Paul Smith Extreme Woman

Paul Smith Woman Extreme Feels like an early-2000s watercolor—bright pigments allowed to touch, bleed and mingle without ever becoming heavy. The opening washes across the skin in blackcurrant-laced green tea, sharpened by bergamot and mandarin. The fruit is tart rather than sugary, the citrus soft and translucent, giving the whole opening that wonderfully clean, green brightness characteristic of its era. Then the colors soften. Cassia, freesia and lily-of-the-valley form a delicate green-and-white floral heart, hugged by a veil of musk. Nothing becomes particularly floral or particularly musky; they simply blur into one another like watercolor on damp paper. And underneath, the woods appear—cedar, vetiver and sandalwood, with sweet patchouli and sheer amber drifting between them. They give the fragrance shape without weighing it down: watercolor woods rather than polished timber. Paul Smith Extreme is light, but never absent. Its sillage has an airy presence that seems to hover around the wearer rather like a silk wrap. Fresh without being aquatic. Green without becoming grassy. Woody without becoming dry. Sweet without becoming gourmand. A beautifully easy fragrance for spring, summer and those first warm-gold days of early autumn. And perhaps its greatest charm is right there in the bottle: a fragrance composed not in blocks of color, but in reflective splashes.

I've seen Paul Smith Extreme woman in stores for a while, I almost bought a bottle last year but opted for Ralph Lauren Ralph instead. Well, I decided to redeem my Boots advantage card points for something and decided I would FINALLY buy this. This perfume opens with quite a liquorice/peppery note, it sort of reminds me a bit of clean skin in hot weather at the beach, once the initial blast settles down, it becomes a soft, peppery, musky scent, very clean and quite fresh and unique. It wears quite well on me, lasting for roughly 6-ish hours. Its unobtrusive and pretty "safe", perfect in my opinion for year round wear and day to day office wear, I've already ordered a large 100ml bottle! In short, this is a wonderful hidden gem on the high street, its unique and refreshing :) EDIT: I fear this may be being discontinued :(

I ran out of this recently, and it seems very scarce now , which is a shame , it was still available in m at discount shops until quite recently. It's an unusual and quirky fragrance. What I really don't understand is all the people saying it's weak/barely there .... What !!??.... This was a BEAST MODE on me. I had to use It very lightly as the smell wasn't everyone's cup.of tea. Even the dodgy lotion on its own gave me a good strong scent cloud. It's hard to describe but it starts very pepper 'y , Blaxk.Pepper, not the pink kind.... Then comes in violet leaf and wood , with a deep dark base. Loved it. Very different to the majority of women's frags avail now. I know that many of the younger crowd would be horrified by this , they would class it as "too masculine*. Great frag for a headstrong woman for sure.

Oooh , mixed reviews for this one i see !! I like it . Absolutely not for spring or summer , but a warming , woodsy , spicy warming winter scent. I find this very comforting in the cold months. The super charged Pepper blast of an opening really warms you up ! After that it calms down to a powdery , softly spiced scent. I was interested top read that there's no pepper in the notes! I'm just learning about perfume/notes/ect , so its good to know that its the Cassia that gives the peppery effect. ( thanks to Ouch!) With the cold , blustery weather we are having , i have just purchased a bottle on eBay :)

Well, this is a very unique scent ,to me. It has a beautiful pleasant punch of brightness at the start. Then dries into a.more mellow and comforting scent. I would not have guessed from seeing the notes ,that it would be such a unique powerhouse alas the nose created an olfactory Frankenstein of a perfume. Perfect from start to finish. This is a top 10 for life for me. I tend to.love a little from every category of scent and this one is not gourmand, it's more a mix of floral, citrus, musk, maybe fruity but not much.

If I wear this perfume, I feel refreshed =) The top might be too greenish or spicy for some people, but it is getting milder later on. Honestly, when I tried it at the first time, I thought it smells like grass lol The last is a little bit sweet, but not too sweet. So, I feel it is kind of unisex even though it is named Paul Smith Extreme Women. Spicy with a little bit sweet, really cool.

prime note molto pepate e altrettanto evanescenti che si assestano su un cuore verde/erboso e leggermente fiorito. l'accordo di fondo è speziato e lievemente legnoso, a base di sandalo. un piccolo gioiello quasi unisex con persistenza media. non è un profumo invasivo tantomeno "estremo" come recita il nome, adattissimo ai primi caldi. discreto, leggero, timido epperò bello.

