Les Chaussons Rouges

This is my 2nd favorite perfume right now. I've never tried any other Odette parfums but I'll Never Learn (also by Pearfat) is in the #1 spot. This one takes a VERY close 2nd place. This scent is delicious and I get a bunch of compliments every time I wear it. I just got it last month and I'm already almost halfway through the bottle. When you first spray it on your skin, it immediately gives you that oil paint smell complete with stretched canvases, old worn down wooden paintbrushes, Turpentine, and Linseed Oil. Then right after it wraps you up in a warm hug with the candied ginger/ginger caramel and Oud woosdy smell. Notes similar to pinecones and Christmas tree smell. I feel in the dry down is when I get the spicy Saffron and warm floral Dahlia notes. It smells gourmand in the way Hot Tamales cinnamon candy tastes and has a certain fruity sweetness to it. I'm in love with it. Will definitely purchase a 2nd bottle next year.

it is Cabbage Patch Kids lore that all kids are born at BabyLand General Hospital. this collaboration between pearfat + odette is the gauzy doll head scent of a baby born under the weather at BabyLand General. nurses in the ward lather vaporub onto plastic heads and spoon feed puckered lips honeyed cough drops. the balmy opening mellows into this warm spicy musk that sits close to the skin. while i am familiar with pearfat’s offerings this is my first introduction to odette and i am left excited for what is to come.

Develops beautifully and has great longevity, nice projection yet feels soft. Smells like cinnamon gum left inside a velvet jewelry box. Do not listen to the review saying this smells anything like Petit Gâteau or Rabbit Rabbit, I have them both and these are all so SO different.

My first impression review is that it’s a lovely cross between Pearfat’s Rabbit Rabbit and Odette’s Petit Gâteau. I’m reluctant to say you don’t need it if you have both, but that was my first thought. Otherwise, it’s a delightfully warm and spicy gourmand that I’m looking forward to testing further.

Opens with the smell of new sneakers, rubber and patent leather. Dries down to sweetness and what’s often described as “white musks.” I hadn’t worn this in about a year, because I didn’t feel strongly about it then, and I think I like it less now. Very faint, not at all unpleasant, but not exactly pleasant either. A true skin scent, it’s something I don’t think would ever call attention to it, positive or negative. I feel this is just not notable.

Leathery but sweet saffron opens. Dirty oud and musky woods follow. I never really get much ginger, but it does seem that it backs up the saffron with more explicit sweetness. This is pretty weak and not mind blowing. However, the scent on the paper the next day was very beautiful. Still a dislike.
