When I tell you I recoiled at the strong opening! This is absolute art. I sprayed and went for a deep inhale, I did not expect it to be such a photorealistic fuel. I also smell wood, burning wood, a plasticky note that might be the coal tar. This is pungent, sticky, I can visualise the acrid smoke as we speed towards the abyss using all of the available fuel on the unimportant, the worthless pursuits, belching pollution into the atmosphere and for what? This scent is the scent of environmental destruction and the willful ignorance of humanity. Well worth purchasing for the contemplation and experience, it is art in a bottle and I am only just through the opening. It really is a shocking scent to me and I have smelled many things. The middle - other posters are correct. After the shocking opening, this is sexy. Clean mechanic, leather in a garage. It softens. This is the smell of a hard working father, or daddy, you choose. Whichever, I want to be in the arms of the person who smells like this.

100% unapologetic gasoline note in the opening won me over immediately, because I am forever a fan of unconventional notes in perfumery and one of those weirdos that actually likes the smell of gasoline. But for those of you who may be a bit skittish, fear not, because just as quickly as it comes on, it transitions quite surprisingly into a very pleasant orris-soft amber. And there is a minerality that reminds me of crushed patio rock that runs pretty consistently through the life of the fragrance that I find quite comforting. All and all, a unique, intriguing and approachable journey.

Following a thread on reddit, I looked up tar as a note on Fragrantica and ended up buying a bottle of Fuel. Indeed it has the realistic scent of a street with a new tar coating, with some sweet undertones that makes it pleasant with just the right balance of originality and wearability. Performance is good.

I work as a sous chef. I love this scent, but I was asked by my boss to never wear it to work again because he said he couldn't focus on anything with "the smell of a mechanic" next to him all day. Personally, it's a solid 8/10. 9 if I didn't get yelled at for it, lmao

Got this as a gift after falling in love with it. It reminds me of my fathers garage, very mechanicy but also wearable. Sometimes layering it with a rose scent to make it a bit less intimidating. It can "stink" to some people, because it is gasoline/tar forward.

A sharp gasoline opening: metallic, volatile, almost burning. Then it warms on the skin, becoming softer and more enveloping, with a slightly sweet and sensual trail. Hyper-realistic, raw yet magnetic — like an industrial memory turned into attraction.

This one has been sitting on my skin for a while and I keep getting whiffs of it. I think it's really hitting hard with the coal tar note and a bit of gas. It is also reminiscent of a freshly paved road that hasn't dreid yet, so you can still smell it. I like this one better than I thought I would. If you do like the smell of gasoline or coal tar, you probably can't find another perfume that has more prominent notes than this one. It's a bit strange, but I can't stop smelling this!

I actually quite like this. It’s a very sharp oud and sticky gasoline fragrance. I love the smell of gasoline and it sits in the fragrance from the very start to the end. Combined with the oud and resins, this is a quality dirty masc scent. As others have mentioned, it kinda gives dirty mechanic. Reminds me of a bustling auto shop. There is a bit of a rubber/plastic smell like new tires. In the same vain as Amouage Oud Ulya minus the sweetness.

I got my bottle today. It starts off very sharp with almost a strong soy sauce smell. After settling on the skin for an hour I get ofactory memories of a barnyard (slightly "manurey"), mixed with freshly tarred logs (used in scandiavia). It's very mysterious and different scent, not for the faint of heart. Absolutely not a blind buy

Opens up gasoline-forward with a tar facet and an underlying nard note, then transitions to a notable tar coal facet with a gasoline bias. Fairly quickly however, the balsamic, faintly caramel facets start to show, and the gasoline facets start to subside substantially, the tar just somewhat less, to make room for a neutral, styrax-biased leather that is just there enough to make of it. I’ll be honest, I had high hopes when I initially sampled this before (this is another go at it), and primarily it was for the leather, but since the presentation of the leather is rather lackluster, this time, I was yearning for the realistic tarry facets at the opening. This was probably why I didn’t think too much of it at the time since the coal tar subsided too much to make way for a petrol-biased, resinous, dull-leather composition. It was a letdown for me, but I’m sure this would be suitable for someone else that is looking for a light leather frag that has a petrol bias with a light coal tar facet. For this, not really FBW for me, quite unfortunately, since this profile as described is here to stay.

If you've ever thought of sneaking into a motorcycle garage to be intimate with someone who is kneeling on top of a Harley Davidson - while they are also wearing Followed by Kerosene - this would be the scent. It smells like butt, leather, oil, tar and caramel. It is incredibly sexy. Fuel 0987 is to me a brilliant, equivoque take on "industrial and mechanic". It opens with gasoline and indian oud, goes on with tar, oily parts, leather jackets, and a long sweet caramel at the end. It doesn't contain any weird, bad personal hygiene notes of unwashed greasy hair musks, like Nuvolari or Silver Oud. The only dirt you get here is upfront and honest - it's ass, washed or not - and it's coming immediately and straight from the indian oud. Fuel0987 actively projects well over 5 hours, with sillage going on for hours and hours. Never loud though. The caramel note blends perfectly with the smoky and dirty notes. Highly recommend. Get a sample.

haven't smelled it yet - looking forward to when i can but i had to comment because that scent description is both hilarious and so, so bleak.

I’m mysteriously drawn to this. Would love to give this a go. Sadly, no sellers in Aus yet. Will be checking in to keep an eye on reviews.
