Woody Perfecto 107

Woody perfecto is a scent I have had a strange relationship with. The first time I tested it I was rejected by the harsh introduction. I ignored it for a few months and one day I picked up the sample again and retried it. It was just wonderful! To be frank, I do not get the notes listed in the description clearly. It has a gourmand touch, almost a little citrusy, sweet/bitter, it must be the coffee note, or maybe coffe grounds. But it does not smell like coffee usually smells. The vetiver and leather notes do not remind me of how vetiver and leather smell in other scents, but the combination of these three notes makes the scent very woody, lumber/leatherly and dry. And that it what it is about: woody perfecto, a perfect woody smell. Love it!

Weak. Fleeting. Like you've drowned a pencil. And yet, I can't get enough of it. To me this is lime and yummy yummy woods, and so addictive--for about 30 minutes. Maybe the weaksauce making me want to pull the scent off my skin by the nostrils is what makes it so addictive, but what can you do? Sometimes you've got to make those bad choices because you just love it anyway. I'm being punished for saying it's drowned pencil water. I'm getting a full bottle. [EDIT] I got Yves Rocher's Cuir Vetiver instead. It smells 90% the same and equally intimate strength, for 1/5 the price

This one is in the same wheel house as Byredo Bal Afri, Hermes Vetiver tonka and atelier vetiver fatal. The difference is this one is more masculine in my opinion with the leather and it works better for me because when I sweat it doesnt turn on me like Byredo Bal Afri. This is def one my favorite scents atm and I get great longevity and projection on my skin.

WOW I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Name is exactly as it suggets woody note perfected. The performance is not that good but the smell is BEAUTIFUL! Super smoky and woody but not in a gross overpowering way. One of my fav fragrances of all time! Vetvier, woody and smokey! Love it!

I really liked this one, but the sillage is really weak which makes me hesitant about getting the full sized bottle. The longevity is pretty insane if sprayed on clothing though so that's a plus! I could still smell it the next day.

Wonderful vetiver-leather scent. I don't get any coffee from it. I love vetiver, so this is a scent I enjoy.

A 'complete' wood type of scent. Woody Perfecto has a strange opening which smells quite airy to me, with a dark nose feel which creates a black background. Vetiver grows in intensity, eventually becoming quite a dry, roasted, woody vetiver presentation. The woodiness of the scent grows stronger with each passing minute, eventually becoming quite a holistic wood which proves difficult for me to identify. This is smoking tinder. This is a dry piece of scrap leather. This is sawn timber at the end of summer. The smell is natural, moderately projecting, with limited longevity on my skin. Woody Perfecto is a simple but elegant vetiver scent. More wearable than other 'complete' woods such as Bowmakers. It will delight vetiver fans, but appeal is limited due to the dominance of this grass.

woody perfecto is a perfectly unisex, incense-y vetiver. i didn't detect any coffee whatsoever, but the leather is definitely there. longevity is pretty poor, especially when compared to parle moi's other creations, but this does offer a nice, cozy, forest-like vibe when you're searching for something light and inoffensive. i see what others have mentioned about the similarity to molecule 01, but i feel that this one is a bit more frankincense and myrrh- like the stuff they swing around at catholic church. for a very similar scent, i'd recommend basilica by milano fragranze.

Despite some mixed reviews, I'd say this is still a great scent and if it projected more (and lasted longer), I'd be inclined to give it a 'love' but because the formula is kind of weak, it just gets a 'like'. Woody Perfecto is a really comfortable, masculine fragrance that straddles the line beautifully between city and country. I wish the coffee top notes would last longer, but the combo of Vetiver and leather really work well together and keeps me smelling my wrist for the couple of hours that it lasts. Worth a blind buy if you can find it for a decent price.

