Bois d‘Oud

To start: I do not usually like oud fragrances - not at all. I would exclude this note from the the notes search when I contemplate a perfume. And i have went through a lot of search for a suitable oud fragrance for my collection. Not until I came across this beauty: it captivated we immediately with its subtle almost too careful path towatds oud note. I’d say initially it’s more on the feminine side with a slight sweetness shimmering for ca 5 min, until then it’s a careful almost very subtle oud scent. After initial introduction (like with the rest of the PMC collection) the note goes into the full bloom, as if it shrugs off all its shyness and reveals the most enticing sides of itself - and yet this oud , even when fully developed, does not make me feel like a have a throat ache and thyroid is popping out.The shop assistant told me that this particular fragrance is chosen by the customers who can’t bear a naturally strong oriental style oud. It captivated me and held this way for a few hours afterwards. So I left the shop with a FB of this marvel still wondering what the development could bring later, popped into the taxi and boom - I get the compliment from the taxi driver saying that I smelled marvellous (wow - I thought - this should be a keeper frag for me). I love it another big win from me to PMC - as their Tuberose Absolue and ylang ylang Nosy Be totally turned me into the devoted fan of this house, I have gotten over the oud search with a huge success of finding the one .

EN. Judging by the relatively low price (€ 125.00) the composition of this perfume: synthetic Oud, accompanied by some other synthetic ingredients (such as plum and peach, because it's impossible to extract from the fruit the aromatic oils). But it doesn't make it bad perfume. It's very strong, rich and exciting, which gives a feeling of great "Oud for beginners" avoiding the initial note of moldy cheese that characterizes the fungus, that attacks the core of agarwood, creates this unique and so specific scent of Oud. I would say that Bois D'Oud is a winning mix of a great perfume, a nice bottle at an affordable price. IT. A giudicare dal prezzo relativamente basso (€ 125,00) la composizione del profumo: Oud sintetico, accompagnato da alcuni altri ingredienti sintetici (come la prugna e la pesca, perché dai frutti impossibile estrarre gli oli aromatici). Tutto sommato però il profumo è molto resistente, ricco e eccitante, che dà una sensazione di ottimo "Oud per principianti", quindi evitando la nota iniziale di formaggio ammuffito, caratterizzata dal fungo che, attaccando il nucleo dell'albero di agar, crea l'odore unico e così caratteristico di Oud. Si può dire che Bois D'Oud è un vincente mix tra un ottimo profumo, un bel flacone ed un prezzo accessibile.

Some months ago, I had a date with a sexy classmate from my University days. After moments of deep ruminations, I decided to use Bois D'Oud as my SOTN to possibly impress my Date! One thing about this frag is its versatility. Good for office, but has this alluring postmeridian opulence, coupled with the fruity 'floriental' interplay of Plum, Peach, Jasmine, Iris and Rose. While I love Bois D'Oud, I must quickly add that it's not that Oud-forward frag howbeit it's very strong. It's a unisex frag with a slightly masculine bent because of the woodiness (thanks to the Cedarwood and Patchouli notes). The "Oud" seemingly stays in the far background from start to finish! As a lover of potent Ouds in perfumes, I almost had olfactory dissonance when I caught a whiff of it on Day 1! Not really for me (because of the teeny weeny Oud note) but I (still) love it because of Patchouli in the drydown! Definitely not for everyone except you're a bona fide niche parfum Connoisseur!

