White Smoke

Reminds me of a smokier version of Labdanum 18 and also YSL 6 Place Saint in the drydown. Fantastic cool weather scent with solid longevity. The smoke is not acrid, overly woody or tary, hence the name white. This is a high quality take on an amber oriental that is actually worth the niche retail premium, and I rarely say that. Lynn Harris is the most talented perfumer that most people have never heard of, and it will probably stay that way because she does not give influencers money or free products. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Scent 96/100 Performance 85/100 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So beautiful. A dark, floral-leaning, woody, creamy yet powdery scent. Smooth, heady saffron and camomile, with a light ashiness. A faint geranium greening the edges. An equally distant tobacco adding some depth and earthiness. Woodiness too from the sandalwood and agarwood as it warms through. Patchouli to blend and lift. Something different is going on every time I inhale but it’s never messy, it’s a sublime, powdery, rich accord. A dreamy, creamy smokiness.

White smoke evokes the aroma of a corner in my favourite library - where I go to write: the leather desk and the old books with a note of quince. White smoke is wonderful. It is the smell of who I want to be.

I think the smoke line might be the real standout from the Perfumer H collection. Church smoke rising from the Vatican after the cardinals select a new pope. Wears all day.

Wow! What a wonderful olfactory experience. Wonderful intense opening of resin and smoke. The smoke softens to allow the floral notes to come through. Lovely layers of notes revealing themselves like the facets of amethyst twinkly in an opening volcanic geode. Smoke on water. Dry agarwood and saffron at the back. It gradually becomes more herbal with an almost fresh quality. Smoky Elizabeth Arden Eau Fraiche edt. It closes as a soft smoke scent with the herbs but ghosts. A great unisex scent for a Creative. A confident and intriguing person. If I smelt this on someone I would have to ask them what they are wearing. Modern, clean and intriguing. I really like it. One to wear when off to an art exhibition in the city. Not bad longevity or sillage in this 15 degree room.

The initial spray is an onslaught of smoke. And it lingers for quite sometime, until it doesn’t. It just evaporates and you’re left with this sweet smoke mixed with a beautiful dark amber, muddled with patchouli. I don’t like to purchase fragrances just for the dry down, but if I were willing to wait for it to settle, I’d definitely purchase a full bottle.
