Arancia Di Sicilia

The Mediterranean essence of the Sicilian summer enclosed in a bottle, Arancia Di Sicilia by Perris Monte Carlo is probably one of the most realistic and sophisticated interpretations on the market. It is not the usual "fresh" perfume, it is an olfactory journey that evolves in a surprising way. Freshly vaporized, the impact is photorealistic. It doesn't taste like orange candy, but like freshly grated orange peel. You can perceive the essential oil, that bitter and sparkling part typical of Sicilian blood oranges. It is a sunny, energetic opening with an impressive material quality. After about 15-20 minutes, the fragrance changes face. The harshness of the citrus subsides to make room for an accord reminiscent of Sicilian pastries. Vanilla and Almond: They create a creamy sensation, almost like the filling of a cannoli or a cassata. Cinnamon: Adds a touch of spicy warmth that keeps the scent from becoming too childish or overly sweet. The real surprise comes in the dry-down. The inclusion of coffee is masterful: it does not dominate, but serves to "dirty" the sweetness of vanilla, giving the fragrance an adult and unisex structure. Musk and Amber ensure that the scent does not fade away immediately, which unfortunately often happens with classic citrus fruits. Arancia Di Sicilia is a perfume of contrasts. It begins as a refreshing sorbet and ends as a refined dessert consumed in an outdoor café. It is the ideal choice for those who love citrus fruits but are looking for something with more "body" and personality than traditional colognes.

Arancia di Sicilia is my first try from Perris Monte Carlo. It’s one of the house’s more recent releases (from 2019) and, as best I can tell, one of the more discussed. On name alone, it sounds it should be a citrus-dominant mix, but the note breakdown is much more interesting, and the same can be said of the fragrance itself, which definitely has a prominent sweet-and-creamy citrus aspect to it, but smells far more of a blended dessert, with notes of almond, cinnamon, and coffee. So while it’s fresh and citrus to some extent, is far more of a mixed experience, but still very sweet and almost entirely gourmand, with very good performance. So it has freshness and sweetness, with a sort of year-round friendliness, mostly for gourmand fans. And it’s not particularly redundant with entries that may sound similar, like Profumum Roma Dulcis in Fundo, which is a superb expression of the citrus/vanilla blend but does not entail some of the other attributes of Arancia di Sicilia. Arancia di Sicilia is sold in the US by Indigo Perfumery, Luckyscent, and some department stores like Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus, and is priced at $190 for 100ml in EDP concentration, a fair price point for the quality of the juice. This is very impressive stuff and will have to be on my list as a future acquisition. 8 out of 10

Very beautiful, life like smell of oranges here. It's so incredibly fresh, citrusy, and real smelling. Then, on the dry down the sweet, gourmand-esqe notes come alive and complement the fresh, citrus notes so perfectly. There was a candy I remember getting as a kid and they were chocolate's shaped like an orange and each little slice created a chocolate orange and this fragrance reminds me of that candy. It becomes sweet, vanillic, slightly creamy and nutty. It's the perfect sweet gourmand type fragrance for Summer. I live in very hot weather so I'm anticipating getting plenty of use of this scent. It smells unique and different to most of the other citrus scents that I have. So far, I;m very impressed by this house. Ylang Ylang Nosy be is a yellow floral with uniqueness and incredible performance. Vanille de Tahiti is the best summery vanilla that I have and now I have the best sweet citrus scent I could envision. Very happy with my blind buy and glad I added this one to my collection. There are so many lemon forward vanilla's on the market but i don't know of many orange ones and PMC nailed it here.