Woody Prefecto is a generic, slightly sweet woody vetiver. A clean, fresh and pleasant scent that will offend no one. So it makes it a safe scent and a great office fragrance. I get moderate longevity, but WP is very much a skin scent. I can wear this in formal or casual attire. I do get the similarities to Hermessence Vetiver Tonka. I also added Cuir Vetiver to the similar list. Overall, WP is not a bad scent. But it is not groundbreaking. IMO you are better off buying a bottle of Cuir Vetiver instead. It is very similar and a fraction of the cost.

Vetiver and Leather. It's doesn't smell coffee, but i do detect it as a bridge between the vetiver and leather to balance it out. It's very soft and subtle and an instant skin scent on my skin with 2 sprays. But it might be something every collection needs. Those days you don't feel like annoying people around you with a fragrance, but wants to smell presentable. It's like a masculine aura around you that stays in your personal space. Definitely try this. Signature scent worthy for sure.

A perfectly woody, masculine fragrance. I definitely notice the coffee note, especially in the dry down. To me I immediately get reminded New Haarlem- BN9, but without the thick, dense maple syrup sweetness. The vertiver is not too much, which I like. A dominant veitver can be a hit or a miss with me. Very nice and easy to wear. Spring, Fall, and Winter are your times to wears this. I think this is office safe, but if you over spray it may be too much.

I love the initial opening which smells of wood, smoky, and something quite balsamic. It doesn’t quite fill my nostrils with aroma, staying in a narrow, overlapping field of scent. It is very sexy though and would work well at a rock show. The silage is weak and longevity is atrocious. Needs like 5-6 sprays to last 2 hours, and even that may be generous estimates. Needs a much better fixer for a revision.

I'm going to go ahead and agree with the reviewer above who called this one an expensive disappearing act. It starts off with a smoky kind of burnt sugar smell, which I presume is their "coffee" scent. That's gone in about half an hour, replaced by a faint dark vetiver without any character. Disappointing, because from the notes it sounds amazing.

A clone or inspiration let’s say of vetiver tonka by Hermes It smells nice although weak I enjoyed it for a little while but surely it doesn’t come close to the quality of both vetiver tonka and bal dafric And I already have both fragrances that I mentioned earlier so this one is not necessary

This is nice... it’s powerful without an obnoxious sillage and lasts most of the day; it has good concentration - 20% - and reminds me very much of a softer, almost gourmand version of CDG’s Wonderwood. However, PMdP’s Cedar Woodpecker is a superior woody fragrance in every way.

Sort of a sweet woodsy? Maybe a coffee bookshop kind of vibe. Or something to wear at the country club. Masculine but not in a brash kind of way. Overall it's a pretty nice sent. Performance is very so-so. Maybe something to wear when you want to be more subtle.

About as straightforward as the simple note structure suggests. Bal d’Afrique-like attractive vetiver, and a similarly quick dry-down to little projection. Still nice, worth a try if the longevity suits you.

It only opens like Vetiver Tonka (Don't be fooled!) then turns into a thin & sharp cypriol-like green woody scent.

Opens with a sour citrus that immediately gives way to cedar and pleasant herbal alcohol. A little bit of soap somewhere in the background as well. This quickly fades into faint pencil-shavingy Iso E Super. I don't get coffee at all. This is definitely one of those fragrances where you'll have to spray a little extra. Something a lot of niche brands have in common, sadly. I'd say go with Escentric 01 by Escentric Molecules instead if you want something similar but with slightly better longevity. The latter is also a better alternative for layering due to its more neutral approach. 5 out of 10 molecules. Would be a solid 7 with better longevity.

Someone below said it smells “like you’ve drowned a pencil.” Ha Ha. That is a perfect description. Sometimes, I love this site. The whole note combo comes off like a smothered cedar. Yet, it is nice to smell especially close up on skin with its roasted depth from the vetiver and coffee. It has a very faint light and sweet citrus in the background like a lemony orange sugar water. I think that’s why we keep going back to smell it. Easy to wear. Nonoffensive. Much easier to pick up outside in a breeze than sitting indoors.

