Really nice honyed cinnamon tobacco. In the opening I get the tarragon and citrus and the ginger gives it a bit of zing. I never really understood the TF tobacco vanille comparison but after my 3rd wearing I noticed a similarity after a few hours, but for the most part, it does it's own thing. I like honey tobacco fragrances like vintage Kilian B2B but what I appreciate here is they didn't make it so sickly sweet, so it's easier for me to tolerate the opening compared to the Kilian. The rum is very subdued here but not nearly as faint as the brandy used in Lord George. I guess heavy booze just isn't part of Penhaligon's ethos, although gin is noticeable for a little while in Much Ado about Duke. Overall a strong release and I plan to nab a bottle at some point. I am a woman who loves floral dresses and red lipsticks and kitten heels and I have no qualms in admitting that I love wearing this perfume. In fact, I bought Clandestine Clara, The Blazing Mr. Sam and Roaring Radcliffe all at once and this turned out to be the best of the lot. On my skin this is sweet - the cinnamon amazingly smooth with that honey. It makes me think of a delicious concoction I would love to drink. The ginger offsets the sweetness beautifully. Once it settles down I get a hint of tobacco, but not much. When I wear this I feel like I am wrapped in a warm comforting cardigan that I want to pull closer around me. If a man wore this, I’m sure I’d want to keep sniffing them, over and over again. Sillage is intimate, which makes it even sexier in my opinion. After all, who doesn’t want to smell good enough to eat?

I've had the luck of buying this beauty a few days ago in a town near by, here in Italy. I've had a sample from the blue juice version and it was very spicy and sweet from the honey, loved it..but when i bought a full bottle, i got the Brown juice one, and oh my god, this is something unbelievable, Tobacco Vanille ? Yes, but is much classier, elegant. A bit gourmandish, but a smidge, nothing close to a full gourmand. It's spicy, with much more tobacco (early on is very dry on me) the honey gives it a comfortable feeling that envelopes you and into the dry down. This smells like late fall-winter-christmass, ginger bread and tobacco. Simply amazing. I love when perfumes houses take a famous fragrance and tweak it, refine it and put their own spin on it. 9.5/10

Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford feels like a cigar that punches you in the throat, while this one is more like a thin, sweetened cigarette for ladies. Both share a tobacco note, but Roaring Radcliff is much sweeter and more refined. There's no soapiness from the beeswax, but it definitely has honey and leather. It reminds me of a bespoke leather watch strap I used only in winter, one that had absorbed some cigarette smoke back when I used to smoke. It's a very interesting and intriguing scent, the projection is not super strong though, Only you and someone sitting close to you can enjoy it for a few hours, and after that, you are forced to bury your nose into your skin to catch those sweet, smoky whiffs, I am not sure if that's a good or bad thing

A sweet honied tobacco that is slightly spicy and boozy with a hint of chocolate. This is compared to Tobacco Vanille, but I get more of a Boclet Tobacco vibe from this than a TV vibe, but I will admit that there is a bit of a TV vibe in this one. RR is a warm, rich and elegant scent with good projection and longevity on my skin. A very well blended scent. I can see this in any attire, ultra-casual, trendy casual or in a sports coat. Although this is marketed as unisex, I find it to be a bit more on the masculine side. If you like sweet tobacco scents, you should try a sample of this one.

My favorite fragrance. The dry down is soft but beautiful. I think this will be my signature scent. It is a sophisticated scent with a playful side. Scent off my skin and clothes is magical. I will respray just out of love for the scent. I cannot get enough of it. That warm gingerbread smell in the dry down is gorgeous. It wafts to the nose and I feel transformed. I cannot relate to comparisons to TF's TV. I cannot stand that scent. Yes, RR is on the expensive side but it's worth to me. 10/10 scent

This one starts very differently than Tobacco Vanille but the dry down on my skin is exactly the same. This is quite weird because the notes are not exactly the same, I guess honey gives the sweetness of vanilla, while tonka plays the role of cacao. Not sure why someone would prefer this to TV, maybe the price or the bottle could be a reason. It is very nice scent whatsoever. *This review was written after several full wearings of the perfume and not just after smelling this on paper or on wrist.

