Halfeti Cedar

Halfeti + Straight to Heaven = Halfeti Cedar? That's really the best way I can describe Halfeti Cedar. Just like in Halfeti Leather, the DNA of the original Halfeti is really present, but the addition of the strong cedar and the rum on top of the patchouli reminds me a lot of Straight to Heaven. However, this gorgeous accord is smoothed out so it's nowhere near as earthy and even damp as it is on the Kilian, which can make it much more palatable to many noses. The skin scent I'm detecting right now smells a lot like maple syrup, very similar to Clive Christian's E Gourmand Oriental, but it doesn't come off as anywhere near as cloying or screechy as the Clive Christian, once again this aspect is smoothed out in comparison (and in this case improved in my opinion). While I adore Halfeti and became a big fan of Straight to Heaven after giving it a wear I probably wouldn't buy this as a replacement for those two fragrances for reasons I'll explain next. Unfortunately, like a lot of strong woody scents I'm quite nose blind to this as well so this affects how I perceive performance. It also didn't help that my sample's spray wasn't working properly, so I couldn't spray it on myself adequately. Projection was moderate to strong-ish at first with a dense sillage but it didn't stay that way for long, maybe half an hour to an hour at best. It's only been about 5 hours since I sprayed it on and it's already faint on my skin, so it probably won't last beyond 6 hours. This is quite poor compared to the original Halfeti which managed to last over 12 hours with less sprays, but nose blindness definitely plays into my experience.

Blind bought this based on my coworkers review and because it is allegedly discontinued. I knew I'd like it but I did not expect the obsession that ensued. This is hands down the best bang for buck fragrances I have ever purchased (paid $160 for 100 ml). Opens with semi sweet, boozy dried fruit and wood. The closer you put your nose to the application site the more the cedar and peach appear. As it dries down it has a wonderful transformation where the fruitiness calms down a bit, the sweetness ever so slightly ramps up, and a spicy woodiness comes to the forefront. In the late dry down it starts to smell like maple syrup. Despite having never worn or smelled this fragrance, it was eerily familiar at first sniff. The best I can compare it to is a combination of that characteristic sweet woodiness of TF oud wood, the spiciness of PDM Haltane, and the fruitiness of amouage jubilation 40, except where jubilation 40's fruitiness is blackberry and black current, this is more of an ambiguous amalgamation of fruitiness with the same olfactory texture. Jubilation 40 is my favorite fragrance of all time, but this is in track to be my second. It's definitely different but in the same genre as jubilation 40 and for 1/3 the price.

This might be a controversial take, but Halfeti Cedar reminds me of TF Plum Japonais. So much so, that I sprayed HC on one hand and PJ on the other, just to test my initial read. While they do not smell exactly alike, their scent profile lies in a similar direction. Both combine sweet, dried fruits & woods, and have a boozy gourmand feel. Plum Japonais is much more similar to Halfeti Cedar than Triumph of Bacchus, for example. I compared Triumph and Halfeti Cedar in a similar fashion, because comparisons were made in this thread, but the peach in Triumph is far brighter, whereas the peach in HC smells dark, and more like the plum in PJ, to my nose. If you missed out on purchasing Plum Japonais at a reasonable price, I think Halfeti Cedar could scratch that itch. The cedar makes Halfeti a bit drier than PJ, but you get a similar boozy, dried fruit experience.

Jammy-fruity and paper-woody, sweet and savory, rousing and comforting... There are many soft contrasts in one bottle, and I find them working together absolutely delightful. After dried fruit and spice settles in, I am getting more of cedar and almost oak moss and paper notes (they aren't listed, but that's what I am getting), somehow reminding me of Guerlain Bois d'Armenie *in a way* (these are two very different fragrances, don't get me wrong). Boozy note keeps going on, and together with other notes, it creates that festive-comforting feeling. I also own the original Halfeti, and while its DNA is clearly present in Halfeti Cedar, it's worth owning both bottles to me. A very high-quality and long-lasting fragrance. I would still recommend getting a sample (or two) before you go for a FB.