I love this perfume ...for me I gèt blackcurrent and citrus leading Into floral patchouli and lily of the valley. After a few hours I still get faint floral notes but with a delicate sweet woody spice. I always get compliments on this. Its my go to comfort perfume. I think this very much reacts with your skin as on other people I have found it awful!

I havent owned this perfume, but i have tried it several times. My boyfriend absolutely hates it, the only thing keeping me from buying it, but I am in love with it! To me it smells like black liquorice and somehow also reminds me of tanning lotion, so i definately connotaate this smell with summer, and it surprised me that others didnt!

I bought this for my wife and it's my all-time favorite. Grassy and peppery with a wonderful woody base it has a soft but elegant Sillage that drives me crazy. I love it b/c it's unique and you don't smell it everywhere like Chance or Allure

First time EVER-and I'm over 40- I get "God you smell good"- compliments for two persons in same day. And I get none compliments last two years...we don't do it there in Finland:) On my skin Extreme is soft, warm, woody and clean. Love it!

This is one of my favourite fragrances. I love the sharp peppery opening and how beautifully it changes afterwards to become warm, soft and truly sublime.. Actually the name "extreme" does not really suit this perfume.

I love it, it is distinctive from the fuity florals out there, charming, fresh,with a touch of femininity, on me- even a bit oriental...

This is a lovely woody scent quite suitable for office wear. Has similar vibe to La Lune D$G.

Ooh, this is interesting to me! It starts of with a definite green tea note, with a fruity nuance. Then I get a slight muskiness and the patchouli and amber really start to warm it up. The woody notes give it that Scandinavian resort with all the natural wood simplistic furniture kind of feel to me! Really unique. It don’t find this to be a bombastic scent so I do see how some are mystified by the name Extreme. I, too, expected a deep sultry fruity floral scent. This is not. However, if you look past the name, it is quite a lovely scent! I would even consider this a unisex scent. Earthy and woody, spa like. This would be absolutely perfect for early fall, but it’s perfectly acceptable for year round. I also think this would layer very well with those scents that you have that may be too fruity or heavy on the florals to give it a nice earthy base. I feel like it could be a distant cousin of Santal 33. I enjoy this!

I first bought this perfume on 2016 when i walk around Daikanyama and found Paul Smith shop. The 2nd floor are perfume area and at that time the room smells so good. The staff said that its the smell of Extreme Woman. I tried this perfume on my skin and it blends so well. Before I wear Tommy Hilfigher Dreaming but its discontinue so then i find another new perfume. This perfume has soft powdery smell of Fressia, and Lily. The smell is so elegance. Its mix of fressia, lily, wood, green tea, blends really good. The cedar smell is so subtle and soft. Usually woody or cedar perfume has too masculin fragrance but this one is subtle. I often met someone randomly ask my perfume when i wear this one. It means that this perfume smells really wonderful. This smells will be good in summer but i also wear it in summer to autumn season! I also think this perfume reminds me of Korres "Aegean Bronze" that I admire so much.

At first peppery but after an hour it passes to become very smooth and soft. It surrounds you like a light, airy cloud of spices and flowers with a small amount of wood. You just want to inhale it deeply! I guess that it ́s a perfect scent to wear at work. This fragrance make the same pleasant impact on me as Moschino Couture and Omnia Bvlgari, the same spicy, fluffy airiness. I like this a lot too! (Update September 13 : The sprayfunction doesn ́t work anymore although the bottle was handled with care,arrrgh)

I just picked this up really cheaply. This isn't something I see regularly in Australia so for $10 for 100ml I thought I'd give it a go. I really like it. It's warm woodsy and quite pretty. Smells soft and feminine with a tiny bit of pepper in there. Not sure about longevity yet as I've only just applied but all in all I'm extremely happy with my purchase. It does remind me a little of FCUK Late Night For Her. It's the soft pretty woodsy feel.

The smell is nice, at first it's a little spicy and somewhat lacquered (but not too much), I guess that's the work of cassia combined with bergamot and blackcurrant? then I smell mainly apricot. In the end it gets sweet-sour, I can't smell any wood. It's good to wear in the springtime or in summer. It could be made of better quality ingredients but wears nicely. Kenzo-like style. I really like it.

Green scents is always a big no for me, until now. It is green but lacks the bitterness that normally always ruins it for me. Instead it is spicy, woody, sweet and tart. A strange combination but it works out great for me. Might turn into a love.

This one is perfect for everyday use, every occasion. Makes me feel refreshed, but somehow warm at the same time ;). And the bottle is pure color and fun, a pleasure to watch.