Love this. It has citrus in the top but quickly leaves to become a soft, powdery tobacco with a hint of sweetness. The honey is not prominent. It's there but not in a sickening sweet way. This entire Portraits line reminds me of Histoiries de Parfums. That kind of soft, powdery base. Of those I've tried so far, this is my favorite. It is not boring, gourmand or boisterous. In the complete dry down there is serious musk or civet. Six hours later: like vintage Habanita had sex with Salome.

To me, this smells nothing like TV. This is an extremely smooth, fairly linear beeswax, honeyed tobacco with some vanilla to give it that sweet finish. Yes, it has tobacco and vanilla but I find this to be more of a honey and beeswax scent instead. The drydown is literal heaven, because it gets the nice body from the vanilla and it grounds the scent. I will probably have to get this sooner rather than later in case it actually is discontinued. Amazing stuff.

One of the finest frags in my collection, the smell is heavenly and yeah it's got similarities to Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille in its dry down. A shame the incredible scent couldn't be matched by an equally incredible performance.. I wish this last longer. Edit: after few weeks of allowing this sit on my shelf, it's easily one of my favourite at the moment, the performance is not bad after all, 6 to 7 hours on my skin and lasts the whole day on clothes.

Love, love, love. Totally unisex. Sweet honey and smooth tobacco with warmth from the cinnamon and ginger, and a gorgeous depth from everything else. Everything combines to give a boozy feel, rum or cognac. Simply stunning. This will be worn a lot in the colder months and Christmas. Grab a bottle while you can. Edit 12 hours later and it’s still there as a skin scent.

This perfume is absolutely lovely. Fresh tobacco leaves, beeswax and honey and nice citrus there to balance it out. This is fragrance-wise a personal favourite, but the projection is non-existent on me and the scent quite literally disappears after about 30 minutes. For the price paid, I'd have expected better performance, a real shame.

Roaring Radcliff is a nice tobacco scent with a slightly gourmandish vibe, the beesway and honey combined with rum and tobacco makes it rather sweet but never cloying, i think it's a very nice scent but the price is rather high for a 75 ml bottle, and there are tobacco fragrances out there that projects and lasts way longer.

This has the similarities to TF tobacco vanille but its more of a smoother sweet version of it. Initially when I first sprayed it, I got a lot of rum but then quickly turned into a sweet honey/beeswax scent. Shorty after that the tobacco came in and made this quite mature. Varies in longevity 4-7hrs

Apt for older felines. Way overpriced for what it is. Very high quality, and deliciously blended, with a very cute bottle. Its a lil sickening if its hot outside, but the village is less powerful than one would expect. I love it tho... keep reaching for my wrist to sniff it

I bought full bottle after I sampled this in Rome airport and gosh what a nice scent. Very sophisticated, warm and classy. Beeswax and tobacco leaves dominate. Longevity 5-6 hours. Projection 2-3 hours. It's worth buying for those who like to smell elegant.

I’ve had 3 samples of this now and finally took the plunge and coughed up the expensive asking price. 100% amazing rich strong scent, not something I would wear daily but it does last all day and it does receive compliments. To date my favourite scent!

It's surprisingly pleasant. Not striking yet present at the right amount of gestalt. Honey, rum, tobacco and tonka played their part perfectly. Meanwhile a prominent creamy tone orchestrated all of them in such harmony. Great fragrance, really

Great lasting fragrance, with moderate projection. Sadly it is a discontinued fragrance as of December 2021. Smells of smokey honey, that has a warm touch from the spices and tobacco, followed by the sweetness of the honey and tonka beans

I’m going to have to agree that it is a play doh version of tabacco vanille. I can’t stand tobacco vanille. But I like this. Has a little gingerbread thrown in there as well. It doesn’t last long though. Thinking about a full bottle.

I tried the sample, the smell of sexy tobacco honey, I tried it with Tobacco Vanille TF, for me this smells sexier. but I heard that this perfume has been discontinued, very regretful, hopefully I can still find it another time.

At the moment I’m wearing TF - TV on my right hand and Roaring Radcliff on my left hand. They are very similar; however I prefere Radcliff, it is a bit smoother, and you can smell some woody notes in the background.

