Combining cool, powdery iris absolute with grainy tonka bean, Powder also has distinct raspberry and mandarin rounded out by rose and thickened with warm ambrette seed muskiness. It's almost icing sugar / confectionary gourmand, like parma violets or rose Turkish delight, yet without being particularly sweet.

I have many rose /violet /iris perfumes. They are all usually quite sweet or makeup like. This one is reminiscent of makeup but not overly so. There is something vegetal in the opening that adds a subtle freshness and there is very little sweetness for which I am grateful. It is quite an unusual take on the genre and wears very close to the skin. It is not at all like baby wipes etc. I would say it is botanical powder, more like the kind of thing one might smell in an apothecary than at a beauty counter. Having said that, it is very smooth, expertly blended and there is nothing bitter or harsh about it. It is a delicate and quiet beauty. Leans feminine. Edit: I have been hunting for a perfume like Love Chloe Intense and tried all the usual suspects, but surprisingly, this is the closest- albeit without the soap and with an added vegetal touch. My heart can rest at last! At least until I find something closer!

I've noticed that the magic lies in the dry-down for this perfume house. The powder is a little dry, with some fruity nuances. Fades really fast and becomes a skin scent. Vintage makeup and reminder of days long gone. For that reason, this perfume does tugs at my heartstrings. I can appreciate, but it's way overpriced imo
