Black Agent

Strong woody/peppery quality at first, then it recedes and it's more of a blend, but you get a sense of several of the notes individually and it doesn't smell synthetic. Unlike some other reviewers, I don't get Bvlgari Black (vanilla and rubber tire), nor Fan Di Fendi Assoluto, nor Gucci Pour Homme 1, nor a tea note. Even the rose is barely noticeable, but the tuberose does a good job of imparting a unique quality without going into that suntan lotion direction I dislike. I used two full sprays to the chest and kept my shirt open; the projection drops off a lot after a short while but the longevity seems at least good (I'll update if that changes). For about $15 for 100 ml NIB, I'd say it won't be easy to do better if this is the kind of composition you seek. Note that I haven't tried Bvlgari Man in Black, but I have tried the Oriental flanker, and that one is woodier/spicier and has considerably stronger projection (less floral too). UPDATE: The weakness of this scent is its weakness. After no more than perhaps two hours there is barely anything, though what remains does smell good. So, since I do like the scent, I think I can just go ahead and continue to spray every couple hours, but it is disappointing that they would make such a weak scent - why not just add a bit more tonka or some other cheap base note? I might also layer this with Bvlgari Man in Black Oriental Edition and see what that's like.

Similar to Gucci Homme 1 2003 but a bit darker, Bentley Absolute with less Oud and Man in Black with a bit of Oud. Its not far from those three fragrances and to be in the middle of them, it surely is a a very nice place to be. It's way underrated and keeps a very low price. Today I bought my 3d bottle for €15.00. Hiper recommended!

I love this scent!!!I got many compliments in the past,the only letdown that is not so strong,but who cares,it is for close encounters.........(ok i know that it is a really colse smell to Bvlgari Man in Black,but for 1/6 of the price,it is wonderful)Smoke,a very tamed rose,a touch of sweet and some earthiness=Heaven for my senses!!

Incredible nice perfume. Dark deep , warm, not too sweet , intense, but diffusses not too laud. Incenses, oud, amber, labdanum, vetiver create an elegant chord. Soft sweetness comes from cloves, rose and tonka beens and combines with a smoky bitter oud, cedar wood ...for me close to Ralph Laurent POLO SUPREME OUD🍁

On top of the tea notes, I also detect some rubber, which reminds me a little of Bvlgari Black. This latter note is most prominent in the first hour. A fine fragrance worth trying out in its own right.

How is it that cedar is not among the listed notes here? And yet clove is listed? Either something doesn't add up or there's some serious mojo going on in this bottle. That said, I find the comparisons with GPH1/Bentley Absolute on point, if not totally spot on. I would also include Montana Graphite in the same discussion. Dry, cedar-forward and on the mature side. Where Black Agent differs is in its subtlety. It opens with a brighter citrus/vetiver -- akin to Guerlain Vetiver on top -- that helps it avoid taking on a dry woody austerity that can sometimes come across as pickle juice (I'm talking to you, Graphite), or stuffy and powdery (Bentley). Instead, that hint of fruitiness works wonders in providing just enough space to really bring out the full dimensionality of its dominant woody notes, where the vetiver seems to merge with incense and clove into a tobacco-like accord as found in Bvlgari Man in Black. Likewise, the warmed rose note in the heart adds a subtle evolution I don't pick up in the others mentioned. Where they are wood on top of wood, Black Agent is wood accented with layers of lovely supporting notes. Instant solid like for me. I might not see too many opportunities to wear this straight up, but I think it would be a perfect base layer to complement a sweeter scent like Zadig & Voltaire's This is Him or (in a bit of olfactory irony) Gucci Pour Homme II. Did I mention this is also dirt cheap? If Bentley Absolute is the nearest thing to the legendary Gucci Pour Homme I, then this is even better, and at about half the price. Go get some, already!

What's not to like about it? I certainly don't get any "rubber" smell that I have seen others say. Its pretty much like Bvlgari Man in Black. I don't think it lasts as long as the BVLGARI and it doesn't have the projection or sillage of it. But, I sometimes want to change up later in the day so the moderate longevity this has is fine with me. Otherwise its a darn good scent. Lasts a good 7 hours and many more after as a close skin scent. Not too loud and not too soft. Its right in the sweet spot.

It's a really soft Bvlgari MIB with a very little hint of rose. The opening is a bit like spicebomb with that strong pink pepper. The drydown is mostly incense, clove and a bit of tonka. It's not unique since it's 70% smells the same as MIB, but it has it's own scent in the drydown. For a fall fragrance, this performs really awful. Last 5 hours with only 1 hour of projection. Scent: 8/10 Sillage: 5/10 Longevity: 6/10 Creativity: 6/10

I have to say the scent is absolutely nice. It's warm, spicy, dark and cozy. But unfortunately the scent doesn't last long. Even when trigger happy you would have to respray. Best on clothing. Nevertheless it is a very nice scent and i would be happy to spend money on a EDP version of this fragrance.

If you’re obese, burn twenty incense sticks a day and make your living selling Persian rugs you may be interested in this if you can get past the strange rubber smell.

Nice scent but, unfortunately it doesn't last too long nor does it project loud enough so if you want compliments you'll have to go heavier on the sprays. 5/10

I have had this fragrance for about 4 years, used rarely and in small quantities, but yesterday evening I used it spraying a little more, roughly 6 spritzes in the neck area. Its initial smell, which I feel is too harsh and synthetic, turned after an hour into something soft and pleasant. I don't know if it has a big sillage, but a person around me noticed it (I couldn't feel it on myself) in a positive way. Until last evening, because I was using it with only about 2 sprays, I don't think I gave it the opportunity to show its value after drying, so it didn't make me fall on my back - no, defo I'm not saying it's a ''bijou'' - but I suggest more spritzes and I think that you can enjoy it only after its stifling smell disappears. If you are not dying on the first 20 minutes... Important: after this night, in this morning lying on my bed (so, at least 12 hours have passed), I can still smell it from the chest area, so its longevity might not be so bad.

Sorry, I can't get past the rubber smell in order to enjoy the other notes. It smells like what you would expect the rubberized bottle itself to smell like. After an hour or so the scent is very pleasing as the rubber subsides but it is so incredibly faint that the fragrance is utterly useless. A fragrance should be "fragrant", right ? It is so incredibly weak that it is pointless.

An underrated fragrance. Mainly, insence and warm spices, then a hint of tenderness due to the tonka bean and musk. Has a huge similarity with Bentley Absolute and Bvlgari MIB (which I both have), but less sharp in the dry down (my favorate part of this scent). Excellent for cold times especially at night, very masculin and classy. Short life, weak projection, but well you can have 100 ml for pennies. Highly recommanded for unexpensive experience. I have got to say this is just like a dark tea fragrance and I for one am disappointed.Looking at the notes I was hoping for a frag with a kick but all I get is this soft tea smell fused with tonka. I was hoping to be wowed but just got let down.Suffice to say,I bought this blind and goodness me,it did not cost much or else I will be kicking myself.All the same will do nicely as a gift for someone later.

Makes me feel I'm the owner of a top end car sales outlet. I'm standing on the forecourt surveying my fleet; the smell of the tyres mingling with expensive tobacco and the faint whiff of leather that lingers about the place. A couple of kids saunter past and I flip them a shilling to go buy themselves a sherbert fountain. 12.99? Bargainous.

This is sexy. Definitely get the pepper, bergamot/vetiver, tonka & incense. There’s also something wonderfully woody (cedar?) and maybe even leather/tobacco. Agree w all the “reminds me of..” scents noted and will also add Oscar for Men, which is bottled thirst & also available at bargain prices.