Zero similarity to TFTV Long: 2 days on my skin , but after 8 hours sit close but still radiates within arm lenght. Compliment monster. 10/10 Stephen.r: these kind of rev,. are the complete disaster for a community

This is simply put the best honey tobacco fragrance it's the most natural.The booze is done tastefully the beeswax ginger and cinnamon spices make it warm sweet but no juvenile.

Honey, what else can i say, do you want to smell like you’re inside of a beehive, baptized in honey, and then sprayed with more honey, this is honey if it was honey flavored.

I think this is the best of Penhaligons Portraits guys along with The Bewitching Yasmine.

Sprayed it on and immediately thought to myself: "Tobacco Vanille". It is very much in sweet and spiced tobacco category of fragrance. The opening is very reminiscent of the aforementioned Tom Ford, with maybe a touch of rum. I wouldn't call this an especially boozy fragrance, but my nose does not tend to pick up alcoholic notes very well. As it starts to dry down the ginger, cinnamon and tonka/honey create a very nice gingerbread accord alongside the tobacco. I also get quite a prominent beeswax note in the drydown, which is the main divergence from TV. I'm not especially fond of beeswax as a note to be honest, which did put me off a bit. The performance is not loud, but it will last for the whole night (this is an evening fragrance to me) which soft to moderate projection. At the end of the day, Roaring Radcliff smells great, but you will have smelled it before if you have been involved in this hobby for any length of time. It might be worth sampling if you're thinking of picking up Tobacco Vanille (or Tabac Rouge, etc.), but want to test the whole field before making a purchase. For me, the waxiness in the drydown means that there are better alternatives for my tastes. I love the baked goods vibe here, but I feel that that's also present elsewhere. I like it, but not bottle-worthy. (dislike/indifferent/like, but not BW/like a lot, potentially BW/love, definitely BW/masterpiece)

This is a decent scent and I’m not just saying that because of my usual enjoyment of all things Penhaligons, it really is. Starts out with a new approach which is typical of the house, complex yet understated and apart from fruity top notes and a tobacco/Tonka general nature, it’s something I hadn’t really come across before. However, after the first few minutes it settles and completely changes to a honied, more powdery but ultimately the same scent as TF Tobacco Vanille. I haven’t got a problem with this and even less so for two reasons, it’s not exactly the same and that it has a different opening and drydown, which we will get to in a moment. The problem is that on the whole is this a better fragrance than TV? I don’t really think so. It doesn’t quite have the same balls out strength although the longevity was excellent to be fair. The drydown was much more Tonka bean and a sweeter more playful vanilla than the Tom Ford. So in conclusion interesting opening which fools you into thinking it’s not a clone of TV, then the heart of it IS TV, then the drydown reminds you it isn’t with some softer, refined tones. A good effort, worth trying but I won’t be buying it.

This is a nice honey-tobacco fragrance which is clearly influenced by Tobacco Vanille. I don’t get any citrus at the top. It’s all rum and ginger to me. Then I get the honey and tobacco followed by the nice, clean amberwood and tonka bean. This fragrance is very smooth but I wished the tobacco pushed out a bit more. The ginger note is quite prominent here but executed well. Overall, I like this fragrance (I don’t love it) but I feel you need a cold weather environment for this one to shine. This will be too cloying in hot/warm weather. If you like this one, I think you’ll also like The Blazing Mister Sam and Tragedy of Lord George.

smells like chocolate violets to begin with. the tobacco leaves warms through with a dash of chai latte. very sweet, thick, dry (dusty) and syrupy if all of those are possible. a bit Organza Indecence for men. there is something lost in the dry down for me. amber woods take hold, i smelt them after 20 minutes, before i saw the notes. cannot for the life of me smell tarragon and i love tarragon, i smell a nice tea note instead. a truly pleasant fragrance, but the ingredients perhaps spoil the refinement of this sweet powder for me.

Smells expensive, and it is! Naughty. Perhaps more roguish than dashing, but distinctive, and slightly unusual. Will make quite an impression at first, then it settles down. Take the scenic route to your chair. Announce your arrival without stinking the whole place out. Anyone that likes it can always come and sit closer.

