Sports Car Club

I bought this for my hubby and we both really like it! It reminds me of a reworked, more masculine Juniper Sling, in that it’s very fresh and aromatic. It’s definitely pine forward, but there’s a warmth and sweetness from the patchouli that’s quite appealing. The eucalyptus and camphor provides an almost minty undercurrent that’s quite unusual and pleasant—it opens my nose in a cooling way that contrasts pleasantly with the patch, pine and pepper warmth. Nicely balanced! The dry down is warm pine and lasts 8+ hours. Moderate sillage. I understand why some might be put off by the Ambrox note—it could lend a generic quality; however, it’s strongest on first application and then melds with the other notes. I think it serves as a bridge between the warm and cool notes. And the the eucalyptus/camphor may hint at muscle rub, but to be honest, it’s not strong enough to really warrant that comparison to my nose. Without it, that bracing, clear headed feeling would be gone. There are hints or nods to other perfumes, but this really is unique to me.

Really interesting Penhaligon's scent, not for everyone, and poorly branded. Very aftershavey, but also SUPER aldehyde-y, which makes it feel sweet, but in a sticky, transparent, sweaty, summery kind of way. This is a very gender-neutral, young fragrance IMO... 22 year old NB summer in LA, dangly earring vibes, not 42 year old man with a kiss of grey in his mustache whizzing by in a vintage car. Like I get that that doesn't exist within the Penhaligon's universe of characters, but still. Very tropical fruit, eucalyptus, and pachouli. I like it for layering with something more woody or spicy that needs a little lightness, or maybe feels a but too mature for the situation.

I finally broke down and bought a bottle as it has been discontinued and stock is basically gone. Sports Car Club is so different than anything else Penhaligon’s has made. In fact, it is totally different than any other fragrance I have tried. Penhaligon’s fragrances are stupidly expensive, but I just love this one. EDIT: This was rereleased in April/May 2026. Completely different packaging and I haven’t tried it to see if it is the same or similar.

This stuff is GREAT. I was lured in by the 'sports car' name and stayed because it smells better than most anything I've had pass across my nose; the blend of notes in this all work together to make a well-balanced fragrance that is sweet without being sickly sweet and woody without feeling like I'm sitting in a pine forest. Most of all, it smells sophisticated which is something to be considered given its price point. 10/10

this is one of my fav Penhaligon by far, performance is good, it stays in the sofa.. it lingering in the house for a day.. and I like the design too It's very fresh, tempting and "spikey" but not spicey and it's very unique, I havent find anything similar like this scent before Unfortunately, it is a limited edition, so not easy to find, also a bit pricey to me

it's green - piney, medicinal (not in a bad way), a bit sweet, also has gasoline-y smells idk where it is come from, balsamic, aromatic and a bit sweet. good balance here, but not for everyone. it's either love or hate, but i love it on myself! might be one of my signature scent for my weekend

I love this Sports Car Club and always get compliments when I wear it. I’m drawn to woodsy scents but can rarely wear them due to skin allergies. For whatever reason this worked for me and I couldn’t be happier. So sad this only had a limited run.

Was a blind purchase but couldn’t have turned out better, definitely unisex, probably something I would wear on a nice night out, overall super happy and a new favourite for sure!

2026 reborn and it's a reissue, but the original perfumer was the "perfume Witch" Annick Menardo. I'm a little disappointed that the bottle design has been changed for the worse.

In my opinion, this is a bit too sweet. If it could be a bit less sweet, it would be better and more masculine. But overall, the scent is pleasant. 8.5/10

Very nice fragrance. This reminds me of Dolce Gabbana K EDP, but a bit brighter. The flacon is attractive, too.

Spicy sweet freshness!! It starts a bit like old drugstore camphore candies, (yes I’m that old), sweet but medicinal, still very likable... but the magic begins on the drydown... it’s all about a spicy sweetness from the pink pepper, the ambroxan and the musk, which together with the eucalyptus create a recipe for perfection. This perfume is not so sweet as to make it only a cold day scent, and also not so fresh as to make it only a sporty fragrance, in reality Sports Car Club is a very well balanced juice ideal to be used preferably daytime, in any season and in any weather. I really liked it very much!! Unfortunately it has a big drawback... as with almost all spicy fresh scents, projection is very limited, almost intimate, and longevity is non existent... after just two hours it couldn’t be detected on my skin, it requieres constant reapplying in order to last throughout the day. Penhaligon’s did an amazing job on the scent, but a terrible one on performance.

Sweet and slightly grassy and peppery cypress, and a fresh mild menthol background on a clean wood base. Almost like a pine and vetiver clash. Very nice, and it lasts a decent while I guess with the synthetics added. I really like it, but I already have fragrances in this style already so given the high-ish price I am skipping. If it was maybe 1/2 to 2/3 what it goes for retail I would pick it up.

This is one of the better performing frags from this house (it survived three scrubbings on my arm) and it smells pretty good. I'm not a fan of the name and presentation. I didn't pick up much eucalyptus at all but it does manage to stay a bit fresh, I think it's wearable any time year round.

