A mio parere, definire Lady Blanche un profumo esclusivamente femminile è un errore concettuale. Come per molte creazioni di Amouage, anche qui siamo davanti a una fragranza di nicchia che non possiede un genere espresso: si adatta alla pelle di chi la indossa, esprimendosi ogni volta in modo unico. Su di me, Lady Blanche manifesta un equilibrio perfetto tra delicatezza floreale e una leggera vena speziata, creando un’aura distinta, elegante ma mai leziosa. Non c’è nulla di “puramente femminile” in questa composizione: è un profumo unisex autentico, destinato a chi sa apprezzare le sfumature e rifiuta le etichette imposte. È una scelta perfetta per chi cerca qualcosa di nobile e discreto, capace di lasciare il segno senza alzare la voce.

Opens with the fresh floral and green spiciness of spring flowers; fresh cut daffodils in a vase and a distant aroma of a hyacinth breezing in as its warms in the spring sun on a kitchen windowsill somewhere, the daffodil sap still sticky on your fingers. The sandalwood in the base and green, earthy, herbaceous Angelica pull the subtle flowers together into a beautiful, calming, aromatic, slightly spicy effervescent floral accord. This continues on into the dry down with a little bit of creamy orris butter, some sweet violet, powdery iris, green damp angelica.. it’s refreshing, cool and clean yet gentle and very much at one with nature, like I’ve just sprayed a pure botanical on my skin, with crushed petals distilling in the bottle. This is an understated, elegant and unique shear perfume of fresh, green, cool, dewy muted powdery florals. I actually think it’s quite unisex and yet I feel confidently feminine wearing it. I can imagine Lady Blanche sitting on a blanket at the side of a large pond on her estate, a white lace parasol blocks the sun from her face as she gazes onto to a beautiful scene, reminiscent of Monet’s The Waterlily Pond. She is poised in ladylike elegance yet a little curl on the corner of her smile indicates that she just might be full of mischief. Whilst the other ladies walked, she rode, defiantly astride her horse definitely not sidesaddle, on her way here. I found this perfume a beautiful and divine skin scent. I could have happily breathed it in all day long. Alas, unlike a Monet painting, its long lasting oil medium that has lived on for over a century later for all to enjoy, this beautiful yet light fragrance disappears all too quickly. Frustratingly so. Lady Blanche has got her revenge, she’s rode off to frolic with the stable hand and left me olfactorily bereft!

The Revenge of Lady Blanche is a well-blended fresh and warm scent. It is a rare composition and even rarer a good one among its counterparts. Mugler aura is also a blend of freshness and warmness but it is not as well-blended as this one though it is still a good perfume. Its freshness and warmness are kind of separate. What I mean is that you smell the freshness in one sniff and the warmness in another. However this one is not. The freshness and warmness come to your nose at the same time. I don't know how they do this but indeed it is a succeed. It is a confident, ambitious beautiful woman who has her own career and life. She is not a dependent of men. The freshness is her in daytime, acting as a protective shield covering all her secrets and ambition underneath. On the other hand, the warmness resembles her dangerously beauty and deadly lust for money and power which are unknown to anyone. But this is exactly what makes her tempting and beguiling. On the test paper, it is sometimes fresh and sometimes warm after dry down. I know it seems weird but that is what I got from the fragrance. Nonetheless, on my skin it is much warmer than fresher that the freshness almost disappear or covered by the warmness and I could only smell a hint of freshness although it still smelled good and blended well with my own chemical. I have to say it smells much much better on skin that on test paper so you have to try it on skin to see its amazing performance.

There is beauty in simplicity. For the first hour, when I close my eyes and inhale, I can smell honeysuckle, and maybe orchids? Orris is the note is listed on the Penhaligon's website. The florals feel photorealistic, as though I'm in a riotous flower garden. There is also the "powdery" or "soap suds" note/feel, which I've picked up on in the other Penhaligon scents (Empressa and Luna). For me, these notes often burn my nose or make it feel like my nostrils are drying out. Here, though, I didn't find it overwhelming or unpleasant. The website also lists a sandalwood base, and I think this reveals itself after an hour or so. After two hours, the florals fade away, and there is just a gentle sandalwood/musk left behind. Hour three onward is a "skin scent", an occasional gentle whiff of a molecule (iso-e super?) with only a hint of florals remaining. This is my dream flower scent. I wish it were longer lasting, though at the same time, the softness means that I would feel confident wearing this EDT anywhere, from a job interview to a date. I don't pick up any sugar, fruit, or spiced notes, which means that this one is probably never going to be a favorite for the teens–20s crowd (as opposed to Flowerbomb, for example). For me, though, I'm glad those notes aren't in this scent. 10/10 for its elegance and simplicity. 7/10 for its longevity, knowing that it's an EDT.