Coca-cola and honey. Very pleasant and as unisex as it gets. May easily become full bottle worthy as I explore it a little more with my sample. I do have to admit that the longevity is disappointing for the price point. 2 hours in and it becomes a faint honey scent.

Performance is the biggest issue with this fragrance. The smell is a perfect 10 but lacks any depth as longevity and sillage at best is moderate. You can pretty much look at this as a Tobacco Vanille Fraiche.

A soft balance of sweet tobacco and thick set honey. Warm and elegant, probably works best in cool to cold days.

My fourth review on Fragrantica is coming with a fragrance I just picked up in 10ml from eBay. I didn't even realise this was discontinued at the time of purchasing so that has made trying this more interesting. When the fragrance arrived, knowing it was discontinued, I had my guard up about fakes. I tested it, and got hit with this massive aniseed/liquorice smell and I thought, "Great, I've been scammed here... how is this honey, tobacco and cinnamon?" Before messaging the seller, I had another look at the notes, only to notice that 'Tarragon' smells like aniseed and liquorice! Panic over. That meant that the next day, I had to try this fragrance out properly. As previously stated, this opens with a massive punch of what I now know to be tarragon. To me, this is not pleasant at all. Smells like an old pharmacy that sells aniseed balls. No other reviews seem to mention how overwhelming this is. I will continue to edit this post throughout the day as the scent develops. 30 minutes later and the tarragon seems to have finally died down a little. I'm getting some more ginger and rose now, maybe some cinnamon too. No rum or tobacco however which is slightly disappointing. At the moment, what I'm getting is sweet, cinnamon/rose, and maybe the slight spiciness is coming from the tarragon at the start. After a few hours, it did settle down into a nice honey scent, and I could smell the tonka at the base. As far as the leather and tobacco though, I didn't get this unfortunately. 6 hours later and I'm left with a honey/beeswax skin scent, which is nice, but is it worth the money? No, it's not. Overall the fragrance is okay, nothing to write home about. The comments that are begging for this fragrance to come back don't make any sense to me, as I can see why it was discontinued in the first place. Performance is bad - becomes a skin scent after only a few hours after not really projecting more than a foot before that anyway. All I can say is, I won't be buying a full bottle, but I'm glad I've experienced this fragrance as it has taught me something new and just because other people like it, doesn't mean you have to as well. The 10ml bottle will sit nicely on display and that'll be all. I hope this helps.

This is quite to scent to unpack. I'm writing my review based on the Oil Impression version from Oil Perfumery. I've smelled a sample of the original and it's spot on. Now for the review.. this is a great scent hands down! It's pretty potent off the bat with the rum, ginger, cinnamon, and beeswax slapping you in the face. Its a darker mysterious and sophisticated scent imo. After about 2-4hrs or so, it begins to settle nicely and you start to smell more of the rose, gingerbread scent, tobacco, and honey come through. Longevity? 10+ hrs easily for me. This pretty much stays with hints of leather and tonka drifting by your nose. This is definitely a fall/winter scent. If you have cool spring nights where you live, then it'll work then too. This is a manly scent and I've gotten several compliments from ladies at work and out. Its my best winter scent to date. Fellas, if you are cooking dinner for your lady or on a night out, put on alil of this (neck/chest area). 4-6 hours later, she'll want to gobble you up lol. Don't sleep on it. Enjoy!

Over-composed to the point where it turns into a mess. A horrible grey, playdoh fennel scented, unpleasant experience. I feel there are too many of these portrait fragrances now. A lot of them are quite generic and don't seem very much like the classic Penhaligon fragrances. Most of them are well made, Lord George and Sohan are the highlights, a lot of the others are passable or have likeable elements. This one starts off ok, an over fussy floral. Later it developed into something that seemed like it was trying to be everything at once but failing at it. Metallic, marine, honey, tobacco, floral, aniseed, fruity, it is just too much and too badly composed. Like in Nausica where the giant world destroying monster is revived, but too early and it just melts and dies. Here we are at the bottom of the barrel. Hopefully Penhaligons will slow down or move on from all these portrait fragrances.