I walked into the cafe with my 2 friends, they were both excited and asked me its name. It's so masculine and strong, it was a rainy day and everything seemed to resonate to enhance the beauty of this scent. After 12 hours + i still smell it faintly. I wouldn't dare touch it on days when the temperature is above 28, it gives me a headache. An extremely strong and attractive wooden bomb. At first it reminded me of TF black Orchid but I saw the scent notes were completely different but I have to say it's quite similar, Halfeti is stronger and attractive, Black orchid is so bitchy 🤣. I will definitely bring it with me when traveling to the mountains, the weather there is around 17 to 22 degrees Celsius, perfect for Halfeti. Perfect quality.

I'm enjoying my first wearing of this one. I just received it this morning and as of right now I'm honestly speechless. It's truly amazing to experience this fragrance! It's such an utterly beautiful scent. As of now it's by far the absolute pinnacle of a woody/spicy fragrance experience!!! Just beautiful and amazingly natural smelling beyond belief. I'll be adding to this review when I get more experience with it and get a chance to enjoy it in the nice fall and winter weather it is definitely geared toward. But I already know that I had very, VERY HIGH expectations for this stuff and even so it has easily exceeded them. Do not pass on the opportunity to get your nose on this one everybody!!! I just cannot stress that enough.

Always found Halfeti challenging - spicy leather, austere. But overlay rum and fruits and you get this wonderful, warm and alluring fragrance. The sweet and sour notes are complimentary throughout. The spicy leather is there but it's not forward or overbearing, albeit dominating the early stages. As it dries the experience is sweeter, the mid a rich liquorice, the perfume then becomes sweeter still, but not sickly or gourmand, staying beautifully balanced. Performance is excellent, to me this is a night out/occasion fragrance, better for cooler months. A final point, the 'cedar' label is misleading. This is less dry wood and more rum punch though that would no doubt give the marketing team the vapours. Excellent stuff, 4.5/5

Absolute love! Unisex but heavily leaning masculine in my opinion. An incredible fragrance, with rum and peach notes, dried fruits, woody notes, and spices that are all perfectly balanced, elegant, classy, and charming. Halfeti Cedar begins with a nice rum steeped in wood. You can smell the spicy/sweet notes but the cedar woodS are always prominent, cedar that is sweetened with fruit, vanilla, and labdanum and spiced with saffron and cinnamon. Cedar is definitely the king in this perfume. Beautiful trail. Longevity is greater than 8 hours on my skin, and performance and projection are excellent. This perfume is a 10/10 from the first sniff. Pricey, but the aromatic quality makes up for it.

If you like Halfeti but you don't like roses this is for you! It's fruity, boozy, woody with the usual dna of Halfeti but sweeter and no rose. Amazing scent with good longevity and projection! But, there is another fragrance that does all that (plus tobacco!) in the 1/5 of the price and its Oud Malaki from Chopard. They are not identical but they are both takes on Halfeti without the rose. For sure, Halfeti Cedar is higher quality and the boozy, fruity elements are to die for but the price difference is huge. To me Oud Malaki is the option if you are on a budget but you love Halfeti dna with tobacco and Halfeti Cedar if you want a bit more in quality, the rum and the fruits!