Thanks to Sumukorento who introduce me to this fragrance. After this experience, when I was almost sure to order it online without testing but on basis of reviews here, I am afraid to buy blind online again. To me is totally masculin scent, any feminin warmness and charm. Only Casia and cedar, I smell unfortunately any freesia, which I love and any apricot, only woods and wet leaves- No, nothing for me here. Edit: sorry for lovers, but it reminds me, now I know, to mens aftershave.

Extreme? So extremely soft that it's all but imperceptible, is more like it! Very light green/citrusy/floral/watery scent, lightly rested upon a vague and wimpy cedar/amber/vetiver base. I'm glad I opted for a couple sample vials rather than a full bottle of Paul Smith Extreme woman (even if it was at bargain bin prices.) Totally disappointing after the lovely, whimsical Paul Smith Rose; which I immediately purchased a full bottle of. Color me extremely disappointed 😞 Mr. Smith.

I tried this today having received a small bottle of it. I must say it doesn't stand shoulder to shoulder with any of the greats or even the goods. I found it sweet and synthetic, with so many different notes going on, it's as if this perfume wanted to please everyone at the same time. It's too sweet, and there's too much going on, and it's just... well, I won't be buying a full sized bottle that's for sure.

Really weak and watery nothingness on me. I get a thin, thready slightly herbal and green grass note initially that lasts only a few minutes, and then disappears very quickly leaving just a vague soapiness. Disappointing.

Although not in the ingredients the only thing i smell is plain vanilla. Not my cup of tea and a very boring scent if you smell only one ingredient at least on my skin it does.

I like some Paul Smith scents very much, but then again there are some I don't like at all. This is one of the latter.

I tested this out of curiosity for the brand. Paul Smith Rose is my favourite ever daytime rose that I have been wearing for years when it occurred to me I had never ever tried any other scents from this house. This one though, is the polar opposite of Rose. I get cumin, hay, and wet cardboard. When I smell it I can taste it at the back of my mouth. It's very masculine. A boss woman would wear this, but the kind who takes her middle management job far too seriously and struggles to relax. She's been wearing this scent for years, in fact it's the only one she owns. She just wants to get *ish done and has no time to enjoy life. Or to find herself a better perfume.

This is one spicy scent!! The cassia is the main culprit for this, but it smells like pepper! The tea and citrus fruits bring a freshness to the opening but the Cassia is staying put during the first 20 mins of wearing this & there's an almost overwhelming scent of pepper. . It's a nice interesting combination but it feels slightly masculine. It's a bit too spicy in the wet stages if your looking for a sexy feminine perfume. I suppose this is why it's called "Extreme". I can feel the feminine side of this starting to emerge as it dries, there's a kinda of powderyness that's also apparent in the original Paul Smith perfume. I own that one also and it's gorgeous!! This is more feisty version on that. More kick, more punch but with a feminine background. I woudl say if you are a bit concerned when you first spray this, give it a chance to warm up on the skin because the dry stage (although still quite unusual and spicy) is much more pleasant. The powder element is softening the perfume somewhat and it smells very clean. Glad I got this, it's interesting and slightly different. It's not the longest lasting scent in the world however, it's very affordable.

It isn't listed as a note, but I swear there is licorice root in here! I smell it from the very start. I'm revisiting this scent after many years, so it is possible my bottle has gone off - it is a cheap thrill of a perfume, after all. I get something bitter, slightly sour, and unpleasant in the dry down that wasn't there before, or perhaps I just didn't notice it. Anyway, this perfume isn't really "extreme," but it is fun enough. I get powdery licorice with a hint of blackcurrant, drying down to light vanilla and sandalwood.The blackcurrant reminds me of the drink Ribena. Maybe this is the one Paul Smith should have called "London." Sillage is surprisingly low. I remember really liking this when I was in my early 20s and on a budget. There's nothing wrong with a cheap thrill. Joy (the feeling, not the Patou) shouldn't be exclusive.

I sprayed this in a savers shop as was on the counter as you paid, so glad i did as i absolutely love this smell on me and for the first time ever my other half actually said i smelled nice when i kissed him goodbye when i left for work this morning. I also get the parma violets smell but this dries down to just a really lush smell which as others have said smells clean and fresh but very feminine. I would imagine this wouldn't be for those friuty gourmand lovers but seems to be exactly what i have been looking for. I normally like Poeme, D & G No.10, Miracle (poss pepper attracted me),Paco Rabanne XS for women and Armani code type smells so this is really out of my normal comfort zone but still loving it.

