Totally White 126 lands on my skin, I immediately imagine how delicious a lilac-flavored vodka would be, perhaps blended with some St. Germain. A minute or so in, I am reminded of the more indolic, heady aroma of white lilacs as they bloom in profusion, among scores of other cultivars, at Arnold Arboretum in Boston. Then there is a wisteria accord that moves into the foreground to join the white lilacs. Wisteria is one of my favorite flowers and I've dreamed about growing them on my own grounds one day. Their smell is ethereal, reminiscent of jasmine, honeysuckle and concord grape, with mildly spicy clove undertones. Eventually here, the lilac and wisteria converge in a manner that elicits the firing of neurons in my brain that send the message: "I know this, I've smelled this before, and I love it." That sensation, that 'frisson,' is what captures me with this fragrance. I also get the sensation of mock orange here, Philadelphus coronarius, in fine-milled soap form, and adjacent lily of the valley. The imagery I have is that of misty May mornings; wearing one's crisp and starched Sunday best; cottontails, red squirrels and chipmunks; marveling at the ephemera of spring. One thing I will say is that it saddens me that some immediately reach for functional fragrances in their brain when smelling even what is to me the most true-to-life spring florals: comparing them to baby wipes, Febreze, and the like. Scent associations are quite personal, and I wouldn't berate someone for "not smelling something correctly," as there is no truth in "correctly smelling" something. However, I do often wonder if our sense of wonder and imagination that suspends us in youth is often sapped away as time calcifies mindsets. Maybe I should feel fortunate that I can derive the joy that I do in these perfumes, unlearning biases as best as I can and leaning into the fantasies and myths of life. Anyhow, Totally White 126 may very well be a delight for those who open themselves up to its concept.

Surprisingly, when I tested this frag on a paper strip in the boutique, I smelled ... nothing at all ! This never happened before, so intreaging. Sprayed on my skin, it revealed itself very nicely as a dry scent of lily (not of the valley) very similar to Cartier's Baiser Vole EdP. This intreaged me even more, as lily does not figure in this frag's composition. So I had no choice but to buy a flacon to get this straight. At home, I made an arm to arm confrontation between Totally White and Baiser Vole (which translates into stolen kiss) : During the opening, the Cartier frag is rounder and somewhat a bit sweeter, while "Totally White" is dry and actually quite discrete, though absolutely elegant and pure. But this doesn't last, as after a few min Wisteria kicks in, and Totally White takes the lead. The scent is powerfull and cleanly white floral, which makes it unisex, indeed. Both frags remain very close and similar, as the green notes of Baiser Vole slowly vanish. Drydown is very slow and longevity of Totally White easily exceeds 8h whereas the Cartier frag is gone after 6h. All in all, though these 2 frags are very similar but their composition is quite different, Totally White has a better intensity, elegance, and longevity, making it sort of a stolen french kiss : -) ... and a higher price tag. So I'd say its up to your purse if you like the pure dry white floral scent excluding jasmine & aldehydes.

I love this! This is fresh....this is elegant.....this is addictive. This fragrance makes me feel calm and ready for anything. It reminds me of En Passant with a lilac hint in the beginning, but later it reminds me more of Inflorescence- it takes on an almost lemony quality (probably the Hawthorne). It envelopes me like a cloud of scrumptiousness! I just want to smell myself all day long. This is signature worthy and even wedding appropriate. Just lovely without being sweet. This is more fresh and smooth and the aldehydes provide a slight classic quality while still being modern. I almost passed on this the first time and thought this was too melancholy for me......but then I realized that, what the heck....I WANT melancholy, and feeling and beauty! The second try had me at LOVE. I layered this with Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt....and let me tell you......a nice heavenly change with you want a clean, spirited wood. This is such a versatile fragrance all by itself however. More elegant and feminine on its own.

Oh this is SO pretty!! Lilac and wisteria are both scents close to my heart - as I had a wisteria vine in my yard, and lilac is the smell of my old home of Portland in spring - so anytime I discover a perfume with lilac at the forefront I'm super keen to try it. I'd long wanted to check out the Parle Moi de Parfum line, especially after watching an enthusiastic endorsement from Persolaise, and as luck would have it, there is a shop that stocks them where I live. Totally White won me over immediately - it was so fresh and clean smelling, and very lilac prominent - exactly what I needed in the midst of this long, dreary winter. It's rare I actually purchase a perfume on the spot after an initial test, but in this case I did, and I don't regret it! My partner already complimented (a rarity!) and it lasts longer than I'd anticipated. It's not strong, but noticeable, absolutely perfect as an everyday comfort scent. I can't wait to wear this in the spring! Beautiful work from Michel Almairec!!

Such a beautiful clean lily of the valley kind of a scent. Very light, fresh, clean, a bit crisp. I usually don’t like wisteria in fragrances because it can induce headache in me. But here it is very pleasant, I think the name suits this fragrance so well. It does smell like clean white feminine t-shirt with a little white lace detailing. I do really enjoy it. I think is a mature scent, the lily of the valley fragrances always makes me think of my mom and mom in law, since they absolutely love lily if the valley. Also it has nothing to do with En Passant, at least to my nose, May be May be a little at the begging of the spray of the en passant but en passant dries to wheat, dry grassy dry down which I didn’t like at all. This one just stays pretty clean floral. Totally white is closer to inflorescence which I have and love. Inflorescence is more youthful and modern take on lily of the valley scent.