شروع ای گیرا و جذاب با یک وجه میوه ای و تُرش که کنار یک رایحه‌ی دودی به مشام می‌رسید وجه میوه ای کاملا حس آلو یا گاهی هم چِری داشت و از همین رو،تنباکو رو به ذهن القا می‌کرد شیرینی مرموز و البته بوزی هم داره که انگار یه شراب میوه ای رو با چیزی شبیه به کارامل یا وانیل شیرین کرده باشند از همون ابتدا بویی علفی که انگار در حال سوختن باشه هم به مشام می‌رسید چیزی شبیه به عود اما سبک‌تر و البته با چوب و علف های کوچک دور اش که به نظرم تاثیر پچولی در ایجاد این فضا خیلی پررنگه و جنس پچولی توی این عطر گیاهی و چوبیه انتظار این همه نُت های گُلی رو نداشتم جریان لطیف و کمی متناقض گُلی رو میشه در عطر حس کرد که برخلاف روایح چوبی و ... به مشام می‌رسه اما خیلی خوب جا افتاده و حل شده تو عطر شروع کاملا یونی سکس و متمایل به مردونه است اما از نیمه های عطر به بعد وجه زنانه اش بیشتر میشه خصوصا با ورود گل ها ************* scent:9/10 longevity:9/10 sillage:7.5/10 purchase value:5/10 ******** overall:7.6/10

An excellent intimate fragrance that is unisex right down the middle; absolutely wonderful. Bois d'Oud starts out with oud and plum, followed by more oud and plum and a touch of creamy vanilla and spices. Vanilla is more prominent during the dry down, but oud and fruity notes, while toned-down, there for the life of the fragrance. This fragrance has fleeting similarities to Tom Ford Plum Japonais and Bond No. 9 Andy warhol mainly to the prominent plum and oud accords. However, they are far more dissimilar due to Bois d'Oud having a plastic-plum vibe, and it backed with dark ebony woods in the base, which become more earthy and deep. Bois d'Oud lasts a solid 10-hours on my skin and projects about average, which is perfect for this kind of fragrance, which I find to be a sexy, intimate scent, and one of my favorites from Perris Monte Carlo. A definite try for plum-oud lovers.

Oud. I have Aoud Shafran Montale, Oud Wood Tom Ford and several more perfumes with an oud note as a prominent one. Oud was very popular 7-5 years ago, but not now. I reject even to test new ones because oud note is so prominent and powerful which makes all perfumes with it alike. But it’s completely different with Perris. The wrap oud in different way. If you sniff 20-30 minutes after application, you hardly recognize oud in the first moment, obviously you will identify it in the second moment ) because it’s nature of oud to dominate, but this niche perfume is really new life of oud, king of oud and the most sophisticated oud fragrance at the moment. Longevity and projection are exactly what they should be - not overwhelming as other oud’sss. My opinion - this is the best niche oud perfume at the moment.

I thought I was losing my mind because this is clearly quite spice laden but no spices are shown in the notes above, so I just checked the PMC website and here's their note list, which I find a much better descriptor than what Fragrantica shows above: Head: Fresh, Fruity, Bergamot Heart: Rose, Spices, Cinnamon, Jasmine Base: Saffron, Oudh, Musk, Vanilla This was an instant like that grew into a love after more wears. Some kind of brightness lifting up dense stone fruits stewed with spices, a dirty rubbery oud accord (that smooths out immensely as it dries down); all softened by vanilla but not overpowered by it. By far not a safe blind buy, but a unique composition worth sampling if you aren't turned off by the depiction of the oud note that starts off oily or rubbery

I am sitting at a scarred and ancient wooden bench, waxed by time and tears and many caressing hands. There is a ceramic pot sealed with beeswax nestled in a bowl of plums, but the seal has been broken and the honey within is exposed to the air for the first time in 2000 years. My hands are anointed with spiced oils and when I reach for a plum and bring it to my lips I taste the honey, the oil, the spices, and the oozing promise of the fruit. Bois D'oud is sexy like a cautionary tale from 1001 Nights. No matter the consequence I would reach for it, compelled by invisible spirits to probable delicious doom.

A very interesting take on Oud: Bois d‘Oud is very sweet, like a thick, sticky stewed fruit compote in the opening. Dry down brings out more spices and vanilla along with an oily Oud note. And Bois d‘Oud feels very opulent in a masculine way. I get smoking jacket and money clip vibes. I also smell the interior of a very expensive luxury car. If you love Oud and think you’ve smelled it all before, check out Bois d‘Oud. Perris Monte Carlo does not disappoint. Wear this and people around you will be swooning. Unfortunately it’s not quite my style, but I’m still voting thumbs up.

