Sudu Te

Wow. After hearing about Sudu Te from LolaScents and also an article on Fragrantica, I went ahead and ordered the discovery set from Perfumology, and I am so glad I did. Sudu Te is like nothing I have ever smelled before. All the descriptions I heard are so correct. It does smell and feel like a spa, but not this neutralized European spa with luxury products - it smells like a natural spa, set in a jungle landscape, with humid yet cooling air. I smell all the tart fruits, especially mango, and tea here really is like white tea - it's a tea note I haven't smelled before in any other perfume. It's not sweet - it's an unsweetened mango flavored white tea. As it dries down I smell more of the florals and it becomes sweeter, but it never morphs into something boring. It hangs around a long time, too. I think it would be perfect for the office because it's strange, but not off-putting. That humid air feeling, like rising steam off a mug of hot tea, but cooling rapidly, is just incredible. I don't know how they did that, but I am amazed! Can't wait to try the rest of my samples :)

Trying this on my skin, this smells wonderful. Straight off the top, it has a tropical vibe and it carries on afterward for a couple of hours, and then the tropical vibe fades. It's very beautiful. I get light fruits and lots of warmth with this scent. There's a good amount of floral in this fragrance and the white tea note is lovely. With the way this smells, this to me is a more feminine scent. It smells like a fragrance that would be good for a woman of any age. I would definitely encourage everyone to give this scent a smell. I would love to smell this off of my fiance. This is a fragrance well done and I hope this gets a lot more attention. I also want to note that the price is quite good as well.

A very unique fragrance. If you are a fan of mango, lychee (litchi), and white tea, this fragrance is a must have. To be honest, the first time I smelled this on paper, it immediately registered as something different. While I enjoy a wide range of scents, this one did not appear familiar to me..and because of that, I was cautious on my approach in getting to know this fragrance. However, once it sat on my skin, all inhibitions were lifted. This has quickly become on of my favorites. Performance on this parfum has been great on my skin 8-10+ hours. To me it appears versatile. I've worn it at the office and casually. It is one of those scents that just makes me happy.

I was given a sample of this along with my purchase at Perfumology in Philly. I am amazed at how great this is. It’s actually really calming to me. A really relaxing scent. Fruity, floral, aromatic and spicy. Definitely getting those tropical fruit notes and they’re delicious. I may need to buy a bottle of this. Although a bit feminine I believe anyone could pull this off. I was not expecting to like this as much as I do. Well done!!! 8.5/10

obsessed with this. Opens sharply and fruit heavy. Tea emerges as it settles and it is beautifully composed with the fruit, tea, spice and woods standing out to me the most. Feels clean, unique and happy to me. Good sillage and longevity.

Long overdue sampling of Perfumology’s most recent release, Sudu Te, inspired by a mix of white tea, fruits, and florals, primarily, and it’s fittingly sweet, fresh, and tea-laden, with real balance, as it’s a good amount of white tea but not overwhelmingly nor solely a tea fragrance. I continue to be impressed by Justin Frederico’s skill in crafting an interesting fragrance with great structure. It does open a tad sharper and brighter than most of its experience, as is generally the case, and that works well for me in terms of intensity, the peak provocation coming early with a very calming and relaxing dry down to follow, making for a really pleasant, versatile fragrance. Sudu Te has the same great pricing as Perfumology’s previous releases, at $95 for 50ml with box, and $85 without, really quite outstanding in the current market, considering the quality and diversity of the catalogue. 7 out of 10

Opens with tropical notes and florals with slight bitter, but ozonic, dry note in the background. During the dry down the dry tea notes become more prominent and a bit more dominant while the tropical fruits and a slight sweet spiciness play a supporting role. The fragrance also becomes more unisex in the drydown where the opening is more feminine to me. The associate I spoke with stated this scent was inspired by Ganymede and although I detect a slight similarity with Ganymede, I can only place the slight fruity and bitter tea like nuances. The quality is very good and Perfumology offers this for a very reasonable price. This does not fit my taste or style of perfume, but it is unique scent with very good performance. Great mango note in the opening with some citrus, as it dries down you some spiciness with ocean notes, tropical floral and creamy sandalwood.

Interesting. There is a sharp, almost metallic note that is reminding me of saffron, but I don’t see it listed in the notes.

a nice opening. Like the fruit. But in the dry down a little too floral for me.

Don't know if the sample I got is bad or something, but it really just smells like a hotel pool that's covered in cheap lotion, cheap iced tea, and sunscreen that clouds the water. The other non fruity or tea/flowery/watery notes do come through and improve the overall scent, but not enough to make up for the rest of the package and the spice notes that don't feel like they fit with the package.

a weird one, tart fruits, stuffy florals, savory spice, all surrounded by fresh watery notes and a subtle sweetness. The base has a creamy massoia wood and sandalwood combination, but the weirdly stuffy florals and almost sour fruits feels so disjointed. Just not my cup of tea.

One of my least favorite fragrances, but I also don't like mango and other fruity notes. (I do like Millisime Imperial though) The opening reminds me of a TRESemme hair product.

It does smell exotic—tea, nutmeg and cinnamon spice, mango, lychee—but for some reason it also smells like a suede handbag. Probably my chemistry is to blame.

This just smells different in a good way. I don't have a lot of scents with tea in them, but to me the tea is the star player. This fragrance reminds me a tad of Gucci Pour Homme II, which I liked, but that fragrance was too strident/sharp to me; didnt seek a new bottle after i used it up. I also smell dry woody notes, sandalwood? mixed with other dry dustiesh wood notes. There are other things going on here that my nose isn't discriminating enough to i.d. I'm not picking up on fruity notes, maybe in the backround. All I know is the overall vibe I get is dry, a dominant/very authentic tea note, fresh woody/a teensy bit powdery and pleasantly unique, year roundish. I own about 75 bottles of mostly designer cologne and have sampled hundreds of designer and niche; this is unique to my fragrance experiences. I will most likely go from my 2ml sample - which Perfumology sent me for free with some other samples I purchased - to a full bottle. It helps that this niche fragrance is relatively affordable.

I'm a Sri Lankan and I find it really cool that our country's unique scents and aromas are being appreciated by the fragrance world. The notes all remind me of my grandma's backyard garden and the wafts of spices, wood, freshly steeped tea and my grandma's sandalwood soap amidst the sweetness of ripe fruits and white flowers in bloom. Tea and cinnamon are two of our main exports, so seeing both listed on the notes shows the level of careful research done in the creation of this perfume. Although lychee isn't grown in Sri Lanka, rambutan (which tastes and smells very similar) is grown here and found in abundance during the warmer seasons. I would love to try a sample of this and expand on my thoughts!

Strictly a summer scent. - Leaves scent trail with movement. - No aquatic notes traceable. - Reminds me of shows like Zoey 101 and H20.
