Stomped on Bed of Lettuce

Sharp, herbal, spicy green opening. Can smell the saltwater and pink peppercorn, everything else rolls together to make a grassy field, not really picking out other individual notes. Very invigorating. A bit more animalic as it dries down but not off putting at all, like opening up a friend’s closet to try on coats. I suppose on paper I might have a hard time selling someone on a perfume that smells like seawater, herbs, and fur coats, but it's gorgeous. Lot of punch and energy. You get lush greenery and the smells of a big city at the same time. There's a sensation of smelling the inside of a silk purse. Like vintage feminine luxuries mixed together with wet, spicy greens. It's a little more powdery the more it dries down, which I usually don’t like, but it has a zestiness that keeps it away from baby powder. Further into dry down, it becomes a much lighter smell that could even be office appropriate. Silk with an herbal zing. I find it completely intoxicating. Hours into dry down, it's kind of a your skin but better scent. I would love to smell this on anyone.

This fragrance made me watch the inspiration for it, Daises (1966), which was quite the odd trip. The fragrance and notes make sense with the inspiration, where there’s a great deal of chaotic elements that all somehow meld together to make a cohesive and very complete piece of art. Moving from my poor, pretentious, artistic appreciation. The fragrance is at the top is a very fresh green fragrance, though not listed as a note I get almost a lettuce, maybe that’s because of the name priming me. However the fragrance has a lot of depth, especially as it moves to the dry down, it gets for lack of a descriptor funkier. The civet, oak moss, and incense really develop a dense, dark undercurrent, underneath the green aspects of the the fragrance. Also, worth noting, I believe this fragrance really benefits from spraying on the skin vs the applicator. When I tried it in the discovery kit (w/ applicator) vs the full bottle, it lets it breathe a bit more. It’s much brighter, and at least for me, allowed me to get a better smell of the non-green notes.

really like this one! It's green at first, but the fruity citrus comes through as it settles. The dry down has a lot of depth. It's one of those scents, where it's not really a bouquet, but a real blend ('whole is greater than the sum of the parts' etc.) I want this in a candle and deodorant too<3 I think I assumed incense notes would be always be forward, but it's mellow and plays nicely here. Not a sweet or necessarily even fruity scent after it sits for a bit. I feel like it just makes you into one of those people that 'smells good'

I adore this scent – it’s perfect for spring. My personal perfume preferences are for green and/or spicy perfumes, and this delivers on both fronts. The rhubarb and pink pepper are bright and spicy at the front, then over the first hour or so they fade into a mild, clean, green smell with a hint of grapefruit. A few hours in and it settles more into an earthy incense that isn’t overpowering to too “churchy”. This is definitely not like anything I have in my spring collection, and I really enjoy it!

Really fresh scent that wakes your senses right up. I immediately smell fresh cut lettuce with spicy pink pepper, zesty rhubarb, and leafy greens with fresh cut lemon. It has some interesting soft hints of musk and patchouli notes. It smells like when you're washing lettuce and leafy greens to prepare them for a tasty salad. It's a perfect spring/summer scent or perfect for anyone who likes aromatic citrusy green scents. I've gotten a few compliments on this one!

I am new to this but this is the wildest perfume I have ever smelled and I love it. The notes do not blend together harmoniously but smack you in waves like a roller coaster. Bruised lettuce, the water seeping from it, pepper, coriander, earth. People mention BO but it's the b.o. of a healthy person who does5sweat excessively and just spent the day in the sun. I imagine this could be upsetting to some. It feels like crashing a party.

I can see why some people would not vibe with this scent, but I love it! I have such vivid scent memories with this perfume. It smells like visiting the Aquarium section at a crowded zoo! It smells like salt water and seaweed in the best possible way, you also get the something ever so sweet creeping in, something that reminds me of concessions stand selling some gimmicky treat that 6-year-old me really wants!

For MONTHS I have been craving the kinds of scents that will turn me into a salad, and this is so delightful and fits the bill. It's incredibly clean. My roommate likened it to those fancy grocery stores with the mist sprayers over the lettuce and other produce. I'm definitely getting a lot of grapefruit, which I didn't expect to be as strong but I'm not mad at.

It’s like a mix of a lot of sour green notes to complement the amazing seawater/civet notes. The rhubarb, grapefruit, and oak moss are all the right amount of sour and punchy to add to the sweaty/sour vibe. Later the darker patchouli comes through to tone things down but it’s amazing the whole way through. It’s definitely a 10/10, one of my all time favorites.

This is so bright and green and wet. More than just dewy lettuce, I get an almost tomato leafiness here. The pink peppercorn and rhubarb and citrus are front and center but the patchouli rounds it out in a very cool way! This smells cold but not icy. Wet but not soggy. Crisp. Shiny. Juicy. Tart. I just love it a lot.

A very unique, green scent. Smell doesn't change so much as it fades that it turns into another perfume. It's spicy and vegetal, and for me the rhubarb is the dominant note. A little stinky in a good way.

My review of Kewpie doll is a little longer but again, Pearfat puts on a clinic of nostalgia. Vibes of a teen night at the roller rink in high school and everyone is sweating with perfume on.

Never met a rhubarb fragrance that I didn’t love.

