Charuto Mysterious Tobacco

Cool Osmanthus & Bright, Sweet & Fruity (Red) Tobacco... There's a combination here of sweet fruity-ginger-tobacco, along with cool & leather-y aspects of osmanthus that have a slight leaning to oud-y-ambroxan. This is a dupe of Mystery Tobacco Carolina Herrera with good approximation and average to above average performance. Unisex leaning masculine, this is a gentler, easier-to-wear (red) tobacco scent, and doesn't overpower to my nose, and despite being a tobacco scent, the spiciness here is quite mild. In the first minute I can feel the fruity tobacco, but then it disappears as the spray dries. 2-3 minutes in, as the sillage starts to open up, I get a leather-y osmanthus note that leans to oud-y-ambroxan (which improves the performance) and brings to mind a soft nude coloured leather that melts into something near quince. A minute or two later I get sweet, fruity-ginger-tobacco emerging while the cool leather-y osmanthus note lingers in the top notes. This is the main impression for the bulk of the wearing experience, but the longer it's on the skin the more blended and smooth it seems. This isn't a beast mode performer, but that's part of its charm, and the performance is still slightly above average, and one of the strongest for this brand. Enjoy! Update 08/09/24: It's a little cooler today, so I sprayed this on my hand in search of osmanthus. This has evolved a little and gotten stronger, and while it's a (red) tobacco scent, the osmanthus & tonka bring a luxurious, whipped leather facet on a guaiac wood base accented with artemisia. Other reviewers for Mystery Tobacco Carolina Herrera have mentioned a creamy quality also. The effect for me isn't gourmand, but more like all the notes are combined into a velvety mousse by a molecular gastronomist and presented on a wooden plank. So good today it's become a love.

Boy am I happy to see this fragrance finally listed here on Fragrantica! I hope this means we will see more from Paris Corner and other brands (Fragrance World, etc.) creating inexpensive perfumes that often aim to replicate or reinterpret usually insanely overpriced fragrances. Mysterious Tobacco is obviously meant as a clone of Carolina Herrera's Mystery Tobacco, and it absolutely aces the brief. Yes it is close enough to Red Tobacco, too, but never gets as sweet as the Mancera. In some ways it is smoother than Red Tobacco - certainly the opening, while similar, isn't as harsh. Of course, you can add Carlisle to the list of fragrances that Mysterious Tobacco gets close to. It's simply a top class effort by Paris Corner. Performance is stellar. Easily 14 hours with three or four sprays. It goes without saying, only for colder days and seasons. Depending on where you live on the planet you can get Mysterious Tobacco for anywhere from $13 to $20. Stupendous value on every front. If you're a lover of the tobacco note, this should already be in your collection. I have two bottles, and overjoyed that I do. Thank you to the good people at Fragrantica for listing this gem.

Amazing...amazing....AMAZING!! This is right up there with "Exclusif Tabac" (which has been discontinued...*CRY*) and performs only slightly worse. The scent is just as amazing and the only negative I have to give is the horrible low-quality bottle it comes in. Absolute TRASH bottle!! Beautiful design, but the sprayer leaked all over the place on the first spray turning the red outer coating of the bottle into a gelatinous dye-filled goop that doesn't wash off of clothes (Goodbye shirt >_< ) and is hard to wash off of skin. I cracked the top off the bottle and rehomed the juice in a proper spray bottle and threw that garbage bottle it came in into the trash. Now that the juice is in a proper fragrance bottle, it sprays correctly and aerates better and smells just like my 60% full bottle of "Exclusif Tabac". I'll order a backup of this fragrance next week, as high-quality Tobacco fragrances are getting harder and harder to come by these days. 9/10 (1 point taken off for the crappy bottle)

Updated Review: Gosh. The sillage on this thing? Unhinged. The scent clung to his skin like Gorilla Glue—I had to ask him to take another shower 😭😭😭 No kidding. I was suffocating in sensuality. Is the tobacco strong? Not exactly. It lingers in the background, justifying the name Charuto Mysterious Tobacco, but it’s overshadowed by the luscious sweetness of tonka bean, guaiac wood, and patchouli. Not a bad thing—just unexpected. As someone who’s driven by scent (and maybe a little bit of chaos), I find this fragrance mature, smoky-sweet, and almost edible in a “don’t get ideas” way. It smells like honeyed caramel smoke, kissed with wood and warm vanilla. Do I like it on my man? Absolutely. Would I let him wear it daily? God, no. This one is reserved for nights when you want to test your restraint. And maybe fail 😂😂 Got it for my husband and he loves the scent. Tobacco is not prominent but he says it’s ok.

There is zero ashtray or cigarette smell to this. None whatsoever. I know scent is subjective but idk what to say when people use things like 'piss' or 'cigarette' to describe some scents, which IMO, are wild exaggerations. Additionally, it's not even in the same galaxy as Ombre Noire(which is waaay more challenging) so idk what's up with blud's nose(who wrote the ashtray review). This is actually the one of the least smoky and safest tobacco scents you can buy and it smells like Mancera's Red Tobacco to at least 90%. Lasts for 6 -7 hours and projects for a couple of hours, it's perfect for winter, spring, fall and in my country, monsoons. Beautiful scent to sleep to if you want to wake up to a gorgeous vetiver-guiac wood drydown. Unmistakably sexy.
