TRY OUTSTANDING ROSE NOTES ON A BUDGET! The rose is a true queen among all flowers being beautiful, majestic and very fragrant. Consequently, its fragrance must also be royal blood material. The olfactory note of the rose can lean towards a more masculine or more feminine facet and generally evokes oriental ambiences. I quite like the rose scent but I am by no means an unconditional fanatic of it, by accepting every perfume whiff with the rose tag on it. I am particularly picky about the different nuances that we can find in rose scents that may arrive with many different names like Centifolia, Alba, Tea, English, Bulgarian, Moroccan, Turkish, Damask, Taif... and others that I don't remember now. I am also a bit choosy about the notes that can be combined with this floral scent. I usually don't enjoy other flowers mixed with the rose note, and I dislike the sweet rose/jasmine blending in particular. My defences come down completely when a strong taif rose note is combined with woods like agarwood, sandalwood and ebony, or with resins like olibanum and myrrh. All rose/wood accords are powerful, seductive and mysterious. An intense rose scent is heavily used in many well-known, appreciated and very usually expensive top-end perfumes. The rose note is clearly dominant in fragrances such as: Noir De Noir by Tom Ford, Rose d'Arabie by Armani Privé, Les Sables Roses by Louis Vuitton, Une Rose de Kandahar by Tauer Perfumes, Atomic Rose by Initio, Perfume Calligraphy Rose by Aramis, Oud Silk Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Portrait of a Lady by Frédéric Malle, Lyric Man by Amouage, La fille de Berlin by Serge Lutens, Roses de Chloé by Chloé, Velvet Rose & Oud by Jo Malone, J'adore by Christian Dior, Rose Noir by Byredo, Ardent by Boadicea the Victorious... ... and many others. All these fantastic perfumes have a common feature besides the high seduction they exert on perfume buyers. Their high prices and habitual unwillingness to integrate in-store promotions, seasonal sales and Black Friday advertising. THE BUDGET ROSE MUSKETEER There is a near-pungent rose perfume, actually using three types of rose essential oil, from an almost unknown brand. I refer to Tea Rose by Perfumer's Workshop. This fragrance presents us with a gigantic heart of Damask, Tea and Bulgarian rose. The other supporting notes are completely secondary and go rather unnoticed. If other perfumes contain rose essential oils mixed with supporting notes, this perfume fools us and seems to be composed only of rose essences and in very high concentration. It delivers the most intense and realistic natural rose aroma I have probably ever experienced in any perfume. It is simply a rose bomb, a wonderfully antique scent, a divine fresh rose that feels classy and retro. Plus, it's wearable all year round. Anyone who loves the scent of roses cannot go without this perfume in his or her wardrobe. If you don't like a rose scent, don't even try it because you will hate this fresh, natural and green bottled rose. Its longevity exceeds 8 hours and its sillage is close to two metres. The price? I bought my first 100ml bottle last month for €16. I hope you enjoyed my suggestion. If you are tired of smelling natural roses for a high price, now you can start doing it on a budget. This is no fanciful suggestion - this is truly Tea Rose! I will be the first to admit I am an incorrigible rose lover and have been on the prowl for roses that speak volumes to me. I don't want perfumers' abstractions, I don't want it buried under mounds of patchouli or praline or raspberry - just give me one deft soliflore! I'm telling you, if you love roses as I do, this one belongs on your shelf, if only for the price alone. All talk of budget fragrance aside, this one is absolutely glorious. Upon a blind purchase of Tea Rose several months ago, at first spray, I completely overdid it in my excitement. Every review on here was true! I could smell the glorious, rich red and white and pink and yellow petals wafting out of the bottle and I just sprayed the unholy heck out of it onto my wrists. Of course, I was accosted by a green and overwhelming cloud of thorns and leaves and rosewater that not only scented my skin, but my entire bedroom for about a day and a half! Make no mistake, for an EDT this has MONSTROUS sillage and staying power. In fact, I shocked myself so badly I had to take about a month off of this divine fragrance to decide if I had made a terrible mistake and reflect on my questionable spraying choices. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa. And then, the summer heat hit and I was positively wilting, as one tends to do, and desperately searched my shelf for a pick me up. Glow? Not today. Eternity? Wouldn't cut it. Tea Rose? What the heck! Give it a go! And let me tell you, this is THE rose perfume for summer. That thorny blast I had irresponsibly brought upon myself was nowhere to be found, once I wised up and spritzed delicately in the crook of my elbows and dabbed on my wrists. The sillage was still significant at 4-6 inches, and the staying power upwards of 8 hours, but much more tolerable in judicious amounts. It blossoms and blooms in heat, walking around leaves a trail of delicate petals behind you. Rose, and rose, and rose. Thorn and leaf and stem create the beautiful framework for the flower at the heart. Out of the drydown I detect a really pretty, gentle beeswax note that slowly descends into skin musk, as if you had rubbed the rose petals directly into your skin. It's vegetal and sexy, two words that honestly I'm not sure should be in the same sentence but look at it this way - it's as if you'd been rolling around damp earth covered in petals with your lover. Looking over the other notes fellow Fragranticans have detected, I have to say I sense no white floral or sandalwood presence, but that may be a matter of my skin chemistry alone. This is a green rose soliflore one hundred percent on me, for as long as it lasts, and it does last. In closing, learn from my mistakes, never overspray any enchanted juice that speaks in glorious subtleties, and you will be transported into the most paradisiacal lush rose garden for like, $10 a bottle. Come on. Rose lovers, you already know what to do.

