Eros

The name comes from the Greek God of love, the winged son of Aphrodite. But its relation with the fragrance is different since the creations of the House Peccato Originale are inspired by the Galenic formulas and medicines from yore. Here, the love comes portrayed as the carelessness of the burning passions, which resulted in venereal diseases, very common in the last century. Eros is a perfume based on an ancient formulation used to cure syphilis, which used balsams of Gurjum and Guaiac. The edge between passion and madness has been translated into a composition that combines notes of Oud (Agarwood) and Gurjum balsam, in the top; musk, red rose, and oud, again, in the body of the fragrance; Amber, Moss, patchouli and Guaiac wood, in the base. The Gurjum balsam is obtained through trees cultivated in Malaysia and Indonesia. It has a balsamic and woody scent and is used as a fixative, although in just a few creations. But the secret of Eros comes from the combination of Oud and rose. The Oud used in this scent is the one with woody and medicinal aromas. And even present in two stages of the olfactory pyramid still loses to the rose, which is very present. This combo of Oud + rose is sensual and sexual. On the skin, Eros behaves linearly, with projection and lasting above average. It's not innovative if you have already felt the hot scents of the Middle East that always bring many nuances of Oud and roses. But for a fragrance of Italian origin, it surprised me a lot, because it goes on a different direction of the usual citrus and Mediterranean colognes. And in the game of love and seduction, the rose has always its special place!