The Revenge of Lady Blanche is a lovely green floral featuring some of my favourite notes. Hyacinth is an underrated note that brings me back to springtime during my childhood, while iris is perhaps my favourite note of all. Here, they meld together beautifully, making for a high-quality springtime scent in the manner of Chanel No. 19. RLB opens with powdery, green-tinged iris, floral and delicate. The hyacinth follows, bold and heady, even slightly waxy, but also very green and sap-like. The pollen-y narcissus emerges after a little while, very realistic and slightly hay-like, rounding out the florals to perfection. It fades fairly quickly, becoming a soft, powdery skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is a feminine springtime scent for everyday use. A simple, beautiful springtime bouquet, RLB is my favourite from Penhaligon's so far. It is a little sheer and subtle for my liking - I would have liked a mossy chypre base to ground it - but ultimately, this is a top-notch green floral freshie. 4/5.

Sometimes I feel like I can barely smell it at all... but then I can? like the closer / more I try to smell it, it disappears. But then if I just wildly wave my wrist around/near my face... there it is again. It’s very slippery & elusive. I love Penhaligon’s; beautiful pkging, iconic, historical etc. - sampled a ton , just wish I could afford all the ones on my list lol - their prices can get ridiculous & not sure the frags are groundbreaking - but great quality, approachable & beautiful none the less - like Blanche is similar to other frags but it doesn’t make Blanche any less stunning. Its similar to Dolceaqua by Masque Milano - DA is slightly more defined, potent, long lasting, a bit more soft, soapy, fresh powdery etc. I can pinpoint *exactly* where I sprayed it lol def not as evasive as Blanche. But Blanche is still beautiful - they both are! Def similarities between them but if you’re obsessed with powdery florals as much as I am and can find them both for a good price? yes own both!

This is seriously one of my absolute favorite fragrances and I've only had it for 48 hours. This is completely unlike ANYTHING I own and it is breathtaking. It is so fresh and clean while simultaneously woody and dark. Complicated and ever changing it does not disappoint. When I sprayed it onto my wrist I first smelled greenery, fresh and damp; lovely. Then after maybe 10 minutes it had morphed into something dark and mysterious. Its woody and earthy notes drew me in closer and with every inhale my eyes would roll back. The warmth of every exhale brought this to life little by little until now, when compared to the opening, it is completely unrecognizable and undeniably seductive. Dangerously addictive and ever so entrancing. This is a gem and should definitely be experienced. If this is Lady Blanche's revenge then her love would be the death of me.

~WHEN THEY GO LOW, WE GO [TO] HIGH [TEA].~ To me, Lady Blanche is a mischievous aristocrat; poised and ladylike, can be cutting with but a smile on her face. This opens quite powdery, the orris really shining here, in a powdery way akin to baby oil (but of high quality), then dries down in a beautiful way. I find orris generally to feel warmer than iris, but this skews more cold like I'm more used to with iris. I'm not particularly into powdery scents, but this is one I do love. Pleasant throughout, and then the green really comes through in the dry down. Like a powdery bouquet of flowers. Very elegant. Very refined. Very high tea vibes. update: I found myself reaching for this today, and 2nd around, I found it much more approachable. It's such a lovely green floral. It felt less powdery and more green second time around. Fresh and green.

She's floral, floral, floral and I am so here for it. She's a punch of hyacinth, a sorely underused note in perfumery in my opinion, with some buttery and eventually slightly powdery narcissus. She's got a LotV sensibility to her, almost with a touch of tuberose. Otherwise, though, it's not like big white florals that many people are wary of; it's dewy and flowery without being indolent, jammy, sugary, fluffy, or bubblegum-like. The angelica gives a zippy little green undertone to the perfect springtime bouquet. Bright, fresh, light, and wonderfully like the sunniest day of spring. I wish for all that burst of fresh flowers it had a bit more lasting power, but that barely matters when the scent is that lovely. If you love big florals, she is a must-try. 9/10.