I've tried it hoping it resembles my discontinued signature scent Gucci II because it was created by the same nose. Alas the tea note really prominent here and ruins it for me as my skin does not absorb it so it becomes very nauseating and vintage. I also tried it on clothing and it's more tolerable but still not quite what I would like. Apart from that it is a nice fragrance with good longevity and projection. It cant really decide whether it wants to be sweet or zesty or bitter so I would say it's a bit unstable. I feel that it needs more floral notes. The cedar is very nice and soft though much less dry than it is in some other fragrances. I would advise trying it before buying.

Well I seem to be almost completely alone in saying I like this! I've owned two or three large bottles and think I'll probably buy it again in the future too. It's just that lovely peppery opening which makes me enjoy it so much. I also enjoy the vaguely 'washing powder' base as to me it smells like warm clean clothes straight out of the laundry. In a nutshell, this just smells of 'warm', if that isn't too strange a thing to say. It's definitely an everyday comfort scent, nothing special or dynamic, but I find it very pleasurable. We're all different I guess!

I was a bit shocked at first by the peppery opening but this soon calms down to reveal a gorgeous soft floral fragrance. There's enough depth from the woody notes to give the scent some backbone but the overriding theme is a floaty feminine one. Something reminds me of those old fashioned violet flavoured sweets but without any sickly chypre. I wouldn't compare this to Kenzo Flower at all. Flower has that horrible synthetic floral going on which is just yuk. This is soft, powdery and clean. I think this is my scent for this summer!

I bought this but only once. Used half of it before giving up and handing it over to a friend's teenage daughter. They don't sell Love's Baby Soft here in Ireland but I have a feeling these two would be rather similar. They are both light and powdery as well as lacking staying power, at least on me. I thought this was actually less floral then Flower By Kenzo but that might just be me. It is unremarkable and probably not worth buying unless you get it half off. Even then you probably won't use all the bottle.

I agree with PastelMoon: it' a strange hybrid to be sure. I enjoyed the initial blast and was left with the lovely 'woodsy' scent I crave but can rarely find. On the downside (being used to 'heavier' scents)I found I had to reapply frequently. I have decided it is not body chemistry but personal taste when it comes to how often one reapplies perfume. I do adore his 'Rose' fragrance!! I will leave off wearing this until the summer when it's woody depths will remind me of Autumn leaves and play with my AP's!

This is one of those fragrances that my husband wears when he "wants to smell like me." The pepper is strong (which apparently is the cassia) and I love it. It's unlike most of my current fragrances, and a nice diversion. The cassia stays with me a long time before it drys down to a spicy powder. I got this from my grandmother and it's not something that I'd buy or maybe not even repurchase (I tend to not repurchase many) but I'm happy that she exposed me to this--I've enjoyed wearing it.

I love everything about it, from the peppery loud opening, violety middle and the powdery barely there drydown. It's cute, original and bold. I think that the name and the bottle totally don't suit this beautiful fragance. I don't like the cap of the bottle most, because it looks very cheap and plastic. This perfume screams for some edgyer bottle and I'm thinking of transfering the juice to a vintage perfume crystal vial I have been saving for some special perfume.

It is similar to Flower by Kenzo - the same synthetic floral sweetness. I can identify some floury/powdery note and creaminess of an apricot. It is pretty much the same from the beginnng to the end. Inviting to be worn in the winter - to accessorize crispy snowy weather.

Lovely peppery perfume, quite unusual and I could say appropriate especially for summer. Long lasting and very competitive pricewise. I like it very much even if the bottle is very simple. My first Paul Smith perfume. Reminds me alot of T.M. Eau de Star.

i had a sample spray of this and at first spray it smells weird like sweet and peppery almost to the point where i didn't like it but when it dries down it smells very very nice and paul smith has lasting power in his fragrances.

Nothing extreme about this. Smells sweet and powdery. The most obvious note is the the cedar. This is a soft and subtle fragrance. It's very masculine and strongly resembles Burberry Touch for men.

very vanilla sweet and soapy, smells quite similar to amour by kenzo but it is a bit ordinary. the staying power is good, but it smells like a perfume copy, not too original.

Starts out pure and screaming pepper with no relief. Dries down to an inoffensive and certainly not extreme sandal/vanilla soft oriental base. Weird experiment without impact

i have this perfume and i love it....smells like sweety's palmer violets...lush...: ) . The smell lasts for ages too...this is a regular purchase for me...xxx

Got this as a free sample - glad I didn't buy it! Smells like soap powder when it settles down!
