Decadence

I like to discover not so popular scents. This one is a hidden gem. Very brave and unusual mix of floral and fruity notes for a male scent. But it works. Decadence is spiced up with anise which makes it fresh, too. Mimose are very prominent in it undertoned with peony and a surprise, with strawberry. Musk is clean, not too sweet, well blends other notes .Cherry is pale enough not to be messy and sour, just an interesting shade in the drydown. Lasting power is so-so, the sillage is around the average but if you spray on more you can enjoy it longer. A real compliment getter in any season but works better in warmer weather. I love this one. The tacky necklace is funny on a very simple bottle :) The only con is : unavailable in Europe ( I purchased from U.S.)

Semisweet strawberry and spicy anise. Green, slight bitter herbal. Almost a nutty almond note. Musky floral. Dry down is powdery. It's a delicate but balanced and structured fragrance. It's quite appealing. Unfortunately, I can't find the deals that reviewers below are commenting on. For $15 or 20, I'd sure be tempted.

Spicy, warm open, then a dry cool, slightly menthol effect. Indistinct notes. Turns to powder. I got the sample for the picture of Marlene Dietrich.

Play-Doh, wormwood, filthy toddler in the bathtub notes. I do not like this.

Decadence looks so unusual for a men's fragrance! Strawberry? Cherry? Peony? Mimosa? Much to my disappointment, Decandence isn't a unique, fruity-floral for men. It opens with a sweet, green and floral blast. Initially, I thought to myself, "This is WAYYYY TOO FEMININE!" However, within seconds, the wormwood takes over along with a very spicy black pepper note. Towards the heart notes, something reminds me of Body Kouros just without the vanilla-like sweetness. The dry-down is very much Body Kouros without any sweetness. Decadence is very clean, green, and very much wearable by men. There is nothing feminine or girly about this fragrance. I feel like the notes were more of an inside perfumer joke. If you enjoy Body Kouros but get headaches from its potentcy or you are turned off my Body Kouros' sweetness, check this cheapie out! It can be bought and shipped for under $15. Also, the "necklace bling" is detachable. ;)

I bought a bottle about 10 years ago and found it to be cloying, but my sensitivity has been low for quite a while now (except to certain aroma chemicals) so I thought I'd give it another chance. This time I get mostly anisic woodiness. I can detect a bit of the violet, but while there is a fruitiness I can't say the strawberry/cherry is distinct to me. And I don't get the mimosa or peony at all. There is some white musk and I'd guess a bit of amber. It gets a little powdery over time but not too much. I wouldn't be surprised if the note list was supposed to be cherry wood rather than cherry but in any case this is one of those old "super cheapos" that is now clearly superior to so many niche "chemical nightmares." I'd call it unisex and would certainly wear it again, though I have several anisic and/or wormwood scents. Using a few sprays resulted in good projection and very good longevity.

After maturing for a few years this smells exactly like Armand Basi Homme to me. Agree with the comment below, this makes this very much like a “light touch” version of Body Kouros. You can probably get this for cheaper than the Armand Basi. As a huge fan of anis and wormwood notes, I tossed this in as a dirt-cheap throw-in on an order a long time ago and didn't initially care for it too much. It smelled much more like a sweet floral strawberry accord and a tart acidic green note - so much so I was expecting tomato leaf to be a note when first opened. I was going through some boxes to clear room recently and came upon this one again. It would appear this is one that develops to a very surprising degree with age, which is something I'd never expect from such a bargain bin scent.

Came back 5 years later to advise this is definitely a non-sweet Body Kouros / KC Thermal Reaction. Heavy anise/black licorice spice and fresh spicy. I was going through my fragrances and sprayed the back of my hand one time... this thing has some SERIOUS throw. Not cheap or cloying. Some weird sicko is trying to sell this on eBay for $50+. I absolutely advise against buy this for more than $20. There's just so many better cheapies out there. And if you want one in the vain of Decadence, go with KC Thermal Reaction.