For me Bois d' Oud is one of the warm and smoothy scents. Acually I can't describe what makes it so attracting to me. It's just perfect, I always have to take a "sniff" at the empty sample sprayer and long for a bottle of it. In common I am the type of flowery parfumes without lilly of the valley, lilly, hyazinths, daffodils and jasmin. I even like Dia/Amouage, Collecible Zeta a Linden blossom, Osmanthus, Datura---. And on the other hand "Eussersdorf Classic myrrh" "Cardinal".....At least I have decide and choice for different direction of fragances.

To me, Bois D'oud kind of smells like the inside of a brand new Mercedes or something like that. The oud here is very clean and quite medicinal, so I can see how this comes off synthetic to most people, but for me, I get alot of that new-car smell. I could see this on a Mercedes-driving CEO in a pinstripe suit. Very mature, very hard to pull off, but if you can, Bois D'oud is stellar.

Dry, polished wood, resinous and luminous. The wood carries a floral undertone, like rose petals pressed into the grain, and a subtle balsamic warmth gives the scent a refined backbone. Magnificent, and enough to show why so many perfumers are drawn to the oud-rose combo: there’s something in this interplay of dry, resinous oud with luminous rose that feels endlessly appealing.

Whenever I see a plummy perfume where the reviews say, "it's dark," "it's mysterious," "it's bewitching," I'm disappointed. They're too fruity and light, or sour (Plum Japonais). THIS is the dark plum you're looking for. Perfection. It's actually more of a mulberry (remember those candles and sachets from the 90s? I always wanted those in a perfume). A nice beginner oud, too.

I have visited a niche oerfumery yesterday, have tried It and It has justo become one of my favourite perfumes. This is a very different and special enelll. It is sweet and elegant. Strong but not intrusive. It is a las oody and fruity perfum with a good longevity and sillage. A very good discoveribg! Scent: 10 Longevity: 9 Sillage: 8 Quality/price: 8 Versatility: 9 Global: 9

Opening is very beautiful, hard to describe, but sophisticated and expensive. This is not an oud dominated fragrance. Oud is there but it's rather quiet, soft & shy. I am not crazy about the drydown though. The fragrance turns sugary, powdery and musky on me. Reminds me of a scent of a vintage cosmetics. Overall, still very nice fragrance.

This stuff smells gorgeous. I love a nice woody scent... but even more, I love a scent with some Plum in there... and even more!!... I love a scent that performs! Bam, this beauty has it all. I would love to get a full bottle of this. (If anyone has one they want to shake lemme know). Buy this.

Potent, dark, everlasting, manly but sweet smell. Leather, saffron, petrol. Worth much more than its price or similar scents in other brands. Think a darker, dirtier crystal saffron or Memos Cappadocia.

Although not listed, I get saffron which accompanies the oud throughout. Big, heavy wafts are produced that last the entire day. A unisex that may lean only slightly masculine. Very beautiful imo.

Gorgeous! The drydown reminds me of Theorema Fendi although I can't see any cinnamon here. Maybe it's because of the plum and labdanum which I both like.

Nice juice, unisex fruity woodsy dry down. It does have a hint of ambergis. After 3 days of continuous wearing there is a slight urine smell.

"Bois d'Oud" has a very nice opening, but it goes downhill from there. The opening is very rich - full of oud (the rubber-y leather kind) and syrupy sweet plum and a bit of powdery peaches. Even though the first sniff makes you go "Oh wow this is pretty" in a way it instantly becomes too much, the sweetness is not balanced at all and together with the oily rubber note it does not work well. As the scent develops it gets a bit boring, the first heavyness of the scent is gone and I'm left with slightly interesting composition of faint odor of oud and some flowers. The staying power is good - more than 8 hours, but worth the experience in my opinion are only the first 2 hours. This is the third from Perris Monte Carlo I've tried and so far even though they have been nice I can't see them being worth their price tag. I hope some other of his scents will prove me wrong.