This is the closest I've come in my quest for a florist shop fragrance and I want it! I've tried others: Matin d'Orage by Annick Goutal is another contender, but despite a magnificent drydown, I dislike the waxy/thick petal opening if that makes any sense; Rain Cloud by Perfumer H is another beautiful option but more evocative of the hot humidity of a garden after a summer storm than the cold green smell of a florist shop. Lady Blanche might be a bit more severe but I find it so elegant. It's a perfect green floral for someone like me, who is more into dry woods, warm ambers, and crisp green botanicals. However, I'm not a fan of the Portraits bottles (I might be the only one!) and I so wish it bore the same old-fashioned design as Penhaligon's Bouquets...

Revenge is an enticing, cold scent- a lightly sweet veneer masking a calculative, penetrating quality. It is one of the few creatively named perfumes that truly lives up to its name. I feel wicked wearing this as a male- and it's a delicious, empowering wickedness. Perhaps the narcotic Narcissus has drugged me, but I am a willing victim-no, a vessel, for this vengeful spirit of a perfume. With the exception of Nasomatto's Narcotic Venus, no other perfume has drugged me so. As with all scents, try it on your skin. The beauty is in getting the narcotic note, and being drugged. If you don't get that note on your skin, don't bother. Otherwise, by all means, arm yourself with the greatest scented poison-dipped dagger.

Oh, the opening is so fun! Narcissus and Iris as you've never experienced them before. I felt like Alice in Wonderland in a surreal meadow of flowers and plants that make you feel more and more curious and constantly surprised by the complexity of their scent. Well guys I must test it again to be able to explain myself better than saying it's dreamy. At least the opening. Please be patient. The only thing is that the dry down was a bit linear and also "unrevengeful", unlike promised. It reminded me of other less interesting scents of this category. Still.. it is worth the try. You'll love the initial cocktail of wonder.

Addictive smelling. I really like the scent, but it needed something more for me to want to buy a bottle. It was well done, but very ladylike, daytime, pearls, ribbons. Blanche's revenge isn't very poisonous, as I'd expect revenge to be. Served cold, right? This is served in a bed of flowers, pulverized and blended with Penhaligon's blending perfection, but flowers, nonetheless. Don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous scent, but unlike many others from this house, it lacked polarizing note, for a layer of depth that I needed to be persuaded to buy a bottle. Blanche, get some b*tch lessons!

I wanted to love this so much, and I do, for all of the 1 hour it lasts on my skin. That is my only complaint about Lady Blanche, as she is quite lovely, if you adore the natural smell of the Iris and Hyacinth flowers, as I do. The scent is like an early spring bouquet. It starts sharply, but immediately settles down nicely, and as it waves farewell I’m left with a soft powdery daffodil. This is a perfume I might consider full bottle worthy, for no other reason then to smell my favorite flowers. from my favorite time of year, at any time and as a boost during the winter blues.

I am really loving Lady Blanche. It opens sharp, damp, vegetal and earthy, and the purple flowers come through really strongly. Then it softens into a beautiful airy scent. It’s quite powdery too. As I’m smelling it now, it’s in the middle/early dry down and I’m getting a super realistic/natural smelling lilac scent. There’s still a touch of the damp earthiness. In the deep dry down it becomes very musky and soft and reminds me of Glossier You. It evokes enchanted woods, where purple flowers grow in mossy damp earth. A fairy would smell like this. So gorgeous.

This fragrance is a beautiful blend of photorealistic, green, and slightly earthy iris and daffodil and to me, it leans more toward iris. It smells both green and fresh, and it’s definitely on the cold side. The note of hyacinth is not stated officially, but it can be perceived along with the note of daffodil (narcissus). For someone like me who looks for natural-smelling scents, this was perfect. There’s no sweetness at all, and in terms of longevity, it performs really well. A full bottle worthy scent for sure.

This frag for me is the definition of love it for sniff. It is not a scent profile I would normally go for, but there’s something so sophisticated and irresistible about it. The powdery aspect just pair so well with the green notes, I can’t help but hold my head high when I wear this. I purchased it practically immediately. There’s an almost nuttiness to it that I find incredibly fresh and cozy at the same time. This is the most powerful, dainty, refined scent. Yeah, she would be named Lady Blanche.