Day 2 of randomly selecting from my stash and wearing it for the day. I love Pearfat scents, I am a Pearfat enjoyer through and through, so I was pleasantly surprised when I selected this one, because admittedly, it was one of the few Pearfat scents that I hadn't really fully experienced. Especially after yesterday's 10AM Fantomas - Nasomatto situation, I was so excited to have a fresh and green scent, or really just anything that smelled like it existed naturally in nature, and this scent certainly fits the bill. Initial spray: Rhubarb my queen, you have never done anything I didn't like. I've been somewhat on a rhubarb kick lately with the passing of my grandfather who loved Rhubarb strawberry pie, I am always looking to add it to more and more things. For my 30th birthday in a few weeks I have a rhubarb orange cake coming my way and I decided that I will wear this that day and live my Rhubarb dreams. It smells crisp, snappy, and sour. It wears so close to the skin, the Rhubarb is very intimate in the blend. To my nose Pink Pepper was really running the show. I kept finding myself searching for the aquatic note, and I won't say it wasn't there, but it seemed more as a background character than a show runner. Dry down: I am so surprised by some of the other reviews on this scent. After the immediate spicy kick dried down I found this so wearable. The smell is what I imagine a stylish yet out of touch wealthy person's hand soap and multipurpose cleaner would smell like. A product that seems natural but is actually doing the work. As it develops I almost get a brown banana smell, and I don't mean that in a bad way. To me it doesn't smell rotten, but it does smell like the collected compost of a very aromatic kitchen. It smells like food scraps, and in that it lacks an intention that you usually have with green perfume blends, and I really love that! It doesn't smell like some chimera of how I want food scraps to smell, it smells like the best outcome of how some cut up fresh produce baking all day in the sun would smell. It reminds me of my internship where I would turn the compost mostly composed of grape leaves and garlic mustard every morning, and how I loved the spicy kick of the warm scraps in the air. Performance wise it doesn't last very long on my skin. After all the zingy citrus and pepper evaporates off it is a generally pleasant musky scent. For me, I think this will be a full bottle purchase. I think while some find the initial spray overpowering, the pink pepper note really settles well on dry down and I find this perfectly rides the wave of unusual but generally pleasing.

this fragrance smells like a zesty salad, opening with sharp, zingy rhubarb and perfectly complimented by pink pepper and grapefruit notes. i love the sea water note, it’s so unexpected but somehow fits in perfectly with everything else — i think the saltiness adds to the salad association. it’s earthy, savory, slightly spicy; the patchouli and incense notes give it a darker edge than the other green scent in this collection, kewpie doll. personally i think i could do without the civet note, though the animalic aspect does add to the outdoorsy spring garden feeling that this perfume evokes. in the drydown, the bold impression tones down and pulls a sweet tang on my skin, which i find very pleasant in contrast with all the vegetal/green notes. i can see how it might not be everybody's cup of tea, but i love it! it's SO unique; i want to toss this fragrance in a bowl of fresh, crisp lettuce and have it for lunch on a sunny spring afternoon.

I get peppered lettuce from this, it opens a bit more like grass or walking through a field of overgrown weeds, and dries down to a smell that makes me think of the waiter at the restaurant grinding fresh peppercorn on my salad. I don’t get animalic notes here, but to be fair, my chemistry often mutes musky and animalic notes. This actually comes off as a bit soapy on me. The fresh green notes become more peppery in the drydown. Overall a very unique and exceptionally well done green fresh herbal scent with a bit of spice that truly loves up to its name. Reminds me of nature hikes, yard work/spring weeding, and gardening (a major hobby of mine). Unisex though I see men enjoying this more as it lacks typical feminine perfume characteristics. Though not the usual kind of scent I’d wear, I enjoy it from an “aromatherapy” standpoint as it’s a relaxing reminder of green nature.

i don't think i've smelt a fragrance that evokes such an intense feeling of nostalgia quite like this one... "stomped on bed of lettuce" brings back memories of jekyll island, my parents' favorite place to vacation when i was a child. i recall the time they got terrible sun poisoning because it was cloudy enough that they assumed sunscreen was unnecessary; while it doesn't hold the saltiness of the actual ocean, this scent does bring me back to my childlike ideation of that beach. the rhubarb and civet pack a powerful punch that gives this perfume a somewhat sweaty chemical aspect, like a pleasant battery acid. it has the feverish feel of an intense sunburn but also an inviting citric quality that mellows out the scent profile into a lovely reminder of fonder times.

You know, it does the damn thing! I usually do not like marine scents, but this one is so complex and cool that I don’t even care very much. The pink pepper is heavyyyy, but it reads as very clean. The greenery is pleasant, and it does not let the ocean of it all overtake. This is an olfactory experience, rather than an every day wear. I like a lot of the elements individually, but if I close my eyes and smell it, I am distantly reminded of luxury bath soap trying to cover up cigarette smoke. It then, however, transforms into a watery piece of celery. So cool and so weird.

This is a well executed clean, bright green scent. Invokes freshly cut, bright vegetation blanched in ice-cold water and thrown into bowl; tossed into a citrusy, peppery mix of fresh greens. The rhubarb and citrus really play with that citrusy pepper on top of the dewy green soul of this scent, keeping it bright and punchy yet grounded in earth. I really enjoy this one. If the performance was a liiiiiiiiiiittle bit better on my skin, this would easily be up there for my favorite green perfume. Love it nonetheless. 🥬

I wish this smelled on my skin what it does in the bottle. The second this touches my skin, it turns into pure, fresh, green cardamom. Not a single hint of another note in this, just cardamom. Don't get me wrong, I loooove cardamom, but there's nothing else to it. No salad, no rhubarb, no grapefruit. This is somehow more cardamom smelling than any fragrance that actually has cardamom. If it lasted longer and were less expensive I'd consider getting it just to layer because it's uncanny