I can’t remember which YouTuber introduced me to this, but that description put Bois d’Oud on my short list to test. I just finished my tiny sample and I want more! I haven’t had that much experience with Oud so I can’t comment on how this stacks up in the category. For me, it’s warm and comforting, woody and resinous, but not medicinal or sharp. And I can’t believe there is no leather in the notes on here. I get this lovely light scent you get with a high end leather bag at the opening. I can’t discern the individual florals but there is a faint bouquet in the background keeping everything soft and unisex. I did find all of the contradictions in the reviews interesting. Some say it smells natural, and others say it’s synthetic. Some think it smells expensive and others cheap. I think it’s so beautiful either way and now I need a full bottle.

I tried this today and it actually smells nice, not sure if it deserves the price tag though. The top notes are the best and you feel like it's going to develop into something more beautiful, but it doesn't. Enjoy the first hour or so of it, as it will turn into an ambery sweet smell afterwards. I agree it smells of roses, Amber and oud, although I find it difficult to tell what fruits are joining that choir. I sprayed it 3 times on my arm, and now 6 hours later I can only get a hint of skin scent, it's not heavy as you can see, and if you are looking for a beast in longevity then it's not the one. On the other hand, it projects well. I like this smell but I don't love it, might buy if price goes down to 1/4 what it is now.

This is a new house for me and liked the notes so figured I would try it. At first sniff on arm (I never rate frags on paper, just because I only care about what they smell like on me) I get a little sharpness like balsamic maybe from the Oud but it’s not unpleasant. There is a slight fruity and green touch for me also, I get none of the bergamot. The mid and dry down are about the same for me, a little woody and vanilla with the sharpness I noted in the opening a slight bit softer. It’s a pleasant scent for me, I’d say a 6.5 out of 10. I wouldn’t pay full price but I got my bottle from a discounter for about 55% off and I feel fine paying that. The quality is good, presentation nice and overall a well made scent

This is most easily compared to Tyger, Tyger by 4160 Tuesdays. This smells like fruit, plastic, a bit of non-indolic jasmine. It's sweet but smells artificial. I don't mean the ingredients are synthetic - the majority of perfumes use synthetic ingredients - I mean it captures the smell of something made with synthetic materials, like plastic or faux leather. UPDATE: Second wearing: Now I am getting spice in the opening. A spicy chai with no milk. Opens up like a cinnamon and clove tea.

After 3x fullwear, here's my review The opening was quite sharp and harsh. It opens with woody, oud, black plum that smells very medicinal and hospital-ish. But once it dries down, it becomes a really pleasant not your typical fruity oud. The longevity really varies depending on your skin's chemistry. On my skin it lasted 6-8 hrs. It projects good but its not a room filler (which is a good thing). This perfume is quite linear, not much development throughout the hours.

Gorgeous. Like you're wearing a leather jacket fresh out out of the store. Some might say plastic or rubber. Personally I love it. PMC is consistently underrated, I haven't heard them talked about much but this is another example of their quality.

A sweet fruity-woody à la Lutens. Simple, it opens with a smoky plum and evolve quickly to a linear lackered wood like the surface of an heavy dark wood table after the 4 o'clock tea, glazed with sirupy spilled aromatic tea and candied fruits.

Perres makes incredibly beautiful and natural scents. This scent is slightly woody, a little sweet at the beginning and smells like real Oud. Despite the sweetness, it is a masculine scent. I really enjoy wearing this perfume!

Smells like someone put on a latex glove and then fisted a bowl of fruit jam. In a good way? Edit: Am I crazy or does this kinda smell like Side Effect? I guess I'm not crazy because 6 other people also agree...

Reminds me of Petits Papiers Mad et Len, and both remind me of fresh sweet popcorn! A slightly sweet wodsy oud, fairly unisex. Not wow but nice.

I only tested this in store, one spray only, so probably it is not enough to have a clear opinion, but this is my impression: initial few 2 / 3 minutes very smokey and rubbery and a little, tiny hint of cheese, no fruit, no flowers, then it became smoother, all the harsh and weird notes disappeared. At this stage it was not unpleasant, I smelled something which reminded me steamed jasmin or basmati rice, same note I also detect in Scherzo, so it may be the way my nose / brain registers oud (?) I do not find it bad at all, but I would not buy it. It did not last very long, only a couple of hours, but it may depend on the fact that it was only one spray. I find it quite unisex and I think it is definitely more cold weather appropriate.