Very green, potent and feminine. Sharp but playful in an almost deceiving way. Lady Blanche has many faces, she is posh and well put together, but she can also be ruthless and heartless. I think the backstory Penhaligon’s have created for this perfume matches it very well. I think it works in every season, but it shines in Summer evenings and nights. This is a “you need to take me seriously” scent, but it conveys a certain vulnerability at the same time. Perfect for fancy date nights.

This is an amazing clean perfume! Honestly feels like you just came from a spa in the country side! I love perfumes from British brands, they just know how to be classy and not overbearing! This particular one is strong with the artemisia on my skin making it greener and the iris that is balancing it to more powdery. Overall i have a soapy feeling in the best possible way! I definitely suggest it although it is not a loud perfume (stays on the skin) , its there for hours and hours.

I fell in love with this scent since I picked up a tester set from the mall six months ago. I loved it so much but the price stopped me but I finally gave in and bought a bottle yesterday and I have no regrets. It’s a beautiful,feminine fragrance. I feel I have been transported to a fried full of flowers. This scent makes me so happy. The only downside of it is that I have to reapply it after four to five hours which I don’t mind but some people may find that a bit tedious

I love this one. It combines two of my favorites; the Prada Iris and Chanel 19 EDT. Certain facets of it, in fact, smell closer to the vintage Chanel 19 EDT than the reformulated iteration that I currently own. I have a 2 ml. sample of this and I'm going to need more of it - much sooner rather than later. Pretty sure it's not sold in my country and in any case the cost of a FB is prohibitive so I will have to get creative, but when there's a will there's a way..

Very interesting fragrance. It opens with a sharp, bitter and biting green note reminiscent of the name and an obscure intention. As the fragrance dries down, the sweet, beautiful powdery and vulnerable floral notes emerge and conceal the bitter greenness, though it still remains throughout the duration. A very fresh, innocent and feminine scent character with a youthful and dewy texture that almost overshadows the thorny opening. Such a cool concept!

Three notes. Amazing, long lasting, very feminine perfume. I had a similar experience as others here. First try of my sample from the official Penhaligons 'Portrait Perfume Library', I hated it. Second try got me interested. Third try (today) won me over. I'm a male, and I liked how it developed on my skin. I kept smelling my wrist all the time. Beautiful florals with an added "je ne sais quoi".

Tried it once - didn’t like it Tried second time- didn’t like On the third try I fell in love. It’s so beautiful. It does have a spicy punch in the dry down. It really is narcotic, like someone said already. It’s feminine, but I can see a man wearing it too. I have several Penhaligon fragrances, and most of them are from portraits - tho one is on top of my P’s choice

It smells like the richer and more elegant version of L’infusion d’Iris by Prada. It’s like you are an 19th century Victorian Lady strolling through your garden in chilly spring morning and the earth is still wet from last night’s rain. I absolutely love Penhaligon’s and to me they have elegant scents that are absolutely worth the price tag if you can afford it.

In duty free, chose this because my grandmother was named Blanche, and we were very close. Miss her terribly. I am pleasantly surprised I love it as much as I do. Came to look at the notes comparing it to Prada infusion d'iris and Chanel No19, both of which I love. My other grandmother was named Constance, will have to look into that one as well.

I ordered a 2ml sample and the Drydown is heavenly ,clean clouds with a lining of silver musk and indescribable love. My only worry is in full bottle it would possibly take a long time to ripen to the same depth, as often I have noticed full.bottles aren't as nice yet, and thr samples have had exposure to air and aging so like fine wine.

the first two minutes are the perfect green, snapped stem, spring flowers. then it's a beautiful rice note, and then a sandalwood skin scent. it's gone after two hours, but the evolution of it in the first ten minutes is perfect, so i'm quite disappointed that it doesn't have better silliage. it still is one of my favorites, though.

One does get a mild N°19 impression from this. It's not unwelcome, but it also doesn't separate itself for the $150 less fragrance to justify the cost. Its gorgeous and lasts a bit longer, but that's it. Perhaps reasonable if you don't have the Chanel and wanted something that lasted longer than 5 hours. Not identical, mind you.

