Pepe Jeans Black Is Now For Her

It’s wonderful. You can’t sense the leather note, don’t worry. A fresh, sweet, crisp cherry-vanilla fragrance. Mass pleasing and a safe blind buy! It lasts 5hrs+, but doesn’t have that much sillage. I’d even go as far as to say it’s my favorite cherry fragrance- they did an amazing job keeping it light and fresh enough not to give you a headache or to find it too sweet after a while. This one, you’d never get bored of wearing. It makes a brilliant gift. Smells just like other high end luxury fragrances, gorgeous presentation, and unbeatable price. I can’t imagine someone finding it unpleasant.

Very modern, urban, and sexy. Reminds me of Black XS but this one is more sweet, fresh, and fun. It also has the most fascinating bottle design I’ve ever seen. Absolutely gorgeous.

The bottles of Pepe Jeans London perfumes always attracts me. And the bottle for Black Is Now is a combination of two of my most favourite colors so, I had to try it. It's a sweet fragrance like the other ones from the brand but this one has a freshness and it's not overly sweet or sticky. To my nose it's mainly Fresh, Sweet and Floral with a Musky Powdery Drydown. Black Is Now doesn't smell Juvenile to my nose. In fact it's modern, sexy and youthful. It's not too floral, too sweet or too fresh. It's perfectly balanced and that's why it's wearable for all year round. Longevity is around 5/6 hours with moderate projection. Overall it's a beautiful sexy feminine fragrance and it's inoffensive. So, I think if your body chemistry agrees with the notes you should definitely give Pepe Jeans Black Is Now a try.

I am really surprised there aren't more reviews on this fragrance. It was such a nice surprise for me. I had seen a lot about the original, and was eyeing that one at first but the notes in this one intrigued me more, seemed more my vibe. This is a lovely, sweet scent, not sickening at all or overpowering. I find it to be quite a comforting scent, I was imagining this more for night time but it is nice during the day as well. It wore beautifully on my skin, longevity is not amazing I have to admit but I got a solid 4 hours out of it. For a cheapie tho really impressed.

So I had to test this further. It is very much like D &G Pour Femme and slightly like Olympia on me while its deep sweet opening reminded me of Pure XS a bit. Pure XS is smoother, not citrusy on me and with Black Opium type of orange blossom, while this becomes VERY tart and high pitched on me even tho it starts off sweet and deep. I LOVE Pure XS, while I am not too fond of this. Mandarin, jasmine, Sandalwood notes are common in Olympia and Black is Now, so it explains why they are like cousins to me, due to the saltiness of the caramel here and the common intense woodiness/sandalwood, like pencil shavings. After 10 mins on my skin and till it fades on me, it is very similar to D&G Pour Femme due to their mandarin, jasmine and sandalwood notes - same citrusy sandalwood element here too. The more I wear this I realize that it's a cross between Pour Femme and Olympia and their notes kinda prove that too - its coming from the mandarin/jasmine/sandalwood, common in all of them. The citrusy, sweet "pour Femme" vibe can be too much for me here. I would say this is sweeter than Olympia, not screechy or aquatic or too floral, no rose here. Its opening is pretty identical to Playboy's Queen of the Game, deep, woody, sweet...I compared them side by side, but after 10 mins this one follows a different path. At first I thought it smells alot like Givenchy's Play due to the intense sandalwood and spicy sweetness. In the opening I detect something sweet and nutty and the first minutes after the initial spray it is powdery with a deeper tone, Im guessing due to the leather, almost like Playboy's Queen of the Game deep powdery sweetness, which has a borderline masculine feel. This is more feminine though and lighter than Queen of the Game. Its saltiness stays throughout, but after an hour the whole perfume turns much lighter and very tart, and the sandalwood is more dominant, pretty identical to Pour Femme's citrusy sweet woody feel. Here the citrus is too much for me, and so I rarely wear this perfume as I also don't go crazy over Pour Femme.

This is my first Pepe Jeans fragrance. It's a sweet floral vanilla with a touch of citrus. The scent reminds me of fabric softener without a powdery note. It's feminine, and not cloying due to the tame sweetness. Glad to have it in my collection.