I would definitely rather smell this on a man than a woman. It's a pretty linear perfume, and to me it has a strong smell of something like the perfume equivalent of motor oil, with a cherry-like (probably peach and plum) note in the background. It's a pretty sharp, rough smell, but something I can definitely imagine enjoying on a man. When this becomes faint, it starts smelling like a good quality car perfume. I'm not at all mad about that smell. It's very likeable, IMO, but very unique, in that this will surely not be everyone's cup of tea.

I have sampled this fragrance over half a dozen times now, and the verdict is I won't buy it. This is a deep and rich fragrance, and it has something very alluring to it, but also some kind of rubbery smell I find offputting. It's love and repulse at the same time. Definitely not a safe scent, certainly not a safe blind buy. I don't see how I would ever finish 100ml as it is a very particular scent. You would wear this for you, noone else. Imho.

While this lazy non-perfume might have been acceptable at the peak of the oud craze, now that the dance is over and the nightclub lights have come on, Bois d’oud is not a pretty picture! Harsh, woody, leathery and a cheap peach note. Why don’t they discontinue rubbish like this? The reviewer below me likes Bois d’oud because it smells like Barbie’s hair - though that observation is bizarrely accurate, I believe Bois d’oud is slightly harsher than even that awful smell. That is enough to tell you all you need to know!

At the opening I have leathery amber whiffs, fantasy oud, ebony, doll's vanilla, plums, rose creams, jasmine, makeup pencils, peach and pungent musks. All wrapped in an amber latex glove. In the dry it does not change. My nose is sharp and the trail I take is hot, diabetic, greasy. It reminds me of a vintage Barbie dressed up, with a head filled with hairspray. Sorry.

Je n'ai pas aimé , je ne retrouve aucune notes d'ouverture , les agrumes sont inexistant. C'est un combo épice/oud , un oud fort à l'ouverture Très sombre , boisé, chaud , corsé. Ce n'est pas particulièrement beau , je le trouve mal équilibré. En plus de ca le parfum ne tient meme pas 30 min... La projection /sillage / tenue est mediocre. Étonnant pour un oud ! Déçu

Smells like a brand new leathery chair that you buy in the hardware store. It literally smells like the hardware store. Not bad but I don't want to smell like that

Opens with a punch of Oud, and Rubber. Like hard rubber tires, and hydraulic hoses. The oud smells extremely synthetic, and the rubbery smell overpowers anything else that might be in the notes. Offensive to everyone that smelled it on my arm. 0/10

Don't believe the reviews. I blind bought this product based on the reviews and then when I got the perfume I completely regretted it. It smells like a hospital. I've never seen a perfume this bad. Luckily the seller agreed to let me return it.

I'm sorry but this perfume is so disgusting. It smells like gasoline, lipstick, rubber and so very synthetic.

Ohh, I see I am the first one to review this beauty. Well, I bought it blindly. I was craving a sweet aoud, and researching the Montale line, as I love Montale perfumes with all my heart. But I wanted something without roses, and that is difficult, since aoud is almost always combined to some extent with roses. Not that I don't like roses; I adore them! But I just hoped for something unique and unexpected. Well, this doesn't disappoint. While I did purchase a tester, and my bottle is capless, the scent is quite a stunner. It is very similar to Velvet Aoud from Montale, only richer, sweeter and woodier. There is a plastic kind of aura which reminds me of Iris Ganache from Guerlain. I cannot smell the bergamote they describe for the top notes. It's had a syrupy feel, without being too sugary. The sweetness must come from the plum and the peach. I do not smell any flowers of any kind. There is a strong woody, forest-like smell, which isn't fresh at all... Aoud is the most dominant note, along with dried fruits. Like dried plums and apricots, which have a lot of sweetness and a little saltiness in them. Lots of them! The roses and jasmine, if there, are totally hidden to my nose. Maybe the smallest amount of neroli and iris.... Cedar is listed, but cedar for me is always a "fresh" kind of wood, a little green.... I don't smell that either... The woods in here are deep and dark. There is also a lot of ambregris which has a vanillary tone, but no distinctive vanilla. I cannot smell much musk or patchouli. No freshness here. Overall, I would call this a fruity woody, if such a category existed... Case and point: dried fruits + aoud + dark woods + ambregris. Great silage and longevity, fairly linear, becomes a tad fresher in the base, surprisingly. I surely recommend it, mostly for night time... Seductive, voluptuous and curvy, a little kinky and perverted if you'd like... Not very ladylike, as you can see. I think it would be great on a very sexy man, but mostly, because of the sweetness, I see it for a woman that is beautiful, grown up, strong, confident of her own power of seduction, a woman that doesn't care much about the image she promotes and who isn't afraid of getting what she wants when it comes to pleasures of life. Mystery comes from her fearless attitude. Am I that woman? Not quite.... but surely like to imagine I was, and smell like her too!