I've been looking for ages for what I define as "perfect rose". I found a used bottled of this for only 7€ (in my country it costs around 15€) so I decided it could make a good blind buy. And it was the BEST value I've ever gotten for such little money. It opens up as a classic geranium rose. Even though the geranium isn't listed, I think it's the citrus notes to give it a "geranium-rose" appearance. A few minutes after spraying it develops a weird, slightly acidic metallic note which reminds me of blood for some reason? (EDIT: I found out that it's probably rose oxide) At first I found that off-putting, but as someone who loves dark things, I've grown to like it. It feels like a jammy yet not sweet rose. Almost earthy and very damp. Sillage is really good, I like to spray it on my back and let it dry before I let my hair down. My hair keeps smelling like roses for like 48h. Projection isn't as good as some people described, but it might as well be me using too many rose scents and going nose blind. Many people said it's photorealistic rose, but I don't feel like it is. There's much more to it, at least on an emotional level. Someone on these reviews said that it reminded them of catholicism, and that is a spot on observation: it smells exactly like the rose scent that is used for rosary crowns and sacred scented oils. It smells flowery and opulent but in a damp, cold way which also makes it smell like funeral flowers. It's a fresh rose, but it can have a dark, churchy aura to some, which is personally my favorite part about it. I've gotten my bottle 4 days ago and I've already used 1/4 bottle, it's truly addictive. I've worn it this last weekend, bringing my bottle with me cause I just couldn't stay without it. At some point I sprayed it on, and some guy told me something like: "How gross. You smell like my grandma" I took it as a compliment, cause "smelling like grandma" is what unimaginative, Sauvage-wearing people will always say when confronted with scents that don't follow the trends. It's something too purely beautiful to be loved by everyone. It exists just to delight the person wearing it, and for that reason, I think it's going to be my signature. Edit: after some time wearing it, I've gotten to love and love its metallic quality. Why does no one mention how metallic it is? It feels damp and bloody. It sometimes revolts me how much it smells like blood, yet I cannot stop spraying it on. A few months ago I really really liked it, but now I'm actually fully obsessed with it. It's a vintage, gentle rose, hiding a bloody and metallic nature. I didn't think such a cheap and simple perfume could evoke so much.

THE ROMANCE OF THE ROSE Visually the rose has always been one of my most appreciated flowers. Its beauty is accompanied by a majesty that impresses and, at the same time, offers us a richness of detail and vivid colours that attract and hook us. The perfume is quite fragrant and singular. Despite its feminine floral aura, for me, the rose note is perfectly unisex. Different roses have a wide range of complicated smells, from floral and tea aromas to spicy, fruity, and musky scents. Despite its delicate appearance, it is by no means harmless as it defends itself very well with its sharp thorns. The plant as a whole is usually quite resilient. Tea roses in particular were originally from China and were named Hybrid Tea because the fragrance of the plants reminded people of l of tea brewing smell. Tea roses are usually white and often grow much taller than shrub roses, producing a larger bloom as well. [short review] "Tea Rose" is a very linear fragrance made with immaculate tea roses, very red Bulgarian roses, and pink Damascene roses, surely all very carefully chosen. The perfume has a dewy rose bouquet that is quite intense and attention-grabbing. The flowers feel freshly picked and flood us with their olfactory pungency. It has slight nuances of herbal tea, more precisely chamomile tea or perhaps melissa in my opinion. My wife's opinion is that this perfume recalls facets of green tea. I consider this perfume to bear similarities to the intense rose scent of some niche perfumes released more recently. Don't expect from it, neither a very sweet profile or a resinous and amber base. Here we find essentially a spicy and warm floral continuous scent, rounded off at the base with a light green and woody aroma. It is really very pleasant! For its quality and price, it turns out to be an almost unbeatable perfume for a genuine lover of the rose note. Its performance is above average, with a longevity of more than 10 hours and an acceptable projection and sillage. It was released almost 60 years ago but still has an enviable performance. It is usually priced between 16 and 25 Euros on the web and is even easy to find. My opinion: Normally a rose perfume is associated either with other flowers, with noble woods, or even with resinous hearts and bases. This perfume gives us a clean scent of rose (or roses) without great distractions around it. The near absence of other flowers makes it not too feminine and makes it appealing to both genders. I really wonder if certain people here have smelled real flowers, or at least fresh cut. Granted everyone has a different nose and different skin, but I find this rose so palpably vivid, that I can't rightly imagine anyone not getting much rose from it, unless their reception of the experience was either overly informed by their emotional mood at the time or just a general ignorance of what a thing smells like apart from other fragrances that present it as a prominent note. This is a freshly misted florist's cooler full of roses in their cellphone cones. If the discontinued Paul Smith Rose is a walk under a garden arbor, pregnant with blossomed climbing roses after a summer rain, Tea Rose is a trip to the florist. Remarkably abundant and fresh. Practically tactile. Not just for its price, but period. Beautiful on its own, building depth as time passes, like a good soliflore ought, making up for an absence (not lack) of complexity with an entirely separate sort of dry down evolution. As many have already said, however, this is an incredible layering scent. I'm currently trying to find the right layering ratio to Approximate Aramis 900 as potently as possible, by layering it with regular Aramis. I'm 90% there. It's difficult to keep the strong-for-an-EDT Tea Rose from overpowering the very squarely cologne-strength Aramis which, while strong, is hardly an endurance athlete in current formulations. Regardless of how the dry down are going, the initial wear of every attempt is smelling a million times more like 900 than its swarthy sister, Aromatics Elixir. I'm also messing around with Tea Rose with Moschino Toy Boy, Montana Graphite, and Lalique Encre Noire A L'Extreme to reproduce some sort of a-la-minute layer dupe of Paul Smith Rose. It seems to be a fantastic contender for recreating discontinued rose masterpieces, provided the user has a partner fragrance with the right profile. I should have bought a gallon. I'm so in love, I'm straight-up simping. Thank goodness she's not a gold digger.