I got a whiff of this fragrance off my friend and i was like, "man this smells good". I asked him what he was wearing and he told me it was Halfeti Cedar. So after spraying this on myself, it was giving off a oudy/woodsy vibe on my first spray. (which iv'e smelled over a thousand times) Then the transitioning that takes place is beautiful and what your left with is a masterpiece. I find this to be inoffensive, can be worn in most occasions and i feel like this is a like it or love it type fragrance. (No room for hate) I find it bottle worthy and it will remain in my collection. Leans more masculine for someone in their late 20's Longevity: 7+ Projection 5/6+

I was looking for a "Gentlemans Club" fragrance, and decided on Halfeti Cedar. It smells like rum, dried fruits and masculine woods. To me, it smells high quality and complex. Halfeti Cedar opens up boozy, sweet, deep, with some masculine woods in the background. As it dries down, the booziness fades a little, but it still has that deep, sweet smell from the rum, and the dried fruits note shines through a bit more. To me, this smells like what I imagine a British Gentleman Club to smell like. It might not be the most wearable fragrance out there, but it knows what it wants to be, executes it perfectly, and certainly fills it's niche!

One of my absolute favourite fragrances. The peach resembles the daytime of a hustle and bustle city, the saffron and rum remind me of the jazzy and funky nightlife of melbourne, And the woodiness of the fragrance reminds me of the business men and bankers of melbourne. So this smells traditional and sophisticated and incredibly playful. It can be worn in any season. But on super hot summer days it can be pulverising, but anything up to like 30 degrees celsius it works wonders. Because it is both sophisticated and playful and the fragrance has aspects that represent both day and night, it is such a diverse scent. Purely beautiful.

Bought this last summer and wasn’t that into it initially. The dry down had a very pancake syrup smell that was off putting maybe due to the heat / humidity at the time. But now...... GOOD LAWD! This thing is winter signature worthy. The listed notes are pretty accurate except I don’t get any cardamom. Performance is solid on skin and even better on clothing giving you a full days wearing. An overall amazing fragrance that when left to macerate became a favorite in my collection. 9/10

Excellent. Starts off with a nod to the original Halfeti combined masterfully with Cedar and Rum and also fresher than the original, as it dries down it focuses mainly on the latter two which is a shame. Still very nice indeed but that extra depth is what would have made it one of the all time masterpieces .As it is I still prefer it to the original hence this is what I will stick with. Highly enjoyable. An easy signature scent. Scent: 8.5/10 Projection: 7.5/10 Longevity: 7.5/10

So much booze in this one..I just love it. I know it’s obviously more on the male side but I can’t help it. I’ve the original Halfeti and I can sense some of its notes in this one but HC is on a league of its own. Just wanna add that I live in UK and Selfridges ships internationally in US and Middle Eastern and it’s free for over $300 so everyone who left previous comments that aren’t able to get their hands on it, you should defo try ordering from Selfridges. Best of the Halfeti line. Halfeti is a bit headache-inducing and Halfeti Leather was underwhelming, but this is really nice. Perfect blend of woods, spices, and fruits. Starts off a little sweet with the peach and dried fruits coming through, then you get some of the cardamom/cinnamon spice that gives it the Middle-Eastern vibe. Dry down is a dusty cedar, with the sweet notes being kept alive with vanilla and tonka bean.

To discover this after it has been discontinued is a great shame but the good news is this stuff is so strong I can make my remaining half a bottle last at least another 2 years! Cedar is in here for sure and it plays very will with some of the base halfeti notes but that rich dark fruit and boozy middle is very powerful. Silage is great- you will fill up a room and longevity is about 8 hrs on skin and days on cotton

I sampled this and it was nice, but not enough to make me need it. Then after a couple more wearings, I couldn't help myself and started liking it more and more. Was able to snag the only available used (90%) grey market bottle in the world on Ebay and got it today! I know it's the only one because the others you'll see listed are from Russian scammers who don't actually have it. Don't make that mistake.

Fruity, woody, ambery, boozy, oudy deliciousness. The cedar is delectable. Amber drips luscious, golden drops upon tonka bean & vanilla as they intertwine like horny lovers. An unlisted rose flits in & about, her velvet petals quivering. A masterful composition. Truly unisex, not as masculine as the OG Halfeti - which was too masculine for this girly girl. But I’ll rock this cedar flanker & love it!