Surprisingly fruity background on the skin while on paper it’s chemical, uninspiring green. As always with Penhaligon’s, no performance. A skin scent from the start

A genetically homogeneous forest, too pristine to be naturally occurring. Dr. Lewis Dodgson from Jurassic World Dominion wears this.

Very lovely scent , intense but refreshing Reminds me of a beautiful Mediterranean garden

Sweeter than you'd think from the listed notes

A SOLID NEW PENHALIGON I had a difficult time wrapping my nose around what notes I was experiencing. Even now, after reading the notes - I still don't truly recognize any of them individually as I sniff my wrists. But this is not a negative. This is a fresh, day scent - male oriented, easy-to-wear (fine for office, etc). It's not a must-have. But if I was given a bottle as a gift - I'd wear it. Far from ground breaking. And not nearly as interesting as Endymion. It's another easy-to-wear Penhaligon for men - which seems to be one of the strengths of this house. Definitely worth a sample!

Spring scent, masculine leaning. I could wear it for a day out and leisure. Inoffensive enough to wear it at the office. It reminds me of those fresh breath candies, pine and eucalyptus are prominent. It is rather intimate and of medium performance for an edp. I think for a price range below £80 one can find something similar or go straight for pino sylvestre. I might give it a second try for a new review since I only got a sample.

Rather sweet but pleasant, but frankly, doesn't really justify the price, as there's nothing much to talk about the scent. Would wear it at home or on errands but that's about it. The bottle's very nice though so might get one if it has a smaller size.

Bleh. I had high hopes for this one. I keep striking out with Penhaligon’s. It’s a confusing fragrance. I’m not really smelling much eucalyptus, pine or patchouli (which were the things I most wanted). What I am smelling is fig. Fig, which I do not care for. Fig, which makes this fragrance sweet. Fig, which is not listed as a note. It’s a mild, masculine leaning, “men’s aftershave” smell with the faintest woodiness and prominent fig. Would perform best as a summer fragrance as the heat and humidity make it stronger whereas inside in brisk air conditioning, it is almost undetectable. Almost like a bowl of grandma’s potpourri with a dash of fig. Quite the bummer as I blind bought a bottle.

Don't waste your money, it smells great but like a lot of the offerings from penhaligons it immediately turns into a skin scent before vanishing altogether, it has no silliage at all. What a shame

A sweet, almost fruity fougere. This is definitely one of Penhaligon’s most youthful fragrances, and yet, I can’t imagine a young person wanting to wear this. As others have stated, the notes pyramid is way off. The “pine” is much more reminiscent of a pine tree air freshener that dangles from a rear view mirror, and the “eucalyptus” seriously smells like Bengay or a muscle rub. But it’s sweet, overwhelmingly sweet, and it shouldn’t be. Given the name, I was expecting something classically masculine and evocative; maybe a fir-and-leather old man scent, or something like Floris’ “1962”, or original “Polo”. I would’ve been happy with any of those, I love classy old man fragrances. This is not that. Pine air freshener, Juicy Fruit gum, and a camphorous muscle cream. Dries down into a very middle-of-the-road amber. I’m unimpressed.

This is the first Penhaligons fragrance I can say I have been severely disappointed in, I expected a vintage scent with that new car smell freshness. The base of the scent seems like it would lend itself to this type of profile, however the eucalyptus absolutely blows everything else away in it, I have been suffering with a stuffy nose, not anymore thanks to this, which I don't think is what a fragrance should be good for. This could have been great, but unfortunately seems to have taken a wrong turn somewhere and crashed horribly. As always though, the presentation is second to none.

It opens up to my nose with a Patchouli Pineapple combo for the morphing into a fresh-sweet-balsamic experience with the eucalyptus and fir-balsam. You feel the diffusion of the Ambroxan (more like Ambrofix to me) which helps to sustain the freshness throughout the hours. Tried on a paper-strip only and for some reason there is an awkward accord to my nose that feels like tuna chunk. Must be just me :)

Yikes. I tested today and smh what is Penhaligon's thinking? It feels like its from a completely other brand. I've worn their fragrances for years and normally love the new releases (although the animal heads started to blend together for me...) I must have smelled this from a dozen other houses in the past few years.

I usually avoid perfumes where, if someone asked me what I was wearing, I would be embarrassed to say the name (I love Viking, but the name is about at my limit). If it turns out that "sports car club" smells really good, I think I'd just have to pray nobody ever asks me what it is.

This is what I imagine british motorsport legends like Jackie Stewart, Stirling Moss and others would wear. Not James Hunt though, he’d probably wear sauvage 💀

I remember liking this when I tried it in person. I recall it being quite fresh and a tad sweet too. A true shame that it was a limited run.

To be honest, my main reason for buying this was for the bottle.The scent is nice so it was kind of worth it.

camphor and pine. Some would say it smells like old man's Bengay but it is refined and very wearable.