The iris-narcissus combo is magic! I’ve been thinking of ordering Le Labo’s Iris, but this one is so much better. It’s an anytime iris perfume that never fails to satisfy. EdPFM’s Iris Poudre has been my ultimate iris fragrance for quite some time, but now it’s a dead heat between that one and this one. Stunning.

Lovely, grown-up chypre, with green floral and orris notes. It opens brightly and stays fairly linear with a medium sillage. It lasts about 7 hours on my skin before become too much of a skin scent. I wear this one to work. It is perfect in the summer or the autumn for me.

This perfum is the total opposite of my taste profile. And still, there is something beautiful and timeless, something eternal, that makes me fall in love with this, again and again, and never let me go. Elegance. <3

One of my favorites! Starts very interesting, reminds me of fresh paint)) Then it opens with yellow flowers and I begin hear the bouquet of hyacinth, iris, narcissus and that paint note. I love it!

Green powdery floral. Like a mix of Chanel no 19 and Prada infusion. Very classy indeed. Not for everyone for sure. If it was stronger would be super revenge for the office.

An hour after application and I can barely smell it. Defintely a skin scent. It smells good, though. Great even! But I get no hyacinth.

Starts off very powdery iris, turns almost aquatic and musky, like skin after a long bubble bath. Lovely!!

The first hour of The Revenge of Lady Blanche is promising: bitter green sap of hyacinth with a subtle powdery texture, almost like those in vintage green floral fragrances but not quite as harshly soapy; velvety petals of lily-of-the-valley scattered within, while the golden hay nuance of narcissus lies underneath. The whole effect is like a modern ballad of spring blossoms, lively yet polished as well. These spring blossoms becomes gently honeyed roughly 2 hours in, before merging together into an iris/laundry white musk in the next 9 hours of long dry down. The laundry-like white musk doesn't smell aggressively sharp, thankfully. Instead, it's rather smooth and fluffy, which reminds me of the diaphanous LM Parfums Chemise Blanche. There's occasionally some metallic/citrus-y aldehyde dancing around the edges, which also makes me think of Byredo Blanche, although Lady Blanche is much less muddy and more translucent. In its final hours, the white musk becomes slightly creamier, warmer and sweeter, as rose and a tonka-like golden powdery note become more noticeable. The sillage is relatively close in general, and the longevity is around 11 hours. I enjoyed the opening phase of The Revenge of Lady Blanche a lot, since hyacinth and narcissus are among my favourite floral notes. Moreover, the bitter sap of green floral fits perfectly the murderous backstory of the cunning aristocratic woman imagined by Penhaligon's. Unfortunately, the clean, almost innocent dry down, as pleasant as it is, didn't live up to the PR story, as if the revenge was only an intention, but never made its way to the eventual execution of the plan. If you happen to be looking for a clean, modern, elegant green floral/white musk fragrance, I think The Revenge of Lady Blanche worths a try. But I would also suggest trying a few others in the same genre, as I do believe that there are other more sophisticated options at a more reasonable price.

For classical iris/powdery/purple florals fans, The Revenge Of Lady Blanche will be perfection in their collection! Also, for a perfume with the word white in the name, I was expecting a mix of white flowers, instead we have purple flowers. Compared with the rest of the Scent Library female scents, The Revenge Of Lady Blanche seems to be different, very classic and powdery, and less designer like. It reminds me slightly of some Chanels I have smelled in passing, but most iris fragrances are not really my thing... I like it more than the Chanels, because The Revenge Of Lady Blanche doesn’t have aldehydes mixed in. This is a true purple flowers dominant perfume with a hint of spice and green aspect, but very smooth and silky almost. To be honest, I like it more than I anticipated when I checked out the notes, but not enough to purchase a full bottle. It’s very nice and feminine and feels timeless. But I like other florals more than the combo of iris/hyacinth that’s at the core of this fragrance. Like the other Penhaligons I’ve tried so far, it’s a more subtle scent, with moderate longevity and intimate sillage. Might be a good alternative, and slightly cheaper, for those eye watering Les Exclusives from Chanel.