I smelled this on a lady at my work today and it was divine.. I said to her “omg you smell amazing what is that?!” She said you ever hear of penhaligons said sure have! She said well it’s called Halfeti.. I’m glad she said it had rum in it b/c there’s 3 different halfetis so I’m sure it was this one..anyways smelling it on her was enough to make me want a bottle..WOW!

Gorgeous fall cedar scent, unlike nothing I've ever smelled. This fragrance involves a lot of aromatic accords - it's spicy, woody, resinous, fruity, nutty, and boozy at the same time, which makes it beautiful and complex. I love smelling it on my clothes the next day. It is my favorite out of the "trade routes" - aka the British colonizer collection. ;)

I’m so surprised this hasn’t gotten more hype. It’s one of my all-time favorite cool weather fragrances. Smells woody and boozy in the most pleasant and cozy way. I mainly bought my bottle because I found a great deal and had heard good things from Justin on his channel, now I’m dying to smell the original Halfeti because of how much I love this.

This was not a love at first sniff but now i am completely obsessed after going through 2 samples! The opening is so complex! Cedar and spices and fruits and sweetness! So much going on, it really is not a beginner fragrance. And the wife likes it! Potent on my skin like the original Halfeti! A must try. A absolutely dank fragrance

Every now and then this just becomes a whole different fragrance and you wonder, who is this great smelling person sitting next to me. I really want what he's wearing, a perfect dry fruit cedar. Then it goes back to its boozy wood personality, having lost none of its potency, 10 hours in. This is perfumery on a whole other level.

Great stuff. Dried fruits soaked in a rum barrel made of dry Cedar wood.... Mild vanilla and tonka notes to round it out. Good performance and longevity. Amazing for cool weather. This will absolutely turn heads in the fall. It does open similar to The Blazing Mr. Sam, but it goes a very different direction pretty quickly.

Wow. What a beautiful fragrance. Perhaps longest lasting fragrance on my skin. 3 days on my skin. I was not able to use any other perfume. It wakes me up at night :) as such strong natural cedar perfume. Realistic you can go with Cedar... Just beautiful. Must try if you chance you wont regret.

Not sure if it’s my nose going blind, but this fragrance seems to die down very fast. I love the opening and the dry down is nice but seems almost skin scent weak. Hoping it’s just my olfactory, but it’s a nice scent either way. Just hoped for better performance.

The cedar comes through elegantly in this without its harsh nuance that's easily detected in other fragrances, so much so that if I didn't know it had a cedar note in it, I'd assume it was a woody accord created to resemble cedar but with other woods.

I find this quite enjoyable. Especially the sillage. It’s not as pleasant close up to the nose, but in the air...wow. I think this is a fantastic fruity spicy mix. Edit: I keep getting headaches from this. It may be the Tonka, I’m not quite sure.

Yup, the scent is as the note list above, except that on my skin it's not boozy-sweet but boozy-sour (sour dried fruits?). To me it has almost the same drydown as PdM Carlisle. Unfortunately now I have both and I feel like they're redundant :/

I do believe it has been discontinued as listed below. Shame. It is a great woody fragrance. Can we really label it Halfeti without the black rose? I enjoy the opening and really enjoy the drydown. Grab it if you can find it.

I love this perfume!Smells woody,spicy and boozy!The main notes what i feel are cedar ,rum and a little bit fruits.Great for the fall and winter,but can be used in spring nights.The performance is great.

It’s been on my skin for more than 48 hours. Went through 3 showers, and it’s still there. Definitely up there with xerjoff iommi monkey special, in terms of longevity and projection.

Got a second bottle today since it's getting discontinued. It's definitely one of the best perfumes I've had. Evolves for hours and stays in my skin all day. Just love it.

This is one of my favorites. It is absolutely intoxicating, I cant stop smelling my wrist. People have told me it reminds them of an old man but I don't care (I'm 31).