After smelling wisteria flowers in my local park in spring, I immediately took to the internet to find a perfume that captures the scent. Thankfully I hit on gold with Totally White because it’s a realistic wisteria fragrance that conjures up the image of walking through an archway of wisteria plants, that morning freshness still in the air and not a soul around. It’s a simple perfume, inviting, calm and inoffensive. When the weather is beginning to warm up, this scent is light enough to put a spring in your step and leave an enchanting aroma trailing behind you. While a lot of designer floral fragrances fall victim to throwing a dozen different flower scents into the mix, creating a chemically mess, Parle Moi de Parfum avoids that wonderfully here. It knows exactly what it wants to be. Strictly a springtime scent in my opinion.

[AUG 2024] My favourite "aquatic" perfume. Definitely dream-like, ethereal with how soft, misty, gossamer it is to the nose. This is not a "traditional" aquatic but that dewy, juicy, wet wisteria and hawthorn combined brings a beautiful misty effect to the nose similar to having pool water or river water hit the back of your nostrils in all the right way. Okay performance and sillage but I still prefer this over Eau d'Issey because of its realism even its just a tad more expensive. Its comparsion to Miyake's Drop of Issey is not uncalled for, it really has that wet juicy spring rain droplets scent you might be looking for. However, because Fragrantica does not recognise it as an "aquatic", I may look somewhere else as an alternative. Very good perfume though.

There's something nostalgic about this that I can't quite put my finger on. Is it Dove Deodorant? This might sound like a bad thing, but I think this is a dupe for one of the flanker scents of the Dove brand deodorants--Fresh with the purple label. That's a very high compliment coming from me, though. I adore that scent and have actually tried to recreate it at home. This is pretty close. Very clean, very comforting. It's a perfect fresh shower scent. It's not a big, loud, perfumy chypre, but it is really good at being what it is. If you like freshies, shower scents, clean laundry scents, etc., this is your gal.

First spray of a decant and I immediately knew I would need a full bottle. As a couple other people here, this is pure dew covered lilac to my nose. We had massive lilac bushes at my childhood home, and this perfume smells like sticking my nose in the flower early in a spring morning waiting for the school bus. Absolutely stunning. Inspired by that, I tried layering Heretic's Nosferatu over top for a stronger dew/petrichor vibe and that's it. That is my soul in a fragrance. So dreamy, ethereal, chilly spring morning.

I love this perfume. It's like a delicate painting. Artful, ethereal, and so delicate. Just so so lovely. I wore it on a hot sunny day, and I felt so wistfully calm and cool. The day I wore this a lady came so close to me I nearly tripped, when I was standing in line to enquire at a desk. I am sure she was smelling me non stop. I take that as a compliment! I bought this directly from Parle Moi Parfum and now I need the large size bottle!

No powder, no twist, just spring flowers, some lily of the valley first (at least to my nose) and then a lot of lilac and syringa. It's simple, it smells natural, it is long lasting and creates quiet a cloud around you for a few hours. You feel as if you were standing in a park with lilac trees and bushes in bloom all around in a nice spring day. This is my simple spring floral scent I have been looking for. Very evocative and beautiful

Good fragrance to wear in environments where perfume is not allowed, because it is somewhere in between spring flowers (imagine a lot of lilies, wisteria, some black locust, syringa, hawthorn too) and the washing lotion scented with spring flowers. After few min I started to get more dewy honey, not heavy, the perfume is still light and not overly sweet, that's interesting 🤔

This one smells more like wisteria than lilac — and it’s honestly a spot-on wisteria recreation. That slightly “nail-polish-like” nuance, the viney green freshness... it feels exactly like those wisteria-covered railings you see in Europe, where in spring a whole wall turns into a purple waterfall. It carries that vivid, blooming spring energy with a quiet kind of romance.

This is beautiful and extremely feminine. Consistently gets me compliments. It is a very clean white floral scent. I don't get any soapiness, instead a gentle white musk and flowers. It has a non-offensive scent bubble that flows ahead of you. Given the number of perfumes I have, I continuously keep reaching out for this. Definitely FB worthy and at a good price point.

I find this one very similar to A drop d'Issey. I sense strong Lilac in here, but not as strong as in A drop d'Issey. This one definetly feels very floraly and fresh. Almost like clean but in a good way. I love to wear it all year round but i find it most suitable for spring and summer.

A realistic floral. I love how fresh and soapy it is. I'm not sure how close it is to the wisteria, but it's good regardless.

So floral. So lovely. This is what i wish my bedroom pillows and sheets could smell like! A beauty.

Totally White...Totally Light I can barely smell it but its a lilac scent [or wisteria which honestly smells the same] green and a bit cashmery It has also a realistic watery tea rose opening So natural and realistic i like it But it has a slight of smth dirty and warm in an off putting way Reminds me of a drop d’issey I absolutely prefer a drop d’issey over totally white since a drop d’issey smells much colder and stronger lasts and projects has a lot more notes enhances the lilac aroma so much and it’s the 1/4 price of this

White lilacs and cotton sheets drying on a clothes line. Totally White smells pretty believably of lilacs (or wisteria), but it has a clean laundry vibe, if that makes sense. It feels very clean and bright and you only smell the lilac flowers. They’re completely isolated from their surroundings aka there aren’t any earthy or green smells here, so this definitely isn’t a photorealistic wild garden type scent, if that’s what you’re looking for. Longevity and projection are moderate, so adequate for this type of scent IMO.
