#97 of My Fragrance Journey - Pernoire Anelo: It had me at first spray. Then I checked the price. It starts with a flicker. The kind of sudden light that makes you squint before you lean in. I sprayed it. The air caught fire. Pineapple and pomelo - immediate, loud, almost impatient. Not the abstract kind. This was fruit punch served in a glass made of frozen light. Mango-flesh and cold sugar hitting the back of the throat before you've even registered the scent. I stopped. Leaned into it. Kept smelling my wrist more than usual. There's a specific modern DNA here - that seamless luminous radiance you find in the orbit of God of Fire or Vibrato. Polished to a mirror finish. No friction, no hesitation. A unisex brightness that sits on skin like a silk shirt worn open. The scent of someone entirely self-possessed, moving through the world with quiet magnetic ease. It's effortless in a way that's genuinely hard to pull off. And I was convinced. Fully, briefly, completely convinced. Then the diffusion softens. Electric fruit pulls back, jasmine and orange blossom move in. Still beautiful - but something shifts. It starts to feel... scripted. The tension that made the opening so addictive begins to dissolve into clean woods and soft musk, and what's left is pleasant, wearable, safe. Then I checked the price. £240 for a small (50ml) bottle. I went back to my wrist, searching for something rare, something intimate, something that could justify the distance between this and the familiar signatures it mirrors. The light stayed flat. It's a refinement of a formula we already know - a very expensive, very polished echo of something we've smelled before. And in this bracket, "safe" feels like a betrayal of that opening spark. Here's the thing, though - I didn't dislike it. Not once. It's seductive in its lack of resistance. Adapts to your life, your office, your evenings without demanding anything back. But at this cost, adaptation isn't enough. It should create a world, not just a mood. I still think about that first spray, though. That burst of fruit. That moment where the air held an energy that felt almost real. Vibe: Neon citrus and frozen light. A Wednesday that briefly felt like something else. Performance: Strong opening, retreats faster than you'd want at this price. Fit: For someone who can afford beautiful things - and has started asking more questions about them. If I’ve learned anything from this house, its that these fragrances HAVE to be tried on skin for a full impression of them. I went through the entire set and my initial thoughts on Anelo were much like some of these other comments. Basic. Familiar. Redundant. But also very pleasant. Just for S’s and G’s, I try it on skin to wear around one day. I now own a full size bottle. Life comes at you quick, what can I say! Call it recency bias, but this is legit one of the best tropical fragrances on the market. Okay, yea it is similar to Vibrato and Aventus. Sure. But as we all learned in geometry, similar does not mean congruent. Stay with me now. This takes these fragrances (vibrato, tygar, aventus, god of fire, etc.) that have been dominating the market for the last several years and blows them all out of the water. Its extremely sweet and fresh, but it is so well balanced. Instantly, you get the sweetness from the pineapple/mango. The Pomelo gives it a tartness to it that I absolutely cannot get enough of. The ginger gives it a nice zing and the patch/magnolia give this push-pull of freshness and sharpness. This is the type of stuff that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet (aka the tester strip). Which is why this is a MUST TRY on skin. Lasts 8-10 hours on skin and like an eternity and then some on clothes. You can get it on ZGO for like $220ish after discount codes. Just spend 18 seconds scouring the internet for one that works. I think this is worth every penny, especially since at that 220 price range, it is right in the same bracket as its predecessors. But in my humble opinion, much better than all of them. More balanced, a frutier more unique take, and brings us back to the OG aventus days in terms of performance. That stuff is basically just $540 water nowadays. Call it a clone, call it lazy, call it what you want. But im calling it one of the best summer fragrances on the market. And not to hype it up too much, but this might just dethrone my baby Loumari Porthole as my favorite warm-weather scent. Icicle Fkn Approved!!

I’ve had this fragrance for a few weeks now, and I intentionally held off on reviewing it because I knew after the very first spray that it was something special. I wanted to give it the wear time it deserved. It opens with a stunning burst of juicy pineapple, backed by a vibrant blend of mango and ginger. There’s also a soft musk in the background that gives the opening an airy, refined feel. As the pineapple settles, the mango and ginger become more prominent, creating a beautifully balanced tropical accord. The entire composition takes on a smooth, creamy, almost candy-like quality without ever becoming overly sweet. It’s simply incredible. A touch of magnolia keeps everything feeling clean and elegant throughout the transition. The dry down is where this fragrance truly shines. It transforms into a lightly fruity, woody, creamy, and musky scent that feels effortlessly airy and addictive. I genuinely can’t get enough of it. The compliments this fragrance receives are exceptional, if that’s something you value. I rarely hand out a masterpiece rating, but this one earns it without hesitation. Even better, the performance backs up the scent. Longevity is comfortably above average, lasting around 6–8 hours on my skin, with an impressive 3–4 hours of strong projection before settling into a refined scent bubble. The only real downside is the price. It’s undeniably expensive, but after spending time with it, I can honestly say it’s worth every penny. Scent: 10/10 Performance: 9/10 Overall: 10/10

Wow. I just literally had to register to leave my review of it. This is simply the best perfume I have ever smelled! Stunning! I love it so much. I don't own a huge collection of perfumes (probably around 30) but I have quite a big collection of testers. Having said that, I truly love the Tygar DNA - I own both the OG and Extrait and as such I also own Vibrato and LV L’Immensité which are also great. But this? It is a completely new level! So uplifting, delicate, balanced and executed to perfection. You can smell all the individual notes separately but yet in a perfect harmony. Opening and the dry down are both fantastic and it lasts for hours. I bought a tester first to check all the hype about it but within minutes I already had my order for a full bottle placed! It is going to be hard for any other perfume to beat it for me. Amazing for summer but you could wear it all year round really. I can see why it is a crown pleaser - it is hard not to like it. The only downside is its price but honestly - it is not more expensive than some of the other perfumes I own which I like less. And another bonus is that you can get a 7.5ml extra travel bottle for free if you order it from their website. Truly truly love it and I will be checking their other perfumes as well for sure!

Oh yeah. This shit is fucking awesome. It's like a less abrasive vibrato with mango/pineapple on the top. "Energetic mango" is a very accurate description of it. This is definitely my favorite summer fragrance, and other people with much larger collections than me have echoed the same sentiment. It projects very well while also not being too offensive to a point where you can't wear it inside, the scent profile is the best summer citrus I have ever smelled, it lasts most of the day even in summer heat (probably a little longer than vibrato on my skin)--it checks literally all the boxes. I didn't try this for a very long time because of how ludicrously expensive it is per mL... not to mention the added shipping costs to the US. Having it now I'm honestly kind of glad there's such a hurdle to get hands on it. Everyone would just wear this if it was $150 with free next-day shipping in the US. I would obviously still overall prefer it to be cheaper and more accessible, but there is silver lining. If you are looking to sample this in the US, look up The Scent Lab decants; he's the only guy I have seen that decants Anelo without totally insane markups. If you're willing to shell out ~$400 (including shipping to the US and tax) for a 50mL, try this out.