Smells like a very simple composition à la Terre d'Hermès around vetiver, but a lot of aromachemicals and again this vibe/style directly from the 90's. I don't catch the point to do this kind of comercial stuff as an independent perfumer.

Kind of a nothing fragrance. Short lived and rather forgettable. A bit musky and not at all woody. Doesn't smell bad but doesn't really invoke anything special. Not sure what the point is.

Woody Perfecto has the same rich vetiver base as Bal D’Afrique (my signature scent 2015-18) but leans much more classical masculine, linear and synthetic. It was not for me.

To me its a woody slightly spiced scent. I dont get the coffee at all. A simple fragrance and not worth the niche price tag at all.

A leather briefcase of a 90’s businessmann.

My first impression: a designer fragrance with a weak coffee note, disappearing in the first 10 minutes. There is no wood note, and the vetiver doesn’t feel natural. I have no desire to wear this scent again. Woody Perfecto is not perfect, with sub par performance at a high price. Underwhelming and easily forgettable.

I'm not sure why but this smells aquatic on my skin and card. nfbw at all for me. -

For me, this is a great dirty vetiver/leather scent, with a hint of coffee in the background. Not fresh coffee, but the smell of an unwashed coffee cup where the remnants of the coffee have dried on. The scent is very wearable, with good lasting power, but fairly low projection. It's one of those scents that disappears for a while but then will pop back up a let you know it's still there, doing it's thing. I don't find it to be a generic vetiver at all, but rather rich and deep. There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding about the name, I originally thought it was about the cigar, but that didn't make sense as there's no tobacco. When I purchased a full bottle, I asked Benjamin Almairac about the name. It's from a reproduction of a classic biker style jacket. The scent itself meant to be a modern take on Cuir de Russie. Knowing that, I think they pretty well nailed it with this one.

I'm struggling with this perfect mentioning. Here are a list of things that are not perfect with this fragrance: Longevity, Sillage, Price, and the Wood. I don't know if you guys out there are keeping tallies but i'd say the scoreboard reads 0-4. Woody Perfecto isn't fooling anyone unless you suffer from hyposmia. If Woody Perfecto was sex, it would be a quickie. This is a fragrance led by a baby-faced coffee note that you may or may not recognize due to the aromatic vibe. Followed by the lethargy is probably the worst vetiver usage in fragrance history. I don't know what this is supposed to be. I've smelled spikelets with more umph than this passive vetiver...and the leather...there is no leather. A 27min fragrance.

Hmmm. My sample smells very similar to Encounter by Calvin Klein, an inexpensive boozy scent with wood essence (an inexpensive but pleasant oud). No coffee either. I like Encounter and own a bottle. But it's not niche, and surely not worth these prices. Neither is Woody Perfecto. I can't tell whether that's a presumptuous name or one that's meant to be humorous. This would be a good workaday scent, but ... "niche?" And for this amount of money? Please. Perhaps my nose isn't as sophisticated as some others, so this may be worth a try for those who may pick up on something here that justifies the price. For me: ain't no way.

Woody Perfecto is basically a very clean and fresh vetyver scent which somehow reminds me of Vetiver Tonka by Hermes. Extremely elegant, clean and transparent, rather linear with a beautufil green bergamot note at the beginning. I can't smell coffee here so if it is here it must have been mixed very well. Woody Perfecto has nice projection during first 2 hours than it turns to medium and even lower. It has rather short sillage and stays on my skin more-less 6 hours. All in all very nicely done modern take on vetiver. However, I would prefer it to has at least more staying power.

A nice aromatic woody scent with some coffee This combination is odd and perhaps the accord could be refined, but I don't get weird food smells or anything like pizza. For those who like versace the dreamer this is probably the closest thing to a niche version you will get and this is less sweet and more masculine. An alright fragrance for me, but nothing I would go out and buy
