Heliotrope

On my skin and on paper I get two versions of this fragrance. I first sprayed this on paper and once it dried I smelled one of the most beautiful, powdery musk scents I've ever smelled! Notice, I said musk, not heliotrope. On paper this is powdery, vanillic, musky with a hint of heliotrope/almond. In that order. On my skin I get the same scent but... With added citrus which I'm guessing is the orange blossom. I could honestly do without the orange blossom. I also detect something that comes off as anemalic to my nose. So on my skin it's a slightly citrusy, musky anemalic powdery vanilla (in that order). This scent reminds me both of Dior New Look 1947 and Aqua di Parma Sicilia a bit. Perfumer H Heliotrope is a soft and powdery scent remeniscint of something Guerlain or Dior would produce. Honestly smells excellent, just wish my skin chemistry wasn't so whacky.

Absolutely gorgeous, and it has a lot of my favourite notes in one perfume: vanilla, heliotrope, musk and orange blossom. It is sweet and soft, with heliotrope at its best, I think. Very sugary too, but in a pleasant, almost pillowy way rather than a heavy one. I love how the musk and orange blossom sit in the background, giving the fragrance a more prolonged impression and lifting the heliotrope so it doesn’t feel flat. If you are not into gourmand or vanilla scents, this is probably not for you. But if you love perfumes like Vanilla Haze and Guimauve de Noël 31, this will be right up your alley. That said, it may also feel very familiar: Guimauve de Noël 31 in particular sits very close to this scent I think (and is far less expensive than Perfumer H Heliotrope). I do hope to buy this one someday, though, because the bottle is absolutely to die for.

Perfumer H Heliotrope. I’d sort of overlooked Heliotrope when requesting samples with my orders. I’m quite fussy about vanilla based fragrances which is probably why. Some can end up being too sickly for me. Plus I always compare them to my Gaultier2 and if I really need it. Well, how pleased was I when I eventually tried this! It opens with a light, warm citrus, iris, vanilla combo that is just unreal. The heliotrope gives it a smooth almond wave and combining this with musk, it just draws you in and you want more and more! So addictive, perfect amount of sweetness, not overpowering in any way. I’m normally put off by powdery aspects from iris, but this is so well balanced it makes the scent even better. If you are looking for a beautiful, natural, vanilla based fragrance, you don’t need to look any more, this is the one.

Stunning and balanced. It is rare for me to find a heliotrope forward fragrance where I'm not overwhelmed by a play-doh vibe. That vibe is here a little but it's an artisanal play-doh that has been handmade by fairies and elves using specially sourced ingredients from Narnia. The heliotrope is divine and the orange blossom isn't screechy at all - it just hums right alongside the heliotrope and vanilla (which is also understated). It sits close to the skin which means I don't feel bad about spraying myself 20 times just to "have an experience." I agree with the reviewers below call this a masterpiece. It's beautiful and sublime and a must for lovers of heliotrope (and artisanal play-doh).

Delicately sweet, never excessive, A dream. Soft, airy, and beautifully comforting. Heliotrope is a fluffy, sweet vanilla that feels delicate rather than heavy. The heliotrope delivers a smooth, almond-like creaminess, and when it melds with the musk, it becomes irresistibly inviting; you just keep going back to smell it again and again. This is an addictive masterpiece and one of my dream perfumes. Simply put, if I could only choose 10 fragrances, Heliotrope would be an essential pick. The drydown is where the magic really happens—soft, powdery, lightly sweet, and subtly fresh. It sits close to the skin, well-blended, soothing, and comforting... like a gentle hug on a warm day 🤍✨

Mouth-watering heliotrope — smelling this actually had me salivating — with the perfect level of support from vanilla to create a fluffier-than-air dessert that would melt the hardest anti-gourmand (me). This is a heavenly yet elegant perfume. Semi-floral, even a smidgen of incense, making it more versatile than you might expect. I imagine it worn to a relaxed lunch among old friends in warm spring sunshine. Not your usual setting for a modern amber.

I much prefer Heliotrope to Dans Paris—it’s not so almond-forward, and the tangerine-neroli opening feels bright yet gently veiled. The powdery iris and heliotrope heart drift in an airy, comforting haze, while the sheer base of vanilla, warm amber, and sweet musk wraps you in a soft, cocooning embrace. Well-blended and utterly soothing, this is a perfume I can wear all day without ever feeling weighed down.

If you even remotely like heliotrope, just get it. This is a masterpiece- addictive and unlike anything else in my collection. Great sillage and longevity, I enjoy every minute of wearing this throughout the day. Worth every penny.

I didn’t expect the citrus from the orange blossom to be so prevalent on my skin, but it meshed really well with the vanilla and heliotrope. If I had the money, I’d totally buy a fb and use it everyday!

I came across this scent only now, I`m so surprised this is not more popular, it`s gorgeous. Sweet, but not cloyingly sweet. Masterpiece in my opinion. And very addictive.

Gorgeous almond gourmand. A grown-up gourmand, but with no sexiness or shrill caramel. Very warm and inviting. The yummy scent in this line.

It's pleasant, sweet and powdery. But it is so soft, light and faint that I just could never justify the price for me.

Heliotrope is a straightforward heliotrope. It captures the sour-cream essence of pure heliotrope without the obvious almond nature. This comes across as is a nut-milk with sour cream that’s pure white and dip-able. It’s not like Dans Paris (which I also have and prefer) as Dans Paris is more almond forward, more powdery and playful. In contrast, Heliotrope is much more linear, formal and would probably have trouble with understanding jokes and sarcasm and would sound machine-like if it could speak. In short: Heliotrope smells like a sour vanilla cheesecake, coated with white powdered dusting/icing sugar, mixed with some fresh printer paper with a slight printer ink nuance. It makes an easy office-wear scent but for a seemingly warm gourmand it lacks empathy.

Smells very much like oriana to me, but wayyyyyy lighter, less sweet and musk added. It's quite nice, but barely smell anything tbh. Save your coins and skip this one!

This is predominantly an orange blossom-heavy perfume with a whipped cream accord from the heliotrope. Overall a tropical summery feel, I like this and would get a full bottle if I did not already have Villa Neroli which is another vanillic orange blossom.

Fluffy, sweet, delicious vanilla. I also have Celine Dans Paris, and find Heliotrope to be a lot sweeter, smoother and creamier, although they are definitely similar. Not a total gourmand - it's elegant, comforting and elevated.

Nice daytime vanilla to wear outside that isnt cloying, but is tasty. In the vein of Celine Dan Paris. Very wearable.