it is interesting that I discovered my opinion of Perris Monte Carlo's 'Bois d'Oud' differed so much from the opinions seen here. while at the same time I understand much of the feelings and thoughts shared. I must say I immediately liked Bois d'Oud. my first feeling was, and still is, 'an austere and therefor regal oud'. I am now more than an hour in 'a spritzing' and I must say, something is steadfastly holding all the other ingredients hostage. it reminds me of the cypriol in Frederic Malle/Dominique Ropions 'Promise', 'al Waad', with an enormous presence. and inimpenetrability. yet also that perfume I immediately loved. what we smell here for more than an hour is a good quality almost chemical, medical smelling Oud. as Ensar learned me: Oud has many faces. I have a lot of oud perfumes. all the Montale oud-rose perfumes I love, or oud-leather or oud-jasmine. most of all I love Dusita's 'Oudh Infini'. I have Ex Idolo's 'Thirty three' (year old Oud with a counteracting white rose). Terry de Gunzburgs Terryfic Oud and -Oud Extrème. Histoires de Parfums 'al Oudh' and JHAG's 'Midnight Oudh'. Attar Sultan Pasha's 'Douce Amère'. the Oud in 'Bois d'Oud' reminds me most of the Montales. more than 'an hour in' I notice the other notes are allowed to make an appearance. I definitely smell rose, plum, peach and jasmine. this is strange in so far as rose is usually strong enough to interfere with oud. from the very beginning. that isn't the case here. then I still get the impression of a 'regal, austere, oud perfume'. it is my guess another ingredient is holding the other notes of the perfume back. I don't trust the 'blackwood'. when I look it up I see it also is a player in Perris's 'Royal Oud'. but evenso in other, dense, not sissi-like, often masculin, perfumes. it is now that I smell a 'streaming', dynamic, facettuous perfume. I guess I have a knack for oud in all its incarnations. I also feel reminiscence with Mizensirs 'Ideal Oud' and 'Perfect Oud'. it definitely is a stubborn perfume. I wholeheartedly love it. I also love Perris's 'Ylang-Ylang Nosy Be'. that this was an Ylang of a small island near Madagascar with as Capital 'Hell Ville' was a revelation. this is a floriographic, heady perfume of that fatty, dense smelling yellow floral. so it may has helped to appreciate right away the 'Bois d'Oud'.