This is just insanely sexy good, all the negative remarks towards this special perfume is just that not everyone can smell and define artistry in perfumery...

You can’t wear this with casual outfit or everyday use، it would be perfect with Formal occasions and get dressed well Highly recommend for winter only.

This is a cousin of Blonde Amber, which is really hyped. Same olfactory family, divine. What a shame it was discontinued officially.

Best woody scent this is perfection

I was using the 5ml oil of this for quite a bit and then out of a coincidence I walk into Penhaligons and Halfeti Cedar is on a 60% sale. Halfeti Cedar opens up with a very sweet and boozy scent. The rum and saffron blend is quite powerful and likable while the peach adds a fruity touch. The mid notes are mainly woody and cinnamon and there’s a touch of fruitiness aswell from the dried fruit note. Quite a unique note but it really isn’t too strong. Off the base the fragrance gets quite sweet with the tonka bean and vanilla but the Cedar wood helps give it a more masculine approach. Halfeti Cedar is a solid winter scent. It is quite strong and lasts about 9-10 hours. For me this is right behind Halfeti Leather, I think I just prefer the Oud note in that over the notes in Cedar. But both are excellent pics for the winter. I think the price point of the whole halfeti line is really solid. You get something really decent with the price you are paying at. Halfeti Cedar may be too sweet for some but for me I think it does a great job. Scent: 8 Projection: 8 Longevity: 9 Value: 7 Overall: 8.5

This is a flanker to Halfeti, see my review of the original for more details, I'll just compare the two here. I honestly expected this one to be rather similar to the original but it's rather different, fruitier and woodier. The rose I love from the original is gone, replaced by a bitter greenness which I think is immortelle. The fruit notes are noticeable here as well along with a boozier vibe. Sadly, I find all this muddled by a harsh cedar note. Cedar to my nose is a blessing or a curse, it can elevate a fragrance or make it harsh woody. Halfeti Cedar is not harsh but it is definitely very cedar-heavy and after a while I lose the nice fruit notes and spices in the opening and cedar takes all the space which to me is unfortunately. If you don't like the rosy oud from the original and you enjoy fruity notes and cedar, by all means try this one out. I think the fruitier and less rose-oud heavy aspect might make this one more suited for day wear. Longevity is just as eternal but the projection seems a little bit toned down here (heavy woods, probably).

Alright, so late last year I rode over a speed bump near my house just a tad too fast thus causing my water pump to shift and leak. Gratefully my car was still under warranty and was able to get it replaced for free (hurray!!). Fast forward to today I spray 4 spritz’s of Halfeti Cedar on and leave out the door to my car. I had been careful over the past few months to be cautious of the speed bump near my house since the incident, but today I got distracted and once more went over the same speed bump a tad too fast. Surly I thought “yep, I’ve done it again.” But preceded to my destination anyway. On my way I was getting wafts of a sweet aroma that resembled maple syrup or a candied like treat; at this point I was sure I shifted the water pump yet again. I get to my destination and the person that greets me says “Wow, you smell like antifreeze.” I quickly sniffed the crease of my arm only to realize on the whole drive I was smelling Halfeti Cedar. The good news is my car wasn’t leaking antifreeze. #trueStory

This smells like dried apricots, sugar, and dried plums, nothing more nothing less. There is a faint hint of cedar, but only just. This is like you rubbed your skin with that stuff, poured warm sugary syrup on the area, and wore a hot ironed shirt on top. It sticks forever. I initially liked it, but after two full wearing in moderate weather it fell out of grace for me, maybe it will redeem itself in super cold snowy weather, I hope so, otherwise it's a dust collector, or a cheap sell/give away. That said, the blend shows good craftsmanship, but the idea is a bit overkill on the dried fruits. I am tempted to layer with a tobacco fragrance if all else fails. This is the second meh fragrance from the house, actually the third meh fragrance as I didn't see the original Halfeti as good as Montale Oud Dream, which completely replaced it.