Fresh, zesty blood orange with most of the citric sharpness blunted by a creamy vanilla. A soft dusting of cinnamon and resinous amber add a touch of balancing warmth, along with a bit of floral iris peeking through from the base. Very well blended, quite gourmandish. Drydown goes in an ambery musk direction. Soft projection for 3-4hr, longevity 8-10hr. Extremely similar to MFK Amyris Homme, including sharing common core notes of orange + vanilla + iris + cinnamon. The flavor is a bit different between mandarin vs blood orange. This is a little zingier, the almond makes it a smidge creamier, the amber adds a resinous touch to the vanilla. Maybe not as heavy on the iris, which is a note I tend to heavily favor but I like the blood orange here more. The stronger cinnamon note and weaker iris make it more gourmand. Kinda sits between the EDT and Extrait as far as density/thickness. Unfortunately, they certainly have the performance advantage as this is rather soft projecting.

A winter citrus/summer amber. It's good year round. The opening is a nice sweet orange that turns into a bit of an orange soda vibe as the vanilla and almond kick in. The amber gives it some body and weight but it doesn't get too heavy in warm weather. This is one of my favourite orange perfumes. It's not as fresh and cooling as some citruses. If I just want something super refreshing, I usually reach for Mandarine Basilic, but this is perfect for when I want something orange with a little more heft, a little sultry from the amber. It's almost gourmand but not a literal orange cake, which makes it very versatile. I find it has decent to good longevity, especially for a citrus, although it isn't a huge projector.

I love the citrus explosion opening of Arancia Di Sicilia. This becomes a unique and daring combination when the almond and coffee notes mingle with the natural orange note, I don’t think I’ve ever smelled those notes together. Drying down into a mellow, citrus gourmand amber, a pleasant finish. Arancia is not a big projector, and doesn’t fill a room and I’m okay with that aspect of the scent. Performance aside—depending on the weather, I’m getting 2 to 3.5 hours before turning to a skin scent—I would love to bathe every day in this beautiful summer scent. I’m compelled to look for a larger decant. EDIT Bottle is gorgeous too.

Such a bright, cheerful, stunningly real orange juice accord! Arancia di Sicilia really captures the tart, pungent sensation of cutting and handling oranges that it made my mouth water--I think it's the best rendition I've ever smelled. The supporting structure is also very pretty, with a nice floral amber to back it up . . . but that opening is just mind blowing. I kind of want some just to keep respraying it, because I have burned through my sample doing just that. Resistance is futile.

Extremely realistic and high-quality orange opens and warms like an orange zest cannoli being baked on your skin, but stops shy of becoming completely gourmand or sugary-sweet. A beautiful and unexpected citrus; the inclusion of warm vanilla and cinnamon can easily take this into fall or even winter. Really impressed with all of Perris Monte Carlo’s offerings so far (except Tubereuse Imperiale). I only wish the longevity were better.

Finally purchased a bottle. I sampled it years ago, but because of it's lack of longevity I felt it was overpriced. I was able to get a bottle on discount and I am happy to have it. I think I will enjoy it more in the fall. Not your summer citrus freshie, but not quite a gourmand. An in-between territory that there isn't much of. Unique for sure.

This probably the most beautiful citrus scent that I have. The ingredients seem to be top notch. The orange feels hyper realistic refreshing and very uplifting. This is elegance and class in a bottle. I love this on a man. I love this in the air and on myself. The vanilla and almond in the drydown are very subtle. I need back up bottles.

Absolutely lovely summer scent!!

Arancia di Sicilia is from the "Italy" collection of citrus fragrances by Perris Monte Carlo. I grabbed this sample without first checking out the notes, and was surprised that this was not a straight-forward citrus freshie. Instead, Arancia di Sicilia is sort of a citrus-gourmand-amber fragrance, creative and nicely crafted. The opening is not as overwhelmingly orange as I would like it to be, and is joined quickly by an array of gourmand notes - especially coffee and almond with a little cinnamon. Maybe this is supposed to evoke the smell of a pastry shop in Palermo 🙂 The fragrance is not super sweet though, and actually leans quite masculine on my skin... I think it is the darkness of the coffee giving me that impression. Not for me, but I think it is pleasant and imaginative. I've seen this "Italy" collection for sale for sub $75 on FragranceBuy - a great value. I think many of the fragrances from Perris Monte Carlo smell like designer fragrances, but done damn well.