I got a privete message about this perfume and answered: "I remember when I bought it and I always beforehand know I'll buy a 100ml. flacon. I never deliberate beforehand if a perfume will shock my environment. I am a homosexual man from 1957 so, 65 years of age. but already in 1974 my career as perfumista begun. I understood immediately I needed female perfumes. it started with classics. actually Dior's Jules which I gave to my straight twinbrother. No. 5 made a deep impression. I combine a certain classicism and chic with punk esthetics. then the 80s came ! my coming of age decade in perfumes. the louder the better, with my mom. Poison, Giorgio, Obsession, Coco, Knowing, Opium (1971), Moschino parfum de toilette and Christian Lacroix parfum. now about oud. it came around 2000 right ? in the West. I have much oud perfumes in all facets. I particularly like all Montales with Rose-Oud. I just peeked what the notes of Bois d'Oud were. rose, oud, iris, 'blackwood', peach, plum,ambergris. I immediately felt a great hauteté, chicness, decidedness with the perfume. I have Ylang-Ylang Nose-Be (an isle near Madagascar). I almost devour that perfume. Bois d'Oud is superior definitely. the oud is discernable. the fruits (I am not so fruity !). but plum I remember from Boucherons Jaipur and that was smashing. it is not a perfume in the grey zone. I had to look up 'blackwood' which causes some austerity and directiveness. it had to grow on me. and the perfume in its entirety enheightens you, is posh and present. for instance the Montales have ballistic projection and durance. this perfume is more demure and austere. but the austerity of for instance Knowing, makes it hyperchic. I think that qualifies this Perris' perfume the best. I have 5 flacons of Dusitas Oudh Infini, times $ 400... there the Laotian oud Paolo has a fervent, rotten but also very refined scent. the Rose de Mai de Grasse tames it, and the civet animalizes it all. this is all not the case with Bois d'oud. it is a sophisticated, chic perfume and I imagine myself trodding on 5th ave like a million bucks. you have to have self-esteem. but the perfume helps you with that ! love, aad de gids, Madonnatella, Jaguarundina."

I bought this in NY in the winter and I wore it there. It was love at first sniff. While searching for an OUD fragrance I stumbled upon this gem at Min NY in Nolita. After trying it on my pulse and walking around the city I decided to purchase it as I got totally addicted to it. On my skin starts very fruity, plum, almost cherry with a sort of smokiness. It develops after 15 min into a floral, woody, musky fragrance with the OUD and the fruity notes linking all the other ingredients. Today I wore it for the first time in São Paulo, Brazil, as the weather now is getting colder which suits the fragrance structure. The reaction from people I met is mixed. Some told me it smells a bit feminine and sweet, since I am a man it worried me a bit. But others said that smells animalic, sexy and masculine. One comment I got from everybody: "it smells expensive, sophisticated". To be honest I love it so much I will keep wearing it and I will probably buy it again.

Initially, I got to know oud in the perfumery through creations of Pierre Montale, which I find beautifully unique. Bois d‘Oud was a revelation for me. This is a stunning oud composition, framed with sweet plums and peaches to such extent that it is not an overtly oud perfume, but an europized variation, which allows an entry into the agarwood even for the western mind and nose. Although no spices are listed, the perfume has spicy zestiness, may be due to black wood. The strongest note in the drydown is vanilla. I prefer wearing this beauty in the evening, however, can also imagine it as an accompaniment to work. An example for a excellent mixture of Orient and Oxidant in one scent. IG: perfumepassione

Very well made. You can tell this is real oud, they made it palatable to the western nose as an interesting concept. There's a sparkling element to it, atop the sticky, fruity, vanillic and syrupy nuance that's also atop a rubbery leather. It's a whispy fragrance too, it dances around - everytime you go for a sniff, depending on what angle you're coming from, you'll get different notes. I appreciate the art, it's not something I would personally reach for often - but there will be moments where this is perfect. This is what BR540 intended to be and failed, as far as desired effect.

The beginning, to me was all about the oud, not very sweet - quite earthy and musk-laden. It reminded me very much of M Micallef's Oud Gourmet - and I didn't find it at all fruity. About 5 hours later now, the vanilla has really come out and it feels more creamy. I'm really loving this dry down, but am sorry to not have experienced the plum notes and creaminess earlier on.

pretty fruit-dominant in the opening. i think this fragrance has made me realize my disdain for fragrances with a prominent plum note.... something about the plum mixed with powder from the iris and vanilla/musk softness makes me feel a little ill. i think if you enjoy fruity-woody-sweet scents you'll enjoy this—i just personally prefer something more balanced

very special frag in a perfume world lately dominated by oud in all his forms ,this a sirupy quite sweet oud maybe one of the most feminine around ,it reminds me a lot of the first original not reformulated poison by dior ..anyway a definitely worth buying frag 7/10