I collect every perfume that has resemblence with my beloved Prada Infusion d'iris. There is Chanel no:19 poudre as usual. There is this niche cousin YSL Trench and now the little darling Penhaligon. All these four perfumes have their iris freshly cut. I became obsessed with iris after Prada and began searching for iris based perfumes. Mostly i found myself displeased with them as iris is generally combined with carroty, sticky undertones. a make up cake, like the make up bag smell of an old lady. These irises that i am disapointed with are; FM iris poudre, hermes hiris, guerlain L’Heure Bleue and some other famous that i don't remember. There is this sharp decisive factor with iris. You are either in one team or another. Penhaligon is Prada İris with a beautiful soapy start which comes from narcisus i think. If you like those iris perfumes i mentioned you will like Penhaligon. Note down this if ever one of them discontinue. Unfortunately i have not found a cheaper alternative yet.

I don't find this similar to Chanel 19, other than the fact there's a distinct iris. It's cleaner and less complex than that, less earthy (no moss, leather or galbanum)it also has a slight sweetness, like Iris Prima but far more crisp, less sweet, powdery and soft. The hyacinth stands out for me - it's a very spring-like perfume, the narcissus isn't animalic or rich (as it is in Lumiere Noire for example). It's elegant, cool and I think more contemporary than vintage in style. The green-ness is quite naturalistic, very much like the scent of bluebells, not too 'bathroom soap' though since the iris adds its perfumy dry powderiness. I like it, I'd say the mood is slightly formal and definitely daytime in spring, similar to comments below I don't find it very vengeful!

Mom gave me a bottle of this and had it sitting in my closet for a while without using it because I wasn’t a huge fan of the super soapy and sharp narcissus smell. I forgot about it until one day it occurred to me that I can layer it with another scent, because I felt like it was missing something. I figured citrus would be the perfect top note pairing with this, and I was right! Now on top of it I spray Sun by Lush and it brightens up the scent and brings it to a whole new life! Absolutely love it, energizing and uplifting. Only issue is both perfumes are not long lasting at allllll, several minutes later they’re hard to detect, I’m gonna use them for an energizing scent boost since I have them but definitely will not repurchase.

My experience is similar to that of Fatima D! I got a sample of Lady Blanche out of curiosity simply because I love her daughter (in Penhaligon's Portrait series) Duchess Rose so much lol. I initially thought Lady B was "perfectly wearable", that's it. Tried it a couple of times, started liking it, but kept thinking "it's really lovely, but not me". Now I've used it for 4-5 times, she's getting under my skin! I LOVE Lady Blanche now; I might have to get the bottle. I see a Lady with impeccable manners who's perfectly composed, elegant, matronly, dignified, and discerning. She is parsimonious with her emotional reactions and dreadfully classy... That's Lady Blanche to me.

Upon the first sprays I get right away a cloud of white, musky florals. Reminded me of some already smelled fragrances from MFK and Van Cleef. Unfortunately not much develops after, I don’t get any woodiness in here, nor spicy green notes, and I did try it a couple of times and different days. An elegant and powdery bouquet. It has a clean scent reminiscent of lilies and hyacinths. I feel that the scent of tea is also hidden slightly. Classic and classy, this is my preferred strain. However, I wanted to feel the poison of this scent, "a lady planning to poison her husband." Regardless of the story, Blanche from Fragrance is simply a neat and elegant woman. And this scent is probably the kind of thing you can find better at a better price if you look around for vintage perfumes.

This is a very green floral with a sort of metallic musk to it. This is dry, powdery, and vintage with a soft woody touch. There’s a bit of an underlying alluring smokiness here too that’s hard to pinpoint. It has that locked away in an attic and forgotten about hazy nostalgic charm to it, it’s almost witchy, old ladyish but in a good way. I don’t think I love the scent but it’s a weird one I found myself going back to smell over and over again.

Eureka! I finally found how to enjoy this on me - hair. Generous, but diffused sprays. While I loved the idea of LB before, during, and after buying, the reality on my skin always turned into a juxtaposition of the childhood memory of Climat and a wet, cold, watery swamp of a sad hyacinth. However on hair it is splendidly elegant and slightly broken - exactly how I would describe the wake of a good revenge.

Fresh, clean, green, soapy. Subtle. Just a wrist test but indeed it is noble and very spring like. Certainly has similarities with N°19 but it is less rich, possibly closer to the eau de toilette. There is something retro in it, and something skin-like - both aristocratic and aristocratically sensual. If you like subtle, professional scents that keep one refreshed this might be an option.