Wow, this is surprisingly nice. I usually find orange based fragrance nice, but a bit bland, sweet orange oil is already such a nice raw material, I sometimes wonder if adding anything to it actually detracts from its beauty, as is the case with AdP Arancia di Capri or the Guerlain AA orange offering. Perris Arancia di Sicilia is very nice both as an orange fragrance, but also excellent as a light yet warm spicy amber fragrance you can wear in the Summer. I get some of the cinnamon, some light hints of vanilla and benzoin, while not being cloyingly almond-y. Coffee is always a bit of a fantasy note so don't expect to get a full on cappuccino here. The sweetness of the orange rings throughout the composition and the dry down is comforting and warm. Excellent and also surprisingly affordable on discounters.

I've always wanted a Perris Monte Carlo fragrance and a nice niche summer fragrance. My first choice was Arancia di Sicilia and, boy, what a stunning fragrance. At the beginning I get oranges, ripe and sweet, very uplifting and energizing. But soon after, a symphony of gourmand notes appear in the limelight. Vanilla, coffee beans, amber - a wonderful mix of delicious notes skilfully blended. Still, the fragrance stays airy enough to be worn in the summer's heat. A light orange dessert in a bottle. Wish it lasted longer on my skin, that's my only complaint. Now I'd like to try more of this house's fragrances cause I'm intrigued .

Citrus with the harsh edge rounded off, but still fresh and fizzy. This one feels a bit like an orange soda or candy. I don't detect coffee or almond or whatever else is going on, it's just a nice muted citrus that blooms on the skin.

I love the orange top but the base is just okay to me. There's something deep floral, gardenia-ish about the amber that I'm not a fan of

Sweet orange oil with a sprinkle of spice. There is supposed to be an "intense" coffee note in the base, but I don't sense it.

It's everything I want in an orange perfume, except longetivity. Gone in 2 hrs

This is a very orangey-lemony citrus, however, I find it to have poor performance yet simultaneously find it to be very cloying and stomach-churning. Unfortunately, it also gives floor cleaner rather than a gourmand citrus. And it might just be my sample, but the alcohol is incredibly strong. This is almost verging on a dislike for me because of that. I had to scrub it off.

I have to agree with a lot of the other comments. The opening is absolutely incredible. Deep, spicy, juicy orange. Exactly like an orange creme from a VERY expensive box of chocolates. It's GORGEOUS But then....it's a skin scent within twenty minutes and totally gone within an hour.. I had applied liberally and to my shirt as well because I'd read these reviews. So sad

The opening notes reflect a very realistic sweet orange scent. After an hour, the scent becomes a touch vanillic and similar to an orange cake. But projection is so low, that it's not cloying. It's a nice scent, but realistic orange scent is not my thing, and since it doesn't project I would say I prefer Mandarino di Sicilia.

Opening is a bright candied orange. Kind of like an orange slice dessert that uses orange zest and a sugar syrup. A bit of tang attached to the sweetness. There’s a hint of darkness/warmness in the background. Which I assume is the cinnamon and amber working together. I imagine a light amber color when I smell this. Like looking through an amber crystal while on a tree-lined beach. The dry down is even more ambery, powdery, and musky. Even a little dusty and musty. Feels like a dark and smoky room in an old house of someone you don’t know. While I thought the opening was interesting even if not a ‘love’, the dry down is a big dislike for me. It’s not fresh at all. It feels out of place with the opening, like they are completely different vibes and for different occasions.

