Paul Smith Rose Romantic Edition

I find this a fresh, clean rose with decent sillage and ok longevity. Excellent value so I'm happy to reapply. I've had compliments in the shopping centre when wearing it. Wearing MFK a la Rose on one hand and Paul Smith Rose Romantic edition on the other, they really are quite similar. MFK is a little muskier, more violet maybe, Paul Smith more effervescent. I haven't tried the original Paul Smith so I'm not sure how much this deviates from that.

This one has a good scent but pretty horrible in both longevity and sillage. I would give it "very poor" in longevity and "none" in sillage if any available for the rating. In short - avoid this one like a plaque. What is any point in the world for using fragrances that no one could smell them at all?

Kiss From a Rose! 💋🌹 Honestly, finding a great rose scent is trickier than it should be. So much out there is too musty, too green, too sharp, too complex, too synthetic, too weak, or simply too dull. If we're going by rose-dominant/soliflore perfumes, the greatest rose scent there ever was was "Stella" EdP by Stella McCartney. You read correctly. I will be taking no questions on this. Alas, it is discontinued. "Alas" is too formal and polite. Many other 4-letter words come to mind when remembering this discontinuation abomination nonsense. Sadly, people who hate good things make those decisions and us plebs are left to deal with the fallout. Anyway - Paul Smith "Rose Romantic Edition" helps fill that "Stella"-shaped hole 80% of the way. It's not a perfect fit, but it soothes the (thorny) cut and is absolutely beautiful. I can't comment on the original PS "Rose" because...Paul Smith doesn't seem super-popular here, frankly. But this is most excellent. Quite tangy (I'm assuming that it's ALL of the top notes here) that tends to linger, but - joy of joys! - the pretty, delicate, realistic, garden-fresh true rose scent is here. It's a lovely bouquet of Valentine's Day gift-giving. And, yes, it is romantic! Sillage is lovely, but you gotta spray a lot and most definitely on your clothes. On clothes, it lingers for 6-8 hours. On skin...4-5 hours, maybe? I have a 100ml bottle and aim to replace it when the time comes. Blessed be the rose-makers. Repurchase-worthy! *** Kitty rating: 8/10