Ya know, this fragrance really chaps my hide! I bought an oil impression of this from Oil Perfumery and was instantly a fan. I know I had to have the real deal eventually. I ordered it and needless to say, I was severely let down. Yes, it smells wonderful no denying that!! The projection on this is about 10 inches it seems like. Longevity on my skin was about 4-6 hours. I was hoping that it would performance much better than it does. In a way, I feel like I was "sold a dream" but I understand that some fragrances become skin scents rather quickly. If only this juice had better sillage or something. Frustrating!! LOL

Notalara bakıp zengin , güçlü bir tütün odaklı parfüm bekliyorsanız üzülürsünüz. Alakası yok çünkü. Hatta tütün orada mı onu bile anlamak zor. Deri için de aynısı söz konusu. Sadece tonka on planda. Notalar çok hoş görünüyor ama sonuç oyle değil. Sise güzel ama parfüm bence vasat çizgisinde kalmış.

I had high expectations based on you tube reviews. Not sweet, somewhat smokey on my skin. Not what I expected from the note breakdown. This combines with poor longevity and sillage doesn't make this a bottle worthy purchase.

I agree with Jamie81 it is similar to Chergui. Despite what others have said, the HONEY IS PROMINENT and in A VERY SWEET WAY. Not sure how I feel about it yet, but sweet honey and baby powder is really not my thing.

The idea was there to be vintage and classy but it wasnt executed in a modern way. Profile wise it Reminds me of Ralph Lauren Chaps from the 70s but chaps is better.

Just bought a full bottle at fragrance net and have been testing it for the last 7 days. Well, the good news is the box is nicely designed and the initial smell when sprayed is awesome. For a parfum I would expect it to last more than 60 seconds before turning into a skin scent, but unfortunately that is what I have experienced. Let me add that my spray routine is about 20 sprays now with Radcliff. I can see a little shimmer of the parfum oil on my arm and wrist after this insane spray routine. Im trying to get some sort of longevity and silage but even with that many sprays its still a Zero on the longevity. As a skin scent it will last a few hours. The scent notes are as advertised, with emphasis on the sweet tobacco, but I also smell a little warm spiciness. The animalic and rum notes vanish about 30 seconds after the initial spray, and your left with lingering sweet honey tobacco, which is done right. The bottom line is I feel ripped off because there is absolutely zero longevity or silage. scent: 9/10 compliments: 2/10 longevity: 1/10 silage: 1/10 Summary: Beautiful overpriced skin scent. A rip off in nice box, bottle and cap. TF tobacco vanile will smell almost the same and have better performance. Mancera Red Tobacco will offer similar notes and last longer and get way more compliments in my opinion. . Nasomatto Baronda is nice rum, spicy pirates of the caribbean scent that might be money better spent. I own all of the above and am very disappointed with Radcliff.

A review of a clone of Roaring Radcliff called Georgian's The Lion Heart by Armaf: Fragrance Note Pyramid: Top: Bergamot, Cinnamon. Middle: Tobacco, Ginger, Rose. Base: Honey, Tonka, Amber Wood, Leather. Bottle Size: 100ml. Price: $38. This moves from Tobacco Vanille to Naxos to Herod. Yes, I know, I know. That sounds great, doesn't it😊 On first spray you're thinking this is just another take on Tobacco Vanille - a lighter, sweeter, less linear version. Wait about two hours and you start smelling the honey and cinnamon more prominently, balancing out the scent of tobacco. The sweetness is reminiscent of Naxos. In the late dry-down it might be the rose and Tonka bean that lifts the scent to something akin to Herod. I know there's no rose note in Herod, but the way it's blended here, it appears to be the note - along with the Tonka bean I suspect - that transitions the honeyed tobacco to a scent quite close to Herod. All the while maintaining that Tobacco Vanille backbone. I must've sniffed both my arms a thousand times; it is that beautiful a fragrance. I'd say more masculine. Georgian's The Lion Heart lasts at least 12 hours - I was still smelling it on me long after I'd showered. Certainly not redundant if you love tobacco fragrances, like I do, or if you have any or all of the three others I have mentioned in my review.