A dear friend of mine gave me a decant of this orange and almond fragrance, which I'm really enjoying this summer. It's a citrus perfume with a certain sweetness that's not excessive, and with a certain complexity and elegance that make it stand out in its category. At the opening it smells like juicy orange, very realistic, it really is a fantastic start. Then the almond appears to my nose, going hand by hand with the orange throughout the rest of the development of the perfume, providing that bitter-sweet contrast that is so interesting in compositions where nuts are present. I also get hints of cinnamon and coffee, giving the perfume a spicy nuance that makes me want to smell it again and again. On my skin it has a moderate to soft sillage and lasts about 6-7 hours. I don't think I would buy it because I have to finish a lot of citrus perfumes before, but I think it's a very nice option for informal and semi-formal occasions where we want to wear something elegant but discreet, cheerful and jovial. What a happy fragrance! It smells just like Fanta soda in the opening! super juicy orange and effervescent bite(some spice, white pepper maybe?) not sure it is refreshing, but at least invigorating😁 it dries down to an orange almond coockie. Great! you cant perceive de coffe, but it gives a beautiful edge and depth to the almond in the drydown. I love it! Slightly slightly feminine, just a tiny bit. I cant get any cinnamon! I think longevity is ok, pleasantly long and not disturbing. Its a citrus fragrance after all, what do you expect? the longevity of an incense Amouage? come on, dont be ridiculous.

Uplifting facets that go from juicy soda with natural flavors and raw sugar cane... to natural glossy fruit candy that hardened under the summer sun. A scent you’d want to smell like after leaving the club from playing tennis, golf, or after the spa. Its sparkling citric clean summer skin that doesn’t smell like a fruity body spray nor does it smell like a typical citrus fragrance. This is a simple sweet juicy fragrance but there’s cachet here, it just feels higher end and that makes it nicer. IYKYK Unisex, sweet, sporty, sophisticated.

Based on the reviews here I was expecting something 'meh' and fleeting. Boy was I wrong. This is stunning. Opening burst of grown up orange- fresh and juicy, then the dry down comes - a subtle orange, musky amber almond and vanilla mix which is delicious - stays perfectly unisex in the process. Performance is actually OK, nothing beast mode, it's very hard to find that kind of performance in a citrus frag, but longevity and silage are not bad at all for what it is.

Beautiful scent but not enough projection nor sillage for the price. Definitely a skin scent, a teaser more than anything. It has what I want for the first 15 or 20 minutes. Not worth the price point, you can definitely get more from a spritz at Bath and Body works. I should not be posting this since I have one that I want to sell as soon as possible but I'm truly pissed with this fragrance. Keep your money in your pocket. This is pretty but so so weak.

Smells like Sweet Fresh Oranges, with a hint of cinnamon. This is one of those fragrances that had all the right notes, but the blend is not good, too much juicy oranges and not enough of the other notes, Almond, Vanilla, Coffee and Amber. No go for me, especially the horrible silage and staying power, a skin scent from the start. As stated before nowhere near worth the price, more like $40 at most.

Perris Monte Carlo is really one of the most slept-on niche brands that more people need to try and know about. I have ordered travel-sizes of many of their fragrances from Perfume Playground and always receive free samples of different scents from this brand. This has a slightly gourmand nutty warmth from the coffee and almond to balance the citrus.

Probably my favourite orange perfume. It has sweet orange opening which is perfectly unisex anda woody drydown which is still fresh. I don't normally like woody drydowns, but this one is done really nicely. I'm not sure about the comparison to atelier cologne, this definitely feels more sophisticated and is definitely more complex.

Somehow it develops towards spiced mulled wine on my skin, giving me a Christmas vibe. Not a fresh and zesty realistic citrus scent I was looking for, but worth it to get back to it if I would ever look for a mulled wine style citrus scent.

The Miami heat can be BRUTAL in July and August! I own only about 10 or 15 that can be worn and appreciated during those days. The touch of sweetness adds to it's mouth watering composition. Thank you Erik1946 for the nice gift.

I agree with framorena! I have a sample, at first orange, sunny and juicy orange. But coffee vanilla orange and amber are simply beautiful! Amazing scent, so positive and happy!

One of my favorite feel good summer fragrances. Projection sits close to the skin, longevity is 8-10 hours. Positive vibes with this one. High quality niche.

Can anyone please tell me how strong and prominent is the ambroxan here (if any)? Heard from someone that it's packed with it

It’s blended to citrusy sweet, a girly feminine vibe. Not enough spice. Generic

I cannot justify these prices for crap performing juice.
