At Land

Smells expensive and elegant, and I really want a bottle, but the performance is very disappointing. If you don’t spray like 2-3 sprays per area it disappears within 30 minutes as Kneedoh noted below. I’d be going through a bottle every few months if I had to be that heavy handed with it. As far as notes go, on me the most prominent ones are seaweed and vetiver. I wish I could get a heavier dose of lemon, frankincense, and patchouli, but maybe that could be achieved with more sprays? Not sure since Stele is stingy with their sampling.

I was so excited to try At Land ever since I heard about it but I think that after trying it on myself a few times I’m pretty disappointed. My largest point of contention is that this perfume lasts, I kid you not, about 30 mins max. The tops notes, particularly the lemon note which I found to be the most pleasant, lasts about 2-3 mins and doesn’t really allow you to savor the scent profile. Once the top notes are gone, I hardly get any of the middle notes, probably due to the incense which seems to be the most overwhelming scent in this fragrance. Once in the middle of it, I would say it smells closely to licorice?? Which I personally am not a fan of. It’s a kind of spicy, musky scent which isn’t all together too unpleasant but I do think that I was just expecting more of a marine/aquatic quality which does appear in those first few minutes and is especially present while the scent is in the bottle. Overall, do I hate it? No. Do I like it? Not particularly. I think if this scent had more longevity I wouldn’t be so harsh, I actually think that if that were the case I would actually like it, because then it wouldn’t just be in your face incense and tobacco and you could actually experience each of the layers.
